Highly recommend Granger Owings. I procrastinated a little too long and needed a tux rental for my brothers and I on short notice for my wedding. I went by a couple other places before finding Granger Owings. All 3 of us live in different states, which posed a small problem for getting measurements, haha. No problem for David though. He got the measurements and picked the tux sizes and everything went great.
I highly recommend Travis Hollis at Granger Owings! He recently helped me with some wedding attire and the service was excellent and the fit was perfect! Also, last fall I was looking for a Barbour Jacket and called Travis at Granger. He helped me find the perfect size in stock! They have a huge selection of sizes for men and women.
I was in a huge bind with funeral that suddenly came up and it was Monday and I had nothing to wear,I went there, I saw Travis and he took great care of me and had me a suit tailored to fit and ready by Thursday. I met the owner Vaughn who also helped me . Great service and I would highly recommend this group of outstanding people. I’m a business owner as well and recognize a well run operation and they sure have it!!! 10 stars
With a wedding coming up, we decided to shop local and give Granger Owings a try. From booking, to response, to the actual fitting and consult...it couldn’t have gone any better. LV was incredibly kind, engaging, and professional. Within 10 mins, we knew we’d made a great choice. After getting to know us, each & every option and choice was so easy. Walking out with a custom wedding suit, wonderful blazer, and all the extras was amazing. I wholeheartedly recommend this shop for all of your men’s clothing needs. Best money spent, lifelong happy customer.
If you truly want and expect the Best in Class, Granger Owings is the place! The owner and his staff are super knowledgeable and accommodating. Their attitudes are just as awesome as their style...always fabulous!Ladies and Gentleman, this clothier is second to none! :)
Have been a customer of GO for quite a few years. Working with many of the staff there. My most recent years, Ive worked with Travis Hollis.Having someone that understands what you like and how you think you want to dress is very helpful. Travis understanding of clothes and shoes offers a new perspective to what is possible. While you can shop anywhere, Granger Owings and Travis makes the experience of shopping a pleasure.
Granger Owings donated five child and teenager-sized tuxedos for our black tie fundraiser, the South Carolina Business Hall of Fame, for our student ambassadors. Granger Owings was very professional to work with and got us everything we needed! They were great with the students and their parents! Thanks, Granger Owings!
Needed a quick custom suit for a wedding, these guys squared me away! The only reason they are not getting a 4 Star is because it was literally down to the day before. I am not white and was treated with extreme professionalism and would encourage other people to judge for themselves rather than from a comment. My name is Johnnie Hughes and I gain nothing from this, however if you like style then you will.
Real cool suits
The Granger Owings team was very helpful! While traveling on business this week, Travis and company were able to assist me with a pair of cuff links after I forgot to pack my own. Southern Hospitality at its best!
David did an amazing job with all the groomsman tux’s and was great communicating through the group.
I saw this place on line and the reviews made me feel that it was a promising option for my custom clothing needs. When I walked in I was greeted by no one. But every other person that entered the store was greeted. I walked the entire store out of principal, and still not one word. My wife sat in a chair in the rear of the store able to view what was going on, and she picked up on it right away. Unfortunately if your white you will be cared for at this store, but if you are an African American do not look for fair treatment or even a minor acknowledgment. They will look you in your eye and keep walking. Well I guess I will spend my 20k commission check some where that does not judge you by the color of your skin.
First mistake: Calling to ask a simple question.Second mistake: Inquiring about a mere tuxedo vest(for purchase)in white pique, no shawl collar, full backThe man who answered the phone put me on hold as if to check stock. A few moments later, a younger man answered the phone as if it was a new call. I let him know I was being helped already and WHENS THE WEDDING?!? I was shocked and told him wed come in if we decided to do business with them. What they DONT know- I have two family members who invest thousands with G/O each year. I will let them know about the rude treatment I received today.African-Americans, it isnt about you. Its about the interruption.(Above)Grooms to be? Dont let your fiance drag you there for your formalwear needs. Bridal Expos are not geared for gents.
LV and the entire team at Granger Owings are hands-down the best in Columbia. You dont have to travel to Charlotte or Atlanta - much less New York - to get great clothes. Ive bought everything from sport shirts to custom made suits from these guys. The prices are more than fair, the quality is excellent, and the team is first class.
This is my favorite clothing store! The salesman there epitomize style and they will get you looking great with lots of great quality brands from Barbour, Polo, Hickey, Oxxford, whether youre looking for a casual look or a dress look. Youll be getting compliments! Also, check out their store across the street called Circa 1332.
Completely unexpected find while visiting, exceeded my expectations, met my needs (and wants) - all with extremely friendly service. In town for a conference my boyfriend was attending for a quick 24 hours. I have a National Sales Meeting next week and needed some new work pieces - work attire for the day and a formal cocktail event for one of the nights.I found all of that as well as some every staple wardrobe pieces that should last me for years and years to come.Everything I got was gorgeous quality and absolutely beautiful on. They carry a beautiful Italian line, Perserico, that has dream cashmere pieces (I got some sweaters and a beautiful a line skirt). One of the dresses was Badgley Mischka and the other was Polo, both cocktail worthy. They carry Hudson jeans. They have their own custom pieces as well. I can’t even begin to explain how gorgeous the coat I decided on is. Shoes- I got a pair of their custom tennis shoes that are just beautiful and have a thick soul, ribbon laces and just the right amount of everything. They carry Cole Haan as well and may have picked up a pair of those as well... or two.Anyways, you get the point. Gorgeous pieces that are just classic and quality.Owners, Deborah & Vaughn, were a delight and so helpful and the person that helped me through everything while I pondered over all my choices, re-tried on everything to make sure I absolutely loved everything I walked away with was Travis! So much patience, so much help and just all around great customer service. I didn’t catch the seamstresses name but she was a sweetheart as well.Thank you to the Granger Owings family! I loved that you were a one stop shop for everything I needed!
Ive shopped at Granger Ownings for several years now and am continually impressed with their customer service and knowledge. Vaughn knows my sense of style and does a great job of customizing items to my taste. The service and style offered by Granger Owings is unparalleled in Columbia and the Southeast. Id recommend them to anyone.
The staff is friendly, patient, and listens to your needs. This is where I purchased my first tuxedo and plan to purchase my next. Would give 10 stars if there was an option.
Received excellent customer service, and the staff were very professional. I will definitely be making future purchases at this establishment.
My boyfriend and I have been in this store only twice and both times, we felt like family here! Colton took care of us the first time and was very informative. He listened to what we wanted instead of just trying to sell us anything. We came back today and worked with LV and Colton - both were so helpful to us starting our collection in “fancy” clothes. We ordered, and we will be back next week to receive the alterations.
When I arrived in the store nobody greeted me. I was in the store for 20 minutes and not one person acknowledged me or asked if I needed help. Then when I did ask the worker on duty for help he acted as if I was an inconvenience to him. After my visit i told my friends what happened and they informed me that they felt the same way. I didnt want to believe them when they said because I was black I wasnt going to have a pleasant experience but sorry to say thats how I felt. Because the other people that came in after got help but I didnt. I liked the store but I will not shop where I feel im not wanted.
Wanted to thank LV, Travis and all the others at Granger Owings that helped me get my clothes for a couple of big events I have coming up. Really appreciate all the help!
Very attentive, knowledgeable staff. A great experience!
I love their selection and their ability to cater to many different clothing styles. They take customer service to another level which is rare in the world today.
Great clothes and great service. Thanks, jimmy!
So I am going to give you the short and sweet version followed by the those who care version.Pros:Has great customer service (except owner)Great pricingsuits are VERY breathableCons:Manager very disrespectfulQuality of suits are rubbishWill lie to you to get the saleIf you rent they could care less about you as a customerThey dont have a wide color selectionThey arent punctual on their arrival datesAvoids conflictDoesnt take responsibility for their faults.Found them at a bridal expo, and their prices were great! $160 for a full suit get up is very nicely priced compared to the competitors I had shopped. I had two requirements: Must the bridesmaids dresses and carry womens suits. They lied about both. They do not carry womens fits (they told me a week before my wedding) and they didnt come CLOSE to matching the dresses (we told them we would get the vest elsewhere but they ASSURED me they had a perfect match). They continued to argue saying it was an exact match. I gave them color splotches, and even compared them directly to the dress. Though, blatantly opposite he said, They are perfect for what we have. And there you have it. For what they HAD. I asked for perfect match, not for what they had.The sizing of the suits were a nightmare. I went in and got everyone sized and not one persons suit came back correctly. My jacket was too short, 2 of my groomsmen shirts were WAY too big. Another groomsmen pants were about 5 inches too short. Both myself and a different groomsmen had buttons fall off as we were dressing, mine in the middle of my ceremony! They didnt give us the right tie set up. Two best men had bow-ties in petal, and the rest of the groomsmen had long ties in mint. I got one hot pink bow-tie and the rest a pistachio long tie. Granted, when I called they drove out to our wedding location (about 40 minutes away) to deliver the right ties and they were still not the right color but at least they were on the same pallet at that point. At this point, Im beyond frustrated. it is 2 hours before Im going to be married and all I can think about is how nothing is going to match, and 1/3rd of our jackets wont be able to button, and another 1/3rd cant take off their jackets because their shirts are that huge (luckily it was cold that day). Before this happened, they were always 3-5 business days behind schedule. I didnt even get to try on my suit until the DAY BEFORE the wedding! It was honestly a miracle that we even got suits at all.David, my go to guy was VERY committed to doing everything he could to try and make it right, and whereas I appreciate that, they shouldnt have had to be fixed in the first place. He shouldve told me the truth from the start and we wouldve saved ourselves a LOT of heartache. Now, giving him the benefit of the doubt I asked to sit down with him and a manager to figure out where the miscommunication lied. They canceled on me twice, David and the owner Vaughn. Eventually after he sent my a text message telling me to call him back (who text in a professional business?) I called him back leaving him a voicemail telling him to call me so we can talk. The next day passed and I called to make sure we were still on for our meeting. no answer. The store (David) said, sorry we are going to have to cancel, he will call you tomorrow. The next day he (Vaughn. The Owner. Of the company. You think he would have some respect and decency, yes?) called me and from the start was very rude and abrasive. Wouldnt let me get a sentence out before interrupting me. Kept telling me that it was my fault for not checking all of the suits properly, and because I rented, I have no right to complain. Told me unless I had a real issue I wanted to talk about, the conversation was done. Trying to express that I wanted to meet with him, he interrupted me and said, the problem is you. Ive been in business for 40 years and no one has ever complained. ... Seriously Vaughn? Then He proceeded to hang up on me stating never to contact him again.Am following up with the BBB.
Product prices were truly outrageous. A tie cost me $150.00
Travis Hollis knows his... Clothes!
Very helpful
