Im not sure how I missed this place in the list of great lunch spots but the food is delicious and fresh! After you enjoy a great lunch in a lodge style dining room, check out the tasty chocolates and candies. Also, some fun gifts are friends are in the gift shop. My fiancee and I found this place on accident and let me just tell you this store is a neat little store. Not only does it have incredibly fresh delicious food, it has a store full of knick knacks and snacks that will make you want to check your diet at the door. Im fully okay with that. Below is a couple sandwiches they offer and of the store in general.

This is the place to get your chocolate (milk/dark) fix lol. They carry the biggest verity of the candy and chocolate treats in the Columbia and surrounding areas that Ive seen, so you wont find these tasty treats anywhere else around. Also they have a nice size menu for lunch and everything Ive eaten on that menu have been pretty good. The atmosphere is very chill with a mix of people. The employees have always been quick, helpful, and professional. The owners are great and very much involved in the daily operations. Give them a try if you havent already and Im sure youll agree

All but one of the staff was VERY friendly. Shrimp and grits were delicious!! Ultimate satisfaction. I also bought some samples of sweets. Loved the caramel corn and pretzels. Candy apple was okay. Fudge disappointed. Tasted like chocolate playdough. But I will definitely eat there again!

Love this place. Can get lunch, dinner to go home for my family and grab a gift for a friend all in one stop! The bath bombs are amazing! Did I mention the chocolate?You can watch the chocolate being made and get a sample. Yummy! A must stop in and visit when your in town or in the area.

What a wonderful place. The food was home cooked and absolutely delicious 😋. The gift shop was full of goodies from handmade lotions to chocolate sweets which they make in house. The atmosphere was lovely and the employees were very friendly. We will definitely be returning and often.

I always thought this place was just a candy and coffee house. I had no idea they served a very nice lunch menu as well! I had their BBQ Bacon burger and it was one of the best burgers Ive had! I will definitely be going back to experience more of their lunch options!

Anytime I travel to this side of town, I have to visit the Peanut Man shop. I love the little gifts, candy, and our favorites - the huge chocolate peanut butter cups, chocolate turtles, and candied pecans!

Everyone was friendly, service was fast, felt very welcome. Five of us all ordered something different, and all were -very- satisfied. If I lived here, I would definitely be back.

Can’t say about good things about these fine folks. They are friendly and very accommodating. We went in for a sandwich and the ladies at the front counter went out of their way to make my nephew, who’s has a dairy and peanut allergy, a custom wrap that wasn’t even on the menu! They were very sweet and extremely kind. I would recommend this place to anyone.

The food was phenomenal and the items in the store are amazing. I got the ultimate trip down memory lane with the candies and essential oils that I saw there. I cant believe that I had never heard of this place before now. The customer service is awesome btw. I officially love this place.

Enjoyed another delicious Saturday lunch at The Peanut Man! Don’t be confused by the name! The Peanut Man serves hot and cold sandwiches, flatbreads, salads, soups, and entrees. Today I tried the Gorgonzola steak salad. It was delicious….lots of tender flank steak with cheese crumbles, croutons, tomato, cucumber, fresh greens. My husband had his favorite Italian Flatbread with 3 meats, cheese, and drizzled with the best balsamic you’ve ever tasted. There’s plenty of seating, room for private parties, and a gift shop full of great gifts snd treats…..candies, popcorn, baked goods. It’s one of our favorite places to go for a casual meal, but carry-out of full dinner meals is also an option. Steak, Shrimp and Grits, or weekly specials. Highly recommended!!

Yummy lunch. Ive had grilled pimento cheese sandwich and the gorgonzola salad. Both were delicious and fresh. I got a slice of the brownie caramel cheesecake and it was a little dry to me, but overall great food at reasonable prices. Love the atmosphere of the location

Trying to support local businesses during quarantine. First time eating here, and the food they delivered was great! Hamburger steaks, mashed potatoes and gravy with green beans and rolls brought to our door by the most friendliest man, and they sent a Thank you for the support! ☺ We will definitely be ordering again.

All around fantastic experience! Great food we had the basil pesto flat bread huge portion better taste and the fig and prosciutto sandwich all competitively priced and packed full of flavor. Our son had a blast with the games and chocolate, looking forward to our next visit!!

I got the Rib eye special. The sides were very good but the steak was fatty and chewy, basically not a good cut.

Great place to visit but very pricey. I think $7 for a very small bag of pecans is outrageous. They have alot of nice things but not somewhere I would visit on a regular basis because of how expensive they are.

I simply love the Peanut Man. It really a great place. They have some of the best old school candy by far. Plus an assortment of cakes, chocolates, ice cream, and boiled Peanuts. They serve really great food all day. The staff is extremely friendly and very accommodating. I just love going here. Highly recommended for all ages if you go youll become a fan too.

Carrie and Chris have an awesome store with gifts, sweets, and the best boiled peanuts. They also have a full menu for dine-in and take-out. I cant wait to try one of her Hot Cocoa Bombs!

Pleasant surprise nearby that I didnt even know about! My wife and I went and ate after church and the food was really good. Portions were good and the taste was excellent. The staff is friendly and they act like they are glad you are there... I think the were glad we were there. Ill be back there to eat later.

I want everyone to know how wonderful this little cafe / candy shop is.The atmosphere of the cafe is so welcoming. The food is AMAZING!!!! The staff are always friendly. I promise you will never be disappointed with The Peanut Man.I can go on gushing about this place but then Id be writing a book. LoL So come in and get yourself a coffee. Sit in one of the 3 comfy chairs or the couch near the focal point of the room, the grand stone wall fireplace. If that doesnt sell you. I dont know what will.

They catered for my workplace earlier today and everything not only arrived in a timely manner but setup was also very professional. As for taste: ... Phenomenal! And just the boost I needed today. I’m already looking forward to taking advantage of their curbside pickup soon. Please patronize this local business during these trying times, they deserve it.

I attended a private event at the restaurant, I was very impressed by the food and service. I returned for lunch; my salad was beautifully plated even with the challenging request to have all toppings on the side. Im a picky eater and I found plenty of choices. Their store is full of delicious tempting sweets and I even found sugar free candies and chocolates!!

FINALLY, boiled peanuts just like I remember! Id ordered from three other online vendors before finding The Peanut Man. The other vendors were either two salty or too hard. The Peanut Mans were PERFECT...just the right flavor and texture. I also bought the Chicago Style popcorn...DELICIOUS!!!I spoke with the owner, Chris, over the phone and he was very pleasant and professional. Im glad to have found The Peanut Man and will be ordering again...and again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I eat here often as it is close to my office. Great food and very nice staff. The only downside is that they have very little on the menu that doesn’t have meat on it, and they do not discount at all to remove the meat from your order (or offer to exchange other ingredients to compensate). While it’s nice to be able to customize my order, frequently my salad still comes with bacon all over it or chicken still on the flatbread. It makes me feel wasteful to bring it back and ask for it to be remade. I would love if there was a veggie sandwich on the menu!

Beautiful space met with alumni from my college for a drop in. It was fun,great coffee and loads of yummy things to eat. Great place to have lunch with friends. If you are looking for Jelly Belly jellybeans they have them along with chocolate covered nuts/pretzels and flavored popcorn. Lovely jewel of a place!

Great fun place for kids. What kid doesnt like being surrounded by every candy? Its a bit pricey compared to a regular store, that sales candy but its the experience. I have not had the pleasure of trying their restaurant but plan to soon. The food looks great and there are gluten free options.

The food was delicious and they had a wide variety of food items to chose from! My favorite was one of the flatbreads. The Ambience was delightful, once you walked in it was captivating! After we ate we strolled through the candy room! They had a wide selection of new and old style of candy to chose from. Next time I think Ill try a coffee and dessert! The owner was out and about talking to his guest and being very pleasant! P.S. The ladies bathroom was bright and cheerful and clean thats always a plus! I would recommend this place for lunch or just coffee and dessert.

The Fococcia bread on the BLT has some sort of drug in it. I dont ask, I just hope the next day at work isnt my random drug screen. So so good. GREAT people and sensational food. I love the water station with cold water with lemons. Dont let the name fool you, its not just a tasty treats palace, its a respectable restaurant!

Its a great local spot in Columbia but close to Irmo! Ive had lunch a few times and dessert there too. It was all wonderful. For dessert I had a delicious chocolate/caramel/brownie cheesecake and it was probably one of the best pieces of cheesecake Ive had. The candy store has some unique choices too. Everything was delicious and the staff was super friendly and helpful!

I love The Peanut Man!! I was with a group at a conference for a week and a half, and we ate lunch at the cafe almost every day. The best part is there is so much variety in the menu, you can try something new each time. I did not have a bad meal. Sandwiches, salads, soups, flatbreads - all delicious! And the added bonus was the chocolate. Finally, the service is consistently great. I totally recommend this spot if you are in Columbia, SC.

Just had a delicious cup of Ethiopian coffee and some avocado toast! Great food in a beautiful environment. Oh, and on my way out I bought some freshly made hot chocolate stirrers- fun stocking stuffers.

The location was secluded and required some knowledge of the area to access. Upon entering, I was not greeted by any of the staff nor was I offered any assistance. Some of the items, No, a lot of the items are overpriced (Ex. Regular sized candy bars are priced at .40 cents more than any other store). Some of the items are left over from almost 2 months ago (Valentines Day) and still fully priced. Given todays experience, Im doubtful that I will return and I definitely wont recommend patronage there.

This has been my little favorite secret for months now. I love to sit in the room by the fireplace with a great cup of coffee and the Keto breakfast and enjoy the huge windows. Unfortunately it probably won’t be a secret for long because I tell everyone I know about this place. The food is always on point!Yesterday I hosted a huge work event and Chris created a masterpiece of food for 75 people: marinated pork loin, broccoli, and smashed potatoes with cookies and brownies. The price was perfect and EVERYONE asked me who catered!I love Ben and all the rest of the staff here too and they add to a great experience. Thank you for the amazing food and being amazing people to boot!

Wow just wow! Probably the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had. Curl your toes it’s so delicious! Boiled Pnuts are amazing and candy too! Fantastic date place! Atmosphere is also warm and inviting! Staff is so friendly! A new staple in the community! If you haven’t been here yet you absolutely have to try it!

Stopped in last Saturday out of curiosity and to take a break from traffic. Very pleasant surprise! They offer a nice selection of salads, soups, sandwiches, deliscious flat breads and desserts We had a tasty meal complemented by a Hersheys ice cream milk shake. Then we bought Christmas gifts of flavored popcorn and nuts which they shipped for us. Im going back for more visits to this beautiful, relaxed venue. I highly recommend you check it out!

I watched the owner talk with folks like they were part of the family! The rest of the staff was very friendly as well! I did purchase a small sample of their wares for myself and a few Christmas presents. Cant wait for my next stop in!
