Long story short, the customer service is extremely lacking. They cancelled a CC class on me last month. I was offered a refund, but I wanted to stay with them, so I rescheduled for the following month. I managed to injure my back on the Saturday prior to class. I called to speak with someone on that Saturday afternoon, but got an answering machine. I left a message, thinking they were busy and would get back to me. I tried again to reach out the following Sunday morning (8:00am) to try to speak to someone in regards to rescheduling, or attempting to keep the class with no answer. I tried to reach out multiple times after that, and finally got to speak with someone on the following Wednesday. The manager, Joe, is exceptionally rude. I attempted to explain my situation, only to have him cut me off at every question. Stating that they were closed on Saturday when I called. (Nowhere is it stated on their FB page, Google, website, or voicemail that this was the case. Apparently they are closed every other Saturday, by the way). And he inevitably hung up on me. I ended up having my other half call back on a three way call, only to listen to him state that I had berated him for 10 minutes (the initial call was 2:30). And to state that I didnt have the balls to take care of it myself. An attempt was made to speak with the owner, with no response.I get that they have bills to pay, but as a paying loyal customer, so do I. I was not offered any kind of compromise. I got a halfhearted sorry that I injured my back partway through my phone call. The form I signed covered the initial class they cancelled on me. I was not asked to come back in and sign a new one for the updated date. I also understand that the form stated to call prior to Friday if I needed to reschedule. However, this was out of my control, and I tried many times to even speak to someone to see what could be done prior to the class starting. I did not want to come to a class on painkillers or muscle relaxers when I knew there was range time.If I could give no or half a star, I would.

I read a few negative reviews and was a little hesitant to visit Target Masters, but once I walked in I immediately felt at ease. The staff was always very friendly, ready to talk shop, and ready to set me up with a lane. The range is great and almost never crowded. Sure, it can get warm, but you’re always able to take a break and cool down in the shop. They have a good selection of firearms for the size of shop, and the range fee/targets is very reasonable. To address some negativity…understand that you’re in a store that carries firearms. It’s not unreasonable to be asked to keep your hands from your pockets. Also, realize that how you present yourself when you enter can make or break your experience. Imagine how many people come in the stop just to look/play/touch a gun with no intention of buying, who also engage in unsafe firearm handling…if you’re new or don’t know what you want, just walk in and be honest about it.

I was looking for a carry/conceal purse, they had 6 or 8 styles to choose from and were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend checking them out. You may be able to find more variety/prices online, but having them in hand to test how your gun fits cant be beat.

I LOVE this range! Each time I visit, the people who work there teach me some new technique or information. If you need gunsmithing, there is no one better than James Wilson or Joe Gilbert. PERIOD. Once they get to know you, there is nothing they will not assist you with folks. You can spend all day learning from Tim Quick and Tony Ehler. Go and go often. Ask questions if you dont something about your firearm. That is how you build relationships with people. Trust and believe if you follow my above advice, you will love Target Masters too. Best range in Columbia bar none!

Went to shoot a couple guns to see which ones Im comfortable with and at first I didnt feel very welcomed and even felt like a burden but eventually the guy warmed up to me and trusted me enough to try my hand with a couple handguns and different types of bullets. It was a weird experience but it seems like all local gun stores are this way with newbies. I learned a lot from him and really appreciate the time he spent teaching me gun safety and good habits. Will definitely come back soon.

When moving from Alaska they were extremely helpful in transferring many of my handguns without me having to take them through Canada (which is a pain) and very reasonably priced. Their staff has been very professional and helpful. They have a nice indoor range located conveniently in Columbia. Like many others have previously stated it beats dealing with some of the yahoos that show up at the public ranges around Columbia (for the record; MOST of the people at the public ranges are courteous, safe and respectful -and I still go to these other places shoot other firearms). As Mentioned in previous posts the indoor range it not climate controlled but It sure beats shooting in windy conditions, dealing with nasty weather working around other people and their shooting habits, target retrieval, etc.In short, it you want a nice, safe, clean place to shoot out of the weather with an nice atmosphere this is a great place to shoot!

From out of town and wanted to go shoot, heard this was this only indoor range in town open to the public. Met the owner and he was friendly and knowledgable set me up in a jiffy. Had a good time, no issues, clean, safe range, with a wide selection, a lot of people there already early in the morning. I guess its a small town seemed like they all know each other.

First time handgun buyer. Went there at the recommendation of Bass Pro to test a few guns before buying. I let the tall guy know it was my first time at a commercial range but have experience with other firearms. And he looked at me like I said 2+2=8. Instant feeling of being unwelcome. Shorter guy with long hair was much friendlier and easier to ask questions about how each handgun I tried was different. He saved this review from being a total 1 star.

Ive had good and bad experiences here. The range is decent enough, but the price just like the prices on pretty much everything except consignment guns, is too high. The high prices is most of the reason I rated 2 stars, but a couple of times Barry treated me like I was peon and like he was Gods gift to the community. Thankfully I havent seen him for a while.

Attempted to transfer a firearm from Oklahoma to Missouri the safest and most legal way possible, but got nothing but unprofessionalism and insults from what I assume is upper management or owner. Would not recommend and will not be back. Its worth noting that after I posted this review, they wrote reviews on my Brokerages Facebook page (I am a realtor), which were completely dishonest. Just re-affirms the child like mentality that is running this place.

I have had nothing but good experiences here.Prices are comparable to what I would pay online for most items, except I dont have to wait for it to be shipped and I can get test it out out in the store (invaluable when looking for a new holster). The gentlemen that work there have been extremely knowledgeable and friendly - always willing to share their experience and help meet your needs.Only indoor range in the area, makes for comfortable shooting, year round. And its extremely affordable - I used to pay 2x as much when I lived elsewhere. All in all - this is my first, and usually last, stop for all my firearm and defensive carry needs.

I went there and wanted to test a gun I was considering to purchase, this was the fastest 75 dollars I have ever spent.. 16 dollars for you to use a lane is a little much.. The price of everything else seemed decent but imagine about 5 trips to the range you can buy your own gun, ammo, and targets and go finger lakes and have a blast. I wont be back unless I win the lottery tonight

Ignore the negative reviews. The staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. The range is not climate controlled but it is out of the weather. You can move your targets to the desired distance and check them at will. They will require you to use their ammo in their rentals to protect their guns. They are not a wholesaler of ammo and need to sell at a price to make a profit. If you want cheap, buy you own gun, search for ammo, go to Finger Lakes, wait for a lane in the weather, be constrained at checking and changing targets by waiting for the line to clear and hope there are some target holders left that are not shot all to h***. You get what you pay for.

Noticing the dust cover was open i closed it, then this charlie foxtrot came out and said if you dont want to be looking down a barrel dont cycle the bolt! I was shocked and responded i wouldnt recommend pulling a firearm on someone for no reason! All i can say is that fellow shouldnt be armed, what an idiot! In the end they lost the sale of two ar rifles, i wont be using there range and i WILL BE TELLING EVERY one i meet not to go there!

I´ve been to Target Masters several times, and each time they were very friendly and helpful. I especially like that they have ladies´ night. On the first Monday of every month ladies get to use the range for free and only have to pay for the target (assuming that they bring their own gun, and ear and eye protection). It does get a little warm in the shooting area; as someone else already mentioned, it isn´t very climate controlled, but all in all it isn´t that bad. I highly recommend that for someone wanting to use an indoor shooting range that they go and check the place out.

Terrible service from Rick! Ive been in the market for a smaller handgun. When I asked about a size difference between the barrel lengths of two guns I had side by side he said they were the same, contrary to what I was just told at bass pro where I was unable to have two out. I said thats weird I was under the impression- he cuts me off and responds, are you here to question me or are you here to buy a gun? I said Im not making my purchase tod- and he cut me off again responding with, thats what I thought and proceeds to take the guns off the table. I tried to repeat, Im not buying one today but am in the initial stages of-, No you come in here questioning me, I already told you- So I tried explaining my experience I just had at bass pro and he again cuts me off telling me it doesnt matter. So I told him he was being unhelpful and arbitrary to which he told me I needed to leave. And gladly I excepted his request never to return again, and hopefully to deter others from visiting this bitter and condescending staff. Not only do I believe target masters should be avoided but I find it particularly disturbing that someone so ill-tempered and capricious owns a gun.

So many problems where to begin...1)WAY WAAAAY over priced on firearms, rentals, and ammunition.2)They only let you use their quality clean ammunition but who cares since they aparently NEVER clean their rental guns. I had to break down the 1911 and wipe it out. There was so much build up it wouldnt cycle.3)Their gunsmith is a joke. I originally came in because I needed to get the rear sight on my 1911 adjusted (shooting to the left). I left it with them and went over to get some food. Came back only to find they had just pounded on it with a steel punch (not brass) so they had damaged the finish. WORST they had moved the rear sight to the left making it even WORST. They still charged me $35 and I had to go home and use my own brash punch to fix the problem. Defeated the whole point of going to a professional to avoid damaging the finish....4)Over the last 1.5 years I have gone in to get price quotes on different firearms i was looking at ordering and to use the range when it is raining out. Every time I ask about a military discount and EVERY time they say they are working on it and should have something worked out soon.5)After a CCW teacher got LEAD POISONING from their indoor range they had to shut it down for months. They now have ventilation.

Target Masters is the only indoor shooting range in Columbia, although I will caution you that there is no heating/cooling in the shooting area; its less climate controlled and more windproofed. Honestly, this doesnt bother me as its the wind that really gets me in the cold, but I have heard grumblings about this before so I thought Id mention it here. Great for shooting handguns and .22 rifles, but any bigger rifle calibers (as well as some large handgun calibers like .50) and youll have to head elsewhere. Also note that steel-cased ammo is not allowed on this range (aluminium and other non-brass casings are okay, though). Perhaps the most convenient offering is the ability to rent a gun to shoot with, which can be very helpful when deciding on buying a new firearm. Many people complain about the price of a lane rental, and to you I say... youre right! Thats why you should buy a membership! Members dont pay lane fees! Its $200 for the first year, which is admittedly a bit expensive, but consider that itll pay for itself 12 visits... so if you go shooting once a month, it pays for itself. After the first year, its only $120. A lot of people say Oh well you can shoot for free at Finger Lakes... well, thats true, but Im guessing those people havent been at Finger Lakes when the idiots come out to play. :) Everyone has to start somewhere, but I can only take so many utterings of the phrase Finger off the trigger five feet away from me before I become somewhat concerned for my safety. If youre looking for somewhere to take a concealed carry class, this is definitely the place to go. You can get the training cheaper elsewhere, but Target Masters class is, in my opinion, a good blend of price point and instruction. I definitely came out of that class having learned a lot about the finer aspects of concealed carry, and actually got enough food for thought that I waited to start obtaining my CCW... it truly is a responsibility that you undertake to protect people around you! These guys arent without their shortcomings, but if youre looking for a place to shoot year-round without worrying about the yahoos youll see from time to time at the public ranges, pick up a membership; your trigger finger will thank you. :)

Do not put your gun on consignment with Target Master – They will charge you a $25.00 transfer fee to get your gun back if they don’t sell it. Something that was not explained to us when we put the gun in for Consignment. We put a Smith and Wesson M@P Shield 9MM on consignment with Target Master in early December and it did not sell. So, in early March, we went back to pick it up and had to pay $25.00 to get our gun back. They called it a transfer fee. Really! a gun shop cannot sell a 9MM M@P Shield after 3 months and then charges a long-time customer $25.00 to get it back doesn’t make sense. Very disappointing. Last point, we sold the gun within three hours after getting it back from Target Master after three months of them not being able to sell it. DO NOT CONSIGN WITH TARGET MASTER.
