If you like ice cream and that nostalgic 1930s feeling, this is the place to go. I love their flavors of ice cream. So much to choose from
Delicious caramel ice cream in a plain waffle cone. Generous serving size. Friendly staff and clean shop. A little on the expensive side for ice cream, but this is Coronado, after all. My only real complaint was the cone. It was fresh and crispy to about 2/3 of the way down and then became kind of chewy. My wifes dipped waffle was not crispy until she reached below the dipped part. Both leaked out the bottom, and my ice cream kept dripping down the outside seam, so the eating process was a bit of a hassle. If I didnt live 3 states away, I would return again soon, but probably opt for something in a dish.
So many yummy flavors to choose from! Stopped in with our family after a day at the beach. Only thing that would have made our visit better is having some shade provided over the outdoor tables.
This is the Ice Cream Parlor to visit when youre in Coronado, California. It is a great spot for a mid-day ice cream cone, after dinner dessert, or just when you have a hankering for a sundae. Lots of flavors to choose from and multiple selections on the menu will give everybody something to choose from. Brownies, bananas, ice cream, sodas, or cones its just so ridiculous that its what makes it America awesome 👌😋😜😀😎
One of the best spots to stop for that mouthwatering iceceam on a hot sunny day. Their banana split is just amazing and can definitely be shared between two people. There is seating outside as well, and you can enjoy your delicacies while relaxing outside and watching the traffic go by.
So many creamy flavors to choose from!
The best birthday cake ice cream I have had. I highly recommend.
Not that great. I’m a huge ice cream lover and saw lots of reviews about this place, especially in articles like “must go places in San Diego” and it’s super overrated. Just normal ice cream.I live in San Diego and I wouldn’t go again. Nothing special really. Not bad, just not incredible.I got toasted coconut and brownie batter flavored ice cream and my husband got just vanilla and some cookie concoction thing. Again, nothing special.
The ice cream flavors are fresh and tasty. Located in downtown Coronado. Prices are affordable.
One of the Best Ice cream Places in all of San Diego. Though the Ice cream can be found around SD its a excellent experience and Cookie monster is Amazing.
It is good but quite expensive. Nado Gelato is still my go to dessert shop.
Wow for having such a huge line they were so fast at getting though it! The Ice cream was absolutely delicious. I can not wait to go back
Love this place! We tried six different flavors and all of them were delicious. I love the retro vibe.
Do not go here after8 because they close the doors so employees can have restaurant empty by nine imagine rushing your kids out to get there for 8.45 and your told that because they have too much business to close by 9. Nice problem to have. Horrible customer service can not make up for any product no matter how good it is.
Delicious ice cream. Many flavors. Worth a visit.
Ice cream was good. Staff was rude. I have walked by here probably a hundred times and finally decided it was an ice cream day. Staff was pushy and expected us to make a decision before we even knew what they had. If the line was long I could understand, but there was no line. It is not great enough ice cream that I would go back again.
Amazing ice cream creations! But the portions are huge for the price, so consider sharing!
Perfect spot to stop at on a hot day. All their flavors are great, but maybe a little sweeter for some. Prices arent too bad and you get a good serving for each size. There are only 4 barstools inside, but a few tables outside on the street. Be prepared for a bit of lines, but they move fast. They also have specialty shakes and sundaes.
Good ice cream, but the stone where they mix toppings isnt cold, so your ice cream is melted by the time you get it. Coldstone Creamery is better
The ice cream is definitely great quality ice cream - thick, creamy and rich. Its also a premium price - $6 for a tiny single scoop. I dont mind paying for quality but $6 for a tiny scoop is pushing my limits of what Ill pay.
One if our favorite places on Coronado....fantastic ice creams and more...so many yummy flavors and combination options to choose from.
I mean it’s not a bad place for ice cream but it was not the high quality I was expecting for how many people suggested it and I thought the portions would be large like at normal ice cream places where one scoop is like two and they barely put whipped cream on it. The real rating is like 2.5.
The only complaint that they were out of all flavors they had advertised and we wanted (no coffee, Stracciatella or Nutella). The crown sundae was huge and tasted really good
We came into town specifically for a delicious cone of ice cream. We rushed to the store and arrived at 8:47pm. We were turned away by a young man stating that he was told to start not letting customers in at 8:30pm even though the posted hours said they close at 9:00pm. There was no manager on-site and he not only refused the 5 of us, but also group of young sweet girls who were also in from out of town just for the ice cream. Shame on you Moo Time. Too bad you couldn’t take a page out of Gelato Paradiso’s book who greeted us with smiles and open doors.
My sister and her family have been in Coronado for a few years now and she kept saying how great this establishment is. My wife and I were finally able to make it down there over Memorial Day weekend and it definitely lived up to the hype
The ice cream was good! not the customer service! I know they just opened back up n stuff but the employees that were there on my visit lack in customer service. Not that I expect alot from an ice cream place but at least be nice to the customers .
A great, family-friendly ice cream shop with a good selection of flavors and other offerings like ice cream sandwiches and shakes. Prices are not too high for the relatively large portions you get. The kids-portions are a nice option. The store is on Orange, the main thoroughfare, so parking can be a little hard to find, depending on the time of the day you decide to visit.
Great ice cream with an assortment of favorite flavors alongside some you might not have tried before. Grab a spoon and stroll up Orange with a treat.
We all had great floats.
Great quality you can taste
Expensive, but you get a good portion. Id suggest splitting a large Sunday between two people. Pretty standard ice cream, but the James Brownie was yummy.
We enjoyed being able to visit our favorite local ice cream shop during COVID19 restrictions. The staff took great care keeping customers and themselves safe. Usually theres a wait and its hard to get a table. We must have gone at a good time because there was no wait. There were also no tables available to eat at, but wed planned to not eat there anyway so no big deal. Its a small place and social distancing isnt easy.I bumped them down a star because they dont have ingredient lists available for customers to read if needed. Due to allergies, one in our party was only able to choose between the four flavors they had an ingredient list for, and 3 of those contained allergens. So that left one choice. At least there was that so she wasnt left out...Oh, and parking is a bear. Be prepared to walk a ways unless you get lucky.
Be careful because they don’t put the prices of the Moo Pies on the menu so you’ll end up getting one only to find out that it’s $7. I had another ice cream cookie sandwich from somewhere else in San Diego for $4, and it was also a lot better. There were a lot of ice cream flavors here, but none to make it stand out from anywhere else and I thought the cookies for my ice cream sandwich weren’t that fresh.
Awesome ice cream treats.
Big shop, with a lot of people coming and going. Their creams are good, have just enough sugar to satisfy your sweet tooth but not tiring you of it.Tried Belgian Chocolate, Chocolate and Banana w/ Nutella.Chocolate flavors were good, but pretty trivial. Banana w/ Nuttela had an artificial flavor to the cream but HUGE chuncks of chocolate on it. You literally had to bite through them, and they tasted pretty good.
Good ice cream. Huge portions. One brownie sundae will feed 3 ppl easily.
The ice cream was good, but was a bit disappointed with their sundae. It was just two scoops of ice cream on top of a brownie. Nothing too fancy.
It was good, really long wait time.
Great, creamy home made ice cream. Their cookies are freshly baked and are excellent to make ice cream sandwiches with as well.
Well, except for the impressively long line to get in, it was a great experience. Best ice cream Ive had. 🙂
The ice cream is always good, and they keep the line moving.
Great ice cream spot.
I looooove this place! They have lots of ice cream flavors! My favorite is the black cherry vanilla! This spot is something I consider to be a hidden gem of Coronado! The customer service is always nice! Ooohhh, if you see a long line dont hesitate to still go. Normally, the line go by fast! Everybody should try this place out!
This is the best ice cream! I would recommend taking a look at the menu prior to visiting to be more familiar. Felt rushed to make a quick decision in line so just went with a classic and wasnt disappointed at all. I cant imagine how tasty some of the more exotic flavors are. If youre craving something sweet, stop in here for dessert.
Absolutely delicious! Had the peanut butter mootaco and it was phenomenal.
Used to have better service.
Though there was a rather lengthy line, it was totally worth the wait. Not only is the ice cream great, the people working are very friendly.
Was so excited to get some ice cream went with some friends since I wasn’t driving all day I decided to pay for everyone’s ice cream while they were getting their ice cream I just stood my the cash register waiting for them to be done i tried talking to her asked her how her day was going and waited there so I could pay, the girl which I don’t remember her name rolled her eyes at me ! Very rude I apologized for taking long she said it’s fine don’t worry I noticed she had attitude I work in a fast food restaurant little does she know I would never have that kind of attitude towards a costumer felt very awful, I could’ve made a big deal but I didn’t wish she was nicer everyone there just seemed to not care at all good ice cream ! just not worth the bad service we’re just costumers trying to get ice cream like smiling and acting a bit nice wouldn’t hurt nobody
Cute ice cream shop. They were working well with Covid regulations only allowing a few people in at a time. Ice cream was good also.
The ice cream needed more creamy
The ice cream selection here is simply mind boggling, and there is a sweet satisfaction in so much choice--several dozen flavors or so--and presentated with far more creativity than mere cone or spoon: think extravagant cookie and brownie concoctions, locally-famous ice cream tacos, and more! Upon entering this small black and white-tiled ice cream shop on Orange Avenue, the brightly lit glass-case counters burst to the door with a Kaleidoscope of disordered rainbows, ice cream so overwhelming as to invite expressions of childhood curiosity even in fully grown adults. My advice to you hesitant patrons out there: to truly enjoy this place you must be prepared to feel more than you think--point the conscientious clerk to whatever catches your eye, and dont worry too much about the well-deserved price or the probability of a few deliciously earned pounds; you will be rewarded here for coming, no matter the choice.
Delicious flavors and the ice cream Taco was my favorite
Ice cream was honestly one of the worst I have ever had, very expensive and the people aren’t very friendly.
Nice place, 50s Americana vibe. Good selection of good ice cream. Nothing amazing. If you want some classic ice cream or you want something thatd be great for your kids this place fits the bill.
Dont get the ice cream sandwich the cookies are stale, old and too hard to eat.
Just one word: delicious!
Really really good ice cream and sorbet
Great ice cream. Best vanilla malt ever. Been coming here 25 years.
Great place to bring the kids
The ice cream is great, but the employees are rude every time I go.
The best ice cream in San Diego! My kids love Silly Vanilla (bright blue) and my husband and I love it all! Definitely try the choco taco! Their vanilla is the best Ive ever had!
Outstanding ice cream!
My son had the chocolate ice cream on a cone. He liked it a lot.
Was super glad we found this place. Had the dessert nachos. Delicious! Kids had milkshakes... dynamite! Line was long, staff was professional and worked hard to get the orders done. I thought the prices were reasonable.
Best icecream I have ever had!
Boyfriend and my first time here. Been anticipating it for some time. It did not disappoint. Cup or cone, lighter flavors such as strawberry or mango sorbet tantalize the palate. (Boyfriends pick) I chose banana and birthday cake. The snozeberries taste like snozeberries on my case the banana taste like it. Birthday cake taste like the cakes in 90s we would have with sprinkles. Nostalgic to say the least. Lol I cant wait to come back on an ice cream date to try the moopies (ice cream sandwiches).
Great icecream, rude server behind the counter, slammed my order on the counter .
Best ice cream in San Diego!
The ice cream is amazing! My favorite is the monkey lover. The staff is very friendly.
My wife couldnt stop giggling and smiling while we were there and while we were actually eating the ice cream. Really fun creations. Fair priced. Big fan.
This is a Coronado Classic. If youre visiting or havent been here you absolutely must. Their ice cream and other treats are absolutely fantastic!
I love going here whenever Im hanging out at the beach in Coronado. So many different options for flavors and add ins! Moo time is the best!👍
