The rude and unhelpful employees at the Corvallis gamestop lied to customers guaranteeing them either a brand new xbox or playstation and instead purchased the consoles themselves.

A great spot for local apes to spend tendies before or after a trip to Moon. They usually have a good selection of used games for such a small shop. And no they dont have an Xbox X or PlayStation 5 in stock but check @gamestop on twitter and they announce when they have new stock available on the website. They still sell out within minutes.

Customer service here is terrible. I went to go and pick up a gears of war 4 edition red controller and the 2 controllers that were there were awful. They then said it wasn’t even their obligation to do this and that I couldn’t get that controller. Let me just say that this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced and I didn’t even get the gears of war 4 controller. TERRIBLE

Oh where do I begin. From time to time GameStop has either given me a good deal or overcharged me unnecessarily, but its retail right? It happens. Today I was selling my unwanted console. The guy helping me was unknowledgeable with their inventory, system, and the little tricks to making stuff go easier for a customer. After having to dig for the receipt on the controller I was selling back with the console that I recently purchased because it didnt show in the system but it did send me an email after I purchased it 🙄 I let him know I was fustrated on how he was handling it. And I guess he thought we were cool like that because he got huffy, started complaining about his feelings, accused me of being difficult, THEN mentioned he was new at the return system stuff (maybe shouldve said something earlier!!)and refused service to me. Luckily his coworker saw that not once had I raised my voice, used any profanity, or showed the typical hostile mannerisms that would warrant refusal. So hey GameStop, either train people to be able to do stuff before allowing them to do stuff, or at least hire people who understand retail. Because THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. You do whatever within reason to keep their business. And I have a big mouth, dont think I just only wrote this review. Ive called and texted and will talk about this. Ill be going to local places and supporting the small business from now on. And Ill be encouraging others to do the same

Theres one tall guy (sorry I dont know your name) who is SO nice. Hes very helpful and never makes me feel stupid for my stupid questions. Hes not overbearing but some how always knows when you need help. Thank you!

I enjoyed it, the only good place to get video games in Corvallis, but I feel like the prices are a little... pricey? If you know what i mean. Because if I go to gamestop and get oooh lets say something for a Nintendo switch thats $40 there its $20 on the Nintendo eshop but overall, nice selection of games, just a little pricey

One day they opened an hour late. I then had to wait even longer for registers to open. There always seems to be a lack of employees when it gets busy as well. Waiting in line while someone is talking about games ahead of you for a half hour when you just want to make a quick purchase isnt great service at all. If you are busy, please keep the conversation minimal until some customers are done with their purchases. Have the customer move to the side if you would like to talk more with them. Either that, or have 2 employees working during busy hours.

Ive never had a problem with anything at this Gamestop.

They open the new games for display now so that they dont get stolen. I get that. What I dont get is that those are the same games the employees take home to play and then bring back and those now used games are still sold as new because the codes in the boxes havent been used.

Friendly staff, great place to get games. You can also trade in games, if youre in to that. The rewards card is a great idea if you visit often, but note that the pro discount applies to used games and accessories only, not new games.

Never have i been treated so poorly by a business. After the last midnight release i went to it sealed the deal. I will never step foot in a Game stop again. I can completely see why big box stores are pushing Game stop out. Game stop is not selling things you can only get from them. And i will go ANYWHERE else then go back there. I will not tolerate being treated like garbage by rude people. Yes you are busy, you should be well aware of this and calm down.

Typically what I expect from a gamestop, though honestly the workers at this gamestop are always full of quality insight and knowledge. I didnt even know Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice had a deluxe edition with a statue until speaking with them. As with most gamestop stores Im a little underwhelmed by the selection for games and accessories but the workers here make the visit worth it.

I bought a Google play giftcard Thursday December 5th 2019 and I tried multiple times to redeem it and it keeps on saying Error this is a scam.

So expensive! Came here for used Xbox360 games. Their $15 and under selection is old sports games and B listers. The few good games that they had were $30, used! I went home and found the same game on Gamestops website, $30 new. Their used games are a practically-new price that is easily beaten online. Dont waste your money

If you have an xbox were a PlayStation this is the place for you. If you have a PC however dont go there theres nothing for PC theres no games or components that you can get for your computer. However if you have an Xbox or Playstation and this is heaven. They have everything from controllers two games too hard drives. They also carry a large amount of collectors item if youre interested however the crowd there is usually not very comfortable to be around in the place is always full and loud.

It would help me if I could have good direction to GameStop.

They are very nice there and always are ready to help anyone. Only problem being they only gave me 5 bucks for 5 dis games.

I have been buying my steam controllers at Gamestop. When my controller dongle was not working properly, I was able to exchange for a working unit.Both of my steam controllers are physically defective in multiple ways. The battery door also functions as buttons on the back side, both of my controllers have broken latch/hinges so the cover/buttons no longer stay attached to the units. One controller has a loose battery slot, which causes in-game disconnection. The other has a button that no longer functions properly.I tried to exchange them for working units today at the Corvallis OR Gamestop at 10:00AM. The guy working told me he would not exchange them and would not help me. I told him that it sounds like their company no longer needs my money, he seemed fine with that.I am the head of household of a family of hardcore gamers. We spend a lot of money on gaming, but Gamestop will no longer be receiving any of that money from my family due to horrible customer service. Thanks for nothing Gamestop, you lost a family of paying customers.

I called this business to ask if they had the sims 2 PC game and was put on hold while they went to check. 20 minutes later I was still on hold. I decided to just go down to the store to look for it in person. When I got there I went up to the desk and told the man I talked to that he never answered my question and had left me on hold. He was not apologetic and said that he hated it when that happened, suggesting that Im not the only customer he has left dangling on the phone. He never even looked for the game, saying the store had gotten busy while I was waiting for him. When I finally got him to check the computer for the game he took only a few seconds to conclude that they didnt have it and havent for years. I was very dissatisfied with the customer service of this store or I should say the lack of it. I will not be going back.

First off, a little background: Gamestop will never, ever get 5 stars from me. Im philosophically opposed to their business model. I have no issue with capitalism; I have an issue with a company in the gaming industry creating a monopoly through attrition, not to mention even knowing what got them there in the first place. Absolutely abysmal. First bad experience was when I was trying to sell an Android phone in perfect working condition; the employees made me go out and buy a brand-new sim card, handled the phone very roughly, accidentally soft-locked the phone, and took no responsibility. I had to reboot it in my own time and sold it to another Gamestop, where I had no problems at all, and DID NOT need a sim card. Second bad experience was trying to trade in a game and buy another game. I found Punchout!! on the bargain shelf only to have the cashier say Were you trying to buy [generic sports game]? This is in the wrong slipcase, its not on sale, thatll be $24.95 for Punchout. Cashier called me rude in a very snarky way when I said that its incompetent to stock that on the sale rack where all the orange slipcases look exactly the same; it was waste of my time and his. Staff are generally rude and snarky about problems and take no responsibility for anything. I would not recommend this Gamestop location unless youre desperate.

Update Feb 2018Management seems to have changed since my initial review and the result is a much friendlier and less pushy staff of sales people. They do their normal reserve/sub routine, since they are commanded to by corporate, but its not as invasive as it once was.While I generally do not have problems at Gamestops, especially considering I used to be a supervisor at one, this place has really upset me. I have been in on multiple occasions and have found the staff to be very pushy when it comes to their subscription card. I underatand a lot of their stats directly translate to them actually getting hours to work (if you dont get good stats, you get less hours the following week), but no means no. Not sure if corporate or district policy is forcing this aggressive attitude but I will not come to this location anymore if I can help it. The Albany store seems to be much friendlier and less pushy but I will no longer subscribe at gamestop anymore. Besides, when Amazon prime gets you 20% off pre-ordered games, reservations at gamestop seem much less worthwhile.
