Ron was super helpful and friendly. He not only knows a bunch about guitars, he is an accomplished musician himself. The shop is beautiful, well kept, clean and organized. I could have gazed at the instruments for awhile....just as beautiful as an art gallery! Definitely a must see as you stroll in downtown Corvallis.

So this place only provides instruments that they stand behind, the lifetime service on a new purchase, the help you get from the guys, it’s unmatched!! I just purchased two guitars there yesterday and they are the best guitars I’ve ever played. I just can’t say better things about them!! They encourage you to play the guitars and make you feel comfortable to just play and get to know the guitars. If you ask if I’ll buy my gear here again, this may be the only place I buy another guitar besides the last one I buy, I owe that to another store as it was where I bought my first guitar! 😊. Kirk the owner regular works shifts and answers the phone. I fact Ive only seen one other person work there and they were kind and knowledgeable. Stopped in to browse for ukuleles and had a great conversation and education about various companies. The owner knows his product and it shows!!He also recommended a lunch place (we went... it was EVERYTHING he said it would be: 4 Spirits Distillery).Anyways, he didn’t have the size uke I was looking for (tenor) but my wife needed lunch. I couldn’t buy an instrument but I needed to give this guy some business in this reopening during COVID-19, so I bought a capo.Go shop there.

Love this place. I take lessons here and I have a great teacher who is super fun. Ive bought 2 guitars here for a great quality and price. The people there really know how to make a guitar stand out from the rest.

Great the guy who helped me was knowledgeable about the amp and took care of other people who came in and was noce to every single person.

This place was pretty good overall. The owner was nice and has some cool guitars in there. My main problem with the place is that is is really small, and also kind of plain so it feels like an office lobby. I think if the walls were decked out with cool posters it could be a lot better. Great work on my acoustic. Got the bridge sanded down and adjusted. Looks good and the difference in the action is night and day. Kurt knows his stuff and is a great guy to boot.

I rarely post reviews online, but feel compelled to do so for Kurt and his staff. I have purchased guitars, had repair work and taken lessons with Kurt since 2014. Always very professional and top notch service. I highly recommend anyone in the market for a new guitar or ukelele to stop by and check them out. Kurt is a fantastic guy, and is very knowledgeable. Store is a tad small, but hes done the large store thing, and this seems to be his niche. He is a joy to work with, and willing to just discuss options or even just hang out if thats what you need. 100% loyal customer for as long as Im in the area.

I cant recommend this store enough. I had my equipment stolen and needed a new guitar quick. Bullfrog Music had the biggest selection of Alvarez guitars so I decided to make the trip from Portland to Corvallis. I explained my situation to the owner Curt and he actually agreed to meet me hours after closing for me to try out guitars. A few weeks later a minor adjustment needed to be made on my new guitar - Curt made it a high priority and had it fixed same day within minutes. This is the type of customer service that sets Bullfrog Music apart! I will absolutely make the drive to Bullfrog for any guitar purchases.

Bullfrog music is my favorite music store in the United States. Kurt will give you excellent advice and I have rarely met someone with such good ears. He chooses instruments with excellent tone and playability. He also does excellent guitar work and treats all instruments with respect. I still come to Bullfrog whenever I am in Oregon.

Kurt is one of the better guitar techs in the area. If you buy a guitar from Bullfrog, he’ll do free set ups on it as long as you own it. I play hard, and that agreement with Kurt is worth every penny!

There are some great guitar techs here in Eugene. With that said, if one of my Breedloves needs an adjustment, I make the drive up to CV to see Kurt. Hes extremely knowledgeable/helpful/friendly, and he does great work! I also really like the new shop, theres a lot more space.

The owner Kurt runs and owns an awesome shop! Kurt is a super genuine dood that knows about his music; amps, acoustic guitars, electric guitars you name it. The other day I walked in to his store and I told him that I was having trouble restringing my Stratocaster with a tremolo bridge, and was asking him if he had any tips for me. He ended up helping me restring the guitar and walked me through step by step free of charge, plus he recommended some killer strings. The shop also has great products to choose from whether if youre looking for electric or acoustic guitars!

Kurt, is, so, NICE! He set my wife up with a killer Alvarez some years ago and Ive sent several of my friends there. He works within your budget/needs/wants without an ounce of pressure or BS. Fantastic experience every time. You have to drop by the shop.

One of the best little guitar shops on the west coast. You’ll find the cream of the crop here, as well as affordable strummers for all styles of player. Best part is: you get to try before you buy. Kurt is an excellent resource for the discerning player. My requirements are ultra-low action, cutaway, and balanced tone and timbre. All requiements met. Ten years latsr, I am still playing the guitar I bought from Kurt. Hopefully I will find my next one here, too.

I took a vintage guitar to them to be rebuilt; had a reasonable quote, decided to give them a try. Nearly 2 years later, it cost almost double the quote, and fell apart within a year. Its now getting re-rebuilt at an even greater expense. Careful with your valuables around this guy...

I bought a Gibson Explorer online that was unplayable. I was planning on selling it but knew it would need a solid tune-up. I took it to Kurt and now the thing plays like a dream - Im now having second thoughts on selling it. In addition Bullfrog carries a wonderful selection of new and used instruments. Im a fan of Breedlove and Bullfrog usually has a nice selection of their guitars and mandolins.

I will have to say. Ive been a musician for 30 years here in the valley. Ive known Kurt Dietrich since 1989 when he was with Dave Huddleston at Pro Sho music. which was the best music store in town at the time. Kurt is a straightup guy and does excellent work on guitars for a fair price. I highly recommend him.

Really great shop with interesting stock. The owner carries lots smaller name brands like Breedlove. Has some interesting pedals and capos too. Very nice guy to talk to. Helpful in selecting equipment and whatnot.I have not used his luthier services but I plan to. Will likely update review at that time.

@Patrick; Im certain that youre talking about Troubadour Music, not Bullfrog! Now, THAT store should be avoided at all costs! Ive heard too many horror stories, just like yours... I just stay away from that store and its owner...Bullfrog Music is the best music store in Corvallis, hands down! Kurt is very knowledgeable and extremely gracious; he is one of the few guitar technicians with whom I would trust my hand-built acoustic guitars...On several occasions, Kurt has helped me with small issues with one of my instruments... and refused any payment! He offers FREE Lifetime setups on any guitar bought new from him... how cool is that?!When I first came to Corvallis, I immediately checked out all the guitar/music stores in town... because of the location and exterior, Bullfrog was the last one I looked into, and I quickly realized that it is quite a special little store... not a TON of inventory, but theres a lot packed into that shop!It has been a LONG time since Ive had a music store to hang out in; a place to chat, play guitars and feel very comfortable doing that... Bullfrog is that sort of shop!

Loved the place the minute I walked in. Its a small shop but has the best quality guitars and amps. The prices are a lot of the time close to half off because he does consignment as well. Kurt is really the most friendly guy Ive met in a while, and he KNOWS his stuff. Does repairs onsite as well. Go see The Captain!

Not only does Kurt sell guitars in an honest and straightforward way (his shop is the only one I have been to that has a trade up/buy back policy -- I saw him talk a young man down to a lesser model for now, and should the kid continue he was willing to give him full retail credit to trade up later, where else could you find such caring and personal service.) he is an excellent service technician. From small repairs to major overhauls, he knows guitars. When my M. Hohner acoustic needed a new nut, he custom fabricated one from a larger nut at no extra charge. He loves to see everyone enjoying music.Can he compete with online shops in price alone? Of course not! Can he help you find what you need and give the support required for success? Came in for help with my ukulele and Gibson. He was very upfront about how he didnt have what he needed to repair my ukulele and suggested another good shop. He then took apart my Gibson and since it was a really simple problem he fixed it for free. Fantastic shop.

Patrick, Im betting you got your music stores mixed up in your review. What you describe sounds more like the MO of Troubadour Music. I know... Ive worked in all four music stores in Corvallis. Bullfrog is small, but its top-rate, square and fair, and great guitar work.

I like this shop because they get used guitars and so you never know what youll find. Played some vintage Martin and Gibson guitars which was pretty awesome. They have new stuff too.

Ive known Kurt since I moved to Corvallis in 1995, during the last 22 years, and a few locations, he has always been fair, honest and truthful.It doesnt matter if youre a seasoned professional like Victor Wooten who I met there when he played a summer music festival with Bella Fleck and the Flecktones, or a novice looking to learn cords and buy your first instrument, youre going to be treated well.
