Let me just say, look no further!!! I’ve been resort diving for over twenty years and have dove with numerous different outfits and Mike & Ludek’s operation is hands down the best!!! My wife, friend and I all got our open water certification and I couldn’t say enough good things. From the training and help purchasing the right gear, I was so impressed and will use Dive and Photo for any of my scuba diving needs.

Rented some gear from them for a recent Catalina trip. Cannot recommend their customer service enough. They were super helpful and knowledgeable. When I lost a part to a reg they didn’t overcharge for a replacement and were super understanding. Thanks for being divers that help divers.

I’ve used a few dive shops in Orange County for courses and renting tanks to get a feel before picking a favorite. Dive and Photo has always been professional and knowledgeable without trying to pressure me to purchase more than I’m interested in. Tanks have always been full and it’s an easy pick up and drop off process. So grateful to have them as my local dive shop!

Mike Faust is a patient and through dive instructor. He taught my son, who has Autism, and I in a positive and fun way. He will go the extra mile to make sure that you understand the important rules in diving and that you are competent in your diving skills!

Went in expecting to spend well over what I did. I found it very honorable that he wasnt trying to sell me the most expensive products that I was looking for, he was actually recommending that I buy some of the less pricy goggles/fins. Nonetheless, I will be recommending Dive & Photo to anyone that is interested in diving.

Every time I have gone in the shop I always feel welcomed. I got my Divers Certification from here and Ludek made it very easy to get it as well as working with my schedule and what times and days worked for me. When I was doing my dives Mike taught me things I never would have thought about that is involved with diving. He did whatever it took to meet my needs and make sure I was comfortable in the water. Overall the best dive shop in Orange County. I will continue to go there for what I need.

I am so happy I found this dive shop! I was looking to complete my open water certification VERY quickly for an upcoming vacation (in ~2 weeks). Ludek and Mike worked quickly to accommodate my timeline seamlessly.I did not expect to turn scuba into a hobby; I just wanted the convenience of being certified for vacations. However, I had such a great experience, I am already enrolled in the advanced certification course! I cannot wait to participate in more dives with the Dive & Photo team. :)

This is a great company. I had a small issue with the Sea & Sea strobe I received and Ludek replaced it immediately. He stands by the products he sells. I was so impressed with his service that I called him up and we put together a complete tray and arm system for my Olympus underwater housing. We used a local California brand he recommends called Beneath The Surface. He took the time to explain every component and helped me select the best configuration for my needs. Hope to do more business with them soon.

Just wrapped up my open water certification today thru D&P and I couldn’t be more happy and impressed. I had my classes with Mike and I can honestly say he’s one of the best instructors I’ve ever had, for anything. He very obviously wants everyone to know what they need to know to be safe, have fun, and overall be successful diving.Their program is definitely affordable for what you get (a steal given this is OC) and no corners are cut. They offer good rates on gear and further classes for students, both of which you’ll probably want after the initial certification.It’s a big world and can be daunting to new people like myself so it’s nice to have knowledgeable and genuinely good folks to learn from and have look after you.

Ludek is awesome. I had some issues with a viewfinder that I did not purchase from him and he helped me get installed. If you want excellent customer service this is the place to go to. He provides awesome service to his customers.

When you’re making a decision to take an Open Water Dive course, remember that class size, expert instruction and your SAFETY underwater is a key factor. I initially signed up with another dive shop for an open water course, and changed my mind because they told me their class size had been between 6-8 persons per one instructor for the actual open water portion of the course. I rethought my decision and went to Dive and Photo. They offer excellent customer service, good selection of diving equipment, and the dive instruction exceeded my expectations!! Looking forward to the PADI Advanced Open Water Course with Dive and Photo.

Dive and Photo is AWESOME! I did a trip to Bali with them in 2016. Absolutely incredible. I am booked for the Philippines in May. It should be a blast. Mike went the extra mile to help me with accommodations since I will be 4 days earlier than the group.I used to go in the shop when I lived in CA. Ludek was always great and up to date on products. Now I am in Texas I cannot go into the shop but Ludek always responds via email or a quick phone call. I usually end up ordering gear from Ludek. I still swing by when I visit. Always fun!

Wow! This is an amazing dive shop.I visited a few shops in my pursuit of certification for an upcoming vacation. Not being happy with what I was seeing (disorganized stores, improperly motivated people, and bad reviews) I kept searching until another shop that wasn’t able help me, due to seasonal constraints, referred my to Ludek at Dive and Photo. When the competition refers you you’re probably a good bet, and I’m so glad they did.Met Ludek, the owner, first as he explained the basics, got me signed up, and guided me properly into logical gear choices. He set me up with one of their instructors, Bill Cain. Bill was amazing. He does and excellent job teaching and keeping it safe. He’s a smart guy, has an awesome style, and I couldn’t feel more confident with what I’ve learned.Although this started as a basic certification for some diving on an upcoming vacation, Dive and Photo has made this such a wonderful experience I’ll be signing up with them for more advanced training.

I am now certified instructor and learn how to dive with dive and photo. I still shop here and get advice ... it’s a great shop to get one on one help and service.

As far as Dive shops go... THE BEST. As far as instructors go... Sherry Gagnon is... THE BEST!I trusted her for Open Water with my 11 and 14 years old kids. Double down and 2 years later had the 3 of us getting our Advanced Certs. Ive been diving for over 30 years and while I trained for it, never got the card. Sherry is patient, thoughtful, and most importantly makes the training FUN. My kids are already amazing divers with skills to match many people who have been under water for years. Even after hundreds of dives I learned valuable lessons and have become a much better diver after having spent time under Sherrys instruction.Dive and Photo is a flat out gorgeous shop. Ludek has everything you need (and want!). I have been on a couple dives with the shop and they are well organized and fun. It is a long drive for me going to Dive and Photo from Altadena - but it is worth every minute!If you want to get some gear, to expand your skills, or just go for a dive... this is the shop for you!

Dive and Photo is a great shop. They offer fast turn-around on air fills, tank inspections and hydros, and equipment maintenance. They offer a good selection of high-quality gear in the shop and if they dont have something in the shop, they are happy to try to order it for you.My wife got certified at this shop, and she and I both took our nitrox courses here, and from what Ive seen based on those experiences and from lots of time spent in the shop chatting with the staff, their instructors are all top-notch and safety-conscious.The owners are proactive about scheduling fantastic boat trips through the shop at very reasonable prices. Ive taken advantage of these trips in the past, and intend to continue to do so in the future.Finally, if you are interested in underwater photography, this shop is without a doubt the place to go. Ludek in particular (one of the owners) is highly knowledgeable and experienced with underwater photography; youll see several of his pictures adorning the walls of the shop, alongside Joe Liburdis photos. He has spent a lot of time talking me through what is required to take good underwater photos, and through the post-production process of cleaning up the photographs.Basically, this is a great shop with friendly, knowledgeable staff who are all passionate about diving and about sharing their love of the sport in all its various aspects with their customers.
