Dave was my initial contact for a brake inspection. I knew I needed rotors and pads. They inspected my vehicle and gave me a call. Dave was very professional and personable. They got the job done quickly, same day service. Im pretty impressed. There was a cross threaded lug from my last experience with Edwards. Dave let me know right away. In fact,. Dave was in contact with me at every step of the inspection and repair. I appreciate the effort that takes and that my car drives a d stops beautifully now. Thanks to everyone at Brakes Plus. If it was possible to give a minus rating I would. Our 2017 Hyundai Elantra was taken in with a check engine light. We were informed that the light was for a miss in one of the cylinders. Their recommendation was replacing the spark plugs and cleaning the fuel injectors. Cost of almost six hundred dollars. The car was picked up and the car immediately started to stall. It was taken back and our dissatisfaction was expressed to John the service manager. We left the car and he called for us to come get it. Said that we needed to take the vehicle to Hyundai because they couldnt help us. Well if the work is beyond your capability why wouldnt you tell us. Probably because the six hundred dollars was rather nice I suppose. I can tell you that they didnt even take the car back into the shop because it was parked in the same spot and when we did take it Hyundai we were told that the engine light had not even been reset. We were also told that the spark plugs that came with that vehicle last for approx. 100,000 miles. This vehicle only has 55,000 on it.Not all thieves wear masks. Take your car elsewhere.

Stopped by because my tire pressure was low and asked if they aired up tires for free and he was like of course and I pulled around to the bay and he had me taken care of fast.. very friendly and professional..will definitely go there if I need anything done. Wish I remembered his name.

The employees were very friendly and knowledgeable. They informed me at every step what they found and how much it would be to fix. I had 2 rotors replaced, all the brake pads replaced, wheel alignment, synthetic oil change and a tire rotation. I knew going in that I would need all these services. They did a terrific job and we’re done in less than 2 hours.

Work performed only shocks and struts was great. While they had my car, supposedly they had trouble with keeping the battery charged and had to jump it a couple of times and put on a charger. Nothing was said to me at pick up time. When I got off of work I found I had no headlights @ 11:30 at night. When I called to talk to the manager John the next morning and told him what was going on and wanted to know what was going on b/c I knew something happen with the battery with my car since everything was reset when I picked up the car. He said they didnt do anything electrical and did I know how to turn the lights on for my car. He was very condencending and rude. At that point he finally disclosed there was an issue with my car holding a charge. I can leave my car parked all week without running and not have issues. I took it back in to get checked out and he brought me the bulbs from the headlights and they had two burn spots on the glass from where they overheated and burnt out. They werent burnt out at the filament. When I asked how they charged the battery or jumped it and if they could have overcharged it I got brushed off.I will not be back. I had previously had good experiences with this location and the way the situation was handled and the failure to disclose any issues is very frustrating. Mechanics treating women like they are idiots who cant figure out simple problem solving is ridiculous.*Oh and when they replaced the headlights they didnt even check placement and had one pointed directly down into the front of the housing not even on the road and the other was completely off to the side not pointing to the front of the car. But its ok, this female was able to atleast figure out what was wrong without dealing with them any further.

First oil change of the day should of gotten in and out took 2 hours. Im assuming this is not normal for them because they comped me pretty significantly without me complaining. They never tried to push more expensive packages on me they honestly offered the cheapest package and I opted for the most expensive one on my own. The fact they comped me for the long service and werent pushy with the more expensive oil changes I will definitely be coming back for my next oil change.

So I took my car into the Brakes Plus… and NEVER will again!So I took my car into the Brakes Plus which had just opened the week before. I was expecting to encounter knowledgable and cheerful people. Wrong on both counts. The person who served me kept having to stop to ask for help both on what services they offered and computer help. His title was service supervisor so that is super misleading since his lack of knowledge was so great.Since they had just opened, there were several coupons you could use. One was for the oil change and another was for a free alignment check. I thought I would test their honesty by having them do an check on my vehicle which was in perfect driving condition, no alignment issues at all. Not so according to them. Shortly after I dropped off my car, so called service supervisor contacted me and said that when they put the car on the lift to do the oil change, he himself noticed wear to the inside of my tires and that the alignment was recommended. I initially okd it but immediately called my husband, knowing that they were just trying to pull a fast one on me. He immediately called them back and asked about the warranty. We were told it was a lifetime warranty by the expert service supervisor so my husband said go ahead with it then, even though it wasnt needed but thinking the deal was good with yet another coupon. The lifetime warranty was a lie or as they labeled it a mistake. He left a message about it being only 3 month warranty ( a far cry from lifetime) and i called back and said to not do the alignment. David, the expert we dealt with the whole time, said he would fix it. OK great.We went about our business until they called to say the car was ready. When we went to pick it up, they stated that they completed the alignment and were charging us for it. My husband went through the exchange as stated above, and David, no longer feeling the expert at this moment deferred to his manager who came out and was gruff from the getgo. My husband stated he was not paying for the alignment as we said we didnt want it without a lifetime warranty. We were told nobody does that. My husband quickly named Firestone as someone who does and they said. Well except them. The manager then threw the itemized bill at my husband and said. Fine this one is on us but we will never service your wifes vehicle again! Which is funny because we were obviously never going to go there again.Being an honest man, my husband insisted and paid for the oil change, even though he didnt have to at that moment.I would NOT recommend this place at all. Their employees lack of knowledge, trickery, and lack of customer service alone makes this place a bad example of service in our community.

As a young woman, Ive been told all my life to watch out for the guys at auto places and make sure they dont take advantage of me. I didnt even feel the need to worry about that at Brakes Plus. As soon as I walked up to the counter, I experienced genuinely good service. My car was out in about half an hour. The man taking my payment struck up a conversation, took the coupon I found online, and quickly sent me on my way. The prices werent too bad compared to other auto repair shops around the CB area, and I got even more coupons after becoming a customer. (Service: oil change).

I have had two top notch experiences with this location in the last three months doing repairs to my sons first car. I feel confident that repairs were done timely and fairly priced and that my son is safe getting to work every day because of the quality of work done. Mike, the service advisor was also very professional and personable.

Stopped in for an oil change for the first time today and they did an amazing job!!! I will be back!!! The service didnt take long at all. And the best part... they werent pushy about extra services or filters. They gave a recommendation and said it should be looked at soon, but didnt make me feel bad for not getting it fixed right then and there. They say they charge 150 hour. So that was far!!So I dropped my 2000 Jeep off and went home 20 minutes later they call and said it was done so they work on it for 45 minutes to an hour. I Supplied the crank sensor that goes on top of transmissionSo how is it they charged me 250.00 bucks plus taxes for 1 hour worth of workIt should of been 150 plus taxesLike I said I supplied the part all they had to do is put it in Won’t go here again SCAM

Ive been to this location twice, and I dont think Ill be going anywhere else in the near future. I cant speak highly enough about the professionalism, friendliness, and knowledge represented on staff.Initially, I came in for an oil change and new brakes before a road trip. Technicians gave my vehicle a look and gave my brakes a good bill of health. Instead of charging me for a service I didnt need, these folks just cared about good customer service! They smiled and told me to come back when my brakes really did need some help.My next visit was for oil and tire alignment. While waiting, I heard many interactions between the front desk and other customers. I couldnt have been more impressed with how friendly and serviceable the staff is.My household will now be taking vehicles here for most normal vehicle maintenance, and Ill be telling many about my great experiences! Highly recommend!

Don’t go to this location. I went in for a oil change and they recommended some repair s underneath my car. I declined since I didn’t have time. They informed me my alignment would only get worse. I said no then the technician grabbed my rear tire and started violently shaking my whole vehicle back and forth while my car was on the lift. Afterwards my car pulled hard left. It was perfectly fine before I took my car there. I went to another shop to fix my alignment. Never do business there again.

Cannot recommend this Brakes Plus location enough!! I was in town for business when I experienced brake issues. Within minutes of walking in the door, my truck was on the lift, being worked on. They stand by their work, and do an exceptional job. Everyone is very professional and friendly. Great people and a great business.

Brakes Plus in Council Bluffs off Broadway treated me with respect. I went to get an oil change and unlike most companies they didnt try to get me to fix a huge list of things wrong with my car. They gave me suggestions on two things letting me know which one is more important with a quote i felt was pretty reasonable. Since i didnt have the money right away they let me set up an appointment for when i would have the money. I brought my car in expecting to wait all day and they had it done so quick and at the price they quoted. No hidden charges. Car drives great now. Very happy driver.

I decided to get a second opinion about my brakes at Brakes Plus. It turns out the first place was wrong and the manager, Dan showed me why! He explained everything so that it was easy for me to understand. His advice ended up saving me money. I believe the employees of this location are very trustworthy and not trying to con a woman into getting unnecessary car repairs. My family and I take almost all my vehicles to this location, and now after the service and treatment I received recently I will no longer be doing so. They seem to be nice at first when you are spending large amounts of money on something that is simple to fix, however when it comes to a challenge they become very rude and over priced. Previously to replace a bearing press on the right side of my car they were very rude and told me numerous times how hard it would be, not only that but the first time they fixed it they failed and it broke a week after, causing other problems to my car. When I took it in to get it fixed again their attitudes were very poor and yet again they continuously reminded me of how difficult the fix is as if its my fault. Recently they wanted to charge me $90 a hour for diagnostic testing and spend 2 hours on the vehicle which is immensely uncalled adding up to $180 just to find out what the problem is when I have already had the vehicle tested and gave them the information on what was wrong and what needed to be fixed. The mechanics I came into contact with in the parking lot are very rude and disrespectful, unwelcoming and given such attitude as if you are are in their way and are an intruder to their work process. The front desk man Beretta talked to me as if Im a clueless child demeaning me and the information I brought in about my car. He gives me such disrespect and attitude every time I kindly come in and ask to get my car fixed. Every time I come in they overcharge me and show such unwelcoming disrespect. The only time they show kindness at this shop is when you have easy work done to your car like; oil changes, alignments and brake pad replacements. Other than that this shop is not the shop anyone should choose to go to. Ive also recognized being a person of color that I am shown this disrespecting poor attitudes because of my race. Most of the costumers who come in are white including all the workers and they are shown the upmost respect and service. I along with witnessing another person of color are treated as if we are clueless uneducated people shown with such disrespect and overcharged. Very uncalled for and unwelcoming. I hope after reading this review you choose another shop to take your vehicle for I will never in my life take my car to this Brakes Plus or any Brakes Plus in the world.

New review from 10/17/20 visit. Still love this location for auto service! In 2015 I got a job in Omaha and moved to CB. I was a single female on my way home from work a few months after moving when a car pulled up next to me at a stoplight and let me know I had a taillight out. I hadnt had any auto service yet in my new hometown and it was 5:45 on a winter evening. Going down Broadway I saw Brakes Plus was still open. I pulled in and went inside. Despite it almost being closing time, I was greeted warmly and told if I went next door to the auto parts store and got the bulb they would replace it for me. They didnt even charge me. They had my business from that day on. Ive since married and moved south of Plattsmouth and still drive to this location for my auto service needs. They are still the best 👍👍👍Seriously the best! The men that work here are professional and courteous. You wont feel like you are being taken for a ride with them servicing your vehicle. I have moved and drive from Plattsmouth to this location in CB. They are that good!

WAS a satisfied customer. No longer. Would have been at least the 4th visit here. Called for & given a 2pm (Tues) appt about 1 1/2 hrs earlier. Had to drive 50 miles to make that time. Walked in. First the clerk couldnt find the appt. Then looked up th Ph# & asked about the car I had aligned over 4 yrs ago. Never could find the 2pm appt. THEN told me the appt would be at least an hour delay more like 2. Align rack is empty, 3 techs wandering around. Started going here for good service but these problems are why you dont go to W**Mart. Serious management problem. Bit the bullet & went to the dealer.

I have always been a little skeptical about going to a service place when some of the work I can do on my own for way less. However, with the warranty on my car, they require the work be done and documented by a service shop. After searching for a place to go I landed on this location and thought I would give them the simple task of an oil change to see how they treated me as the customer. They were beyond pleasant to work with and understanding of some other concerns I had with my vehicle. They weren’t pushy or aggressive to get me back in but rather offered assistance when I was ready. I appreciate not being treated like a dollar sign and more like a human being. They were incredibly friendly the second I walked in the door. I walked in 30 minutes before close and they checked out my battery and replaced it right then. Baretta said they treat customers like family and that they do. I highly recommend them to anyone.

I need some suspension work done. The local guy gave me a quote that was a little more than I wanted. I spoke with Dan about my issue and got a more reasonable quote and a coupon off their website to keep my costs down. They were very friendly and great to work with. I will utilize them for future needs.

In an emergency situation I took my car here. They said they would get it in at 11am, on Friday and they were working me in. My brake lines blew. At 4pm I called to see what was going on they said we haven’t had time we are sorry but can’t look at it till tomorrow. Ok well there went my plans on leaving town. But glad it happened in town instead of on a country road. So Saturday I called at 2pm they still hadn’t looked at it and then said wouldn’t be able to look at till Monday. The car was not drivable or I would have went somewhere else!!! Monday rolls along at I get the call and the amount is $1600. By this point having a heart attack. Needles to say my family called around and I had to tow my car to another shop and for under $500 just to get what has to be done fixed!! At this point the extra on towing is not a big deal. Very nice and apologetic people- but not enough mechanics for the work load and way too expensive!

This is the best place around! I have gone here twice and both times they worked with the amount of money we had and helped us even save lots of money. The head boss Dom is so understanding and caring of his clients. Will continue to go here for everything I need done!

Last week I slid on ice and hit a curb last week and cane to Brakes Plus. The cost was really reasonable especially with a couple hour turn around time. They came and got me from my house without any hesitation and on my time. I’m sure I’ll be back if my car gives me any more trouble.

I took my van in this morning to get my front brakes changed. Upon inspection they discovered that I still had some life on the brake pads, but the hardware was sticking and not releasing. They were going to replace the pads and hardware and turn the rotors. Apparently the rotors had a ring of rust around them and they couldnt be turned. It took everything in me not to cry when they told me that they replaced my rotors for me for nothing. Im still in disbelief. Brakes Plus definitely won my business FOR LIFE. As a single mom of 4 babies - money is tough - and that was a HUGE blessing! I would definitely recommend anyone to go here. Thank you so much Dan, Dom and everyone else. Words cant even begin to describe the level of appreciation I have for you guys.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! I made a appointment the night before, dropped my car off at 830am was told that as long as I left the keys, it would be looked at today and taken care of. I called at 2pm and was told “it’s got about a half hour before they bring it back” called at 4 and was told “it’s the next one coming in” showed up back at the shop at 530 and it was STILL sitting in the same I parked it. I went in and asked “did you look at it yet?” And was told “he is gonna pull it in after he test drives this alignment” at 530 they still had not even looked at it!!! No calls saying it wouldn’t be taken care of today and offering me the option to come get it, or leave it.. and when I asked why, I was met with “sorry... things just happen” don’t waste your time with these guys.. they have no consideration what so ever.. there used to be a decent guy there named Dave, wonder what happened to him? I spend 600 bucks to have my brakes done less then 6 months ago, and all though I felt I was getting raped on the price, I paid it.. because they were quick and did a good job... WONT BE COMING BACK, and will be telling ALL my friends, not to waste your time, might as well just leave it parked it your own drive way, cause that’s all BrakesPlus is going to do!!!!!

Dan is awesome to work with and really cares about his customers. I had a car that the transmission went out on and I called him. He came and waited with me for the tow truck and gave me a ride back to the shop so we could figure out what the repairs would be. He always gets us the best deal and stands behind his work. I will and have faithfully followed him from one location to another. Great manager and service!

We sent our 2010 Equinox to have a tie rod and all 4 brakes/rotors to be replaced. We worked with Steve over the phone. He was extremely informative, helpful, and professional. They did a wonderful job, prices were extremely fair, and we would highly recommend Brakes Plus to ANYONE!

I took my vehicle in for an oil change today. I received a call about what they found on the inspection that they do. The lady I spoke with let me know that it was recommended that I change my outside and cabin air filters, this is where I started to doubt them. I had changed my cabin air filter just a few short weeks before I took it in for the oil change so I knew it couldnt be bad. Then she proceeded to tell me that I had a bad battery and that my driver rear strut was leaking and with the mileage on the vehicle, it was recommended to replace all of the struts. So my 30 dollar oil change was turning into almost 2,000 dollars worth of work. I told her just to do the oil change. Fast forward to when I went to pick up the vehicle. The same person I spoke with on the phone presented me with the battery information from the check. Then she let me know that my vehicle only takes 0W-20 oil and that only comes in synthetic and there are no cheaper alternatives. She had not mentioned this when we had spoken earlier on the phone nor did she call back once this was found out. At that time I was so fed up with the whole situation I just wanted to pay my bill and get out of there. They then proceeded to charge me for a synthetic oil change with no warning that the bill was going to go up from the original price I had planned on paying. So my 30 dollar oil change went up to almost 70 without my knowledge. Good thing I didnt get any of that other work done. Needless to say, I will NEVER take my vehicle back to this place and to anyone reading this review, I recommend you find somewhere else to take your vehicle for repairs.

I had a great experience at this Brakes Plus. I will admit I have never used this company before. Clint did an excellent job taking care of my car needs. Very professional and informative. I will always come back to this location and most of it was because of Clints professionalism. Thank you!

I came into this location and Jordan helped me out! I definitely don’t know anything about cars but Jordan went the extra mile and made sure it was perfect and explained everything. He also taught me a little about my car too! Go in and see Jordan he was awesome 👏🏾

Went to the Brakes Plus in council bluffs today for an alignment, as soon as I walked in the door I was immediately greeted by a mechanic with a smile. The customer service is great, no sooner did I check in was my vehicle pulled into their bay. Not only am I happy but so is my wallet. Great experience....

Came just for a brake check, the gentleman working was very informative and polite. Brake fluid was topped off and they even fixed my windshield wiper (it was originally out of place and hitting my window when in use). 10/10 would recommend coming to this location as they even give you a list telling you what all (if any) needs repaired or replace with the prices listed
