We had the dog on a leash and took advantage of the outdoor dining area, on a lovely day, with umbrellas for shade. We got take out, including a dish of water for the dog. The Crestline Burger beats the Bear House burger hands down! The Monte Cristo was crispy fried and filling. Hot fresh fries rounded off a nice lunch.Update 8/4/21: today we returned and I got a wonderful patty melt with onion rings.YUM! Spectacular service and tasty food!
Found this restaurant online and it had great reviews so we decided to try it. I was very disappointed in the experience. Our waitress was nowhere to be found much of the time, it was not busy at all, and they when she did come to the table it was clear she did not want to be there. I ordered eggs, bacon, hash browns, and the biscuits and gravy. My eggs, which should have been over medium, but were literally not cooked, as in slimy raw. The hash browns were not even lukewarm. My friends meal was also lukewarm at best. I asked the waitress if she could just pop them in a microwave for a minute or so and that would be fine. She was also going to take the eggs and replace them with scrambled eggs. She said it would just be a few minutes which I believed since it was not busy and every one already seemed to have their meals except for a group that had just arrived and hadnt even ordered yet. Fifteen minutes later she finally showed back up with the food she was going to reheat. No surprise, it was colder than before she took it, and the eggs were also cold.I will say the biscuit was incredibly good and the bacon was amazing!!!I wouldnt make a special trip up there again, but if I was in the area and was hungry I might stop by for a biscuit and some bacon.
I Love this place. Small town Cafe always busy but they get you in and out. Lots of variety to choose from and everything is always great. Service is friendly and accurate. Comfy and clean. Great for breakfast lunch or dinner and it wont break the bank. I come here a lot!
After a visit to the Heart Rock Trail hike this stop hit the spot. Restaurant is following COVID-19 guidelines so there’s minimal tables open. Expect a wait however, it wasn’t long before we got our table. Pancakes were nice & fluffy. Waiter (teenager) was a bit forgetful possibly new hire. Food order came out quick. Chile Verde omelette was delicious the green sauce was flavorful with chunks of pork and country potatoes were cooked right.
Wow, they were amazing, we had a party of 14. A tall order in any restaurant. They were gracious and helped us get seated. Took our drink order quickly and made us feel at home. The older was taken when we were ready. Food came our quickly and exactly correct. Very good food. Obviously the chief is excellent. I I highly recommend.
Make sure you have plenty of time to spare when you come here. They have a sign on the door that warns it will take a long time and they arent lying. It took almost an hour to get the food and an additional 20 min to get the check. I actually hurried the paying process by getting up and waiting at the register. But, Yes, there is a sign on the door that says it is not a fast food restaurant. But didnt know it was going to be a really, really slow restaurant either.

Poor customer service. It took 25 min. For my food to arrive after I ordered. I only received one refill of ice tea the whole time I was there, even though my cup was empty and sitting at the edge of the table for the server to see. I was charged a fee to use my debit card. I ordered a western bacon cheeseburger but was informed they did not have onion rings. The server asked if I would like something else on the burger instead so I asked for extra bacon. When I received the check, I saw that I was charged for the extra bacon. I brought this up to the person at the cash register and she removed the charge. Pay attention to your charges at this cafe.
Food is good but the service very friendly but a little slow. Phone was non stop ringing the whole time we were there. But I will go back because of the food!
For a restaurant that prides themselves as a “Relaxed alpine restaurant”, I think waiting an hour and a half for breakfast is a little too relaxed. Most of staff, regardless, were kind and apologetic, to be fair.The food was decent, but nothing to write home about, partly due to fact that my eggs had been sitting on a warmer for awhile and had dried up. Toast was burnt to absolute pitch black.I think the problem at this restaurant is likely upper management failures and not really any particular servers fault.Consider dining elsewhere, or you may regret wasting precious hours of your life on mediocrity.
Though her name has slipped my mind, the Hostess, is a riot. Super friendly, and sweet. The food was great. Everyone works together. Loved the atmosphere of this cute cafe. Thank you for your hospitality and service.
The place simple as their food. May be most known in the area. Have not found much grace in menu celection and taste, but if you are starving you ll find it ok ))

Let me start by saying that we havent been here in two+ years. Our last meal was celebrating a birthday and two different soups were too salty, the cole slaw was goopy and inedible. Our visit today was encouraged by our son who ate here recently for breakfast and remarked how much things have improved. The current staff was great and the food delicious, although the cole slaw could still use a little help. We are looking forward to going back for dinner and their English fish and chips meal.

Service lacked, but the food was GOOD. The Monte Cristo and Rueben were EXCELLENT. The slaw and potato salad were unremarkable. The onion rings were good. I would definitely do either of those with onion rings and skip the rest.

Dont waste your time on the milkshakes. Some of their food is mediocre at best, like their fish and chips. Other dishes are good like their Cobb salad. Overall just meh 😕

I love rhis poace... but there is a qorker in there that has a pisspoor attitude... had rainbow eyebrows today... she took a to go order, and decided to not send it to the kitchen before I arrived and paid for the food.... the order was placed 20 min prior.. had me standing for another 35 min for 2 meals.... fix this or im taking it as high as I can until she is gone

Hello everybodySoooo, I really wanted to love this place,but I didnt.The food was greasy (not saying greasy food cant taste wonderful)and didnt taste good not even the fries and I love fries lol...The service was mediocre and the bill was pretty high for the bad food and service.If I were you, and looking for a decent meal, I would definitely try a different place.
I ordered the mratlivers omelet. It was great. Chock full of han, sausage and bacon. Wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. Everything was very clean. Parking can be a challenge later in the morning.

I loved my French Dip sandwich. 2nd time Ive been here. Food and service exceeded expectations.
Food was good, server was friendly, yet the service was slow. Had to ask for a second cup of coffee. Accidentally for my doggie bag called them 5 minutes after we left they had already thrown it away! We were thinking 🤔 that it would be still be there because they never came back to our table that fast when were there.

Top sirloin steak medium rare is really tender delicious with eggs and country potatoes with veggies, the staff is real good. Its a great place felt like in my own home relaxing and lay back.
This place never disappoints. We just visited after 15 months of no dining at restaurants. We are aware that many are shorthanded, in spite of that this place knocked it out of the park just as they did pre pandemic. They have got it down! A++++

The food taste okay. The service was okay. The shake was too small for a kid. The drinks were small to for a kid. The Parking Spot was okay. The neighborhood is good. Friendly hard working staff, generous portions, tasty food. Breakfasts are SO good here! best biscuits and gravy on the hill, awesome omelettes and big juicy burgers. nothing fancy, a perfectly unpretentious and relaxing place to dine outdoors, or call ahead for take-out.
The lady working here, I didn’t catch her name, but she was running the place and she was incredibly kind. made a huge difference in our day! she went out of her way for us and we will definitely be back :)

Tried them 3 times the french fries are good burgers are pretty good anything with chicken, dont get. Chicken is terribly rubbery and uneatable had to throw away a 15$ meal and 13$ sandwich. Really dissatisfied.

One weekend experience that I look forward to is meeting friends at the Crestline Cafe for a yummy Sunday breakfast. My favorite is the Chili Verde Omelette special. In line with COVID safety practices outdoor dining is available. Fortunately the tented area has a welcoming southern exposure that lets guests moderate their comfort level with full, partial, or shaded sun.
The country girl is my goto for breakfast thou my family swears by the lil mountain. Be prepared to wait a little while but it is worth all the time. Everything is cooked to order. Also the place gets packed so get there early to claim a spot.
Can I just say.. the staff was WONDERFUL!! The food Excellent!!Best Arnold Palmer ever! Our servers were very courteous and kind. Im quite impressed with the quality of customer service and hospitality.The food was fresh and out of this world. We ordered: fish and chips, they were perfectly battered and fryed. Kids burger, my son could not stop shaking from how delicious it was. Chicken tenders, the ranch mouth watering and the chicken delicious the breading was full of tasty flavor.( Would have taken pictures of the food but we ate it all too quickly!)Will come back again and recommend to friends :)!!
