An awesome used book store with thousands of books. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. The selection is pretty nice too! They have it organized by different selection!
The bathroom for shoppers is atrocious. No soap, paper towels, or running water in the sink. All issues that can be easily fixed. A storage tote for the trash can, filled with used pads.. I bet the employee restroom that is kept locked doesn’t look like this. I advise no one to drink out of the water fountain. That’s where most people wash their hands.
I only went thru two aisles. 8 books later, hubby says we gotta go. 🤣🤣 I spent less than $30. The cashiers were nice. Will return.
Absolutely love this store. Always helpful and friendly staff. Have everything from childrens books to textbooks. Constantly rotating stock with reasonable secondhand prices.
You can take your used books here and trade them for credit. But also they keep 4 or 5 boxes of books outside thedoor that they no longer want and you can get as many as you want for free. I go there after hours every time Im in Crossville and find books for everyone I know. Also Threads of Hope is in the same shopping center. It is like a Goodwill store.
Large selection of hardbacks. Staff are helpful and the dist levels are kept in check. Prices are very low and they have a buyback credit program which can save readers money.
Great book store, one of the best in the region. Good selection and the staff are smart and know their stuff.
Book selection is dated, but a good place to find back catalog of your favorite authors. Prices are great!
Me and my daughter are long time customers
Loved this place. Lots and lots of books. Ty
Love the place. Always finding more books than I need...
I love this place!! So many books and its so organized now. They have really improved the store!
Amazing selection of books.
I really love this book store everyone is so nice and even though I dont walk out with something Every time I go I still like to look. I add to my husbands collection and my cookbook collection. Great place to find movies and sometimes video games too. And you can turn in books for store credit! Check it out I bet youll find something you like!
The layout and lighting was not great. The selection is excellent.
Im a voracious reader, yet I found it not worth the exit off the I-40...Very disappointing
Tons of books. Easy to locate whatever your looking for. The girl at the cash register wasnt very friendly but other then that its a great place 😁 they also will let you trade in your books for new ones!
Massive bookstore! I went in looking for comics and didnt see a big collection, but it has just about every other genre you could want.
This place is much bigger than I thought it would be. Lots of selection!
Decent store. A lot of Christian book options (if thats what youre going for) and the kids section didnt look much like a kids section, maybe I missed something. Found two books so Im not disappointed.
They have a large selection of books, but with very little organization its extremely difficult to find anything that isnt written by a very established writer. Spent half an hour trying to find any Jim Butcher only to find nothing. Their selection of fantasy or scifi is very limited.
Lots of books, but was disappointed. Was informed by clerk that they have no way of searching inventory besides shelve by shelve
Great variety of books., music and cheap.
Good variety of books in all sections. Lovely way to spent a rainy day browsing when l am on vacation in Crossvulle... Friiendly staff, great prices. My favorite used book store!
Great place to pick up some novels.
Tons of books, easy to find what your looking for, plus they will let you trade books back in!
My sister lives The Book Cellar! She especially likes that they buy her books back when she is finished reading them.
If you read, this place is a MUST. So many books, after 3 trips Ive yet to see everything they have. Phenomenal prices, buy back for your books or even ones theyve sold you!! Well organized and friendly staff... EVERYTHING about this place is AMAZING... HIGHLY RECOMEND... and I will DEFINITELY be a repeat customer 😊
Good selection of books at reasonable prices. Trade in old books for credit.
Love to find large print books. Variety of anything you are looking for.
Great book store with a huge well organized selection. Employee was very helpful.
Great staff and amazing prices. I love going to the Book Cellar and browse the aisles. Great selection from a wide variety of genres.
I enjoyed being in the Book Cellar. They have great books of all kinds. I will be going many times for other books. 100 percent!!!!!
Great selection and low prices! Check them out!!!
Large variety of books and staff was very helpful!
Excellent stock of old and hard to find out of print books at great prices. My only complaint is that no one was wearing a mask.
This place was amazing! Ive been looking for a used book store for a long time when I stumbled across this place. The store was huge with a wonderful selection of books. It is very organized which made finding what you are looking for so much easier. Wish it was closer to where I live but I have no problem making the 1hr drive for this store.
Can always find books there.
First time shopping there - will be back!!! Love the selection
Great pricing and a good selection of books
Love this place. Great selection, nice employees. They also have a trade-in program for used books.
So many books! Good place to trade your books in. Friendly staff.
If you are a book phene like I am, you need a great supplier of books. For me, one of my best go-to places is the Book Cellar. Over the years, I have had different favorite book stores, depending on what was open and where I was living at the time. For the last 10-15 years, the Book Cellar has been my favorite. Now I know a lot of people read. But I have over 800 books. I read A LOT, and I buy a lot of books. Here are the things that I like about this place:1) They have a huge selection. I read a wide variety of books. From history, to biography to specific fiction authors to current events/political to theology & Christian themed (I have a degree in theology) to medical/self-help...the list goes on. They have almost any category you can think of.2) Their staff is helpful when you need them but they dont bug they heck out of you.3) The store is very organized. While it isnt computerized, it is clearly marked at the end of each aisle showing what genre is where.4) Its quiet and peaceful like a library to browse. I have literally spent hours in here multiple times.5) They are very well priced! I hate going into used book stores and seeing sticker prices of $10+! I frequently buy books for $2 & $3 here. I often leave with a whole bag full under $20!If you like books at all, trust me, you will love this place!
There is something for everyone here you can enjoy a good book or even if you do not have time to sit and read they have on CDs
Not many book stores left like this one. Thank you. Great place to trade books.
Love this store!! I recycle nearly all my books here, and I live 2 hours away. I save my books until a visit to my parents and then trade and browse the stacks. Crossville may be the golf capital of the south, but this store puts this city on the map for bibliophiles.
Great deal on books
Love reading books. Like the feel of the paper. This place is a mini library with all the books they had and WAY cheaper then most book resellers. Helpful staff and every changing inventory. Great store tucked away in the strip mall.
Love this book store!
This place is awesome. Read a few reviewers about their organization and its pretty good. A database or card catalog would be great but the search is half the fun. A word of advice is to search for two copies of same book. Found a hard cover of one for a dollar and then the paperback of it for 3.50 and they in different sections. But as I said the search is half the fun. Planning to go back sooner rather than later.
Very friendly and affordable. HUGE selection of new and used books. They also have a trade-in allowance for bringing your good condition used books.
You can find used books and trade other books in.
This place has a lot of books and the prices seem pretty reasonable. The problem is that they are only sort of in any kind of order and even then there are often books stacked in front of other books. They also do not have any kind of inventory list according to the girl at the counter which coupled with the bad organization makes it hard to find anything. Overall I think if you have the time and patience to search through their selection you will probably find some great books for a good price but the lack of origination makes what could be a great book store only good.
Amazingly wonderful! Prices are good, personnel friendly. LOTS of books, well organized. You get credit for returned books, not much but credit for more.My elderly mom suggests more seats to wait as others shop.
So fun and much larger on the inside than you would think. Very affordable prices and they have a deep selection of books.
Has most anything you might need to read.
Large variety of books and incredibly low prices!
Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Found what I was looking for.
My husband and I took a short weekend trip to East Tennessee recently. We saw a billboard for the Book Cellar, and since we werent in any hurry to get anywhere, we thought it sounded like a fun detour. We spent about an hour or so browsing music & books. It was a great way to take a break & stretch our legs. We went home with hours of quality entertainment for a great low price!
A great selection.
I dig it. Good prices, good selection. Ive been there a couple of times and store is warm.... They may be having AC issues...
Visiting the area for the first time...enjoyed the store very much!
Great store 🏬 great prices
I enjoyed going here a lot when I was a kid. My mom and I would spend hours here. Now that I live in Texas I havent been able to visit in years. Visiting my brother who lives near, I decided to stop in, and its still just as wonderful. Inexpensive books and very friendly staff. Its defiantly better than Half Price Books, in my opinion.
Just happened upon this store. Was really happy with the selection and found a few interesting reads in there! Prices very reasonable!
They have alot of amzing books.
Loved this place! Great prices!
This book store has an incredible range of books available for really, really low prices . . . The staff is really friendly and helpful too. You never know what youre going to find. Today it was a brand new copy of A Confederacy of Dunces and The Creek both $2.00 each . . .
I didnt spend too terribly long in here so I didnt get to look at everything but this is probably the largest second hand bookstore Ive ever been in. Its clean and most importantly its well organized. Unlike a lot of second hand book shops, that just have books placed haphazardly, the book cellar has all books separated by topic and neatly arranged in alphabetical order by author so it will be easy to find anything you are looking for. Definitely a great stop for any avid reader that doesnt mind reading a pre-owned book.
Lots of books which cover many subjects, cost are very reasonable, and staff is courteous.
Lots of used books for great prices, even a bunch of free ones in boxes outside. Things can be a little hard to find as they have no database of their inventory and things tend to get shelved a little randomly. If you go looking for a specific title, you may be searching for a while. Other than that and a bit of overstock on Christian books, it was a fun place to spend a few hours and grab a some old hardbacks for under $20 for the wholestack.
Poorly arranged. They apparently have no inventory control as they couldnt tell if they had particular authors or books. On the bright side, they have a huge amount of inventory. They sell both hardback and soft back books.
It is by far the largest bookstore I have ever visited. There are 2 floors of books with every topic you can imagine. The one I visited was easily accessible right off the interstate. I could have stayed in there for days and still have missed so many tittles. If it is your first time to visit there ask the greeters to help you get started.
Extensive book and music collection. Very fair pricing and will drive from Maryville to visit again. Kudos for their knowledge and friendliness!
Well that was fun.Books are very inexpensive. Glad I went. Found unusual books . Took home several keepers.
I love the space this bookstore is housed in. There is plenty to look through and the staff is friendly and willing to help you if you need it. However, the selection is geared more towards an older crowd. There are multiple Christian reading sections. This is probably the result of the city’s demographic and the books they are trading in. If you are looking to snag some newer releases, you won’t find them here, but the prices are low and the selection is okay.
I ordered a book from them and wanted to “Thank” them for the prompt service I received. It is a used book and is exactly as they stated, in very good condition!Thank you book cellar! I may be back!!
Best book store ever!!! This is my favorite place on earth! You can even trade in your own books for store credit! There is so much to look though, Id plan a whole day for a trip here if you love books:) if you are looking for something specific, they dont catalog what they have but they are fairly knowledgeable on their inventory:)
Love love love this place. A book lovers dream. Tons of used books in good condition at great prices. Its a must for those addicted to books.
Great place, great selection, friendly staff
Wonderful and LARGE used bookstore. Great for getting credits to buy books when you donate old books.
A ton of books. Great selections, easily navigated. No Metallic Helium 3
They are great. They are organized and that makes looking for your interests a lot easier. Been going for years and have never met an employee that wasnt pleasant. They go out of their way when you need a hand.
Great selection. Great staff. Great prices. Definitely my favorite book store! I visit at least once a week
We stopped by on a trip from Texas to Tn, saw the billboard and decided it would be a good place to stretch our legs. This place did not disappoint! We spent over an hour coming through books and we wound up leaving there with a big box of books and only spent $46. Wish there was a place like this local to us.
Caught it on the road while traveling. Really nice selection, great bargain prices.I thought the place was nicely organized and I wish that I had more time. But I will be going back as I pass by again. Nice helpful people.
Best place to go for books I dont like reading on a cell phone
I love the book cellar. Its been one of my favorite stores since I was a little kid.
If your a fan of books this place is great!! You can find anything here and they will trade ur stuff for store credit! Some things are priced a lil high for what they are but in general a great place!!
Good people and books..
Trade in prices are decent if you accept store credit. Last time I traded around ten books in acceptable condition for two in good condition and paid thirty cents. Large selection if you have time to browse.
Loved it this place has lots of my favorite authors
I love books and this place. Clean, well organized and a very helpful young lady behind the counter. If youre a reader then this place is for you!!
LOTS of great books economically priced. You can even get credit for donating your own used books!
Thousands of books to browse
