Used to work there when it was REALLY Rochester Wire Rope. (1980s) Cable from the Blue Ridge I worked there as an industrial electrician. Got to make many VERY good friends. It makes me sad to see that they closed down the rope mill part of it. Thats how they got a good reputation as The Cadillac of Ropes. I sure hope they kept the mural around the staircase in the main building. It was a pictoral representation of the history of rope making.

I just wanted everyone to know that I have been beyond screwed over by two companies lately, leaving me at this time unable to provide for my child on my own and pay my bills on my own....let’s start with the first.....TE Connectivity, Culpeper VAI got offered the job, I went to take my drug test at Brooks Chiropractic clinic in culpeper. The girl told me this was the “first time” she was using their new screening system. She was very confused about what she was doing and told me that multiple times. I did not even get enough urine in the cup, but since it was right below the line she said it was fine. She also picked up the cup with her bare hands after I had put my urine sample in it. It was not put into a split sample before it was sent off. I was given no paperwork for my own records.As many of you know, I take several medications for my depression and anxiety. They called me to let me know I tested positive for a prescription drug(*NOT a narcotic or illegal drug*) (I am not prescribed said drug, but I am prescribed one that is in the SAME family of drugs very chemically similar, as well as two that can trigger false positives for this drug). She said the sample had been “retested several times” now why would you retest THE SAME SAMPLE multiple times? This is why there are supposed to be split samples. So I called the HR manager at TE Connectivity and explained the issues I had, she said there was “nothing she could do” and I would have to call the company that sent me the screening paperwork. I called them, explained the issues once again, and they told me it was not a problem to let me retest at another location, the HR manager would just have to call them and have them email me a new form. I left her multiple messages asking her to do this, she would not return any of my phone calls. I even offered to pay for it myself if it was necessary. Still, she won’t return my calls. I have no paperwork for my own records for this drug test, and was never called back by the HR manager when I left multiple messages and have legit reasons to dispute this drug screening and ask for a new one.
