Friday evening visit and the store was not busy. Everything seemed clean and orderly. Items were well stocked. Good selection of meats at decent prices. 5 out of seven stars for a perfect score. Well return.

They have a small cheese section, it was sad and disappointing. Eclairs were pretty good, I would definitely get them again.

Safeway has the BEST deal on meats. Always fresh meats, only grocery store that I buy meats from in Culpeper.

I dont shop at Safeway very often because their prices are much higher than Walmart, Lidl, and Aldis. However, when I cant find what I need or want at any of the above, I go to Safeway. The shelves are always stocked, the store is clean and they dont move products around every few weeks like Walmart and Lidl. On a personal note, shopping at Safeway brings back childhood memories of shopping at Safeway with my mother. (in Alexandria)

Excellent store and employees however prices for identical items are outrageously expensive! Its a great store with great people working there and its not there fault the prices are the way they are. If youre looking to get the same quality if not better quality products for my grocery store you would only be wasting enormous amounts of money by grocery shopping here. The pharmacy is opposite though their prices are some of the best I guess it all depends what one is looking for? If its to get groceries for your family its not the place to go unless you just like paying double the price for the identical item at Walmart but for the pharmacy its excellent the stuff employees are excellent the Western Union is excellent but for whatever reason Safeway thinks its okay to overcharge customers for items that can be found less than a mile away at less than half the price but if youre a person that doesnt have medical insurance their Pharmacy is excellent and as I said all the employees are excellent people its just outrageously ridiculous astronomical prices for groceries

Safeway is very nice and please there was very helpful they helped us we scanned her stuff we had a problem he came right over and helped us its a really nice place a little pricey but its still a nice place

Very expensive, but above average produce and grocery selection

Stuff is easy to find, always clean and plenty of carts just inside the door. Could keep a better look on the line but still not much of a wait.

Helpful friendly staff, nice flower section, meat section has a butcher, they bake on site, and the deli is good as well.

Ok customer service. Higher grocery prices than other Culpeper stores. We go because fruit is generally consistently good.

The bagger Dakota was so wonderful...noticed I had ingured arm...loaded my groceries in my car with a smile...great customer service!!!!!

I used to shop at Wal-Mart but since covid, their shelves are not full. A lot of the time they dont have something I need. I went to Safeway to get the one thing and their shelves are full. Ive been going there since.

12/26/20 4:15PM, went to Customer Service to ask a question and the girl just looked and threw her hands up and didn’t even speak. Why have someone assigned to Customer Service when they do not have communication or customer service skills??? Meat department is NOT getting any supplies they need and customers require. The food supply and demand is not being met property. I want to leave the store happy and satisfied, this did not happen and that bothers me, a lot. I should have set my basket down and left. Chris in the Meat Department and is an “Expert” and answers any and all questions. Maybe he could train the Customer Service girl?

Hard to rate this place because I dont go there very much. I just dont like the layout. It seems unorganized to me. However, their fruit and vegetables are great.

Confusing example, refridgerator items all over the place.no rhyme or reason to it.

I am so disappointed in this store. I ordered a Turkey Dinner and I go to pick it up. And found out that the person that was to take out the Turkeys from the freezer the night before, didnt. Then the Mgr said I could run warm water it, but water bill would go up, who pays for that, me. My Thanksgiving is ruined. I will never go back to SafewayEver again.

Clean, well stocked. However, much lower prices on sale items IF you have their new digital coupon app. This is not the same as your store club card. If you have an old cell phone, no storage and therefore no app... then you have no digital sale prices 😟.

Clean store. Use to be a sickly smell over by the detergents. Turns out they were selling a bar of soap that had a very strong smell. I dont smell it now. Shelves are stocked.

Found what I needed and didnt have to wait very long to be checked.

The ad that was online turned out to be valid only in parts of California but we are in Virginia so instead of honoring their ad we couldnt get what we wanted. Poor advertising.

I ordered a birthday cake and I needed a specific style(unicorn) and I had called all around Orange, Charlottesville, and Locust Grove and everywhere I called I was told that they couldnt make the style that I needed. I was beginning to think I was going to have to attempt it myself. Then I called Safeway and they were amazing. Not only could they make the cake I wanted but they also had the unicorn kit to put on top. They were very friendly and did an excellent job. I am very impressed with the level of skill shown as well as the kindness shown!!! Thank you Safeway bakery for an amazing cake. Not only was it beautiful but it was also delicious!!!

Pretty pricey for the low quality food they have. Beer selection is always good if you like shook up and foamy beers. Freezers are always broken down and the bathrooms are a toxic nightmare. The staff is really nice and the managers haircut always brings a laugh. Great produce section.

Is a good store, sometimes things are harder to find, but their employees are really helpfull. The only thing is that they are sometimes a bit pricey. Other than that great place.

DO NOT WORK HERE! I worked at this store for 2+ years, and suffered mental abuse every day. You will not be respected as a worker, and you will be pushed to your limits. You will be expected to meet impossible deadlines, and will suffer while those around you do not even attempt their job, and are only kept because they need bodies. You do not want to work here.

Ive stopped getting alot of my fruit from Safeway.$1.99 for a grapefruit is rediculouce..The blueberries and strawberries, raspberries all are bad.The produce manager said they come in that way..If you were a little closer to the prices at the other grocery stores in town,it would be nice.I run it and out for small items.Service is nice, store needs a big face lift. Its been the same for over twenty years..

Best produce in town, but usually most expensive too. High prices on MOST items, but if you buy whats on sale or clearance, you can get some good deals here. I shop here mostly for sales, but they also have some unique items you cant get elsewhere in town. NEVER buy milk here; they charge double what most grocery stores do.

I dont understand how the Culpeper Safeway stays in business. Except for their sale items their prices are way high compared to Walmart or Lidl. Also we went in for strawberries that were on sale over the weekend and they were completely out. If youre going to have a special sale you should have enough of the sale items for the whole weekend. Will not be going to this store again.

Ok store I guess history lesson for people it used to be where Golds gym is now and before that it was downtown where it is now use to be Jamesway department store and where it was downtown became Aides department store before it moved further out beside where Food Lion was,it and Jamesway along with G C Murphy were the only department stores Culpeper had we had JJ Newberry and Lerners downtown but they were small and didnt carry as many items. I know this has nothing to do with Safeway really but its nice to know the history of the town you live in.

I have found several items that were expired, there were no day stalkers other then the poor grocery manager, although the staff is friendly and polite the store obvious needs more attention
