It was an unexpected surprise. We were just looking for a place that served something sweet and we both had a slight craving for ice cream, a shake more specifically. I just did a quick type for milkshakes and this came up. To be honest, the pictures (of the delicious stuff) can appear overwhelming. Some are a bit simpler made than others but it does give the impression there is a lot going on. We ordered some relatively basic shakes. I got what is almost just a cookies and cream shake, but there was chocolate fudge and an ice cream cookie on top. Let me tell you...it was great. The cookie with the ice cream was good and the shake was just what I needed at the moment. I would recommend this for a good dessert, but give some space in between, like we did, walking for about thirty minutes. I would like to return sometime soon, and try something different.
5 star baby!! If you have a major sweettooth and a chocolate lover, head straight over to this place. great choices for a dessert restaurant wow!! be prepared to order one item to share among 4 people coz if you aren’t big on desserts, the portion sizes could be too much for one person ( too much sugar)... cute and thoughtful presentation! I was on a SUGAR RUSH .. love it!! Go make yourself happy
This is our most favorite dessert place!! Its all about chocolate and chocolate lovers!! chocolate avalnce is love!!! the taste is so heavenly that we just travel around 40 mins every weekend just to binge on that!! It opens after 2pm/4pm. so make surecto check if its open before you go!! never ever miss out on this one
Choco-holic here! Really nice staff. Totally understand the difficulty after pandemic, but cakes are so-so, truffles are made somewhere else and kept too long in the cooler- hard as a rock. Known for their hot chocolate, so tried the hazelnut version. Neither chocolaty or nutty- oh well. It is a busy spot, so I hope the management can fill the voids on quality. But, really nice staff, great location. Well come again when things smooth out.
I have to say, I enjoyed my experience here!Pros:-The staff was very knowledgeable about the product they were selling.Upon ordering, one of the staff guided us every step of the way. She could see there were only two of us and advised us so that we would enjoy our experience! If we would have had the items we wanted we would have wasted money and food.-Lounge was very clean!- The ambiance was set perfectly for a date!Cons:- We ordered strawberry crepes and get that this is a Chocolate Lounge... but it should be on the menu that there will be chocolate in the crepe (Go easy on the chocolate on the inside).- The crepe became a soggy mess and I was not able to enjoy the full experience. I did not care for the batter used to make the crepe either.
Absolutely decadent coffee and cocoa concoctions, as well as excessively delicious chocolate based or dipped desserts. Chocoholics fever dream and even open late on Saturdays (11:30pm) for the late night sweet tooths. Limited intimate indoor and outdoor seating. Would have been 5 stars, but menu was only available thru QR code scan despite large video screens behind counter, and truffles only sold by 6 minimum order.
Outstanding service!! Amazing shakes and desserts!! This was my second visit to the store. Cant complain the wait. The guy at the counter was knowledgeable and helped me with the dessert selection. Ordered chocolate avalanche and my family loved it. Honestly they deserve 5stars.*MASKS* are required to enter the store.Store was busy (at the time we visited @10) and brace yourselves for the delays.
Ive been here a few times, everything tastes great. Sometimes dessert places are just way too sweet, but this place has a good balance.
Very very delicious, I recommend this spot if you are in the area, everything in the menu looks delicious, and Im sure it is. We got the Hazelnut frppista, creme Brule and mocha frappe. Hezelnut frappista is my go to, next time I come Im trying the red velvet one 😋. Costumer service is friendly and are on top ot things, place is clean and organized 👌💯🙌
This place is amazing! Staff was super nice! Very clean shop and their menu is huge, I wanted to try it all. The tiramisu lava cake had me licking every little crumb off my plate! 😍😍😍
BAD EXPERIENCE!I am truly disappointed. The banana chocolate Sunday was not up to the expectations at all. The brownies were not fresh, looks like they got it from Walmart, the ice cream was the same. It is named “Banana”, but it had only 2-3 pieces. The chocolate pieces were literally tasteless. Moreover, the serving plate was tiny which made eating not convenient at all.I woke up in the morning regretting the calories I had last night!
Loved this place, lots of goodies to choose from. Very polite staff and beautiful decor. Very welcoming and cozy. Will be back soon.
The absolute best experience with a confectionary shop Ive ever had. The last time I was here was just under four years ago, and it was such a memorable experience I just had to visit again on my next trip to Dallas. The mochas and chocolate strawberries are to die for!
First time being there after a few years, we ordered two frozen chocotails and they were ok. Presentation looked really good! but mine tasted kind of bland (I ordered tiramisu) and we were disappointed of the actual amount of chocolate it had 🤷♀️ it was all frozen on the rim of the jar and could not be eaten :( also the jar was so full underneath the ice cream ball that the moment we went for a spoonful (and to put the straw in the drink) a lot of it got spilled on the table. Well order something else in the future and give it another try!
A solid selection of desserts that look amazing. The price of these choices are due to the presentation and less about the taste. We expected the sundae to be a massive portion, so we only got one to share. It was 2 small scoops with some goodies on top. A bit underwhelming but still tasty. Other shakes looked great, cookies on top and fancy fudge crust layer on the outside. Youll definitely be gettinf some gorgeous pictures and your sweet tooth satisfied.Atmospheric is dim and relaxed. I bit crammed, but outside seating saves the day. Overall pleasant and fun experience.Recommend to at least try this spot once 😁👍
Really wanted to love this place since covid caused my favorite chocolate shop to shut down.Ordered a hot chocolate and a couple of the speciality chocolate coffees. Hot chocolate tasted the exact same as a hot chocolate packet from the store and the coffees werent much better. Very disappointing.
I tried out this chocolate shop on Valentines Day to get my chocolate fix. The atmosphere of this chocolate shop was worth the experience. The chocolate shop has a trendy and elegant vibe. The owner is trying to go green, so menus are on tablets. There are numerous chocolate treats on display upfront, chocolate covered strawberries, mousses, truffles etc... The staff were beyond courteous and approachable. My boyfriend and I ordered two of their shakes, the Black Forest Cake and Cookies and Cream. The cookies and cream shake had better flavor all around as the Black Forest cake wasnt very chocolatey. If youre expecting to get a thick and creamy milkshake, this is not the place. The shakes tasted good, but were similar to chocolate milk consistency blended with ice. The shakes arent heavy, but have a light feel. The reason I have knocked a star off is the price. The shakes are smaller than expected. At $12.95 a shake, i expected more volume.Overall, i would come back here on occasion for a special treat, but the prices are somewhat off putting for the portion you receive.
Have been here 3 times all 3 times tried something new and so far nothing has disappointed me. Great place to go chat and enjoy something sweet with your friends.
Craving something decadent or an experience that will last you a lifetime? If you have a sweet tooth and a love for all things dark chocolate or fudge, then Sablon is the place for you. Their menu is filled with options to satisfy your tastebuds. From oreo cookie sundaes, tiramisu, flourless molten cake, brownie mountain sundae to crepes, theres something for everyone. Prefer something to balance the sweetness of your dessert? Enjoy a cup of tea or cappuccino. There are some COVID restrictions in place. With accessible menu via phone, mask requirements, continuous cleaning and limited guests allowed in facility at a time.
No flavors in the milkshake we purchased nor was chocolate lava moist enough. It was very clean and the options had a great presentation. Staff was friendly.
Very loud, no staff made any attempt to greet us and genuinely seemed to just not want us there so we took the hint and left.
I loved my visit here! My friend and I were the first customers of the day and we had a chance to really talk to the barista. He was attentive and showed us how to work the fancy digital menu and explained the drinks we were interested in. I ended up getting the caramel macchiato and my friend the cookie crumble. We enjoyed the lounge and our drinks. I’d definitely come here again in the future.
Good chocolate and service but overated/overpriced.
Was in Dallas for the weekend heard great things about this place so we decided to stop by for the dessert. This place will fulfill your cravings for having a sweet tooth. They have a variety of desserts that taste amazing. It’s located in downtown of Dallas and easy access for parking. Would highly recommend this place for any chocolate lovers!
Pros: Food is good especially their waffles and devil chocolate drink as well as the crepesCon: How in this age of technology that they do not have an online or phone ordering system? If I have a to-go order then I have to drive there and then wait 30 minutes for it to be ready
This place is alot smaller than the pictures show. Its like tiny tiny. Not the best idea for large groups just fyi. We sat outside which was fine. The shakes were good. The black forest cake was just okay. I really enjoyed my iced caramel macchiato tho and the staff was really friendly so thank you.
What we ordered and what the menu showed are completely different.. Very disappointing and deceiving…
We have been considerably spoiled here! We had a small cup of the ganache chocolate to sip on right upon arrival, and that was a perfect way to establish the setting. The fondue tray was good but just exactly what you would expect. It had sliced bananas, strawberries, pineapple, and green apple. Next came the tray with four of some kind of soft-Rice-Krispie-cross-cake with chocolate and ice cream on top, and of course a cherry on top of that, with a small bowl of ice cream (with a partial chocolate shell) and one of sliced strawberries. This plate was the most beautiful thing of the night, but it didnt seem to harmonize to me. Lastly, there was a plate with four truffles: double chocolate, lemon, white chocolate amaretto, and one other that I do not recall right now. The flavor was good on all, but the texture was more dense and dry than the creaminess I was expecting from the name truffle -- I am definitely no chocolate connoisseur or expert, though. (I just eat a lot of it.) Overall this was a solid four stars, but the great service and [especially the] liquid ganache for sipping topped it up to a five.
Very nice variety of chocolate candy and cakes. Understaffed but they were friendly and doing a good job!
Amazing chocolate, I mean to die for seriously! 2 star review is for the service, god forbid you come in just before closing and ask to have pre-made chocolates boxed up. Horrible absolutely terrible service! We even apologized for being an inconvenience coming in late. The girl serving us didnt even look up. As a business owner in the service industry this is completely unacceptable. If you want people to come in and pay ridiculously high prices for desserts, perhaps you should have your staff be a little more hospitable. Or change your hours. Cant recommend your place based on the service. Bad service makes bad flavors!
A nice place to get desserts. Pretty expensive though. Like the range is between $10 and $15. Totally worth it though.
Slow and Rude service for below average dessert. A group of women were here before me and waited for an hour for a milkshake which they never ended up getting and just left without due to frustration. Would not recommend.
Loved our experience here! The guy working was so kind and knowledgeable, and helped us decide what to order. We chose the chocolate avalanche, as we are true chocolate lovers (no chocolate is too rich) and it was amazing!! Will definitely be back and can’t wait to explore more of the menu.Yes, it’s a bit pricey - but the flavors, ambiance, and service are worth it!
Excellent atmosphere and staff is friendly. Food is decadent and delicious
Super cute and it’s like a little cafe. Has a lot of chocolate desserts, gets a full quickly when it’s busy since it’s small. They have to go available. There is parking right behind it which is great since the rest of the area mostly has parking in the street available.
Last evening, a female friend and I decided to drop in for an after dinner snack. This was our first time at Sablon. We asked the cashier ( Younger, light competition, wearing glasses, 28 * she later shared how old she was ) for recommendations. She gave honest opinions and was friendly as she was taking our order. We received our order and my friend and I continued to chat up until around closing time. We went to gather our things and leave when the cashier ( who was putting chairs on top of the tables ) said that we were fine and we still had time to relax as the store didnt close for another few minutes. We both asked if she was sure and she said yes. She then stated that she only puts them up because the younger kids would come in and think that its fine for them to sit and stay all night. As a former food service worker I could empathize with what she was saying. The young lady then went on to say that she hates the younger generation and when asked why she didnt give a direct answer but did state that she hates everything that children are being exposed too. At this point Im starting to get confused, but I ask for her to explain what she meant. She then says all the homosexual stuff thats being shoved down their throats. I was completely caught off guard with her saying this and Im sure it was written all over my face. She said that she shouldnt have this conversation at work but then added on to her statement by saying that parents should not be supporting children who choose to identify as other genders. She expressed her disgust at length. I went to rebuttal her statement but she interrupted me by explaining that she was bisexual ( as if this gave her the credentials to make such an egregious statement ). Im unsure how she didnt notice that I was uncomfortable with the conversation but she then went on to tell me about an encounter that she had when she was working at the Biscuit bar involving a young man ( 18 ) who confided in her after being hit on by a gay man. The entire encounter / conversation with this young lady was bazaar and left me upset. I cannot believe that she felt so comfortable having such a conversation with someone who she knew nothing about who also a guest of this establishment. I was so upset that I decided to call and speak with the general manager. When I finally reached someone via phone after asking to speak with the general manager, the cashier from that night answers ( I recognized her voice ). I asked if she worked that evening and she said yes, and asked if she was the young lady with glasses and she said yes. I then decided to politely end the call. I have been in a lot of situations, but never have I ever felt so uncomfortable in a business in my entire life. I do not believe that she is the general manager but if she is, she should be removed for making such disparaging and insensitive remarks.* I sent an email asking for someone to contact me and all that I received was a generic reply ( Not even sure how this person is associated with the business ) saying sorry and it would never happen again.Very unprofessional all the way around.
Desserts are good but not worth the rude service... everyone is rude lol. I’ve come twice so the rude service isn’t a fluke. Like, there is not one nice employee. Also, don’t bother coming within an hour of closing they begin limiting the menu to only items that are premade to clean the kitchen & they don’t post that anywhere or let you know as you walk in, you just start placing your order and they refuse it. Weird.
The waiter guy with moustache is very rude and unprofessional. He didnt want to clean up the table and obliged us to sit in a different place. He took off his mask on us and insulted us while everyone is looking at him. Moreover, the smoothie was very disgusting. I doubt that he spit in it. That was unhuman and unprofessional. Dont trust that guy anymore. If the manager is loyal, he would check the camera to see the rudeness of his employee.
Oreo lovers have to try the chocwich shake; you will not be disappointed!!
One of the best chocolate places, coffee, hot chocolate, mountain Lava cake, red velvet cake. And amazing shakes diffenitly recommend this place.
So classy! Its tastes so good. Definitely recommend!
I don’t have a major sweet tooth so I went along with my family. I enjoyed the tiramisu hot chocolate. Be careful not to burn your tongue. My favorite chocolate candies were the Sea salt caramel and the white chocolate Peppermint. The sea salt caramel had sea salt only on the outside and the rest was dark chocolate. I enjoyed it.
Whatever that chocolate brownie shake thing was amazing this place deserves better than a 3.9
What an amazingly delicious place! There are so many different treats here it’s almost impossible to choose which ones you want to try. I would definitely suggest going with a group of people so you can all try a lot of different ones. We got the chocolate fondue where you get to pick which items you dip in it, and then a savory hot chocolate! I definitely need a nap and glass of water afterwards, but for sure worth it!
Came as advertised. All desserts were great though a tad over priced. But finesse and the experience offered has its own value. Contrary to what I had read on earlier reviews nothing was stale. Everything tasted great and looked even better. The plastic cutlery was cheap and flimsy. The wait and seating restriction is a bit annoying but cant really be helped. Had a great experience. Will definitely come again
Coffee and dessert was good even if one item wasnt what I ordered.
Nothing special, over priced. Their cakes were very dry. Coffee was good. Not something that I would go back for seconds.
I ordered a strawberry hot chocolate and it was fantastic. I was offered to have my chocolate chip cookies warmed, and that is the only way to go.The deserts are amazing and the service is professional and friendly. If Im ever in the area again, I will 100% be returning!
This is one of our favorite dessert places. We love to order the crepes. We take our kids too, they love it. The chocolate is of good quality, def worth the price.
Sablon is a cute little shop, in my opinion. I loved the atmosphere. My drink was perfect.
I was excited about getting the big waffle milkshake. But when I realized all that chocolate down the side of the cup was completely wasted I didn’t really like that. Not really worth $15. They could’ve put a pretzel in there and covered it with chocolate. The lounge is pretty though
