Lone Star donuts is a vintage gem. I love that it hasn’t been modernized at all. The donuts are really great! I felt like the quality and the price and the friendly service were unmatched. Best donut shop in Texas hands down.

We were broke down in Dallas for 3 days while we had a transmission replaced in the truck. We were able to walk to this bakery. After the first day we would have walked 100 miles to have these donuts . By far the best weve ever had!

My Dad use to bring me here when I was a kid.

Fresh. No off flavors that can be encountered at other shops (like plastics). And pricing like its still 1980. I will forgive them if they raise the prices but keep the same quality.And popcorn thats crazy good. And people working there are decent and hardworking, thank you.

I am very disappointed that they dont sell donuts anymore they have some of the best donuts.

Highly disappointed! was told by an employee they nolonger sell donuts, they appearantly stopped selling October 2020. I went in there and it look sad all they had were prepackaged pastries.

I have been going to Lone Star Donuts since I was a little girl. Most of the time when me and my father went to visit family members in West Dallas, we stopped at Lone Star Donuts. My whole family use too stop there either going to West Dallas or coming back to Oak Cliff. They have day old Donuts that sale for cheap and that still taste delicious. Please, try the jelly rolls and the pretzel donuts.

Staff is always timely even when they have a full house. I look forward to a return visit. Prices were fair for the quality of the food. Kinda of like a place in Houston that I enjoyed.

Husband and I went here for the first time, I’ve been wanting to stop for a while after passing this place several times.. it was amazing! We were met with free first timer donuts 🍩 and we even picked up cinnamon rolls for later! We had so much food and just knew it would be a fortune! To our surprise it was around 6 bucks and the donuts blew me away!!! I can’t get the taste of the mouth watering cinnamon flavored donuts holes out of my mind, and I left with a smile and and a little history on one of Dallas’s hidden gems!!!I’m glad they are thriving through the pandemic as I hope many other of Dallas’s little shops are as well.

A favorite evening place of mine. The service was very helpful and welcoming. Makes me feel like I am back in Sacramento.

Purchased donuts this morning, young lady after placing donuts in bag while waiting for my money, scratching behind her ears with the gloves on, then takes my money and returns change with gloves on. In this season of Coronavirus, really need to be mindful. Yes you have on gloves but remember scratching behind ears and handling money =germs. Next time remove the gloves to handle money, as youve touched the food and try not to scratch behind your ears. Ill be heading back to Southern Maid.

Love this place! Highly recommend a stop at this donut shop. Found this gem about 10 years ago, always try to stop by when in the area. Recommended their apple fritters and cinnamon rolls. Customer service is always friendly, place seems pretty clean. If paying with credit card, must spend at least 5 dollars otherwise bring a few dollars if not buying a lot.

Ive driven by Lone Star Donuts for years and stopped in this morning at 7:30am to get coffee and donuts. I love how old (vintage?) the place is and I appreciate that it hasnt been updated in years which only adds to the nostalgic charm. However, Id hoped the donuts would be warm, perhaps hot because they were so fresh. At 7:30am, they were room temperature. Fresh, sure, but not made that morning if I had to guess. Either way, LSD is really cool place with a great selection of donuts that are reasonably priced. Id love to come back when the donuts are warm. 😊

This is the 3rd time I stopped by and its closed during business hours (before 2 pm) its disappointing that an established business that has been around for a long time cant keep their place open as promised.

Best cinnamon rolls i ever tasted from a donut shop

This place holds sweet childhood memories. My father would take me along with my sisters and buy us donuts and bear claws when we were children. We still love them 40+ years later. Today I take my grandchildren. My father is deceased but the memory will live forever. They are still the best donuts & jelly rolls in town!!!

Terrible donuts. I purchased the kolache or pig in a puff and it is in edible. Also the donut holes are super rubbery and not good at all either. Unfortunately I had to throw all of the food away because it was so bad. Will not be going back.

Been looking around for a cinnamon roll for 4 months now coz im new in dallas.. been visiting bunch of donut shops and finally i found the best one here.. big sizes and the taste really impressed me..super amazing price.. plus they close at 6pm.. you wouldnt be in a hurry and waking up early just to get some donuts.. love the people too..

Hello everyone.This review is for (Lone Star Donuts). I dont visit this store often, but when Im in need ofa sweet treat and Im in the area. Lone Star Donuts is my go to shoppe. The staff here are friendly, helpful and happy to answer any questions about the wonderful sweet Treats sold here. The one issue that I had with the shoppe was in the 21st century they didnt take debt cards. But dont let that stop you from dropping by for a treat that would put a smile on anyones face that you choose to share with.Until next time happy motoringMean 2-U

Cheap food. cheap price. Fills you up with out hurting your wallet. The glaze donuts icing is not consitence. All the other donuts are all ways great value and taste great.

I wonder if this is the same Lone Star Donuts that had a shop on Gus Thomasson Road near Ferguson in Dallas back in the 70s?If it is, OMG......THE BEST FREEKIN DONUTS IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!No....THE most PERFECT donut!!!!!The shop closed down soon after we moved to the area back then, and dont know why they closed down, they were ALWAYS packed....never could find a parking spot open!

My mom use to take me to this very shop every friday during the summer. Sometimes she would just bring large boxes of cream cheese danishs home for the weekend. Now I take my kiddos here sometimes before school. I would never go anywhere else for donuts.

Nothing fancy. I prefer the corner donut shops over this one. They just weren’t fresh. Also witnessed the woman in the front be rude to a man that works in the back. Don’t do that in front of customers.
