Great museum and overall experience. Quite educational but I wish there was some guide or audio tour also available. We haven’t seen that option. Maybe because we came on the back to school day and there were lots of kids, live music, some swag stations, etc. It was hard to make it to all the stations and pay attention. We liked that you can see lots of things up close!

Some fairly significant history as well as extremely rare exhibits on display, such as the first ever Pilot license issued, SR-71 Blackbird engine, flight simulator, and flight jacket (which originally cost $250,000 and were contested by Congress as they didnt understand the special requirements of classified Skunkworks planes,) Admiral Birds polar expedition fur suit, Apollo capsule that returned from orbit and shows the extreme heat upon reintry (bubbling glass window, and entire outside is burned to a crisp,) the Flying Pancake; Vought V-173 (only one was ever built.) At the time I was visiting I was seeing some stages being set up for later events after the museum closes, which reminds me of the one hosted for my brothers rehearsal dinner (which was also catered by my family.)

My father and I decided to go to the Frontiers of Flight Museum near Dallas Love Airport. Being aviation enthusiasts and WW2 history buffs, we found the Frontiers of Flight Museum very interesting with quality information! They have a multitude of different WW2 bomber planes, Apollo 7 command module, a Southwest commercial 737 plane, and a great display of Southwest and it’s history. In addition, the museum displays an interesting history of Braniff Airways and its fall. Overall, it was a great experience and is very informative of all things aviation!

The Frontiers of Flight Museum lives up to its name because it highlights many of the cutting edge advancements along humanities path from earth to the stars. With multiple types of aircraft on display from helicopter to piston engine propeller craft through passenger jet, military jet and space craft. Board a vintage Southwest Boeing 737 prominently displaying historical memorabilia including a motorcycle. See an actual Apollo command module which orbited earth, an early version of a supersonic cruise missile and multiple fighter jets including a newly acquired Blue Angels F/A-18 Hornet! This place has it all including the only surviving example of a Vought Flying Pancake... whats that you ask? Come find out! Did i mention there parking lot is adjacent Dallas Love Field Airport and is a great place for plane spotting.

Attended the museum for a fund raising event. This is cool museum for aviation fans. Younger kids will enjoy the wide open spaces to explore. Also has a kids playground. There is a Southwest aircraft you can walk into. The museum could have more interactive exhibits but you can nevertheless spend a couple of hours here especially if there is museum guide with pilot or military experience. Highly recommended museum.

Cute museum. Not much going on inside but for $10.00 the price is fair. I would not go out of my way to visit, but if you’re in the area stop by and take a look. If you work in aviation you will get through this museum in about 45 minutes. Many of the exhibits are recreations. As an example many of the munitions on the fighters are clearly made from pipe. They’re not even demilitarized or well done replicas. The A7 and RF-8 are in such bad shape, their tires are flat and struts depleted. The aircraft here are not taken care of. The F-105 was falling apart and a volunteer was on top of it with a leaf blower and spray paint trying to make it look better. This place has a lot of potential.

If youre in to models, this is the place for you. If youre looking for an aviation museum, this probably isnt the place you want to go. We received a map with the few aircraft in the museum; on of the aircraft was SR-71. I asked if they really had an SR-71 and the response was No, but we have parts that were used on an SR-71. If you dont have the plane, dont list it.The site also lists things like Missiles, which are scaled models. This was a disappointing trip.

100% worth the admission fee of a mere 10$ per adult. Clearly designed for aviation enthusiasts, they have all sorts of aircraft, a sitting area with windows overlooking the runway with a speaker relaying radio communications, and the parking lot itself also looks out onto the runway, and the whole thing is under the takeoff path, so the entire time you periodically hear planes taking off. I highly recommend going if youre an aviation enthusiast, and I highly recommend going with aviation enthusiast friends.
