I really like their tamales but frequently when I go on they are out of tamales. They only sell 6 kinds. Today at noon they don’t have any of the 3 types of jalapeño tamales. It’s such a gamble to drive over. Please be more consistent in your availability of offerings
LONG TIME LOVE AFFAIR❣️I am a 75 year old woman, who was born and raised in San Antonio. I have loved tamales all my life and these are as good as my sweet Hispanic Momo made.We moved to Dallas when I was pre-teen and eventually found this place and have been loyal ever since. When I married, we settled in Garland and now I can no longer drive- but every year when my son asks what I want for my birthday - the answer is always the same - my favorite tamales, please.PS - To the lady that wrote a prissy rude review, saying these were not authentic because they are not spicy - raspberries !!!!!These are perfection - delicate seasoning done just right - their flavor is just what it should be; feelfree to drown yours in hot sauce and hopefully, apologize to these fine people.
Never eaten there but reading the comments... many of you say they have no flavor... if youre buying frozen tamales, you do know you have to cook them in very salted water right? The steaming process evaporates the salt so you need to cook them in salted water
Fast very fast cashier. Line goes down pretty fast! Good food
Yes that taste open up your mind of good. Mex. 🥝🥑🥝🥑🥑🥝
Im sorry, that I visited the location I Oak Cliff today. The purchase was 2 dozen of Pork Tamales. The Tamales were Horrible no seasoning at ALL. HOW can you make Tamales and NOT season them. As they say, a bought lesson is a taught lesson. 👌 Somebody need to visit Mexico 1 week and learn how to make a Cultral Mexican HOT Tamale. YOU MISSED THE MARK, BUT THEN AGAIN FOR 2 YEARS I LIVED 2 HOURS FROM MEXICO 🇲🇽 SO IM ACCUSTOMED TO THE REAL DEAL. THIS MY LAST VISIT.
Great tamales! Fresh and hot pork tamales, pico de gallo, and chips!!! The best!
Good people with excellent customer service experience C . D. C protocols followed and obeyed
Fresh and hot pork tamales made my taste buds sing with joy!!!
This is a small place in Dallas Texas that sells tamales and tortillas. The tamales are really good. You can buy them already cooked or frozen. You can also buy smaller items such as Pico, red, or green salsa to go with them. The price is moderate. This is not a place where you can sit down and eat so everything is purchased to go.
Great Tamalees alot greasy thats the only thing I didnt like but they tasted awesomeStaff is friendly in and out fast
I enjoyed there tamales mundo good too
Food was good, was hoping for hot or warm tamales but they only had frozen at the time.
Great service as always. Was disappointed to see they did not take LoneStar for payment anymore & store was not stocked like I remember.
They make tamales and tortillas. All without artificial ingredients. Salsas have just a few ingredients. Love the place. Its a hidden gem
The absolutely the best place for tamales! Love you guys!
Tamales greatly improved last few years
I bought the pork w/jalapeño and the chicken. They are the size of a finger and they are not spicy at all. I also bought the menudo which to my surprise does not have pozole!! Who makes menudo without pozole!!! No Manches!! They also do not include onion and cilantro! Sorry but not used to this type of tex- Mex food because I would definitely not call it authentic Mexican food.
Reminds me of my childhood, when dad would take me to grab tamales.
Nothing to see here. Oh, but there are tamales for days and are good!
Ive been eating tamales and menudo here since I was a kid. More then 30 yrs. The tamales taste the same. The green salsa is good a little salty, but good. Even though the tamales dont sometimes dont seem as fresh as they did years back, they are still good.
I love this place. I ordered two lenguas and they are delicious. The employees are always nice.
Tamales are good and they have great deals buy 2 get 2 free on frozen dozen tamales
Been going to this place for years to get tamales. They never disappoint
Best tamales made fresh. And great salsa also.
I prefer simple tortillas without all the added preservatives and ingredients. They have been around over 60 yrs but instead of homemade like grandmas they were a step above the grocery store. Not the best, not the worst. Too bad they didnt offer organic or just the simple recipe style like you can get at a mom and pop tortilla factory. Just a bit over produced. Tamales were great though.
I was promised over the phone that they would have plenty of fresh warm tamales on Christmas Day. I arrived at 8am and all they had was frozen tamales!!! They acted like they sold out of fresh tamales but I’m not buying it and I won’t be coming back for anymore frozen tamales! 😡
Great tamale prices fresh or frozen. Choose regular chicken, beef or pork. They also have spicy beef which is my favorite. This location also gets 5 stars for cleanliness!
Tamales are good but prices are to high
Ive been go in to this establishment since I was young. It has always been 5 stars until today on 9/20. The tamales were great as usual, however the personnel and the environment were not. As soon a I walked in you can very vulgar music playing. Then you see girls who a probably barely 15yrs dancing to it. If you want to listen to that on your own time then thats on them, but not during work hours. You will drive away new customers. Also some of the girls looked to have attitude problems when talking to the customers. Hopefully they can undergo better training that way tho place can stay the good establishment I know.
I purchased their pico de gallo and it was spoiled!! FYI: once you purchased it, check it in your car!! I got home and had to throw it away. Its not like I live close by. I shouldve called to let them know. SMH.
Love the tamales. But I bought too many. Lol
7/10. We were in the mood to find the best tamales. Im giving Dallas Tortilla & Tamale Factory a 7 out of 10. The meat to masa ratio is inconsistent at times. They lacked a little bit of flavor and the last few tamales at the bottom of the container were wet which made them taste a little like that were not cooked all the way but I would definitely buy them again. They were hot which made them ready to eat as soon as I got home. Adding a little salt or dipping them in salsa added the little bit of missing flavor. Overall, not to bad.
Love these tamales delish. Line around the building but went fast. Highly recommended! MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎅 🎄
You can never go wrong here. My weekend spot to breakfast up for the fam
I tried placing an order online, over the phone and even picking up in person for Christmas eve. I was not successful. I was told that the cut off was almost two weeks prior to christmas. It would have been nice if someone had said something to me over the phone.
Always on point,never disappointed.
We drove awhile to get chicken tamales. They were out of fresh ones but the owner came out to us in the parking lot and asked what we needed. He went inside and brought us out frozen ones. Great customer service.
Great tamales! My favorite is jalapeno pork, but you cant go wrong with any of them. Pico, red sauce and green sauce available
So I’ve always known about this place. I grew up on it. So my boyfriend and I wanted some menudo and unfortunately Tia Doras was closed already so I called here. Immediately the girl answering the phone was rude! 11/22/2020.Fast forward, my boyfriend gets there and she is being super rude to him and getting an attitude. Reading other reviews and this seems to be a problem to others. I guess they don’t care because she’s still there. Must be a family member.Would’ve given 5 stars but just because this is oak cliff doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give good costumer service.
Very disappointing they should stick to what the do best tortillas. Stop selling food thats not good.
Tamales were good. But greasy..
I got chicken tamales they were very dry and had a horrible smell. Also, if youre looking for good customer service than lower your expectations because thats a no go
If you need a year round tamale fix, this is the place! They also have carmitas, barbacoa, and pork by the pound. The tamales are frozen or you can get them heated. They have extras of tortillas for any dish you want to make. No photos cuz we ate the last batch in less than 24hrs!
Friendly people and good tamales.
Ordered fresh pork tamales and frozen chicken tamales. Both had way too much lard or fat and were lacking taste and flavor. They just tasted thick and tasteless.
They are always delicious. I do wish that the chicken tamales werent as spicy. I was sad that my menudo did not have any of that wonderful homey. I did not get one piece of the the the delicious corn. It did hit the spot on a cold fall morning menudo and a few dozen tamales, brings back childhood memories. 🍁😊👌👍🥣🍽 I loved it.
They pricey but good place to get a bulk of tamales if they have them in stock because they go fast
Staff was really friendly and food was good
Purchased pico de gallo and a pack of tortillas. The pico was pretty good and I would definitely buy it again. However, I originally made the drive to buy tortillas so I was pretty disappointed when I tasted them and they werent homemade. Rather they were like your everyday store bought tortillas...
Best tamales in 50 miles radius. Plus homemade chips and salsa.
Not good tamales taste not good, place not clean.prices so high.! Really dont recommend this place 😕 tamales not so good kids not even say good morning not friendly people! Place not cleaning!..
Wish they had chicken w/ jalapenos, beef tamales are great
Easily the nastiest tamales I have ever had. They were DRIPPING in grease yet dry and the masa was over-flavored and really dark. I have never seen greasy tamales and I’ve eaten my weight in them. I threw them in the trash. The one star is for tacos which were absolutely delicious.
The Place for X-Mas Pork Tamales with Jalepinos in Corn Shucks. Sold as Takeout by the dozens.Cpaige
Best tamales in dfw. Thank God for keeping us busy
Beef tamales on point, chicken tamales need more seasoning or maybe a spicy chicken tamale option.
Love this place
Good tamales at a reasonable price. Very tasty!!!
Always the best. I cant make them myself. So !
Trash, tell how at 7am everything is so old. Really?
The tamales are SO good! We will be back from more.
Very disappointed for what for. They only had pork tamales.
Good hot tamales!
Best tamales!!
Corn tortillas are really good, they hold up when making enchiladas. The tamales are good but they are greasy. Overpriced but still love them. Had to wait in a line to get in, 15 mins.
I went to pick up the tamales this morning .To be honest i have not eaten the tamales yet. But i would like to recommend that the owners do a thorough cleaning of the place there are crumbs at the bottom of the freezer everywhere. Plus, the counter area had dust and crumbs around the register. The place i know is an older building. But, it does seem unhygienic to have unkempt surroundings when preparing food or selling food.
This place has the best tamales that I have tried this is my opinion. The price for a dozen is 10.00. They also my their own nacho chips. I would tell anyone about this place
Tamales were no good.
Went to support local business, in return we received bad customer service, place wasnt clean and on top of that the tamales were horrible, if you enjoy WET tamales this place maybe for you, total waste of money
Their tamales are the best. I went back to order vegetarian tamales but was shocked to discover I had to order 5 dozen of each kind. Nowhere on their flyer/menu does it mention that. Needless to say, I left without ordering any. I understand why they do that but, that should be noted on the flyer/menu. Loss of one star for that. Four stars because everything else about them is amazing!
This place is my always go to for amazing tamales! I order 2 dozen just because I can eat a whole dozen alone! I love the green sauce over the red! They are cooked right and have enough meat in each one. Dont pass up this gem of a place!
Having relocated from the Chicago area with many stores to choose from, this place has a very limited selection. We went there to get their mass but they were out of it, so we decided to try their tamales. The tamales were salty but with a decent flavor. The freshly made tortillas were hard. The parking lot is poorly designed with very few spaces
I was disappointed in the tamales. The menudo was fair.
My whole family has visited dallas tortilla and tamale factory since they were in the little mexico area.
Chicken and pork tamales are so good! Wish I had known you had to special order the spinach and cheese, but will know for the next time! Not greasy and full of meet. Perfect amount of masa💕. These are right up there with those our dear friend’s wife would make for us at the farm’.
Very good flavor and pricesThe service not so much
The food is good the service was good cant say much more than that
The tamales are great! They have chicken, beef and pork, all are good. We prefer pork, but they offer other item like barbacoa as well, yummy!
Good tamales
I love it but the food runs out to fast
Pork tamales are so delicious.. chicharrones (pork cracklings), barbacoa are always on point (available weekends only). Ive been buying Dallas Tortilla products for many years. I remember as a little girl my parents would take us on the weekends to buy menudo & barbacoa. I remember going into a little shack / building . The location was off Harry Hines near downtown area.
Good
Always great quality products and great service.
Tamales are good, I had beef spicy. Could have seen a little bit spicier. Tamales could be a little bit more with sauce. So far the best place for my family, for now.
Always hot and fresh. Excellent customer service. Drive from Keller Tx for them
We use this place when we eat tostadas........ Dont forget the green salsa....... Best tostada place in the world Craig
How can you not LOVE this place! Dallas icon! Bought 20 dozen for the holidays and need more
The food and service here is unbelievable! Absolutely everything was delicious, we cant wait to have this a second time.
The best tamales ever
The tamales are horrendous we bought the beef and jalapeno one they didnt taste like jalapeno and they didnt even taste it like beef same with the chicken it didnt taste like chicken.
Food always right
To be a Tamale Factory did not have many choices on Tamales..however it was during the Christmas rush..next time..will get there earlier.🤔🤔
