I am from out of town and ran into a situation where I needed some fast cash. Stopped in to Hat City ( because of the website). It was clean well organized and you could tell it was well run. Andy and Bobby gave me a fair price and it helped me out. The guys were awesome and and had a nice chat about the area. They made the process painless and professional.. I am from the deep south and they treated me like I was a local, felt good. Check them out you will not be disappointed.

Went In about 3 weeks ago and was going to sell my pistol because of a move. Andy, the manager was able to convince me to keep it and that he could help me out with the shipment of my firearm to a new FFL certified shop to my new location. There is not a chance I can believe any of these 5 star reviews. I have been to plenty of pawn shops. The prices here are insane. Also, there are signs in the front that say masks required but neither of the guys working there (owners) had a mask on and they required you to remove your mask when you came in just so the cameras can see. Talk about hypocrites. Money hungry as well.

They sell my son ps4 that doesnt work, my son contact the store and guy wasnt that cooperative,he dont respect it was my grandson birthday gift, he treat my son and grandson very bad,like he dont need the costumers, bad buissness

When I walked into the Pawn shop I was barely greeted by a dude who, right off the bat, looked like I was inconveniencing him by showing up. I had two handguns to sell, both of them unfired and new. When I told him they were new and unfired, he inferred I was lying, even though he didn’t even investigate. He didn’t even open the chamber on either gun, much less inspect them. He plugged values into the computer, not even knowing the brand name, asked me zero questions, didn’t even ask the caliber (one of them looks identical and comes in .45 as well, no way of knowing except asking).I had a bunch of new accessories, including two full-grain leather holsters with both guns, didn’t even bother to take a look at any of them at all.The dude’s a joke. I have the best competition pistol on the planet and he didn’t even know what it was, lol. I’d suggest going elsewhere if you want to be taken seriously.

I attended with a group of 6 others the NRA pistol permit class. Doug was an incredible instructor. He engaged me and in order for me to learn I need engagement. I would take his course a million times over. Wonderful staff there and amazing instructor. He made us feel welcome and safe especially during the live fire portion of the course. Highly recommend using Doug at Hat City Pawn for your NRA Course.

Not sure why I couldn’t return a broken laptop they sold me after they closed there shop down the day after I got the laptop due to the virus that’s going around.... not to mention the laptop was way over priced for being broken and they won’t even return some of the money at least... this place is a joke your better off going to yankee pawn on main st

Ive been going to Hat City for about 2 years mainly for firearm purchases and transfers, all of the guys are friendly and willing to haggle. Prices on guns are probably the lowest in the area and they are very fair with offers when I went in to sell a few guns (remember theyre sitting on that stuff you sell! They need to make money too!).All in all they treat you right and make you want to keep coming back, especially if youre a gun guy like me ; )

Wow wow wow, to say this place is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE is a true understatement. Today i found an old necklace i had for years and decieded to go down to Hat City in torrington to see if it was of value? As soon as i opened the door i was greeted with such a extraordinarily beautiful and comforting welcome. The manager Bill was so genuine and real, i felt right at home, then, to my suprise Bill told me that my necklace was actually pure gold and i received a large sum of cash. Bill was so extremely honest and upfront w me about everything, the prices of gold, the ways to check if in fact it is real gold and exactly what it was worth. I have never had such an experience of this sort ever. I was tickled pink to know that there really are true honest, genuine people out their. We went in to get a loan for a $5,000 (it has been appraised) diamond ring, the brunette dude behind the counter insinuated that it wasnt worth much money at all. It has been professionally appraised for insurance purposes. I wanted a small loan to pay off next week. When I told the man I knew a lot about jewelry and that it was worth quite a bit, he became annoyed with me and told me it wasnt worth his while to loan me anything much for the ring at all. He was very rude and doesnt like to be questioned, even politely about what he says.

Andy, the manager at the Danbury location, has been very helpful on several visits. If I cannot find what I want to purchase, he is helpful in recommending places that I can find a better deal. I also have gone through this store for firearm transfers and they are definitely less expensive than other local ffls.The customer service alone is a reason to stop in.

I have nothing but the best to say about this Pawn Shop. They are professional, honest and have an excellent return policy. I bought a laptop with Win 8 that I just wasnt thrilled with. No questions asked, they promptly exchanged and I made out like a bandit! This laptop had win 7 and a 17 monitor and was like brand new. It was such an excellent experience! I have been to other Pawn Shops that just felt sleazy to me. Trust me...you will have a great experience and my laptop is just the greatest! When it comes to electronics and othe products they are reasonable. but when it comes to silver coin and silver and gold jewelry they are nothing but thieves.i went there the other day with a bunch of silver. after weighing it out the employee torn to who i beleave is the owners son, and they began to whisper to each other. he finally came to me and offerd me $350. now if i was a crack head or needed the $ that instant i prolly would have taken it. but with me knowing what the price of silver that day was i was shocked at the offer. so i went to a place right over the boarder in Brewster NY and they without and issue gave me $575.. unless you kneed a quick fix, take the 10 min drive to brewster and make more $.
