This place used to be wonderful when Chris was the owner. A few weeks ago it suddenly changed ownership, and the new people are not nearly as friendly. They also don’t seem to know what they’re doing. My mom asked for Johnnie Walker Red from behind the counter, and the clerk didn’t even know what it looked like! It’s convenient for grabbing some wine after shopping at Market Basket, but I’d almost rather go up the street to Total Wine because the staff are actually competent.

I stop in maybe once a month for wine only and love that they have plenty of parking. A decent selection (Line 39, Josh, 19 Crimes and a variety of Sauvignon Blancs in the refrigerated case). Not as cheap as Total Wine but convenient in a pinch. The owners are so, so nice and lovely to chat with. If they dont have what you want, Kris is helpful in recommending something similar. One time he recommended a white wine because my regular Pinot Grigio was out of stock. Even though his recommendation was $3 more, he honored the lower price of the wine they were out of. He genuinely cares about what they sell and is knowledgeable about different varieties. An easy quick stop if youre near the Danvers Market Basket plaza.

They apparently make up their own hours and close early when they feel like it!
