We got two sandwiches today. The Jack London was turkey, bacon, and avocado. It was quite tasty and the bread was excellent. The Texas Clucker sandwich was very good. The restrooms were clean and the staff was helpful.

High quality food items, fresh produce. It has hard-to-find international foods. Nugget is known for its friendly staff.

The Mercedes S class of groceries. Not to say its expensive or overpriced. Its not. What I mean is that if you are looking for an interesting or higher-end item, you are more likely to find it here than another chain. Nugget essentially bridges the gap between large grocery and boutique specialty store with a level of customer service increasingly rare in any realm these days. I get groceries almost nowhere else.

Nuggets is a upper scale grocery store compared to Safeway. However, there are some gems you can find at Nugget. The meats are almost always or most of the time cheaper than Safeway but definitely higher quality. My favorite aspects of Nuggets are that they carry a lot of international items and have a lot of different variety of the same item. They had like 6 variations of brioche buns! The short ribs here are delicious.

A good place for a casual meal. Excellent bakery. Deli, takeout counters. Also great coffee. You can get some great high quality food and beverages and there is very nice seating outside. Their grocery are too notch.

Very well stocked and great location. Most of my experiences have been great. But it only takes one time with an annoyed cashier to ruin it. My kids take small toys during our grocery shopping. While scanning my items the cashier picked up one of them that was left in the cart and asked with a really bad attitude ‘What’s this!?’ It took me by surprise since the other cashiers are nice. I will definitely avoid this cashier in the future I don’t have time to deal with people like this.

The Nugget us such a great grocery store. Love their produce and all of the fresh, local, mom and pop items. Not your normal big box store.

I was a cheese monger for 20+ years, 14 of those for Whole Foods. This Nugget has the best cheese case Ive seen in years. Wonderful selection, lovingly cared-for product, and friendly, enthusiastic mongers. If I wasnt on a grad student budget Id buy cheese here every week, but once a month for a splurge will have to suffice. Bravo!

This is where I go for cheese advice. The rest of the store is nice, the product they have is robust and interesting. Expect to pay more for basic products that you can find elsewhere for much cheaper. The produce section is okay however it is a galley so once you enter it is difficult to turn around if you passed by something. Once a small crowd gets going you are in it for the duration of that section. Ive had experiences across the board here.

I was doing Lyft on 12-7-20 and I had a passenger that I was dropping off around the corner from this store 🏬. I had to go to the bathroom and was suggested to go here. I walked in and literally was blown 😳 back when I walked 🚶🏽‍♀️down the produce section. The way the vegetables 🌽 were stacked was like nothing I’ve ever had seen 👀😱 before ‼️ Everything looked so fresh and clean and inviting ‼️ I was wowed at how beautiful & delicious 😋 it looked. I walked out of the bathroom and My eye 👁 was caught by the wide variety of herbs 🌿 and spices. It was like I was in a Whole Foods store, which Williams Whole Foods in Richmond California is one of my favorite stores! This Nugget store may become another favorite! I gotta go back and visit it again. I’d never heard of it before but now I know about it! Go check it out! Even the meat 🥩 🍖 was clean and fresh looking.

Great store with a great selection! Cheeses, wines, meats, fruit, vegetables, plus all the standard canned and boxed goods, and some good ethnic options as well. Excellent baked goods - the Dutch Crunch is great with their soups. The deli always has a nice selection as well.

Great bakery, expensive grocery, decent produce.Come to Nugget if you want something fancy from their deli or bakery, such as their amazing pasta salads, roasted chickens, fresh salsas, quiche, or pastries. Their custom cakes are exceptional, and they have a flipbook full of cartoon characters and other kid favorites to choose from for decorations (see photo), just ask the bakery staff.However, Nugget is not a great place to shop for everyday goods. Shelf stable foods like breads, cereals, and condiments have a jaw-dropping price mark-up at Nugget. For example, I just saw the type of mustard I normally get at Safeway for $2.50 for $5 there. The prices are often poorly labeled too, so be careful if youre trying to shop thrifty!

A medium-fancy grocery store.

We moved to Davis from the Bay Area and were immediately impressed by Nugget. The store carries everything we need and more (the butcher, deli, bakery, cheese counter, and wine aisle are all fantastic). But we were really blown away by the staff - everyone is friendly and accommodating.

Awesome supermarket! Has the vibe of a Whole Foods, except not nearly as pricey. I never thought I would call a supermarkets produce section beautiful to look at, but thats how I would describe it as this store. Prices are very reasonable, especially given how high-quality the fresh food is

Whoever baked the muffins today- WOW! The blueberry muffins were just amazing delicious. I love Nugget. You can get so much good grab and go food and I also enjoy the sushi :)

OMGOSH, what a grocery store here in Davis, CA! A butcher display of fresh fish, shellfish, pork chops, lamb chops, and PRIME cuts of meats. Cheeses local and imported (you can taste before buying); excellent wine selections; freshly packaged boxed lunches and dinners; and oh so much more! Impressive selection of Organic fruits & veggies. Expect to drop $$$s when shopping here as the temptations are great. Top off all this with friendly & helpful staff. Wow, what a grocery store!

Nugget is super clean. A really beautiful market to be in. I dont go here often but have always had fun interactions with employees when I do shop here. Can be a little more pricey, but well worth it.

I love nugget markets because of the high quality food. I especially love it now because the staff and customers all wear masks. They sanitize baskets after each use and staff must do temperature checks. Great safe practices

Shop here almost every day. Have provided feedback on this market in the past. Great service. Courteous clerks. Wide selection of products in deli, produce, bakery, fish/meat, and grocery departments. North Davis store has more square footage than the one in south Davis but the shopping experience is comparable.

Nugget has a lot of high quality grocery items and the prepared food in the deli section is pretty tasty. Its a little too expensive to be my go-to grocery store, but there are some things you can find at a reasonable price. For example, their prepared sushi is about the same price as the prepared sushi at Safeway, but Nugget has more variety. It is a great place to go for preparing a nice cheese sampler for a party or if you need to pick up some baked goods.

Nugget--so much Fab stuff--so little time! Everything needed/wanted for Xmas day feast shopped this morning. Store and patrons surprisingly festive/mellow today. Most everyone polite & considerate of others. Staff extremely helpful and most pleasant from coffee bar to deli to checkout. Even helped me out to car with cartfull; just doesnt get any better than that!! Many thanks for accommodating last minute change in plans--so appreciated. Top notch employees!!!

Scout at the cheese counter was OUT OF THIS WORLD HELPFUL!!! I went last minute to buy cheese wheels to make my own wedding cake with stacked cheese. Scout helped find the wheels of cheese I was looking for, sampled the ones I was looking at, and advised pairings. I am so thankful for all the help! I hope I get another opportunity to buy whole wheels of cheese from here again.

Wonderful experience here! Price is a lot more expensive than Safeway/Savemart so its a little hard to shop here as a college student, but the quality is amazing. I didnt catch his name but the employee who orders the candy is a very nice gentleman. This place also has a wonderful vegetarian section which my girlfriend enjoys.

Very clean and wide variety of choices. The fruits and vegetables section is massive and very inviting as it greets you as you walk into the main entrance. The prices are a bit steep, but they offer discounts and have many items on sale, and the quality is much better than the discount supermarkets in Davis. Overall, you can find many things you like with quality and freshness and lots of organic selections. Personally, I prefer to go to Co-op, where there are a lot of healthy and organic choices, and its also closer to home. But Nugget is probably the best and biggest markets in town.

Some items are extremely overpriced compared to elsewhere. However, quality for certain items like produce is generally better.

I love shopping here. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. They have lots of organic produce and carry hard-to-find brands of specialty foods.Prices are a little higher, but the store is better maintained and nicer than a cheaper supermarket. Parking is free and ample.

Gorgeous store, excellent food, well-organized inventory, and warm responsive customer service. The only downsides are the layout (crowded entry area by separate produce section) and general crowds. The South Davis location is smaller, but is much calmer and easier to navigate.

Wow!!! Is a great market. Everything is so fresh. The vegetable,fruit and the meats!! 🙃 the employees are very helpful. I am happy that I found everything I needed to make a delicious Baby back ribs dinner for tonight. I will make sur that my son brings me back to this market in my next visit to see my grandbaby 👶🥰

Beautiful place

The staff is nice, and the merchandise is good quality, however, everything is marketed as a political statement. If I want iced coffee, I cant just get iced coffee because that is what I want to drink. It has to be a virtue signal to everyone else that I support the bold statements labeled on the bottle. I would prefer a store that had good products, but where I dont have to make a political statement with each purchase.

Posh expensive and fake trader joes. But their seasalt crackers are amazing. Still some unique stuff here but their business model is all wrong. There is no war in ba-sing-se...

Shopping at this location is great but with covid-19 this market may sometimes be overly crowded. I love the food choices available but some items are alittle pricey. Employees are kind and helpful though. Customers are impatient and rude due to social distancing. Learn to live and be kind everyone! We are all trying to survive this pandemic during these trying times.

One of the best Grocery stores in Davis. Maybe the best, but you definitely pay for it. Produce and meat departments are excellent and diverse. The deli makes a great sandwich at a good value, l would go there regularly if I lived closer, but the fact I dont live close saves me money.

Best grocery store ever! Ive been shopping at the Nugget since 1999 and there is no equal. The prepared food is restaurant quality, the specialty food is vast, the produce and meat are the freshest you will find at a major grocery store. The beer selection is awesome as well. Honestly though what I love most about the Nugget are the people. All Nugget locations I have been to have friendly and genuinely kind people, but the Covell store is unsurpassed in the level of high quality staff. In a world filled with unhappy workers its refreshing to go to a store where people look and act happy to be working. Part of my daily unwinding from work is a trip to the Nugget. Love this store!

Fruit and veggies are about the same price as Safeway (I dont buy organic at either place) although the peaches are $4/lb here and $1/lb at Safeway right now. Meat is waaaaay more expensive here, as are a lot of the household goods and canned/jarred items. The bread here is absolutely wonderful and they have the milk in the 1/2 gallon jars that I love. I would say the quality of food here is similar to Safeway and the can really get you on the small stuff if you dont pay attention. I will always come back here for the fresh bread and milk though.

Favorite grocery store in the world so far! Awesome sandwiches and coffee bar. Great selection of unique snacks and alternative foods, in addition to the staples. I havent found many stores where you can get both out of the box and normal food in the same place, which makes it an easy one stop shop for me. Its better than Whole Foods in terms of both selection and prices. Only down side is that you cant find Nuggets everywhere!

Forget Disneyland. The flagship Nugget in Davis has been my happiest place since my first stop there in 2005. Used to love biking over from Napa and relaxing on the patio, looking out on that field and old barn. (Before the gargantuan housing development.) To this day my favorite grocery store in the country. Staff is amazing too.

This store is like no other. Every time Im in Davis, have to make a trip to Nugget. The produce is amazing as are the fruit and veggies. Like to grab some hot food or sandwich when stopping here. Wide selection of beer and waters.

Always friendly staff, and the food quality is very good. Its a bit pricey for a number of things, but its hard not to like my local Nugget. They have a great hot food bar and an excellent bakery. They even make sandwiches to order, though I didnt think too much of them.

This is not my regular Nugget-- its much better! They have a huge selection of produce. It spills out the front doors and the smell of ripe nectarines is intoxicating! Nice variety of specialty items too.

Store has great produce and fresh fish. Only place in town I know of with Nordic Naturals fish oil supplements.

Really good product selection but customer service is a little iffy. The older employees are always attentive and professional, but the younger staff seem more intent on talking with each other, or making small talk than doing their job. Ive had bread loaves smashed and fruit bruised because products were placed atop of them. The last time I shopped there (and probably will be my last big shopping trip there) a courtesy clerk bagged the bottle of Drano I purchased alongside some fresh food items in the same bag. The time before that (during the height of COVID hysteria), someone working at the seafood counter attempted to provide service to me without wearing a mask or gloves. Just to see how far it would go i let them grab the seafood I selected from the counter then I went back and got the same exact thing from a different employee who was wearing a mask and gloves (I did not purchase the first round of seafood selections). Ill obviously keep shopping there, but I wont be spending hundreds of dollars per grocery trip like I had been doing. That place is too expensive to get that kind of service. I may as well go to Safeway for that kind of experience.

The food and produce are fresh and well displayed. The prepared food is very good. The coffee and tea drinks can be consumed in a cafe in the store. Smoothies can be made from fresh fruit and vegetables bought in the produce section of the store.

I’m consistently underwhelmed by the options for vegans when I shop here. Of the brands of food that I buy, this Nugget does not stock the flavour I want. However, it is bigger than the Nugget in South Davis, so it has that going for it.

Staff was very friendly and helpful to a guy in a wheelchair. The sandwich I had was fantastic. Outside of basic stuff like milk and bread, a lot of their items were a tad expensive, but no worse than Trader Joes and the like.

I have enjoyed coming here since junior high school. I love the Mediterranean architecture, friendly and efficient staff, and wide range of food options. Their products can be expensive, but they are delicious! I recommend getting an artisan sandwich from the deli. :)

Large, well-lit, attractive supermarket with lots of stock and variety and a large parking lot. regularly has good sales on baking ingredients I use lots of. I go there for most groceries, except specialty flours in bulk.

I went to the fish section and the person managing that department was EXTREMELY RUDE and RACIST. After I asked him that question, he kept thinking I said catfish instead of codfish. I tried to explained to him and he just ignored me and just moved on to the next customer. HOW is this a local store? HOW do they treat customers that had been loyal to them for years? Is it because I am asian that he feels it is okay to treat me in such a rude and unprofessional way??? I am never going back to this store again.

Amazing selection and quality, especially in produce, meat, and prepared food. Doesn’t have as many generic brand choices in staple groceries which does make it more expensive, but the prices for brand name products are reasonable. This is a California store and I do love it I wish we had some here in Nevada

The only downside I can think of for Nugget is that it can be more expensive than your garden variety grocery store. People are always helpful here- some even take care to learn your name and greet you with kindness when they see you. They have a fantastic selection of local goods, organic food stuffs, and speciality items to spice up your cooking life.

This Nugget is pretty awesome. Its the better one of the two that are in Davis. It has a juice/coffee bar and the full on salad bar/ hot foods area. They have a great selection of cheeses and wine. Theres always helpful people to give you samples or to give you advice when youre overwhelmed by the selection.

I no longer live in the area, but Nugget Market is one of the things I miss most and I take every opportunity to visit. This is truly one of the best managed grocery stores Ive shopped in. I cant say whether I love their deli (and their amazing sandwiches), bakery, cheese case, meat department, or beer selection most. I have never had a bad experience here.
