This store consistently has the best customer service! Ive shopped here over 30 years and they are tops in providing assistance in any department. Forget those big hardware stores, youll always get friendly, informative service.

Bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. They have almost anything you may need here and have the variety of a much larger store.

Needed propane for Labor Day cookout, had a full bottle but decided to fill backup. This was holiday 15 minutes before closing. Walked in 5 steps and placed order at counter. Walked back to the gate and the kid was there. Right away noticed my bottle was over 10 years old and couldnt fill, radioed the front register that I decided to buy new bottle with 50% discount for 1st fill. Back at front counter had everything ready, paid, kid had my fresh bottle loaded in truck already. All in about 10 minutes. Last time I needed a new bottle, I went to a specialized propane dealer for a so-called discount which turned out to be nowhere near the savings or convenience

Called ahead to ask question about getting some keys made. Person on phone was very helpful. Once I got there service was very fast. Staff friendly and willing to assist with whatever needed.

This is a great hardware store in the style of the corner hardware stores of the 1950s when America was in its glory. Its not a Lowes, but sometimes you just want to be able to get in and out without walking around the store for an hour and a half. Good luck with that sort of thing at a Home Despot.Ace is the best way to get your hands on those basic day-to-day hardware needs like screws, screwdrivers, and manual labor tools such as shovels, hammers, saws, and axes.I have used this particular Ace a lot for a few years because it is relatively close to my house and on a bus line, its a good example of its type and the staff is very good at their jobs. It has more than just hardware, too, you can get a few local products such as Jams and Candy near the checkout, though I do not typically come into the store just for the jam. (The local peach season is an exception.)All in all, this is a remnant of better times in America, and one of the places that I would like to see become a prominent type of establishment again in the future.

Convenient. Employees seem to take returns personally. Only if i didnt buy a damaged product, I wouldnt have to return it. I will just go to a big store next time.

Ive been going to this hardware store since I went with my father, ......many, many times over many years. The staff is aways knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Im not a particularly strong do-it-your-selfer, and the staffs help and expert guidance is always appreciated.

Excellent source for canning supplies - wider range of choices, and seasonal availability when the supermarkets and big-box stores run out. Was thrilled to find a presto canner and that extra parts are available here.

I went there for spray paint and the selection was more than I imagined. The gentleman that helped me was very knowledgable, courteous, and patient. I would highly recommend this store to anyone, especially if you need a little education on the products needed.

Looked all over the place for vinca (which BTW my husband calls impatients!) Finally found some very healthy ones at our local ACE on Wilmington. Would have loved them more if their checkout made more sense. Had to pick out flowers, get a handwritten tag, stand in a very long line inside the store, and then back outside to pick up flowers. It was the weekend. Let your employees ring purchases up outside!

I ordered some Owens Corning insulation, and they sent me Knauf instead. They didnt inform me that the product manufacturer had changed, which would have been nice. Apparently there isnt much difference between fiberglass insulation, and they make Knauf over in Shelbyville, IN. Although I was aggravated at this bait and switch maneuver, my dealings with the manager there at Ace on Wilmington Ave were very positive. His name is Mark, and he was responsive, apologetic, and willing to work with me on a solution. I have to give this gentleman credit, his corporate leadership put him in a tough spot, and he managed to reach a resolution with which I was comfortable. Cheers to you Mark!

Its an old-time hardware store with everything you need. The employees are helpful and like old friends, if you stop in often enough. I love this place. Secret: sometimes I stop in when Im driving by, and find exactly what I didnt need but it was there and I like to support them.

Swift and friendly for the most part however wasnt to professional. The poor cashier Makayla was being bossed around by the other cashier while she was trying to assist other customers in the long line waiting to check out. Then the manager walked up to her with an aggressive tone to say we have to have a talk later! The young lady was flustered and confused, trying to figure out what she did wrong. Just wasnt a good look.

Its convenient, they dont carry everything because its a small store, but they usually have most things I need, and the people are helpful.

Nate is always extremely helpful when we come into Ace. We bought a power washer from Lowe’s that needed an extra hookup part to attach to the hose. Even though he couldn’t find the right part, he spent so much time with us trying to find the right fit. We left with a new power washer and will be returning to Ace instead of Lowe’s for all of our future purchases. Customer service is always incredible here.

Ive shopped here for years, even though they are overpriced because they are close to my home. I have spent a LOT of money there over the years. I went to buy some paint today and took a gallon of oil based primer that needed a good stirring. They refused to put it on their shaking machine, saying the lid could fall off. It was a full gallon that had only been opened once, and the lid was obviously secure. (There was no gunk around the edge, keeping it partially opened.) On top of that, Im sure they recognized me as a repeat customer. Screw them for not doing me a tiny favor, I wont be back.

This store is a godsend. All the big box stores are so far away and it takes so much time walking down aisles of merchandise you dont in order to get what you want. I prefer Handyman Ace any day over the competition.

Its a great place to go if you need some help. The people there are super helpful and actually seek you out. Do your research on prices before you go though. There are some items you can find sometimes at 50% cheaper somewhere else. Overall it is the first place I think of going simply because its close enough to walk to. Great service and I dont have to drive an hour to get to the big box stores, sounds like a good deal to me.

The store is stocked well but not very neat and organized. I understand theft is an issue but the employees were very overbearing and I felt like I was suspected of theft the entire time. They weren’t even subtle about it or polite. While I understand shrink mitigation is important, customer service is equally important and not aggressive hospitality customer service to prevent theft but actually wanting to help. The checkout clerk was probably one of the rudest individuals I’ve ever encountered. I was trying to be polite and put my basket back after she removed everything and was scolded like a child for doing so. Apparently they cleanse each basket after use but they didn’t have any cleaning materials I could see to do so available for them to do so nor did they have any kind of sign. I believe honestly this was another form of theft mitigation. By the time I left I felt like I was a shoplifter and have never stolen an item in my life especially considering I was wearing my polo with the name and number for the company I own which was bright yellow.
