The staff at this U-Haul are SO NICE!! I came in for a hitch installation and to pick up a cargo carrier. The guys doing the installation noticed the hitch they were installing wouldnt fit the cargo carrier I bought, and rather than let me drive away with my purchases to discover later, he came back and told me what I would need to make it work. A couple questions later, I was able to exchange the hitch parts I didnt need for the adapter I DID need and ended up saving a little money, too! I am extremely grateful and would definitely recommend this location. Thank you!!

Absolutely terrible. The counter person, Nosferatu (not being snarky, that’s their name), speaks as fast as he possibly can to purposefully confuse people on their agreements and is actively rude. I couldn’t get into my storage unit for four days bc they didn’t have a working code to give me. They never answer their phones. I was overcharged on my truck rental and when I went in to get this all resolved the manager, Evan, offered to let me pay in cash for what I was overcharged so it wouldn’t be on my card. COMPLETELY UNHELPFUL. A one day $20 truck rental turned into a $55 charge and a week long excursion. I’ve been using uhaul for atleast 6 years and this is by far the worst experience I’ve had at uhaul as well as one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I am vehemently against leaving bad reviews on places but this was so terrible I feel like I have to.
Not happy..... they had a hard time setting up my account and was quick to call and say I owned them money knowing that they have taken twice the amount that they should have taken out. it was 67.24 for the truck they charged me twice then charged me another $50 for mileage. I told them it charged me twice said they will fix it but have not yet. I would rather put everything in a clown car and move it that way then to deal with this company again
CHARGED TWICE FOR 2 WARDROBE BOXES. OVER $55. CALLED TWICE . VOICE MAIL EVENTUALLY PICKED UP BY 800 OPERATOR. NO HELP.

Had a couple hitch receivers installed and everything went well. Prompt and courteous service.Wow what a difference time makes. We had such a great experience with the hitch, we tried a renting a box truck. Yeah not a great experience at all. We had to wait for 10 minutes to even speak to someone. Nobody was at the service desk, no apology when they finally showed up. They were not courteous during the transaction. Upon returning the truck, we waited 5 minutes before anyone showed up. It was just before closing and he wanted to send us on our way instead of doing the paperwork and being done. We opted to wait, then he decided to round up the mileage on what was on the invoice so he could get us on our way. So we wont go back for a rental and we would hesitate about getting another hitch from them.
In November my husband rented a Uhaul. And got the help from moving helpers through their website. Only one helper showed up and dropped a washing machine on my husband and he fell down a flight of stairs. We returned the truck unable to move since he was injured and took him to the hospital where he had to get staples in his head. Uhaul and moving company refuse to refund us for the truck and the moving help company listed on their website refuse to refund us. I’m so thankful my husband is okay but We are STILL out of money. So I guess use this company and the help they recommend on their website if you’re alright with possibly dying and never getting your money back if problems come up. 0/10 wont use again.

AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS!!! I wouldn’t even give them one star, but that is the lowest I can go.I was renting a trailer and took my vehicle in to the U-Haul Facility at 4565 Linden Ave. in Dayton, OH to have a trailer hitch and lighting hookup installed. They completed the job and a few days later when I went to pick up the trailer, the lighting did not work. They repaired the lighting and everything worked fine. Fast forward 2 years to when my driver side taillights stopped working consistently and would intermittently go out which is not only dangerous because as the driver, there is no way of knowing if they are working properly or not, but also illegal. I assumed that it was something to do with the vehicle itself and took it in to the dealership. They diagnosed the situation and found that the root of the problem was an improperly installed trailer lighting connection. Rather than using the proper wiring harness, that I paid them for mind you, they spliced in behind the taillight using butt connectors and electrical tape. There was significant corrosion around the connections that was causing a short, hints the intermittent lighting failure. To repair the damage that was done, it was necessary for the dealership to re-wire the taillight assembly and it cost me $290.54. Upon contacting U-Haul corporate to report the issue and request compensation for their negligence, they had the store manager Evan reach out to me. Not only was Evan extremely rude, but he denied that they had done anything wrong and refused to assist me. I have since been in contact with corporate again and am awaiting a call from both their Director of Marketing and the President of U-Haul. Hopefully they are more helpful than Evan.Bottom line, whatever you do, don’t trust that location to install anything for you and don’t expect to receive adequate customer service as it is not in their wheelhouse.
I had a quick and friendly experience here. No mix ups or errors and the staff was knowledgeable and even went above and beyond to make sure my car dolly was safe by changing out parts. 10 out of 10. Ask for Sarah!
We had pre-arranged - weeks in advance - to have a truck available but the day before the move they told us we would be getting a much bigger size truck than what we requested. So the morning of the move we changed to a smaller truck then what we originally requested. But then the decent pricing we had agreed to went away totally and we got charged a lot more money. So it cost us $225 to rent a truck for a few hours. So much for a $29.95 rental agreement! They pretty much stole an extra $100 from us. They are not willing to refund us any money. They wont even call us back to discuss the issue. Needless to say they wont be getting any more business from me. How can this company stay in business when they steal from people like this!?
Friend stored in their climate controlled units and found her furniture covered in mold. When speaking to the associate she was treated poorly and given no help. Theyre rude and overpriced, might as well store your stuff outside because itll get ruined just the same. Stay away from here for your storage needs.

Renting a truck was simple.Returning a truck took about 10 minutes to wait. They were under staffed, yet still the returning process was painless. Just need to hire more hands.

Everything was fine with the u-haul, initially. HOWEVER, a family member of mine left Oakley sunglasses in the vehicle since we were carrying heavy things etc. We remembered them about 10 minutes afterwards and went right back. They checked the glove box for us and where the sunglasses had been placed and there was now a pamphlet that hadnt been present before. We asked them again and the young guy looked pretty embarrassed and unconcerned. Dont forget anything- they will steal it without a doubt.The linden Avenue Dayton, Ohio U-haul.
The technician working on my hitch was great. The general manager screwed up the wiring on my car & I had wires dragging on the road from the engine. I called as I had no brake lights & both signal light directions showed I was turning tight. She told me to come in that Thurs at 4. She decided to leave & the tech was alone & unable to work on my car to fix it. Scheduled to go back today, Friday & I explained my concerns that I was having to wait longer as the tech was having to go to the lobby to help other customers. Her response was we have other customers to help. Apparently I am not a customer who has already paid for the service & I can just wait longer. It is quite disturbing that when the manager acres up the wiring & I have photos that they would think it acceptable to charge you to fix their screw up. I would not suggest anyone deal with Jacqlyn.
Rented a truck to move some furniture. Knowledgeable, nice staff. Prices arent terrible, and the equipment was in decent repair, as far as the things go.
Budget failed to have a truck I reserved. I went into U-Haul, and they were able to help me right away. U-Haul got me a better truck and beat Budgets discounted price I was supposed to get.
I reserved and rented a 26 box truck. It was the worst truck they had on the lot and they knew I had to drive 90 miles. The truck would barely pull its self let alone loaded. The engine was missing really bad. The worst thig was they had two new trucks sitting out front on display. Do not go to this uhaul you might not make it to your destination without braking down.
I wish I could give zero stars. I waited in the lobby for at least 15 minutes before anyone showed up to help me. I needed a 2 wheel dolly to tow a small car and was told my 2000lb trailer ball was to small but they would sell me one that would work. I told them no thanks for the upsale and I went to a different uhaul and I had no problems getting and using the 2 wheel dolly. I could understand my 2000lb ball being to small if I was towing a large car or a truck but I wasnt. They just wanted to make extra$ but they lost out on a rental. I will never go there again.
I needed a dolly hitch to take my car from Ohio to Washington State. The guy that took care of me was rude and incompetent. We got to Illinois to discover one of the straps had torn off the wheel of my car. The idiot attached the dolly wrong. We had to wait an hour for road side assistance and another hour while we unloaded the car, detached the dolly, and put it all back on correctly. This not only derailed our entire trip by causing us to spend an extra 90 dollars at a hotel in the middle of nowhere, but it could have also cost us the car had we not seen the strap tear. Can you imagine if it had come off and crashed into someone behind us on the road? I wish I had gotten the name of the person who helped us because he should be fired for his negligence!

The workers were very helpful and nice. I was originally going to rent the uhaul from Oct. 30- Nov. 4th. I didnt think that I would need it that long so when talking with the store rep. I decided to rent it from 30th-2nd as she stated if I needed it longer I could always call to extend a day. On the 2nd my boyfriend called on my behalf as I was driving and requested another day the woman who answered was fine and began taking him through the steps of adding an extra day when all the sudden the manager Evan Good got on the phone and began talking to my boyfriend in a very disrespectful manner. My boyfriend was asking if there was another truck or something we could work out. He made it seem as if he was trying to steal the truck from another renter. He explained that we just wanted to know what options we had but the manager was not listening to him at all. My boyfriend repeatedly asked him to stop raising his voice to him and talk with him like a customer. Which the manager did not. At this point he was just yelling and telling him to return it right now and our time wasnt even over yet. At the point my boyfriend became angry and began to yell back at him. Then the supervisor hung up. We called back and spoke with another girl who assisted us and was very pleasant and got our request handled. All and all the managers customer service skills were horrible and he should not be a manager if he does not have good people skills. Someone from the upper management needs to retrain or fire him immediately.
Bottom line: After three failed appointments, I still have no hitch, and this U-Haul wasted my time, and I was extremely displeased with my experience.The fiasco: I scheduled an appointment on their website, which said someone would call me soon to figure out the details, etc. The day of my appointment, I hadnt heard from them, so I called to verify everything was still on. I called 4 times, and kept getting the run around, and nobody had an answer for me and kept telling me the manager would call me back. They never called. On the 4th call, I asked the lady who answered if they would really call me back, and I got so much attitude - very unprofessional. Finally I had to leave work early to get to this appointment. About 10 min before my appointment, while Im on my way there, I finally get a call saying they dont have the right part and had to cancel. I was irritated, but rescheduled for the following week. Fast forward to the next week. About 30 min before my now 2nd appointment (again, while I was en route), they called and told me they didt have the right part again. So we now rescheduled for yet a 3rd time. That 3rd appointment I went there, dropped off my car and went out for dinner during the appointment, since it would take 3 hours (!!). I got back, and they said it still wasnt done, but he was working on it. I waited another hour and a half, and the guy kept assuring me, its almost done. Finally, they called me back, and told me they couldnt get it to work. So now, I have wasted my time on three separate occasions, and STILL have no hitch. They offered to reschedule, and I said absolutely not. At least they refunded my money. But if you ask me, that doesnt cut it. This U-Haul is extremely poorly run, and I would NEVER recommend it to anyone.
Can I give them zero stars....My original reservation from u-haul was at 9am. I was contacted that my reservation is being changed to noon with no reconciliation. I arrived at noon to find that they DID NOT have my truck available. The desk worker contacted another agency and found me another truck 30 minutes away. He didnt even ask if I wanted it, he simply just signed me up and told me to drive myself to the new location.While I waited for my ride to pick me up to take me to the new location I attempted to ask the previous desk worker two questions. Both times he ignored me. No response and no recognition. On the 2nd question he got up and moved to another computer!!!At this point I was infuriated so I decide to go wait outside since the desk worker wasnt going to respond to me in any way. While waiting I called UHaul Customer Service and was told I would get my guaranteed fifty and would send a $75 certificate for my rental and poor customer service.Upon arrival at the new location I come to find the old location did not post my Guaranteed Fifty and my $75 certificate is invalid. So for the worst customer service ever I get absolutely nothing.Hands down my worst experience with any company ever!!!
First time renting here, it was ok. I always pull in daylight. Never night. Same guy usually waits on me (high pitched voice. Not sure of his name). Hooks me up. I explain we have no light kit yet (it was to be installed on the 14th of September), but the trailer is only 4ft wide and tail lights can be seen and even he said its usually not a problem if you can see tail lights the very first time he hooked me up. Ok great right? I go back couple days later, owner Evan hooks me up, doesnt even bat an eye or mention the light kit (same trailer, tail lights from my vehicle can be seen). Go back again couple days later, first guy hooks me up again. Another round with my bf driving this time, Evan hooks him up and says as long as tail lights can be seen I dont see an issue. Go back, first guy waits on me again. While hes putting me in the system I specifically say I need the small trailer because the light kit isnt installed yet (again appt there on the 14th of September to install it) and I need my tail lights seen (btw Im only going half mile down the road). He says nothing. Keeps going. I pay. He hooks me up. Says for the 4th time do you know you have no light kit. I say for the 4th time (and while i was inside reserving) yes because my appt isnt until the 14th. We explained even Evan has hooked us up TWICE and even said as long as tail lights can be seen it shouldnt be an issue (first guy even said it first time he ever hooked me up). What upset me this time is he ROLLED HIS EYES AT US AND SAID WE WERE LYING THAT EVAN SAID THAT!!! IT WAS JUST A WEEK BEFORE THAT IT WAS SAID TO US. I mean really??? Calling us liars?? Like i said previously, same guy hooked me up THREE TIMES in less than 3 weeks and Evan twice. Its one thing to disagree and say he isnt comfortable with it (after doing it 3 times before in a manner of 3 weeks) but to roll your eyes at a customer and call us liars is just $h!t service. I was preparing for a massive move and was needing their services (including light kits on 2 cars and a hitch on one plus 6 trucks total and 3 storage units). Needless to say I would rather drive the extra 30 miles to west chester and pay extra mileage and store my things at another location than to deal with having someone roll their eyes at me and call me a liar. Never again will i go to this location.
My boyfriend and I had to travel to Wisconsin with his racecar on a trailer. Half way there we realized they gave us a trailer without breaks. When we got back home and told them they didnt offer us any discount for the mishap. Besides that the employees were friendly.

I had a hitch installed last year. Within a week all of my exterior lights on my car were blown. I had to go to my actual car dealership and get uhauls screwed up hitch install fixed. I will never go here again for ANYTHING.
