They have a lot of books on various topics but short on best sellers. On the downside, there is no air conditioning and its a little bit dark. Its also a bit pricey for used books.

He is here with good chi quiet and merry in the Tao of his bookstore.

It looks like a cool place to go, we got there at 520 expecting to have at least a few minutes to look around with them closing at 6, but when we got there they told us they were closing then. It was definitely disappointing. Luckily we just moved here and can try again another day, but we were looking for specific books and ended up ordering online.

This is one of my all time favorite used book stores. I come every time we are down in Florida.

Absolutely awesome bookstore! Certainly not a place to get the latest and greatest... which is not a bad thing at all! This place is just great for “real” book lovers! And if you love the smell of old books.... this is your place too!

They were closed at the time but Ive been there before. I bought Poetry books they have free books outside. Worth looking into

Any negative reviews about this place are silly. It is what it is, a quirky book store. It’s a very organized mess and it’s wonderful!! This and the record store down the road are wonderful stops if you’re looking for fun stops in Daytona that aren’t touristy garbage.

Ive been quite a few times after moving to Daytona 6 or 7 years ago. I may not always find what Im looking for, but the place itself is an experience of its own. So, I continue to go and wander in awe at all the dusty tomes lining the walls. Wandering as if on a treasure hunt.

Was with book people(not me) I am sure there are some hidden gems there just to much there to find them.

Would absolutely recommend to any bibliophile—the interior was stacked with books everywhere and smelled like an old library, and if I’d had more time I would have stayed and pored through every stack I could get my hands on. The owner was super friendly and even let me have one of the dollar books I wanted to purchase from the cart outside for free since it had some water stains on it. Next time I’m in town I will definitely be back.

Always a great visit. Friendly owner and many thousands of books to choose from all at very fair prices. You can Park close by on Beach Street if you are lucky. Centrally located with dining and other shopping close by. A book lovers paradise.

This is one of my favorite places in Daytona. The owner is a great guy. He’s let me come in and trade books for books and has always been willing to give me a discount if I buy a lot or a book is a little more on the roughly used side.Abraxas is a Daytona institution.

A lot of really cool books

This is what a book shop should look like!!! Floor to ceiling books, but still nicely organized. Awesome pricing and amazing aesthetic.

This was a real hole in the wall with zillions of books. It was a neat place to visit, the guy who sits behind the counter looks like hes read all of them. It was kind of a mess, there were so many books everywhere that there was no place to put anything down. I had to hand the books I was buying over a large stack of books to the guy so he could ring them up and put them in the bag. There are shelves in the back of the building that are leaning precariously, some of them have sticks that are keeping them from falling over. Some of the floor is thin plywood on a slightly raised platform that feels squishy when you walk on it so I kind of felt like it might have been a little hazardous in there, but I love books and he had a lot of stuff I like so I took a chance! Found some real gems and very pleased.

Used book store with personality! You will find books new and old on shelves, tables, and the floor throughout this water front shop. Regional books are near the entrance and easy to find. Those looking for intellectual works need only step a bit further inside. If you love books, dont miss this shop.

This is one of those really special used book stores where you walk in and youre really not sure what youre getting yourself into. Then all of a sudden its 3 hours later and youre not sure what happened. The selection here is wonderful. Spend some time poking around, you can find some really excellent things. The staff is also great. They will help you find anything youre looking for and they generally know exactly whats in the store just off hand. Stop in here, you wont regret it.

Oh Lord. I love everything about this place. The owner is a great guy, the layout of the shop is different and aesthetically pleasing. How can one not love Sterling, the shop cat who wanders around with you. The shop has that amazing book smell. Theres a great variety of books at great prices. Location is perfect. Its 5 minutes away from my condo in Daytona Beach. I couldnt ask for more. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL!

A magical place. Books stacked to the ceiling....books you didnt even know existed. Every kind of book from car repair to victorian poetry to scientific journals to scifi to art. The atmosphere is lovely and the prices are incredibly reasonable. I take my friends here all the time. Always a delight...always!

I always find the most frustrating books here. I usually find this out after Ive bought and read the entirety of them. I constantly think about this one book I read from there, which I wont name now to prevent from causing anyone else pain, and it was a huge waste of my time, but really made me think. I appreciated that. Also, just to throw this out there, I believe that the man who works there is immortal.

He has so many books and is very helpful if you need to find anything. Plus hes local.

Best bookstore in Florida

Wonderful neighborhood book store. Full of unique books.

Not being from Daytona Beach I was surprised to find such a wonderful little store in what I imagined to be a tourist trap. After talking to the owner Jim, I was informed that he had been in business in that location for nearly 30 years, predating all the Miami Vice decor in the neighborhood. The shop is small and space is tight, or at least it feels this way, because of the seemingly massive collection. Much of the collection is non-fiction/historical (right up my alley). I was highly impressed by the selection and the reasonable prices. The owner is helpful and friendly.If you want a used book in Daytona, go here.

This place is not kitchy. The diversity of categories in this place is refreshing and I always find a little treasure when im here. There may be books on the floor but the organization by topic is pretty spot on. Anthropology, chinese culture and history, chinese language, astrology, drama and literature are my favorite topics and i always find something here. The prices are fair and always worth it. Great place!
