This was my first time visiting Folk Art. I went on a Sunday around 11AM, the wait was 30/45 mins for a table for one.My overall experience was cool and I’ll return maybe at a later time because as I was leaving the crowd had slowed down. The sweet potato pancakes were really good I didn’t need syrup, the corn grits were a bit salty but they were good, the chicken was fried perfectly, but was lacking seasoning and I’m glad I had them put the peach compote on the side because I wasn’t a fan.The host was awesome but the waiter wasn’t the best and could use a little training. He humbled himself when he brought me the check.
Came in. Sat down right away. Nicole got the drink order right away. I ordered their version of chicken and waffles but it has a twist. It comes with a peach compote which adds a bit of sweetness and the waffles batter is made with sweet potato!!! The flavors are rocking and rolling with every bite. And no, its not just a seasonal twist. Thats just how they make the waffles. I added hashbrowns on the side. Delicious would be an understatement. Definitely coming back to try more!
Our first time eating there. At first I started to feel some type of way bc we had been sitting & no one spoke or addressed our table. But then our waitress(Tiffany, I think black girl)came & apologized for the wait. She was very friendly & her customer service was on point. Now the food was excellent from the shrimp & grits(Southern Comfort), impossible burger, chicken & sweet potato pancakes(Foul Play, Complete Breakfast. This is now one of my restaurants to come to.
The portion was plentiful. The service was just OK. The girl that waited on me was being trained, unfortunately but they both were super friendly. The hashbrowns were greasy and the waffle was like no other waffle I’ve ever had before, in a bad way. I really expected more from this place. The atmosphere and outside eating was great. I might give it another try but I doubt it.
We went here on a Sunday and they were packed. We originally arrived around 2:20 and we were very politely told they were slammed and asked to come back around 3:30. We got back around that time and we were immediately seated. Tiffany was our waitress and she was absolutely phenomenal. We got the Burrito, the Folk Southern Fried, and Sweet potato waffle. The waffle came later and I wish we’d gotten a picture, because it was the only thing subpar. The chicken was absolutely phenomenal-the gravy and egg were perfect. The burrito was so fresh and filling as well. The waffle we got was literally the consistency of a crepe, and it was $7. We shared that feedback with the manager about this. All in all, the people were so nice which is why we waited around just to come back. The food was great as well. Would definitely recommend, and be back in the future.
We went here this morning with my son, daughter, and wife for brunch. I must say it was absolutely DELICIOUS!! Corn beef hash made with REAL corn beef was super excellent. Only part I didnt really enjoy were eggs on top because the were not over light but more like over medium well. My son had the turkey melt w Mac and cheese was great. My daughter had the foul play which is basically chicken and waffle with whiskey peach compote she loved it. Wife had the folks southern fried which is biscuits and gravy with eggs.. she enjoyed it without the eggs. Our server Chaitanya was really nice and inviting. Her services were excellent! Will definitely be back to this place.
Short rib and grits special is AMAZING. Southern comfort is a close second. Randy and his team do a fantastic job of making your dining experience exceptional.
Went here at noon for lunch. Only a 30 minute wait, which wasnt too bad considering it being a Sunday! The food was good, quick and fast service. I order the steak & eggs for $20, which came with eggs, hashbrowns and my choice of toast or biscuit. Oh yes!! If you park in the parking garage behind the building, dont forget to ask your waiter or waiteress to validate the parking ticket for you!! 😊
Great food, great meet spot with friends, service hosts very friendly. However, food wait time was extremely long. Folks who arrived after us got food and in a time of high awareness to stigmas it felt as though we were being slighted. But, the hostes assured us that wasnt the case that it was the kitchen and, due to her sincere empathy and shown compassion we stayed. Otherwise, we were willing to pay for what we already consumed and leave. Overall, for a first time it was good. Saved by the hostess and the food.
Food was basic overall but the Fried Green Tomatoes were good. Veggie sausage wasnt cooked enough. Not sure how you mess up box Morning Star!? The ONE WAFFLE that I ordered was paper thin. If its going to be one waffle, should probably be a thick one. It also tasted like it came from a Eggo Box (Microwaved not cooked). My husband liked the pancakes. The food took too long to come out. People that came in after us were being served their food first. Cocktails (if you wanna call it that) hardly had alcohol in it. This restaurant is JUST OK. I wouldnt necessarily recommend it to anyone.
Visited Folk Art today for the first time as a solo diner. Great experience. I walked right in and there were a couple seats available at the bar (on a Sunday around 12:30.) I got the chicken and waffles which I was on the fence about getting but Im so glad I got it because it was delicious and the perfect portion size for one person. Just know that if youre expecting a portion big enough for leftovers. I definitely plan to come back either by myself or with a group. Its a cute place and the staff is nice.
This wound up being an impromptu trip looking for brunch and drinks. Boy did we hit the jackpot! Drinks were amazing, bloody Mary was nice and spicy and the Mimosa was quite refreshing. The food seems to be expensive until you get the portion and taste everything. The Patty Mill will change your idea of how a patty melt should taste, the pigs in a blanket were a tasty treat. Chicken and waffles was fantastic as well. Our server Tanny was fun and very informative. We definitely recommend and will definitely be back.
Slightly disappointed. But I will return. I patronize most Folk Art locations. The family has tasted most menu items. Prices are comparable to other restaurants. This day, 4 out of 5 was dissatisfied with appearance and flavor. I got my salad to go and requested no chicken no bacon. There was bacon in the salad. I ordered a biscuit to eat. It was burnt, and the strawberry jelly was runny. The southern comfort was so spicy that it should be labeled as such on the menu. My mother and Granddaughter took it to go.
The atmosphere was great. The food was very delicious. Our server Lori was excellent. Will definitely come here again and recommend to friends and family.
Saturday brunch is awesome! Great sandwiches, wine, coffee, breakfast all day. .. big selection. Very Covid safe. We dined on the patio out front. Excellent service.
The food was tasty except for the biscuits. Seemed like they mixed cornmeal with floor and voila! Biscuits probably baked without butter. Yuck! A bit on the pricey side of things, but remember this is located in downtown Decatur. Watch out for the parking! They’ll easily slap a yellow boot 👢 on your lovely tires. Oh yeah! Make sure to have space on your old phones since you’ll more than likely have to download the parking app if you’re considering settling for the square. You can also park next door too. The seating was a bit odd with circle tables with little space. They also have cozy corners that should be extended for larger groups and families.
This location was walking distance from my hotel, and thought it would be a nice local spot for brunch. The food and drinks were outstanding. I had the peanut butter french toast, I was literally in the clouds. I have never had french toast so good! The bread was thick and did not become wet. I wish I could remember our servers name, he was phenomenal!!! Go, you wont be upset you did.
Cute atmosphere. I had the chicken wrap and it was just fine. The server was friendly. Although the server indicated that our entree came with a side, we ended up paying $2 on top of the entree charges for a side I didn’t really need/want to begin with.
Came here after another breakfast place had problems seating us and Im so glad we did. What a great place. Had an omelet which was great. Cool vibes and our waitress was very nice. You can also have alcohol for breakfast if thats your thing. (My wife likes it) lol. Will be back. I did get a parking ticket because I thought the spots across the street were free parking. They are not. I didnt see any meters so I guess there is probably an app or something you need to pay to park downtown decatur.
Delicious Fried Green Tomatoes! Very nice breakfast restaurant in Downtown Decatur. Ill definitely be coming back. Just improve on making orders exactly as the customer request.
Food was delicious. We had the all breakfast and added pancake (I wish it was on a side since we were sharing that, and I wish the ketchup wasn’t in the plate). The fried chicken sandwich was delicious, a bit salty. The only comment I have is the person who served the food should’ve warned me the plate is hot or at least when he saw me moving it he could’ve said something.Overall, good experience. I’d come again and try everything!
Second time here. Food is great - seasoned well, nice portions, versatile options for most diets and priced well. The staff is also friendly and everything is clean. Love this spot...
Very nice spot indoor and outdoor dining. Service was excellent and food was great I will visit again and nice atmosphere.
The food and drinks were amazing. I personally loved their take on shrimp and grits, southern comfort. Food was perfectly seasoned and they had a great drink menu.
Just left. The worst dining experience I’ve had in my life. We knew it would be busy to get lunch during prime Sunday brunch hours but it took almost 2 hours to get our food. Several tables were seated and ordered after us and got their food before us. And to make it worse our server just ghosted us. Literally never came back to our table after taking our order. Sat there waving our arms over our head to get her attention and nothing. Waited on all the tables around us and never looked at us, would immediately run away. Had to yell down other servers and employees to get any service. Like I said, we understood it would be busy and we’re fairly patient. What we cannot put up with is poor service.
Super and delightful dinner! Many great options to select from and the atmosphere was uncrowded and true to its name - filled with great folk and splashed with folk art! All the staff were excellent and helpful in every way. I happen to select a side salad with their house-made rosemary vinaigrette and it was delish! Sweet tea was tasty and sweet too — just be prepared to pay more for a sweet tea than a coke! Thought that was a little odd. I’ll be back to check out breakfast soon!
Very good. Healthy portions. Delicious! You wont be disappointed
The grits were so good! My daughter got a sweet potato waffle and its was so good!
All the food we had was really good with large portions. The staff were friendly and service was prompt. You can put your name in and then manage everything via text while you wait. Highly recommend.
It took them 45 mins to get my to go order ready. The website saud 15 mins. The food was over priced. The hashbrowns werent fully cooked.
The only one I’ve been to and the only one I will ever go to. This is my favorite brunch place in Atlanta. The best chicken and waffles I’ve ever had. The vibe is great, the location is perfect, I’ve never had to wait over 20 min for a table even on a Sunday!!!
First time I was hooked, the food is fresh served hot and absolutely DELICIOUS EVERY TIME!!! The staff is friendly the ambiance is cool retro urban come all atmosphere. Not too many restaurant can pump out such great quality food and service like folk art! THEY NAILED IT!!!! SOUNDING OFF My DJ KHALID 📯!!!!
Really great food! Chefs Eduardo and Lupe knocked it out of the park! Definitely will be returning!
Nicole our server was amazingly honest and respectful! The chicken biscuits gravy thing was out of this world good!
Service was awesome and food was super hot, but the gravy tasted like someone had doubled the salt and the chicken sausage tasted off, but overall the rest was awesome and the server was great!
A perfect place for breakfast and brunch. The decourse all you can want they have indoor and outdoor seating an are pretty spacious in the time of Covid19.The wait staff is friendly in very hard working they always are on the move. Though this doesnt seem to hinder service. From the appetizer to the main course the food was delicious and flavorful, we didnt have to wait long after ordering to receive our food so that was a plus as well.Below are my fried green tomatoes...I also have the foul play which is pretty good but I didnt get a picture just the video.Enjoy!
Just been there pathetic service... Paid for the food which never made it to my table..... Food is good but they are amazingly poor on service... Hope they improve that
Great southern farm to table food all around! The staff were friendly, responsive, and helpful. We will be back for sure.
The food was delicious. Period. Love it. I had the Southern Comfort, which is shrimp and grits with and egg and toast. I also tried the chicken biscuit with gravy. Also amazing. The service is fine. We didnt have to wait for a table. Prices were a bit high, but par for the area.
Tanny is the best! We had a great first visit. Food and drinks were awesome and the theme/aesthetic is top notch!
My partner and I loved eating here. The food is phenomenal and so is the atmosphere. An easy recommendation for the birdman!
The restaurant is cute and in a great location. The coffee is undrinkable. The food we had (tomato basil pasta, French toast, and spicy tortellini) was mediocre; the two flavors their food has is overly sweet or cheesy. Nothing else. Would not recommend.
The wait, to get in was long, to get in, but there was Six People, in Our Party. Smaller, Parties, wait wasnt as long. The Food is delicious, and the Atmosphere was great. I will say, its, worth the wait, Everyone, waited patiently, but ready to get in. It was also Fathers Day, so, that may be the reason, for the wait
Nice place to get a bite to eat and hang out after your meal.
The food was delicious. I had fried green tomatoes, apple bacon, grit fritters and the buffalo chicken salad
The absolute best waffle I have ever had.
This is one of the only places my daughter will actually eat her food!
From the first moment you step in this place team give you a great feeling. Very friendly waiters, it is a nice restaurant to go out with friends or with your date. heavenly meals, qualified chef, comfortable price and nice service. Highly recommended.
Sunday March 21, 2021 (Around 4p.m.)Horrible customer service experience!!!! My friend was charged extra for something that clearly had a lesser price on the Folk Art menu. I was charged a higher price for my meal than what their online menu stated. Since I have an Android, my phone never downloaded the menu from the app on their tables. It wouldnt have been that big of a deal, EXCEPT.... The female manager who was sent out to (supposedly) fix the situation was extremely rude! She was combative and vehement about the fact that she was not going to take the charges off since the online menu was wrong!!!! She proceeded to get loud and wave her hand all in my face, which I had to ask her to stop doing, and eventually just told her I got it, and please leave my table. The weird thing is how she just kept saying, Im sorry, while simultaneously saying I am absolutely not going to take this charge off! Weird!!!!! Anyways, NEVER AGAIN.
Aaaahhhhmazing! I will definitely be backAnd will have their hash bowl and some more mimosas 😍
So, I’ve been to both locations and I must say this location is my favorite. The atmosphere is nice and calm (not rushed or hasty) and the space is much bigger and open (lots of natural light). I took some friends and my partner and we were all pleased with the food and the service(best pigs in the blanket I’ve ever had). Michael was a great server as well. He made great recommendations and was attentive and patient to our needs. I’ll definitely be visiting this location more often.
Food was very yummy! I got the steak and eggs and was nervous about the steak, but it was surprisingly good! Well seasoned and tender. The pimento cheese fries...I def ate way too many by myself but def no regrets! Cocktails (margarita) were good and strong. I will def come again!
They were really busy and they seem to need workers. The staff was very nice but appeared to be over worked, tired and stressed. The food was great though. We cut them some slack because we know about the worker shortage
I only had coffee here but the waitstaff and everyone there were very nice and accommodating. Coffee was great tooThey are social distancing but are open for dine in. They also have a nice patio. With about 5-6 tables for service. The only issue is parking. You will pay at least 10 bucks for more than 30 min. There is no validation and street parking is almost non existent. If it wasnt for the parking I would rate this place 5 stars.
Food was phenomenal. My fiance and I got the Fowl Play. I ate it so fast, so I wasnt able to grab a picture lol. I would definitely eat here again. The only reason I gave 4 and not 5 is because of service. Our waiter did the best she could, but the bar and kitchen was very delayed getting our food and drink items out. We were a party of 14, so Im not sure if that had anything to do with it.
Food is okay but they forgot half my order. They also didnt give me any maple syrup which I specifically asked for, even though I tipped very well.
Wonderful food! Pleasant atmosphere. Awesome cooks and servers!
Great food and great servers but the host is bad on Sundays. They just estimate the time when they have tables available rathe then filling once available while people stand and wait for empty tables. I had a 40 minute wait for 2 people with 4 empty tables to then wait for 20 minutes for a serverBetter training needed
Delicious food, attentive service, tables right on the sidewalk
Man oh man! Made my Mothers Day, Ill tell you what! They are so efficient! It was like watching a machine operate. Kind, efficient, and the food! Bruh dont get me goin on the food! If you like breakfast spots, this is it!
Ordered the chicken and waffle for takeout. Waffle was surprisingly small, but chicken and peach topping were flavorful. Restaurant is cute and has outdoor seating.
Great experience, great food ! Coming back again
Food was good. Service 👍good
Great place to eat. The food is wonderful! My wife had the shrimp po boy and I had the Bananas foster Pancakes. The fried green tomatoes were very good.you will also love the atmosphere!
We sat outside on the street and had table service. We felt very taken care of and service was awesome. Love a brunch place that has booze.
The best breakfast/brunch in Decatur!! I love this place and the Bloody Mary will make you slap yo momma!! 10s across the board!!
One of the Best Brunch places in ATL. Great customer service, great food. Highly recommended
Food was good. Wait wasnt long during peak hours. Said it was 35 minute wait and I probably waiting 10 minutes. Service was fast. Staff was pleasant.
The service was excellent. Very laid back and pleasant atmosphere.
The restaurant was cute and our waitress Joy was sweet and did a great job catering to us. I ordered The Foul Play it was good I would have liked fluffier waffles. Cutting them was a little harder than freshly cooked waffles I had in the past. I learned today I am not a fan of maple waffles and I probably will not order that again. The hash browns were hot and good but too much oil. It would have been nice if they were drained of the excess oil before serving them. The fried chicken was good and I nice portion size. The staff was pleasant and welcoming.
I had the folk chicken and waffle topped with Whiskey Peach compote which was really good. Only concerns was that our server Michael G didnt seem as knowledgeable when it came to questions about the drinks and food. One question was whats the strongest drink you have and his response was, idk cause i dont just come here and drink at the bar but whatever you choose will be fine with me and he seemed to rush us out after taking our plates not asking if there was anything else we needed but brought our checks and walked off.
Very good food and professional service. My first visit, but not my last.
