Not a very professional place to shop. Dont take returns easily (a.k.a. didnt take mine). Maybe other people love the place, but I didnt have too much luck...
Ace on College Ave. has improved quite a bit lately. The store is much more well kept than it used to be and the service has improved as well. There is always someone knowledgable and willing to help soon as you get their attention. Helpful hint: if for some reason you have trouble finding someone to assist, you can always tell the cashier and they will page someone for you. Another tip is to call ahead because often popular items are out of stock. They have one of the best selections of hardware, bolts-nuts-fasteners, bird-chicken feed, and other home and garden chemicals anywhere. Also their hardware area is huge and has almost everything, including some obscure stuff you cant find elsewhere.Their lawn and garden area has also improved dramatically, although it still isnt quite as nice as Intown Ace over on Scott Blvd.
I go here when I need small things because I live nearby, but their service leaves something to be desired. Today I called about getting my lawn mower repaired. They are listed on kudzu & yelp as lawn mower repair, & the person who answered the phone said they repaired mowers, but when I was transferred to the repair dept, I was told very curtly, No we dont. No explanation, just said that & then hung up.
Terrible, terrible, terrible. Store is dirty & dark and customer service is nonexistent. So sad - it used to be a nice store.
