Tours filled up quickly, so make sure you get in on time or plan ahead. Hard candy tins and assortments may have your grandma’s house nostalgia come flooding back. Great selection of flavored candy canes, sticks, and pops. Roasted candied pecans were a nice sweet treat too! Kiddos in there seemed like they enjoyed the tour and excited to purchase candy too.
I ordered candy canes, both peppermint and cinnamon, as well as candy cane trees. The company was out of the regular trees and wouldnt be producing any until later this month so they called me to ask if I would like them to substitute for the organic candy trees or cancel that part of the order. Very thoughtful and professional. I really liked the idea they were made in the United States rather than out of the country. Very quick shipping. The box of goodies arrived yesterday and the packaging was excellent. Lots of great plastic packaging to prevent candy from breaking. Everything in perfect shape. Thank you for making this shopping experience so wonderful.
I arrived early to make sure I was there on time and they got me in on an earlier group. Which was very nice because the group I was in appearntly was a much larger group. The tour guide was very nice, informative and made you feel at home. The candy is delicious, friendly staff and great prices! I would definitely recommend this to anyone coming into and around Denver!
The Cadillac of candy canes, so delicious! We ordered several flavours with Butter Scotch being our favorite. So happy we discovered Hammonds.
Fun, cute little tour, super nice employees. Candy can be expensive, but its excellent quality and all the hard candy is hand made right there. 🙂
The Tour was a lot of fun, its’s free, and the Tour includes free Candy. Good candy and good prices. I will definitely go again.
Very fun, and informative. Couldnt hear the tour guide very well. Store is full of fun stuff!!
The Hammonds Candy Factory was a great place for a quick, fun stop while in Denver. We did the tour, which started with a movie that tells the history of the brand. After the movie, we did a small tour of the factory. The tour was pretty quick, but was informative. After the tour, you are led to the candy store. They have lots of Hammonds brands, but other brands are there as well. Overall, it was a fun thing to do if you love sweets.
Great old time candy store. Stuff that is probably marked inappropriate for kids these days can be found here. The prices are just right. You can find all kinds of candy here. Would recommend a visit.
We took the tour of the candy factory. It was so awesome! The staff was really kind. The candy shop was amazing. Everyone in our family had a great time regardless of age. Such a great experience!
Super fun experience with or without kids! The store is amazing, tour has impressive fun facts!
Informative but short tour.My little was disappointed by the tour - so maybe check your expectations. The tour started with a 10 min video about the history of the company. It’s a fun video with some trivia about how things are made. Then there are 2 places to view the workers through windows. A tour guide explains the process. I found it fascinating! But that’s the whole tour. They end by sending you into a store. Huge selection. We spent about 30 min total.
I thought this place supported freedom, called and was assured so. When we arrived “they changed their mind.” Will not be supporting until the mandates are removed. Making children who are 99.9% resilient wear a face diaper is just wrong. We will take our business elsewhere.
Yummy candies made fresh at the factory. Nice tours and free sample at the end. The company has expanded and is American made. After watching the video Hammond’s should 3D image all machine parts and print as needed for repairs to ensure available parts as a suggestion.
Great tour! For some unknown reason my online reservation didnt register in their system but the tour guide was able to fit us in on the final tour of the day. She was so accommodating and gracious. We will definitely be back. So much fun & the candy is delicious😙
We absolutely love Hammond candies! First they have tours that start with a presentation then that lead to a walk of the floor of their operations. After the tour you enter the the store that is like walking into an old fashioned candy store. Chocolate and sweets galore! Customer was also AMAZING. And parking is an ease. Thank you for the WONDERFUL visit.
Love this store! Such awesome candy, fun tour and great trinkets. If you want to know what special flavors they have in stock, check their website first.
The tour was free... and you do have to make a reservation. But kids would enjoy the tour. You get to watch them make and package some of the candies. And they gave a free candy cane afterwards too. The caramel was super soft. My son loved watching them packaged the Christmas tree candy canes!!
One of the best free tours I’ve been on! A quick history video was shown while we out on our candy makers hats before we saw parts of the factory and we were able to see them make their famous candy canes! At the end of the tour, we each got a free candy cane that was broken (since they can’t sell those). We spent a lot of time looking around at all the candy in their store and walked out with (what seems like) one of everything. Definitely try their Mitchell Candies. Our group of 30-somethings definitely enjoyed it all!
The staff were so kind and helpful. It was slow, so they gave us an unscheduled tour. The store smelled amazing.
Overnight parking theyre get you in and out pretty quickly love it 😀
Unfortunately we didn’t get to tour the factory. They didn’t have our group on their schedule although we had a reservation number. We were late and I figured we might not be able to tour which was fine. The only reason I decided to review the factory was because the attendant at the front desk was so rude to us. We didn’t argue with him but he talked down to us and was completely condescending and just outright nasty. Im sure the factory tour is lovely but this guy was so rude I didn’t even want to reschedule.
Great place to visit and a must see stop if you are visiting Denver. The candy shop is amazing. There are lots of varieties including fudge, truffles, gourmet bars, and a large assortment of hard candies such as lollipops. The tour is sorry but sweet. The intro video helps set the stage. The actual tour goes by quickly but is entertaining and informative. We got to see one of the founder family members experimenting on a new flavor. You wont get to see something like that at a large batch candy shop. The prices are reasonable but in line with gourmet candy (dont expect Hershey chocolate bar prices).
This place was fun! Free tour. It was cool to see all the candy being handmade on the tour and the employees hand stretching the candy and adding the flavor in. Tour was about 30 minutes and started off in a little movie room with a short documentary about Hammonds history. The end of the tour finished off in the candy store. Tons of cool candy choices.
We absolutely loved coming here. The tour was just right for my very curious 4 year old. The staff was absolutely amazing!!
The tour was a learning experience being able to watch how the candy is made and the whole packing process.
It was fun to take the tour again and visit the store. We were there 13 years ago for our honeymoon and now back again for poor anniversary. We brought the kiddos along. Seeing the candy being made is a fun experience. There are so many different types of candy here. Though some items are a higher price than what we would typically spend, there are lots of deals to be found. Like the Oops Bags filled with candy that didnt come out the right shape and weight. The bag is a bargain at only $5. There are other deals as well like buy one get one free on tuxedo marshmallows. You should be able to find something here. Its all so good!
Hammonds is a great family friendly place! The Free tour is informational and fun!! There are even free samples! Yum! The obligatory gift shop is at the end. Most of the candies are pricey, but you can find an Oops section with pretty good deals. I would highly recommend this place for a fun free weekday activity..and a MUST SEE for tourists. This place is the living embodiment of Willy Wonkas Chocolate factory. 😁🍬🍭🍬🍭
All the ladies there were very friendly and nice. Our treats were very delicious and my toddler had a lot of fun.
Quick tour, but fun to see the candy making process.
We went on the free factory tour & got to see candy canes being rolled out by hand. The retail store has the oops/broken candies and mystery bags for cheap. This was an entertaining stop for the kids!
Was interesting. They did have a disabled or a handicapped entrance. However, I did not see a sign inside that indicated for handicapped people to use the entrance as an exit.
The free factory tour was not very long, but it was fun to see all of the factory and learn a bit about the company. We went on the weekend, it seems like they have more of the production lines open during the weekdays. Definitely a fun thing to do. The candy store at the end had a great selection of all of their products and merchandise.
A childhood dream come true to visit a candy factory, and a fantastic free outing for our little unschool family. Could not hear the person speaking on mic during the tour, but the best part was seeing all the action anyway. So cool get a free sample on the way into the store afterward and have the opportunity to purchase candy from the actual maker. Adorable antique candy truck and equipment out front, too. Awesome way to spend a half hour.
Such a cool experience. I felt like a kid in a candy store, seriously 😃
Fantastic experience!! The tour was amazing, my toddler could not stop watching the candy makers in action! The tour takes 30 minutes, with a educational video and behind the scenes tour. Dont forget to grab a stylish Hammonds hat before you head in for the tour. You get a free candy cane after the tour. Definitely check out the oops corner for discounted candy!
Had a delightful time, got lots of candies :) honestly Maddi (sorry if I spell wrong) was the best part. Her kindness was pure and genuine and thats the type of content I live for!
Great candy factory. Love the informative tour and tons of choices on candy
Great place to take the little ones to see how candy is made... super fun atmosphere
This has been on my bucket list forever! It’s a must see in Denver! It’s free and it’s so fun to see how the candy is still handmade and you can tell it’s made with lots of care of love. And they have a candy store at the end so you can get your candy fix after seeing how it’s made. Such a fun experience!
Hammonds Candies offers free tours (lasting half an hour) of their factory. You need to book online to reserve a spot. There were only about 10 other people on our 10:30 am tour for a Saturday. Fortunately for us (but unfortunately for the employees), they still make candy over the weekend, so that was nice to get to see some candy-making in action. The tour ends in their factory store. The candy is actually not that cheap there, like I would expect it to be at its own factory. They do have some items on discount like broken lollipops, or chocolate thats about to expire, but thats about it. We bought a few chocolate bars to bring home to try, but they were way too sweet in my opinion.FYI - Its about a 10-15 drive from Downtown Denver, and they have a big parking lot.
The women that greeted us was rude upon finding out we are five minutes late. Left 30 minutes early due to being from out of state and had trouble finding it. The two ladies in the candy store where great friendly and very helpful.
Amazing!!! Short tour of how candy is made (25-30 minutes) then we bought some of our own. My kids LOVED it!!!
Great place to visit. You can truly see the hard work thats put into making great candy!
WOW - still hand made & rolled after all these years!Mitchells caramel marshmallows are DELISH!
The tour was short but it was cool and i loved the free cand
Had a tour there in October. Pleasant memories of it are so lasting that I keep recalling the details again and again. Would do again if I will be nearby.
We went on the tour. It was educational to see the candy making processThe free sample was yummy!
I bought a variety of candy bars for Christmas for my sons and husband. They all have a strange chemical taste. Not very good at all. We tried the malt shop, pigs and taters and chicken and waffles. While each have their own unique flavor they all have an underlying chemical aftertaste that all of us could taste. Very disappointed.
I had never heard of Hammonds Candies until my fiance mentioned we should visit during our Denver, CO trip. The staff shows you a short film about the beginnings of the company and how they operate today. The film is entertaining and educational. They also have a trivia thrown in, and it is fun to see the kids getting excited if they get the right answer. Tour-goers dont actually get to see the factory from the inside. Instead, we see the factory and its workers through large glass windows. There is a staff member who narrates what the candy workers are doing and explains the process. Towards the end of the tour, you are led to the candy store after being given a free oops candy cane, which is a broken candy cane not suitable to be sold. The store has mostly expensive candies, but some of them are pretty affordable. The chocolates are the most expensive at around $20/lb, if I recall correctly. Overall, its a fun thing to do on a weekday afternoon, especially if you have a sweet tooth.
Great place!! A must see when in Denver.
Such a wonderful piece of Colorado history! The tour is fantastic. Getting to see everything still made by hand is just amazing and of course my daughter loved the free sample candy cane! I enjoyed going shopping in the store after the tour to pick up wonderful gifts for bringing to out of state friends and family. Delicious old fashioned candies!!!
We did the tour which unfortunately was us standing there looking at video screens in silence. The tour guide didnt have much information or tid bits that you expect from a tour. We were ushered into the store and bought a variety of things. Thats pretty much the point here. Candy is good, facility looks interesting, but dont expect much from the tour.
Very nostalgic and everyone was friendly.
Very impressive, great views of them making candy
I brought two girls I babysit here for the tour. I cant believe its free! It was interesting, well-organized and just plain fun. They even give you a free piece of candy at the end! Plus, the prices in the store are a lot cheaper than what youll find at their retailers. This is the perfect outing for a weekend and would be the ultimate school field trip.Props to the staff! We were the last tour of the day and each employee was friendly and engaging. The experience makes for a unique outing; kids and adults will both love it. Oh, and their candy is delicious too!
I wanted to give a big thanks to the front end staff for quickly putting together a taffy order today. After reading about the companys history in Denver plus our awesome experience today we are hooked. We really enjoy local, authentic, and unique experiences. Hammonds Candies delivered. We definitely be back for Halloween and Christmas candy.
Loved the tour, really cool to hear some of the history. Nice length (not too long). So cool to see them making the candy canes! Just fascinating. You end the tour in the candy store so be prepared to spend some money!
Mmm the wonderful smells when you walk in! Always fun to see candy being made and how many people have a part in the process. Then to walk into the store after and buy that same candy being made. Yummy.
Such a great tour. Word to the wise, dont go when you are starving, or you may buy waaaayyy too much candy!
The tour was very fun and it was a total blast
Had a great time here! The tour was quite informative in spite of it lasted 30 min only. It is totally free and you can make a reservation online on the factorys website. At the end of the tour, we even got a free candy cane sample. The candy shop is amazing and has a huge selection of sweets. If you like sweets and wonder how lollipops or candy canes are made, this factory tour is for you!
It was fun when I went ymca
A huge variety of candy for everyone. Hard candy and fresh chocolate in a case. Staff very polite and helpful. Careful precautions to limit crowds and ensure safety from COVID. A great place for family to visit.
That place was awesome!!!! I love candy and yhe mystery bag was great!!!!
Apparently they know more than the CDC. Still forcing masks even though we have been vaccinated Ive been traveling across the country and this and the Apple store (no surprise) have been the only ones still making up the rules.
Its a great place to visit!
Awesome loved the sample candy at the end off the tour
Very nice staff and delicious candy, i especially love the strawberry marshmallows 🍓
Did the free tour and my family and I loved it! We have been here before and will definitely come again. They are so friendly and provides a unique look into candy making and the history of candy.
Decent place and love the varieties of products its good, excellent quality, Love it.
I was able to find and purchase what I needed. They had more than I was in need of, and purchased more.
Cute little factory! This has been something that Ive always been interested in doing, so seeing candy making in action was wonderful
Friendly Staff. Great Candy. Cute candy store.Tour is outdated for 2020.🤨
