I’m beyond excited about Luther Strings. We have three young violinists in the family. A full-sized antique violin was bestowed upon us. And we came to this local strings shop to see whether the instrument and the bow were worthy of restoring.Chris, the owner, and the staff took excellent care of us. Not only is Chris honest and trustworthy, but he loves what he does and it shows through the quality work that got done and really good customer service.I highly recommend Luther Strings. They carry everything from violins and cellos to ukulele and guitars.

We rent my daughters violin here, and have had adjustments done to my sons violin. It is the only violin shop that we use in Denver now. Ive tried others, but they are actually musicians here and are so willing to help! I highly recommend!

Luther Strings serves the after school music program I run called El Sistema Colorado. Dr. Luther has been such a great partner to our nonprofit and really cares about serving our students. Luther Strings is prompt with repairs and special orders many materials that we need that they might not normally sell in the shop. We had a student request a pink violin case and Dr. Luther special ordered a case, shoulder, rest, and bow to make her feel special. We LOVE Luther Strings!

Definitely recommend for beginners. They were really helpful in allowing me to understand the instruments, and were all really nice. If you are picking up a new instrument or are looking for lessons or repairs, definitely go to Luther Strings.

I cant say enough good things about Luther Strings. My child is pretty young (6 yrs) and Luther is able to make her violin lessons engaging and age appropriate. I so appreciate that they are able to meet young kids where they are at. My husband and I are both musicians, but have no clue how to teach a kid to play music. After a couple years of trying to get our kid involved in an informal way, we decided to go the formal, professional lesson route. I am so glad we gave up DIY music lessons and got our kid lessons at Luther Strings.

This is a really special shop and a great resource for anyone from musical beginner to full-time professional. We did a rent-to-own payment for a youth violin and recently upgraded to a full-size. Chris showed us options at multiple price ranges, with really high quality products even at the entry level. Chris also noticed a number of technique mistakes in my son and very politely corrected them with explanations well suited to an 11yr old. There were other customers there doing repairs, music lessons, and just hanging out, so we all enjoyed the atmosphere.

Customer service was amazing! We were leasing a cello for our son and after a few years he had to get a size bigger! They worked w us!

This is such a wonderful store. Very fine and high quality instruments, dedicated and courteous staff, an all around great place to get your instruments. You would be much better off getting your instruments here than anywhere else.

I took my violin in to Luther Strings for some issues I was having with the tuners. Not only did Chris and his team fix the tuning issues at a very reasonable price, but they also took it upon themselves to address a couple of other issues I hadnt identified. As a result, my instrument is producing a much clearer tone than it had before. Very professional and courteous assistance. Would highly recommend them for any strings needs!

I went in today to have my sons cello fixed. The customer service was excellent. The owner and the staffs there were very nice and they made feel very comfortable. They were able to get sons cello fixed in a timely manner. Definitely, I will recommend this place to friends and family.

I went to Luther Strings to get two of my bows rehaired right before Memorial Day weekend. There was a little bit of a holiday delay, but the service was great. Chris got my bows like new again, even the spare that had been neglected for years. I plan to come back when I need more services for my violin.

Amazing experience! Went into the shop and was greeted by the owner Christopher, and Lauren. Picked out some guitar strings and chatted with them both for a bit. Super unique and cool shop. And good inventory! I’m super excited to start calling this little shop my music store. I prefer little shops over the big ones. And I’ll definitely be coming back!

Went in today to get the strings replaced on my violin. Chris was prompt and very helpful. He made sure I was comfortable before he got started and he replaced all the strings on my violin and tuned it. I took a look at some of the other violins they have in stock and plan to go back soon to purchase one for my son.

I love this place! I decided to learn how to play the violin a couple weeks ago. My bf purchased a violin from Amazon to start and it didnt go well 🙃 of course it was a very cheap one and very low quality .. then I started researching for violin rentals and I found Luther Strings... I got a beautiful violin and started taking lessons with Christopher who is an amazing professor!!! I highly recommend this place, Chris and his team 😊

What an amazing find!!!I came in after failing to change my own violin strings and messing up the bridge placement. Chris easily got me in and out in 30 minutes, and even added a few extra services that my violin needed but I didnt know to ask for (Im quite new).He and his staff were so friendly, and we chatted over fresh coffee while waiting for my violin to be done. Ill not only be back when I need something fixed on my violin or Im ready to upgrade, but am planning to start lessons as well, as Im definitely a beginner.Thanks so much for the hospitality and great service!!

This is an amazing place for any string players and even for parents. Christopher showed such nice selections of violins and violas for my daughter to choose from. She had a blast! He is knowledgeable not only about instruments but also what it means to be a great musician. We had the best experience and we are very happy to find Luther Strings!

Brought in an old violin. The put new strings on and fixed it up. They have a wide variety of instruments at different price points. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. They offer lessons too. I love this place.

Dr Luther is so knowledgeable about instruments and all things music! Love that there are chamber groups playing on site from time to time.So—update about my own journey with music—I have decided I would like to be an adult learner of violin. So, of course I went to the best place around to get “fitted” for a rental violin to begin learning. Wonderful experience picking the started violin that sounded best to me and Chris and his assistant, Caitlyn, are so enthusiastic about all things music, and made my new adventure in being a violinist so much more fun! Now I’m looking forward to going to Fiddle Camp in August to have fun learning more about my violin!

What an incredible experience! A great selection of instruments from pristine violins to bass ukuleles. Got the opportunity to play on some awesome violas too! I came for a small repair on my viola and not only did they fix it perfectly but they made this experience fantastic. Definitely the place to go in the Denver area!

We were visiting our father in law who is a violin teacher and he noticed our daughters violin needed some repair. Because we were here for such a short time -- it needed to be done well and quickly. Luthers strings went far beyond what we expected and got everything done quickly with amazing results in the sound of the violin. Amazing!

I am receiving lessons from Chris for the fiddle and it has been an amazing experience. Chris is clearly a skilled musician. His instruction is clear and understandable. He corrects my errors with patience and grace. The video references we record at the end of each lesson are invaluable when I go to practice through the week. Lesson prices are reasonable and there is a healthy discount when you pay for lessons in bulk. If I had more money I would happily have longer/more lessons. I look forward to working with Chris for a long time. The building has an interesting shape and is beautiful inside. The practice rooms are comfortable.

Is this a real place? I ordered a 5-string through this site. Order was confirmed, never charged for it, but nothing came either. Checked the website, and the 5-string is gone, and half the links are broken.

Christopher Luther has taken his love and passion for music and infused it into every aspect of this shop. He and his staff are helpful, friendly, and passionate about music. Their rent to own policy on instruments is the best in Denver and the repair work is done for musicians, by musicians. I cannot say enough how happy I am to have found this amazing place!

We recently stopped by Luther Strings while in town visiting our daughter at The University of Denver. Her violin had an issue with the tuners and pegs. It was a Saturday and we met with Christopher. He was able to fix her violin on the spot and provided excellent expertise.

My experience at Luther Strings was definitely one to remember. My teacher and I had been looking for a higher level violin for me, and after exploring multiple shops- we were both very pleased with what we found at Luther Strings! Chris Luther was very accommodating and knowledgeable as my teacher and I played through the various instruments he had in his humble shop. He also offered us water and tea as we browsed, which was a lovely gesture! Not to mention, this shop is BEAUTIFUL! The room where I tried out their violins was well lit with various windows, and the acoustics were breathtaking. I am extremely pleased with my overall experience at this shop, and will most definitely be returning!

Could not say enough good things about Luther Strings. I live in New York now and usually get my violin and now rehairs done there. But, I was in town for a bit and decided to try them out. Thank God I did!!! They were so wonderful to work with, they adjusted my violin and it has never sounded better, truly. I got my bow rehaired as well and they did within a week before I left. They are super knowledgeable and helped guide me to the perfect strings for my violin and other questions about pickups, insurance etc. Unlike a lot of violin shops, they also weren’t condescending at all, they answered my questions and clearly just wanted me to get the greatest sound. I will be telling all my colleagues to go there and will only take my instruments to them from now on.
