The most honest mechanic shop in the metro. Also, they are not scared of working on Volkswagen when most shops are clueless or out right refuse to work on them. They are very fair in pricing, especially considering VW parts do not come cheap. Bring your car here, you wont regret it. I just moved to Colorado Springs and Ill really miss having Iowa Auto as my mechanic/s Thanks for all the great service.

I was really impressed by their honesty and work ethic. I had my old car repaired there 1.5 years ago. This was mainly to replace the water pump. After a while, I discovered that the coolant disappeared. I only took it back a few weeks ago, well outside the warranty period, but they nevertheless spent almost an hour troubleshooting. The outcome was that no leak could be found. It might be that the leak occurs through the head gasket and the coolant is then vaporized and lost through the exhaust. Surprisingly, no charge, the owner took it on him to try resolve a problem that could, potentially have been caused there, but that was not the case.However, since they inspected their work, the leak has stopped and the water pump is functioning perfectly.

Consistently the most honest, fair and accurate advice possible.I made the mistake of taking my car to another mechanic for a short time... I had my best experience ever at an auto shop! I had a lot of emergency lights come on and they took me right away when I called, put in a new alternator and had my car back to me by the end of the work day! They were awesome about giving me punctual updates during the day, super quick and were very good about explaining everything to me along the way. They also went over everything again with me at the end. This is my go-to shop now!

Fixed what was broken and no more with a fair price

It is always hard to find a good and honest place to bring your vehicle and this place has been great. They have been straightforward and honest when it comes to problems and haven’t pushed unnecessary fixes on me.The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 Star was that the oil changes are way more than you get with a coupon somewhere else but other than that this is the place to go when you need more done on your car than a routine oil change.

Took my car in for a window issue. Not a lot of communication up front on the cost side of things. Called with an estimate and decided not to put that much $ into it due to selling the car anyway. Went to pick it up and was charged $70 for half an hour of diagnostic testing. I understand there is a cost to things but $70 to pop my door off and tell me the window regulator is broken is absolutely ridiculous. Will take my business elsewhere.

Kudos to this place. Friendly, personable and knowledgeable. They act like they want your business which is sometimes hard to find.My experience with this shop... The AC in my daughters car was out. Took it to the local guy for a recharge, didnt fix it - took it back and they werent able to get it working. Mysterious problem with different temps on different sides, no leaks, etc. Local guy gave up - suggested a dealer. Took it to the dealer and they said they would have to replace every part of the system for a total of $3800 (the Honda is worth maybe $6000). Buddy at work suggested these guys, so I gave them a call. They said they could give it a look on Thursday next week so I took it in. I got a call Thursday - AC fixed for less than $620 - $3200 less than the dealers estimate (the dealer even charged $150 for the estimate).

I have taken two cars here and was extremely happy after both visits. Low cost, quality work, and the guys explain everything to you before completing anything. I highly recommend IA Auto Repair.

Most honest mechanic Ive ever used.Im a car enthusiast and i do alot of my own work, so only big jobs go to them but they do the work well and at a more fair price then most. I know my stuff and can easily see through the typical shop run around and bs you can get elsewhere. The secret is out about this place tho so book ahead!
