Always good ice cream. Considering the winter weather and social distancing, I think this place could provide at least 2-3 tables inside. They had none available so either sit outside and freeze or go in car...ugh!

I do not come here for the food, but for the illustrious history this place holds. This here is the very same Dairy Queen where Chuck Grassley beats his meat. The fourth most powerful man in America jerks off in this exact spot. The sweet symphony of Chuck playing his skin flute here every day brings a tear to my eye. God bless America!

First time going to this location. Customer service was excellent, friendly and professional. The service was fast. Clean restaurant. Plenty of indoor seating. They also have an outdoor bench. Parking is limited as the parking lot is small. The ice cream was amazing. There are few things that rival a blizzard when it comes to a sweet treat. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for the best ice cream in town.

We all scream for ice cream.

I had to have surgery and was in the hospital for several days. The day I was released from the hospital my wife decided she was hungry and the only thing I could eat was soft food. The only thing I really wanted was a shake. We stopped at the Dairy Queen on Douglas Avenue I ordered my shake and my wife ordered a hot dog. The hot dog was not edible. It was cold. She asked for mustard only, got ketchup. The bun was as hard as a rock. The staff appeared to be more interested in what they were planning on doing over the weekend. Every Dairy Queen is different but this one is the worst by far.

Soft serve cones are unsurpassed.

Gotta give props where props are due. One wouldnt necessarily think that a trip to a Dairy Queen for a chocolate malt would necessarily rate a 5-star review, but these folks nail it each and every time and it is both appreciated and worthy of note. Very friendly and congenial staff each and every time I go in there and it is refreshing. In a service industry where apathy and ho-hummery all too often reign supreme, I wanted to give a shout out to this team and their ownership. Obviously a culture of customer service with a smile has been created here and it is very much appreciated! Well done team!

So impressed by this dairy queen!! I dont know the workers names but we stopped to get ice cream tonight and I was blown away!! Not only were the girls working friendly but they were efficient! We were in and out in under 10 minutes with 4 people ahead of us. 🙌 best dairy queen experience I have ever had. 🍦

It was really hot! Almost as if Soft Serve was not being served, but rather being in the center of a bbq pit. It was cooler outside believe it or not. Soft Serve was good, its Dairy Queen. Would probably be a better location to visit in the spring or fall.

Update: Have been in several times always great service and great ice cream great place to get a frozen ice cream cake. They have great Hot dogs and Ice Cream. Friendly service and always clean. Great place to get a cold treat.

Food was average, but 8.00$ is pretty steep for 2 chilli dogs and a soda...just my thoughts.

Great service, made quickly, but they were pretty sparing on how much Icecream they gave you.

Prompt and friendly service with clean interior. Orange Julius is like I remember when I was a kid. Nice selection of food, ice cream, drinks and cakes.

I really miss the one on Hickman. $12.46 for 3 blizzards - ordered mediums and got small size amounts of ice cream. Seemed liked we were an inconvenience to the three teenage workers. Asked for lids and a bag - supposedly they were out of both. Are you freaking kidding me? I will not be returning to this awful DQ.

Its OK (service is great!), but it always seems a little dirty, as does every business in Windsor Heights. Maybe its carryover from The Worlds Grossest Wal-Mart. This one does not have a drive through and has a dumb parking lot. I prefer the one near Railroad on Grand in West Des Moines. Plus, WH police are THE WORST, and I cant be bothered to drive in this silly suburb at 25 mph on a major road just for DQ.

We got here at 10:02pm on a Friday, the doors wee locked and no one would come to the door. It was my birthday and the guy would not open. 😩. I was going to write a terrible review but saw the phone number and decided to call. A gal answered the phone and I told her it was my birthday and she said to come back!!
