DO NOT GO HERE.No integrity at this place. My muffler was leaking so i dropped the car off and gave them a whole day. Upon picking up the car I was told an inspection was done as well which was nice. They repaired a rusted section in the exhaust with a sleeve. Now 2 days later my exhaust is leaking again. I jacked up the car and took a look to find two more severely rusted sections. These were clearly missed in the inspection.If this was inspected thoroughly, its obvious the recommendation to repair this with a sleeve was simply redundant. I paid 190 for a repair that was essentially a bandaid on bad material all together.I brought the car back and was told it wasnt addressed because it was not leaking.Absolutely no accountability for the work being done here, the store manager was not willing to fix the situation without charging me another $430 for a whole replacement, which was the way to proceed originally. When I asked why this wasnt suggested as the way to properly fix the issue in the first place, I was told Its because a sleeve is cost effective for you.In reality due to the negligence at this shop, I now have to pay the $430 on top of $190 already paid for a useless bandaid. How is that cost effective to me?Its not, this shop will do the bare minimum to keep you coming so they can over charge you. This is a terrible way to do business and I will never come back to this shop again.Note: I have been a repeat customer here for 3+ years, Mark did not care and was only ready to interrupt me.DONT GO HERE.

Scammers, went in for a ac recharge said my compressor was broken but proceeded to pump it with freon just to get 100$ when they couldve left it be if they saw it was broken. Also tried quoting 3,000$ for the conpressor replacement when the part is only 1-200$ brand new, never going back.

Ive used this location only once but I dealt with Anthony Banks for quite a few years going to the Hanover Park location. He had always been fair and honest going out of his way with all of my vehicles. I will continue to use Midas because of him . Need more people like him. ..

Called and scheduled an appointment online received a quote on the phone the minute I arrived I was told a different price so No I was not happy so I decided to take my service somewhere else never been to fond of Midas never again.

The whole team was unbelievable. Their services was fantastic because they gave me a very good price to fix two tires of my car, and the quality of work was great in a short amount of time. I totally recommend going to Tony, Norman, and Anthony, the manager. Theyre friendly, and true professionalists.

The entire team was professional and helped us out in an emergency. I cannot recommend them enough.

Brought my car in on a friends recommendation with high hopes, after is turned over 100,000 miles for an oil change and to check out the brakes, any wear and tear, etc. They said everything was fine but less than two months (800 miles) later there’s all these noises and issues braking and turning, fairly certain those don’t develop overnight? Go from perfect to problematic? I was hoping to at least get any warnings from the mechanics, anything to consider, questions, nope nothing.. Was fully prepared to have any work done, I was expecting it to be expensive. And now I’m just glad I didn’t take a big trip or something. They’re quick and cheap for the oil change, tons of coupons, but I wouldn’t go there again.

I have had issues with my van and everytime something happens i go to midas, there real nice and knowledgable. I would recommend them to anyone.

Be careful when you visit this Midas location because theyre outrageously expensive...more expensive than the dealers. The worst is if you ask them to checkup your car to see what is wrong. They will present you a very expensive bill and if you ask them not to do the job, theyll mess up your car. I usually service my car at the dealership and the dealer diagnosed my car and told me verbally and in writing what was wrong with my car and how much itll cost to fix. When I got to this Midas, I told the service guy to check my brake. After few minutes, he presented to me brake job that will cost almost $1000. I refused to do the job and they put back whatever the mechanic disassembled. I drove to a different brake shop and they checked my car and informed me that my car is leaking brake fluid and its fresh. They fixed the leak and smoothed the four wheels to remove the rust and flushed brake fluid and charged me $210. My car drives much better now.

I was completely satisfied with the service I received Emerson Iliazi & Anthony Gonzalez made me feel comfortable with service I was receiving. I got my brakes done they match the price of any repeatable automobile service in the are. I got a great deal on rear brakes and rotors. Factory brakes and ceramic rotors.The bathroom was clean they also had coffee and water while you wait . Very knowledgeable with my vehicle I have a 2017 jeep wrangler . I highly recommend this place they get me in and out my brakes was done in one hour I was a happy camper. Also my windshield wiper was fluid was empty and I asked them hey can you guys fill it up for me and They was like “sure no problem” man that was that meant the world to me thank you guys !!!UpdateJune 4, 2019Another great experience at Midas Des Plaines. I had come from the Meineke dealer on Elmhurst road after being given false information about replacing my front tires. I was actually at the repair shop to get my brake pads and rotors replaced. The Midas dealer assured me my tires were good until fall and did not need to be replaced immediately. They did a great job on my brake pads and rotors at a reasonable price. Thank u Midas for being honest.

I have been taking 3 cars there for about 10 years. I was there for oil change 2 weeks ago and they couldnt do alignment because the tires were warn on one side.I changed the tires and went back, now Ed says its the ball joints on BOTH sides. Wow what a scam. They lost a customer.

Been going here for a while, servicing my 2 personal cars and my company car and then they totally lost me. First off, they were doing an oil change on my 17 Toyota when they called to inform me that THEY broke the oil cap and that it is a know defect from Toyota. They tried charging me a crazy amount for an oil cap ($80) and I told them I wouldnt pay more that 55 which is still a joke but I needed an oil cap and my car back. They basically knew that had me and there wasn’t much I could do but not once did they offer to cover the cost of what they broke. Then I needed tires covered under the manufacture warranty and they could have cared less, I was basically told that warranty claims are a mess for them to deal with and its too much work and I would have to pay upfront which I was willing to do but they called back after a week of waiting. By then I went to DISCOUNT TIRE and within 1 hour I was out with new tires covered under warranty. I’m really bummed because for years they were cool and I always had a good experience and I live very close.

Fantastic customer service. Both times I have been in the manager has really been great with me. Being super honest and offering me affordable deals I was able to get some work done here on very short notice.

Ive brought my car here several times, and theyve really helped me out. The best was when they replaced some gaskets and fixed a hole in my exhaust which was causing the check engine light to turn on. The dealer wanted $1300 to replace parts, but Midas fixed it for a couple hundred.

I made the mistake to choose this establishment to purchase new tires. Not only they failed to install them the first day because the machine broke but they neglected to tighten the lugs. After driving for 30 minutes my tire was hanging off of one lug out of five. It’s a miracle I did not get in an accident.They managed to finish the installation the next day and replace the lugs. And to top it all off they scratched two of my rims during the tire installation. STAY AWAY from this place.

Such store full of sick men, i walk in there a week ago to look for some tires and i was at the front counter i couldnt keep a straight look cause all i saw is a bunch of dogs drooling staring at me wow no shame and then when the work was done and the manager in the front walks me to my car and asks me if him and i can meet that night for a good time.

I usually have no issues with this location but the guy that did my oil change this time, took FOREVER walking around with one hand in his pocket, didnt fill my tires with air but stood and stared at them. Not a good experience this time .

I took in my plow truck for service here Friday night. I had a power steering that wasnt working amongst couple other minor problems. When everyone else was closed these guys were not. The truck was fixed the next day and was making money again! Thank You Des Plaines Midas. GREAT JOB!!!

So I had been coming here for my oil changes since the mechanics strike and found it to be affordable and quicker than the dealership. Good in that sense. This week I needed my vehicle inspected for my yearly inspection for Lyft. I know my tires are near the end of their life at 3/32nd of an inch on a couple of them. I plan on getting new ones after winter is over since driving in snow hasn’t been an issue for me at all so far, and I would rather not give more risk to messing up a new tire in winter weather. The Lyft inspection clearly states minimum 3/32nd of an inch for passing for the inspection. They refused to pass me, I repeatedly said on the sheet it says it’s passing. They still refused. I went the next day to Jiffy Lube and they of course passed me. I uploaded my document to Lyft and they of course approved me to drive 15 minutes later. So thanks for wasting my time, I was never going to buy your tires. Now I’ll never bring my car there again either since my time was wasted, and I was kept from making money for a day.

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus and in 2011 my water pump blew not too far from these guys. I was stuck because I had to get it up and running. They charged me $915 for water pump and timing chain. About a week ago (and 70,000 miles later) I had the same thing happen (water pump went bad) and I got the whole thing taken care of for $355. They are crooks. I have the receipts. I wouldnt go here for an oil change. They might charge me for bringing the oil from Saudi Arabia.

Went in for the tire rotation and oil change. Didnt even rotation my tires. When I left midas, my car was acting worse. Just to find out they unplugged my spark plugs. SERIOUSLY WORST PLACE EVER.

After spending $900 at Midas within four days I am not happy with the service I received there. Every time I left there from my car getting serviced Id have a new issue with my car and when I took it to them theyd find something else that needed to be done. They took advantage of me being a woman and naive to knowing cars. I will never return to them to get my car serviced.
