I love Wasabi! Its been great for years! The chicken yakisoba might be a basic dish, but wow is it done to perfection at Wasabi. Highly recommend!

Food is ALWAYS great! I know it may sound cliche but I’ve NEVER had a bad experience here! The owner is a very nice guy and the sushi chef John and waiter Kyu are awesome and guarantee a pleasurable problem free experience! Where I go when I want great sushi and Korean food and they definitely always treat us like family and make us feel like we’re at home. Wish I could give 10 stars

Yummy sushi and lots of things on the menu!

I eat lunch here almost everyday, prices and location are great. Safe area very clean and close to all the museums. The staff is very attentive and there also a area for bigger groups. I love the specials and the food is delicious 😋🤤👌😍.

This little hidden gem is located downtown inside of another building. Their sushi is delicious. I recommend that you try the Uni (sea urchin), it melts in your mouth like butter 😋😋😋

Ive been to a few sushi places and this one is pretty average to me. The sushi is eh as they put the tiniest piece of salmon/tuna/etc into their rolls and too much rice. The saving grace, however, is the Gyoza (deep fried vegetable dumpling)...now those are AMAZING! Also, the people that answer the phone are super nice as well.

Pick up order took nearly two hours, items were missing, house salad is apparently just iceberg (nothing else). Tried to call and get my money back for the missing items, number provided didnt work. Sushi was ok, but the wait time, missing items, and scam-artist salad ruined the experience.Not going back.

Got the spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon roll, California roll, and steamed beef dumplings. Definitely the worst sushi I’ve ever had. Fish is definitely not fresh. All 3 rolls looked and tasted exactly the same. They also forgot to put the spicy Mayo on the rolls. The beef dumplings were average. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Kroger has better sushi. Save your money and go to McDonald’s instead. You’ll probably be more satisfied after your meal.

This is a very average restaurant. The service was average, a little slow but nothing crazy. Sushi was good, but you can get better in the area for the same or a lower price. I ordered the kitsune udon and it was quite bland. Felt like it was thrown together with little effort. My boyfriend ordered the pork katsu, which was better, but you can get the same quality or better at other restaurants. I would not go back.

Great experience! My wife and I had some sushi rolls and a Bibimbap. It has been my favorite Bibimbap that Ive had anywhere in the metro Detroit area! Highly recommend if you like Korean! The waiter was really nice and had great service!

Food - below average, the tofu in my soon du bu was obliterated. It was quite spicy and once the temperature cooled down it was very salty. My husbands beef was also very over cooked.Service - alright. It was Noel night so I’m sure they were dealing with a much bigger crowd than usual.Decor - unremarkable but unique Korean wooden benches and a Christmas carouse on the bar counter.

Sushi is an all or nothing rating. I got two rolls and both had cooked fish components that came out raw. The tempura shrimp and baked scallops were both still grey and translucent in the middle. Very disappointing. Other than that, I found a small hair and small fish bone in the food. No joke. Go somewhere else for sushi.

Sushi is very dry. Ice cream had to melt for it to be edible. The presentation was the worst. The host was very pleasant. I have came back a couple times to see if maybe I had just one bad experience with the food quality. The shrimp shuami was good but small and was gone within 4 seconds. So far so good but then I craved mochi ice cream. The green tea mochi ice cream tasted like cold twizzlers. I keep getting disappointed time and time again by the food.

The food was alright--sushi tasted good but Im a little wary of the freshness. The salad was not good and the soup was just okay. Im mainly giving low stars because the staff werent wearing masks except the person who handed me my order, and only after a few minutes of interaction did he put it on. The chef wasnt wearing a mask and said it was just because he was drinking but I was waiting for my takeout for 10 minutes and he didnt have a mask at all the entire time. I probably wont visit again.

Have been here twice. First time ordered the spicy beef ramen with gyoza. This meal was very tasty so of course I wanted to return. My second time I decided to try something different. Ordered the tanuki udon, spicy beef ramen, as well as chicken tang soo yook. The ramen was on point but the other dishes...not so good. The chicken was.the driest chicken Ive ever had in my.life...flavourless..i ended up giving it to my dogs. Even tanuki udon was supposed to be in a beef broth but it tasted like it was in miso ( I love miso but this tasted off). At the end of the day I probably wouldnt go back there unless its to get the spicy beef ramen. I love sushi but I figured if their dishes are so hit and miss better skip trying the sushi

Delicious sushi! The rolls were amazing and very affordable. I was worried about getting sushi here because they do not advertise as a sushi restaurant, but boy was I wrong. Great food and the staff was so friendly.

Wasabi. What happened? I got one of the combo platters and it was certainly not $30 worth of sushi. Could barely chew through the seaweed wrap in the tuna roll and everything was clearly just thrown into the container. Not up to par with my previous experiences here.

The egg rolls and the chicken Teriyaki are amazing!

I ordered my food 1/16/2021. Was told it would be an hour wait. We get there after an hour and it’s still 20 mins until the food is up. They then forgot one of my chicken teriyaki dinners. We get the food home and it’s ice cold. I call back and spoke with Java and I’m told there’s nothing they can do about it. He took my number and said the owner mr Kong will call me in the morning.Very poor experience and I will not be returning.

This place is just not good. The beef teriyaki was decent, although fatty, but everything else was plain and tasteless. My sister says the sushi at Meijers taste better, and they also forgot an item in our takeout order. This place is way too expensive for the taste and quantity of what you get here. I just dont get all the good reviews. The lady who handed me my order was nice though.

I ordered from here multiple times food is good. But the reason I put 2 stars is that their customer service is not great. I ordered delivery and got my stuff but was missing one part of the order (one of the pricier items) and I called to tell them about it and said they were going to send someone out and was going to refund for that item. They never came with the food nor I didn’t get a refund. That’s sad, only if they knew (or maybe they do) that we have ordered from many times. I won’t be ordering from them again because I don’t want that to happen to me again.

I eat sushi all the time, and Ive had plenty of bad sushi, but this place really gets my top marks. Everything except their eel was absolutely perfect, but it is hard to get good eel anywho. Photo is of the sushi for 2 meal half-eaten (which the waiter allowed us to pick and choose our sashimi for). Our waiter (he said his name was just the letter Q) was amazing!!!!!!!!!! We waved him down a few times with questions and to ask for a refill on soy sauce and he checked on us periodically. The restaurant was clean and had gorgeous decoration.

Their food is always delicious but customer service is always horrible! Placed a order for a lunch box specifically with fruit in it. When getting my order, find out on my own that fruit was not a option and was not informed of it. Asked what could be used as a substitute since I placed it for that option. Waiter then says he doesnt know if he could substitute but then leaves and magically comes back with a sliced up apple. Then proceeds to tell me that fruit is not something that have been carrying. Then change your menu! .

We love hanging out. Last night we found this superb restaurant which friends recommended to us. We spent a delightful time there with delicious food and a courteous crew and a professional cuisine. We put this venue in our list and we will no doubt go again soon. We warmly recommend.

I come here at least once every two weeks. Aside from their sushi, Ive tried a few Japanese, as well as, Korean dishes. Only reason why I did not give them 5 stars is because Ive gotten my food too over cooked. Whether it be rice for the sushi or bulgogi. Being from Northern Virginia, no Korean in Michigan has compared. However, being like the only Korean/Japanese in the midtown area, lets just say I come here at least once every two weeks 😊p.s. I will write another review on presentation and service, once I get more pictures!

I cant speak for the sushi, but the Korean dishes are just alright. Might have been because we ordered through door dash, but the yukgaejang was not as tasty as Ive had before.

Steal money from customer! Beware! They secretly add a small amount to the tip that people usually dont notice. This is very dishonest and a total fraud! Please be sure to check your receipt and bank statement or just avoid this place altogether.

I had never heard of this place, but apparently its been around for years. To be fair I dont live in Detroit. My sister took me here for lunch and it was a very pleasant surprise. The sushi was really good and the drinks were good and strong...just the way I like them. The place is kind of small and frankly looks like a hole in the wall type of place. But dont let that prevent you from staying. Excellent Spicy Scallop & Shrimp Bibimbap and for sushi - Yum Yum Roll, recommended by our server, Emily. Food-gasms on both accounts! Highly recommended. I will definitely be back.

Amazing food. Had the sushi lunch box meal and it was out of this world. Met co-workers here that regular this place and I cant wait until we go back. Great atmosphere, service, and the best part is the food! Some of the best sushi in town in my opinion and I eat sushi fairly regularly. You must try it if you havent!

Good food! Pretty good! The restaurant decor is plain and it’s not supposed to be fancy—-But then again, it is a Japanese/Korean inspired restaurant. The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because it could have better cocktails. My cocktail was terrible. But the food made up for it!

Dirty interior. Horrible service The food was good....but not enough to bring me back after a huge fiasco with 1) Right after being seated, the waitress told us any sushi would be an hour wait. Since one of our party members was hoping to order sushi, this was a disappointment. 2) 20 minutes after placing our order the waitress came out and announced that one out of our 3 dishes was unavailable. She didnt know what part of it they were out of, but assumed it was a vegetable, not the chicken in the dish. Ok, so can the cook simply replace a few other vegetables with the one(s) that they are out of? She wasnt sure. I told her that in order to know what else we should order, we kind of need to know what product they are out of. She went back to check, and sure enough they were out of chicken. So fast forward and 3) the replacement dish we ordered came 20 minutes after the other 2 that we had ordered originally. Couldnt the cook think enough to hold off on preparing ALL of our parties meals, until ALL of our party had their order in? 4) When she gave us the bill, the original meal they were all out of, AND the replacement meal were both on the bill. Hopefully it was fixed correctly on our credit card statement. What a shame, as the food was actually good.

Good little sushi spot with all of the expected options. They did allow the option of soy/rice paper instead of nori which was great. If sushi isnt your thing, there was a good selection of hot foot options that were offered. Serving time was fairly prompt.

Good food and great service. My only criticism is that the crunchiness of the rice in their bibimbap was inconsistent. Some of my group had it perfectly done, and others had no crunch. Still a great place though

Great traditional food from Japan and Korea. Food was fresh and well made. Flavorful and beautifully presented. We had a larger group and were served quickly and did not have to wait. We did come for dinner at 4:30 PM.

Came in yesterday before closing. Gentleman told me they were close. Came back today, then they told me orders only through the phone or online . Called back to order and given a hard time with a rude and kurt attitude. First time coming here and wont be returning. Come here if you like being treated rudely

I have been a long time repeat customer since 2014 and have enjoyed the quick and friendly service and good food. However of late the service here has become borderline rude. On multiple occasions over past few months when I have gone for a pickup or sit down dinner, the waiting staff has completely ignored us for no apparent reason. We have had to wait for at least 15 min before even anyone approached us, despite flagging down a staff member. I always get the feeling that I am unwelcome and an inconvenience. It is upsetting. I miss the staff who had the decency to say hi when we entered the restaurant. The waiting staff who are working tonight should not be in the service industry.If you are looking for a pleasant experience and good food, there are multiple restaurants in Detroit that can deliver that experience. You will not find that here, given the current state of affairs.

Worst dining experience. 8 people in the restaurant and we were told when it is busy they leave things off of our order.. like the soup and salad that should come with our lunch. Server, Choi was beyond rude and has no customer service skills. I will never eat here again, nor would I recommend anyone too - I would actually give this restaurant a negative 5 star rating.

There was no hostess. No clean tables but the bar and it was still dirty. Went outside. The people who were outside came inside asking for menus and water plus straws. I can tell they had been waiting for past 30 min. The tall waiter her cleaned his fingers on the drapes for the kitchen . the other waiteress was all confused without responding to anyone besides her register. For me to rate this place is a 0 place was dirty didnt get a chance to see restroom. But I bet it not clean.

The food is great the service not so much. we waited 20 mins to be told the sushi bar was closed 1 1/2 hours before they closed. Ruined our night.

It was invited there it was a nice ambiance, but me and my friend was taking then we seen a big roach. So I told one of the waitresses he stomped it and kicked it to the side. I asked the person that invited me if she would like to go elsewhere because at that point I was scared to eat there. I took a chance ordered. I first ordered tea 🍵 when I say I found another roach inside my tea. I told the waitress. She stated that she would tell the owner. After that I ran out the door as fast as I could 🤮. I am warning you to not go there. That was enough for me to never ever go back.

My Sushi was delicious. But my service was very unpleasant. I had to literally go inside & call the restaurant phone so that the staff could see I was calling to place a takeout order. The young ladies very nonchalant & rude. The restaurant also smelled bad this time.

Late Monday night Sushi run (9:20pm). One Salmon roll, one tuna roll, and a hot green tea to go. $4.50 per roll, 12 oz tea $2. The food was ready in less than 10 minutes. The rolls are slightly smaller, yet better quality better than many other sushi restaurants. Note at night you need to press the door com button at south entrance to get into the building. The guard will buzz you in. Its a fancy tower building.

I was very satisfied with the first part of my meal, the sushi, salad, and soup were all very good. The food was out fast and the portions are quite big. I was seated almost instantly. Service was okay, not fantastic but still pretty good.

I took my eleven-year-old here for his birthday recently. The food was really good the server was really nice but he didnt understand everything we were saying as if he was in fluent in English which made ordering a little difficult. As this is I Japanese restaurant I can overlook this the reason Im given three stars is because the cook was very rude. He came out to our car after our meal and asked us why we gave such a low tip on the bill. I dont think it is ever polite to question how much of a tip someone someone leaves. It kind of ruined the experience for us I just wanted my son to have his favorites on his birthday.

I got charged for dinner portions (I asked before ordering and server said I could order lunch) and double drinks (when the sodas had free refills according to their menu) when I clearly stated I wanted lunch portion and even asked before my food was ready. I really wanted to like this place because its close to where I am and because I love Korean and Japanese food.

Portions are huge and yummy! Loved their variety of sake! Beautiful ambiance, small. Really loved this place. Im glad I got the chance to eat here.

After 30min went inside & Same lady was even ruder when she saw me. I thought is it the color of my skin? A few Ppl that came in looked at me like they were shocked that I was even in their👀👁👁So I asked for silverware, Soy sauce because I ordered Chicken fried rice. Which was o.k. but VERY SWEET! Was very disappointed All the rice on the bottle was white. Its like they barely mixed it. Vegetables were over cooked. Sushi was omg No🤢ate like 4 rolls & threw the rest away. Ive never thrown away sushi NEVER! It tasted like fresh fish out of the water. I was mad as heck🤬This is the first time Ive ever had bad sushi. This meal wasnt cheap. The only thing that was good was the soup smh. Back to the lady she was mean when I asked for silverware, Napkins & Soysauce which should of been in the bag anyways & NO FORTUNE COOKIES?? Even the ginger tasted off. Very disappointed😪 I just knew it would be good, Because the place had ok ratings & Looked very clean😣See looks are decieving. Had to drence the Rice in soy sauce .
