This is actually a pretty well stocked book store. There are a few gift items to be had. Recommend wearing a mask.

Though I do have several positive comments, let me first say, this place should be a private club that requires a membership and Ill tell you why...On the first day I arrived about three hours before closing and bought a coffee and sat down at one of the tables... The two individuals that work there were very friendly and the shop was very clean, a readers paradise... I read for 2 hours or so and all the while I kept noticing that the lady who worked there kept looking suspiciously at me ... I thought nothing of it because after all this is a small town and I am not from there but I couldnt help but to feel like maybe I was doing something wrong...Nonetheless I decided to make this my new hangout place and was planning on going there as often as I could...The second day I showed up right at opening bought a coffee and went to the same table that I sat at the day before...immediately the same lady came up to me and said I have a place for you to sit back over hereshe asked me to follow her and she took me to a place in a secluded little room and told me that this would be better.... for you... when I showed confusion on my face she then told mewell your other option would be right over there and she pointed to an even less then ideal place... she went on to say that my original choice of seating was for thecoffee shop people... which turned out to be a crowd of regulars..I never argued or said a word I just left... never once, in a coffee shop, have I ever been told that I had limited seating options chosen by management...Never once in a coffee shop have I ever been directed to sit at a place of employees choosing and told that this would be better for you👉The place was clean and the coffee was good and putting aside the your not allowed to sit here treatment, they were friendly enough, but I will never go here again...

A wonderful coffee shop with some delicious sandwiches, paninis, scones, cookies, breakfast burritos, and more! The book store has tons of great books with lots of different genres. This cozy shop has fast Wifi and plenty of space to relax and spread out. The owner, Sue, called around and found us a hotel when we were stranded and thought all the hotels were sold out.

When road conditions stranded my partner and I in Douglas, we decided to try the Whistle Stop for lunch, coffee, and wifi to keep track of road conditions. We were met with an incredibly warm, friendly atmosphere, and concern about our well-being from Sue, the owner. She personally called hotels around town to make sure we got a room before they were all booked. Even with hospitality aside, the Whistle Stop has delicious hot food (I got the Smokestack Panini and it was amazing) and coffee, and a selection of new and used books. There are large tables to sit and use the free wifi or peruse a book before buying, and there is no rush. I felt immediately at home and relaxed even during a stressful time. I cant thank Sue enough for her kindness, and I would leave 10 stars if possible. Make sure to stop in here!
