We got honest feedback and diagnostic help from this company when taking our truck to look at a mysterious whistling noise near the intake manifold. I had been quoted at a different auto shop in Saratoga Springs, but wanted to shop around to see if the prices were accurate or on the high end. I called Quality Muffler after being referred by a cousin. The owner was great over the phone and very down to earth. He told me he could get me in that day (that very day!) and quoted me for the same services over the phone and that they would be substantially less. I dropped my car off and was again impressed by his down to earth demeanor and how kind he was. After showing him the quote/invoice of what my car needed, he told me he would do the brakes (rotors included) and update me on the other services as he went to see if I needed them. He called me to update me as the car was being serviced before performing it to let me know what to expect and what was needed. Overall it only took about 3 hours, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the service cost less than half of the original quote at the other shop! I WILL be back and am so impressed by the great service! Thanks again!

I was in town from out-of-state and had my alternator go out on my Toyota. This shop was recommended to me from the towing service I used. They were able to take my car in on an emergency repair on a Friday afternoon and it was completed by Saturday morning. Josh was extremely helpful and professional throughout the entire ordeal. My repair costs ended up coming in less than what he originally quoted me as well. I made it back to my home state without any issues. I cannot recommend Quality Muffler and Brake enough. They will be my go-to for any car repair I have in the future once I move to the Salt Lake valley.

I just had a fantastic experience at Quality. I’ll get the bad out of the way. The place isn’t much to look at. It’s a repair shop not a day spa so not an issue for me. They put a Magnaflow exhaust on my truck and did a great job and price matched another muffler shop for me. The owner is a nice guy, I like the way he does business. I will definitely use them again.

I took my car here a few months ago at the recommendation of a friend and am so glad I did. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. They fully talked me through all the work that was being done and made sure I knew what to expect. They had my car finished on time and everything was just as expected. So nice not to have any surprises! I am happy to have found a mechanic that is honest and fair.

Went to rent U-Haul contact-less. Forced reservation to in-person stating they opened 9am on a Sunday, they are closed all Sunday’s so I could not pick up the truck at all. Cancelled and had to drive to a different U-Haul affiliate.

I have a large family. With the kids we have 6 cars. We have used so many repair places over the years and it always felt like we couldnt quite trust what was happening. Once we found these guys, about 5 years ago, weve been coming here for everything we can. They have been more than fair on every repair. Ive found them to be spot on diagnosing the issues weve had. And with high school kid cars, that are on their last leg, that can be pretty tricky. We tell everyone of our family and friends to use them.Weve done minor repairs and major fixes on electrical, struts, muffler, engine overheating, gas line issues, air conditioning, you name it. One thing we always do is stop by for them to check the cars the kids buy for any big issues. They are great at telling us what we should fix and things that probably arent worth it or can go a little longer. For us its been a great experience.

Went in concerned about brake squeal. They squeezed me into their busy schedule, took the wheels off to properly inspect them, and reassured me it was just glaze on the pads and no work was needed. Very good experience. I needed 2 catalytic converters replaced which were very expensive parts for my make of vehicle. The guy at the front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable about the process and the parts. He was giving me a quote when Tom came in and introduced himself and seemed like he really cared and was able to give me a fair price for the work, and saved me $$$. I really appreciated the time he put in to help. They did the work the next day and worked hard to get it done as quickly as possible.

These guys are the best. My engine went out on Sunday last week and I took it these guys last Wednesday to see what was wrong (for free). Turns out my transmission was bad which was not what I wanted to hear lol. They had me bring it to them on Thursday so they could rebuild it for me. I picked it up today and they had rebuilt the entire thing, replaced the torque converter plus gave me a warranty for the most insanely fair price. I cannot thank you guys enough for taking such good care of us!!!!! I was so scared this would take a really long time and cost a ton of money but y’all knocked it out the park and were so amazingly fair. I’m forever grateful and if I need any work done or know anyone who needs anything done, you know where I’ll be and who I’m referring everyone to!

I wish I could do a negative rating on this place. I had the mechanics weld some new rails on my vehicle when quoted 3 hours it ended up taking almost 7 hours. As they are lowering my truck off the hoist the mechanic wasnt paying attention and my truck caught itself on the mirror against the brick wall. They tell me they can fix the mirror, after rudely telling me to calm down. My grandpa who was helping me pay for the work was quoted $90.00 and was charged almost double that when he went to pay. I go back a week later and they say itll be a couple hours. I come back 4 hours later and my door was completely taken apart with no one even working on it. I go in and ask how much longer and rudely again Tom says well an hour. I end up getting a call 5 minutes after leaving he says, I dont understand why youre treating us so poorly? 10 minutes later we get a call saying the work is done. I go in and he hands me 3 other sets of car keys before he hands me mine. Very harshly explains everything and we leave. Im driving home and I go to roll down my window, the same side they had worked on and it just wont roll up. Luckily my boyfriend was able to fix it when I got home, but I will never want to work with this shop again. Very rude, very disrespectful of your vehicles, and 0 customer service skills. Please for the sake of your time and money dont waste it with these guys.

Tom and his crew are awesome. Ive had a few of my cars in for service and theyve always come out great. The shop has the feel of an older day neighborhood mechanic shop and Tom treats customers like friends.

I went in to have 3 Crome tips put on my RV exhaust to dress it up some. He quoted me $30 dollars each installed. Plus one pipe was a little crooked he said I’ll straighten it out for you before I attached the Crome 9” pipes He called it was ready couldn’t do the third one didn’t have that size. So it should of been 60 plus tax, instead he charged me $136.00 I could of seen $70 because he put a new pipe hanger on but $136. Included tax but still got me. Won’t go back again.

Played the “game” from day one. Jerked me around with 3 different prices as I wouldn’t bite and kept bringing it down. Tom had my car for 7 days. Nothing got fixed. I was quoted $1250, then $1050, then $850. After all this wasted time, I decided to try my regular mechanic. To my no surprise, he did it for $350 out the door. Quality Muffler is Unprofessional and dishonest.

These guys do not have a fancy waiting area like some places in this area - but they provide honest, efficient service for a reasonable price. I had a bad catalytic converter due to a bad o2 sensor on my 10 yr.old car. Another place wanted to charge me about $1300-$1400 to replace both - I bought the hardware online and the guys here were willing to put them in for me - total cost about $400 including labor. Nice guys to - were fine when I wanted to see their work.Edit: Ill have to change my review after a series of situations where they just dropped the ball again and again. Still nice guys but delays, poor customer support, and just being disorganized forced me seek another shop.

I went in needing a fairly simple exhaust repair and was happy with the no-nonsense communication and repair that I got. They didnt try to sell me anything. It got done quickly, and I feel like they treated the repair as if they were making the decision based on their own money and car.

I was very unsatisfied with the service I received here. I dropped off my vehicle on a Friday morning, and I didnt hear back from them by the following Tuesday, so I called them. Tom didnt seem to know much about the spiel I gave to the guy I dropped my vehicle off with, so I had to give the spiel again to him. He said he would do a compression test on my vehicle, and would call me the next day. He never called me the next day. I tried calling him all day on Thursday, and my call wouldnt go through. I had to go to the shop in person to find out what was going on. At this point my vehicle had been there for an entire week, and I had yet to receive a phone call. The compression test which was supposed to be done on Wednesday still hadnt been done. Very frustrating. He said the phones were down nation wide for the past three days, which explains why I couldnt get through, but I dont understand why they couldnt just call me on their cell phones. Very frustrating experience all around.

Tom and his team saved the day for me. The transmission on my RV started acting up as I was driving through the Wasatch front on a Sunday morning. On Monday morning, I talked to Tom first thing, and he told me to come right in. He was able to diagnose the problem and fix it (shifting solenoids needed to be replaced) the same day. He was extremely helpful and courteous. Being a single female on the road with mechanical problems, I can feel vulnerable. However, I felt confident with Tom’s professional service and my RV is running great! I will go back and I highly recommend them.

Went in because of cracked manifold. I had them install a new manifold. they told me it would take a day, and it took 4 with 3X the cost. Communication couldve been better, but their work is solid.

I had a bolt come loose and a bolt completely come out of the latch that keeps your hood down. It happened on a Saturday afternoon while I was on the freeway and my hood was flapping all over the place. Of course it was on a Saturday when everywhere is closed. I found these guys and saw that they were open, so I asked them if they could help. They had a mechanic come out within minutes to put a new bolt on and tighten the other one. He also checked out a couple other things I had concerns about. He was so nice and helpful and he DIDNT EVEN CHARGE ME!! I am so thankful! It was a simple fix, but the customer service was wonderful. Sadly I cant remember the name of the mechanic who helped me though.

U-haul sent me here to swap a broken moving truck with a new one that they had on their lot. The guy at the counter didnt really want to help out claiming that they didnt have space for my 26 foot truck on their lot, even though there was a massive motor home parked there that had to be the same length as my truck or longer. He called his manager and with me standing there said tell me that helping this guy will be so much work that hell leave and go somewhere else. It wouldnt have been that difficult to let me swap my trucks and let U-haul come pick up the broken one for repairs. The place seems to have pretty good reviews, but it seems they are very unwilling to venture outside their comfort zone. Even for someone that has spent the last 2 days being towed across Wyoming/Utah, constantly speaking on the phone with U-haul customer service, and being shrugged off by all these U-haul dealers unwilling to help.

Tom and his shop have always treated me very well, with good prices, and no surprises. I do often have to call and ask status, but thats my only complaint.Today, they charged me nothing for checking possible brake issues, even though I know they spent an hour on it.

I arrived at 2:45 for an emissions test. The emissions and paperwork were complete and I was driving out of the parking lot at 2:59! Amazing!

We were referred by a friend who always takes his vehicles to Tom & his team, and especially called out Joshs great service, which says a lot about a shop! I called first thing in the morning for a quote on a headlight, but didnt make it in until just after noon. They still squeezed me in and I was able to grab lunch nearby and my SUV was finished up within a couple minutes upon my return. Great turnaround & an unbeatable price! As you may read in other reviews, theyre busy, so patience is in order when calling in! Id expect nothing less with their quality work & great prices! As well as if I had a big job for them, Id expect it to take a bit, but for the quality of work, and the prices being so great...Id be willing to wait a few extra days to get the work done right. One more thing I have to touch on after reading their other reviews. They are mechanics & human. Meaning, they work hard and are very busy, being a small shop with excellent quality work & great prices. Theyre not their to have a conversation about your day and your dog fluffy. Theyre there to get the job done. They are courteous, if youre courteous to them. The golden rule. But then they are on to the next job. So if you want the work done, and done right, at a good price, then have patience and a smile, and know youre vehicle is in good hands. If you want to hang out and listen to music and have someone at the desk to chit chat with you, then youll want to go somewhere else and pay double, if not triple the prices, for subpar quality. Remember its not a spa trip. Its a mom & pop mechanic shop. So be patient and kind and theyll be kind to you and get it done right!

Many shops suggested total exhaust replacement because of rust (Ohio Car), but they were able to just replace muffler with their welding skills. GREAT JOB, and were VERY Happy with results.....!

I have to change my rating from 5 stars to 2 stars. What I thought was an affordable job just cost me an extra $200 from Ford. I took my truck to Ford for an oil leak that started about a week ago. The leak was coming from the dipstick tube. When my headers were installed, the dipstick tube had to be removed according to the instructions and a new o-ring needed to be installed on the tube when being reinstalled. Come to find out that the old o-ring was still on the tube and was damaged and was never replaced which caused the leak. I guess the instructions that was provided with the headers was never read. P.S. I was never told up front that they do not warrant service on header installation, I read that on my receipt. Took the job on a gentlemans word, should have gotten job in writing up front.

I was referred to Quality Muffler by one of my co-workers. I knew from the second I talked to Tom that I wasnt going to be given the run-around or be taken for all that I had. He was extremely honest and up-front with me. I took my car into Quality Muffler after taking it to Tunex in Riverton and being completely ripped off. They had my car for an entire day (9:00 to 6:00 on a SATURDAY) to replace a gasket, charged me $90 and told me that my car would pass safety. Well it didnt. Not even close!Tom had my car for a few hours and replaced my exhaust manifold for at least $100 less than I was quoted at other shops that my husband had 10 to 15 percent employee discounts through.My car has been running AMAZING and it passed safety! I will NEVER take my vehicles anywhere else. Dont judge this book by its cover! The parking is slightly horrendous at times and the lobby is, well, simple. But they will take very good care of you & your vehicle. I am recommending Quality Muffler to everyone I know!

I bought this SUV from a private seller in Draper and wanted to bring it to a garage prior to buying it to see exactly what it needed, also needed a new muffler. Reading other reviews they seemed good for me as I am tight with money. I asked them to check the transmission and other things (a new owners inspection). The truck was with them from Thursday to Monday, during which I called them a few times for updates, speaking to different people everytime and no one knowing whats going on with a truck they didnt seem to know they had. I called them early Monday to tell them I would be there to pick it up that afternoon. When I got there all they had done was remove the muffler and passed the safety and emission. They hadnt installed a new muffler after having it for 5 days. I got them to instal a muffler immediately because I am from out of town. I asked how the transmission and other things looked because I was never given an update about the condition of the vehicle and everything seemed fine to whoever it was I spoke to.. I recently brought it to a garage because Ive noticed the transmission is leaking, cut to the point I now need to put $1,180 to fix it. I paid $1400 for the truck. I would have never bought it if they had done what I asked to begin with. on the plus side they cost me half as much as a dealership to change the muffler, but once again, I wouldnt have the truck if they told me the transmission needed changing.

I am now a lifetime customer for Quality Muffler and Brake Yesterday I noticed a squeal coming from under the hood of my truck. Today I took my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 to 3 places for estimates to have the serpentine belt and a tension pulley replaced. The first two places tried to screw me over by telling me the belt was bad (it was near NEW), over charging for labor, and inflating the price of the parts 3 to 5 times the cost. Tom, the owner, was incredible! He got my truck in and done in under 30 minutes. My repair work was done and for HALF AMOUNT the two other competitors had given me estimates for. Tom, you and your crew made my day! My family and I will be back! I HIGHLY recommend Quality Muffler and Brake to anyone looking for a mechanic.

I found good reviews for this shop so I decided to give it a try! I was quoted $50 to replace a muffler because I already had the muffler I needed for my car. I went in, all was well. They called me about 15 minutes later and said I would need another part and it would cost $140 for the part, I found the exact part they needed at the Autozone down the road for $27. I was mad about that but looked over it. When I went in to pay he started spouting off all the other things he had to do, which he never told me he was doing...or informed me how much it would cost. He tells me its $150. Im shocked! 3X the amount they quoted me, I was near tears and he was nothing short of a jerk. I would NEVER recommend this shop. At least inform me my bill will be $150 when Im expecting $50 walking in...geeze.
