They are always so nice here!! Would definitely recommend.
My son brought his deer to Meiers Game Processing. He really loves utilizing as much of his deer as possible. So the result was very disappointing to him. Below is his story.Do NOT bring your game here to be processed!!!! These people are absolute crooks in my eyes. They gave me a roughly 30% return on a fully dressed buck mule deer. 114lbs dressed and I got back 38lbs of boneless. I brought in a nice buck mule deer that weighed 114lbs gutted, with no head, skin, or legs. It was a perfect specimen, heart shot through rib cage, no shoulder or rear shot. Killed the evening prior, gutted perfectly, wrapped in game bags and ice in cavity. Drove up the next morning nice and cold and fresh. Asked for the regular steak cuts, focused on maximum amount of steak cuts and grind what is left over and add beef trim to ground. They told me they guarantee my animal back since I’m not doing jerky and just doing ground and steaks. (They don’t give back your actual animal for jerky she told me, come to find out it’s also ground as well that’s not your animal) Was told to expect 50% return(even though 60% should be expected on a nice specimen that’s headless). So that means I should have gotten back 57-68lbs. When they called me to come pick up my deer 3 weeks later I came in that evening and they handed me one crate. I thought it looked small and asked how much boneless meat they gave me and they wouldn’t give me an answer, as I’m holding the crate. They looked at my order form that had the recorded dressed weight (headless, legless, hideless) which was 114 lbs. he said I should have upwards of 55 lbs in my hands. I took his word for it (foolishly) and when I went home and weighed it, was surprised to see I received 38 POUNDS total. 16 pounds of roasts, steaks, and loinsteaks, and then 22lbs of ground. 38-POUNDS TOTAL return. That’s about 30% return rather than 50-60% return like it should be. Considering how perfect condition this specimen was, nice and fresh and clean kill, no shoulder or rump shot, Should have been given 57-68 pounds, 20-30 more pounds then they gave me. They were closed by the time I weighed it so I drove back the next day and all they would do is offer me a refund for 170$ I paid and to LET THEM KEEP MY DEER. They walked me through the meat freezer to show me I don’t have any other crates and I saw a very large amount of crates of unlabeled ground deer. I asked what those were and he said that’s everybody’s ground deer and told me that they actually don’t give your actual deer back for ground meat either. At that point they pretty much told me they can’t help me and wanted me to leave, after I thoroughly explained I’m not happy with a 30% return on my CLEAN perfect dressed hung animal. I will learn to butcher my own game from now on. I have shot way smaller deer *through the rump* and gotten 20+ pounds more meat from other butcher shops. These guys make me sick, do not support this place. TERRIBLE customer service and completely dishonest about what you’re paying for. Carson’s in Lehi was a much better butcher.
Clay Meiers family, and staff know their business! Best processing, smokehouse, taxidermy, and custermer service

I took in a mature bull elk to be processed this year and it was the first time that i have taken anything there. I WILL NEVER TAKE AN ANIMAL THERE AGAIN. RECOMMEND NOT TO ANY ONE. Dropped it of and the weight was 660 pounds and the cart weight was 169 pounds. That left 491 pounds. Got the call that it was done. Went down and the cost was $490.65. Asked how much meat was there they told me 150 pounds. That tells me that the bones weight was 341 Pounds. I DONT THINK SO. I had a basic cut done no jerky i had 4 pounds made into summer sausage. I understand that there is some that you dont get back but not that much..I WILL NEVER TAKE AN OTHER ONE THERE AGAIN. THEY ARE CROOKS. I hope that people read before going there you will loose around 30-50% of you meat and PAY TO MUCH.
I may be bias but we put pride in our e work. Processing at its best
I though these guys did a great job on my Elk. I was surprised by how much I got back. I dropped off 4 quarters and loins and grind bag. One front shoulder was shot I thought it would be a complete waste. I really like the vacuum packed bags. Id love to use their service again.
I have used them one time and will never use them again despite all the bad things Ive heard about them I took in a cow elk that weighed 425 after the cart is subtracted I wanted a normal cut roast steak and ground and received two roast out of the entire elk. Really frustrating to have that happen when elk hunting is as difficult as it is.
I took a deer to them, I had all jerky done which taste amazing. But I wasnt happy when they told me it wasnt just my games meat in the Bach. They mixed it with others also, so who knows if I even got my own back
These people are awsom everyone else i called were not doing deer prossecing they took us right in
Just great wild game processing. Love the vacuum sealing. All the steaks are always clean and with consistent thickness. I have NEVER found a hair in my meat, which is not something I can say about some other processors.I know no hunter ever believes that they ever get back all their meat, but I dont have that concern here. They have been very consistent over dozens of elk. Either they are extremely careful to always take just the right amount...or...theyre actually just honest and you get what you should. No complaints here.Clay, the owner, is also a great guy. Its not uncommon to find him doing the cutting himself. Hes also always happy to stop his work and talk with his customers.I have been bringing meat to them for 10 years now, despite the fact that they are an hour from my house.
I showed up with 140lbs of de-boned elk meat from a cow elk. It’s pretty standard in hunting to remove the meat from the bones when the animal is killed in the backcountry to reduce weight on the pack-out. One of the butchers looks at the meat and said it had some hair on it, which is also normal for a little bit of hair to be on the meat when butchering an animal in the wilderness. They quoted me 60% meat loss (they would only guarantee 60lbs) and quoted me $460 to process it. I took my meat to another processor locally and they charged me $175 and I only lost 10lbs of meat from trimming. I would avoid this place. Terrible customer service and they really don’t seem to understand how to process wild game.
Awesome service! Very nice staff!
Its an okay place to have some help processing game for a decent price. They get the job done for the most part, but be sure to get clarification upfront about the price and how much meat to expect. Youll need to ignore their lack of customer service. They barely communicate and youll get cold treatment if you have any questions, mostly from the ladies who take payments at the front (based on more than one unpleasant occasion).
I am a long long time customer but no more. Last year I received less than 50% of the meat I should have. They do quality work, but in the last two years the weight received just doesnt add up (compared to years prior). They wont reply and address my concerns either.
Meiers never fails to impress. They wet age the meat so we get more back. I love the vacuum sealed packages. It helps our meat to last so much longer and stay fresh.
Vicky is great. They sell one pound blocks of scrap game if you want to feed your dog an ancestral diet. Cases are 48 one pound blocks for about $130. My dog loves them. Not full of junk carbs like most kibble.
Brought in an Elk and received 3lbs of steak back. I dropped off back straps that had a lot more meat than that. The rest was about 16 pounds ground and about 16 pounds of roasts. I expected a LOT more meat than that. It was a small cow, but I was cheated. Having moved from out of state, I am used to getting a lot more meat back. My assumption is they sell it as dog food or out the back.
My extended family have only used this butcher for our elk and deer for decades. They do great work and will make the cuts we want when asked. They have also taken our game in after closing because we called and told them we were coming in. Wouldnt use anyone else.
Weve always gone there, but mostly because I dont know about another game processor. They freeze your meat in vacuum sealed bags though which is nice for longevity.
One star is too good for this company. They will cheat you and not give back all your meat. Find another company to deal with, these people are crooks.
They do a great job processing your wild game, also they make a great dog food.
Love the meat and people best always will go there
The turn around time was litter over month, but with the cuts of meat it was worth the wait. It showed that time was put into the processing and packaging.
Friendly and helpful
My friend took in his buffalo and only received back 150lbs-should have been over 300lbs. Dishonest business- don’t take your meet in there you won’t get it all back! Dishonest!!
These guys are great.
Great service
Always pleased with the processing!!
Uh.. how do I get in?
