Goodness! I must say I was not ready for the overall deliciousness that is Sophisticakes. We ordered because they were a local bakery that could do the number cakes we wanted specifically for our dad’s 75th birthday party. The cakes were soooooooo good. Everyone raved on how good it tasted. The design was amazing. Customer service was top notch. Can’t wait for the next excuse to visit for another masterpiece.

What a shame, have been a customer since I can’t remember. Birthdays, special occasions, holidays and now 6 days lead time is no longer adequate for someone who has always trumpeted the quality, service and enjoyment of their baking and products. I guess all things change and loyalty is just a thing of the past. I knew that there was great demand for their cakes, etc but it’s not like I’m calling Friday for Sunday. Oh well onto my search for a new place for cakes and baked goods ❗️Zero Stars ❗️❗️I wanted to give ZERO STARS but the site wouldn’t allow it ❗️

Cathy and her team at Sophisticakes consistently deliver deliciousness in everything me/my family have ordered from them. Their customer service is wonderful and theyre always willing to do what they can to meet demands. My most recent order was for a baby shower and they helped me determine the size of the order based on the headcount. I ordered a 12 double layer round cake that was chocolate chip with a buttercream frosting and 25 cupcakes of varying flavors. They were able to customize the cake decoration to match the shower invite AND added matching fondant stars to the cupcakes to bring them into theme (their suggestion!). Delicious doesnt even begin to describe the cake - it was sent from heaven, like a perfectly balanced sweet cloud of goodness. People were also raving over the cupcakes too- the coconut, lemon, and red velvet were the first to fly off the cupcake stand but my personal favorite is the salted caramel chocolate- sinfully decadent!My family have been recurring customers for years. Their quality and kindness is consistent and simply cant be beat. The yum factor is dangerous to waistlines, youve been warned, but I promise you wont be sorry you ordered from here!

Just attended a graduation celebration where your cake was served. OMG, the cake was beautifully decorated. The favor and texture of the cake and frosting, heavenly. If I need a cake for a special occasion or know someone who does, your shop is the place to go.

The specialty cakes that I ordered from this bakery were spectacular. I traveled from Carolina just to get these cakes from this bakery. They were recommended by my daughter. Not only did they look fantastic, they also tasted delicious. I would definitely recommend this bakery to anyone looking for quality. The staff were friendly and always professional. My guests could not get enough. I will most definitely order from here again. And yes, the drive from the Carolinas was worth every mile!

I dont even eat cake (because I drink beer) but I thought a review worthy from this weekends 16th birthday festivities at my house. Over the course of the weekend, two of these SophistiCakes cakes came through our house and the supposedly were fantastic in taste but I was just in awe of the artistic aspects . . . obviously there is a lot of dedication coming out of this bakery and I would recommend it based on my own review of the aesthetics everyone elses review on the taste . . . No wonder it is so well known in the area. Keep up the good work!

I’ve been ordering cakes from here for years. They never ever disappoint. The cakes are always spongey and delicious! I highly recommend the double chocolate. It’s super rich with a hint of chocolate chips😉

Fantastic local bakery - Sophisticakes has become my go-to whenever I need a special cake. Theyve beautifully designed all the ideas Ive thrown their way, have fair prices and are easy to work with. Plus, the cake is delicious--always a hit! The pound cake they specialize in is wonderfully moist and the buttercream is rich, without being too sweet. I always pre-order, but they also offer a daily variety of sweet treats and cakes off-the-shelf.

I had their cake at a friend’s engagement party. Cake was super dry and almost made me choke. Their cakes are so stiff and hard that if you throw it at the wall it’ll bounce right back. Cakes look good from the outside but tastes absolutely disgusting. Save your money and your taste buds and go somewhere else. Also, the employees here are super ignorant, and ill mannered.

I had to upgrade my review from 4 to 5 stars. I returned. The cake slices are delicious!!!I was craving cupcakes and found this hidden gem, only minutes away from me. Starting from top left, clockwise are the vanilla pound, red velvet, chocolate chip peanut butter (cant remember the exact name), and lemon.My family enjoyed their favorites while sampling each. My favorite was the vanilla pound cake. Just a slight bit sugary for my tasting but I enjoyed it.Customer service was great. Ill be returning.

We are so pleased with the beautiful cake they made for my daughter’s birthday celebration this week. The cake itself was delicious (chocolate) and the frosting (vanilla butter cream) was tasty. The decoration and attention to detail was fantastic- from the picture of the ‘Frozen’ ladies, to the piping, and the overall theme of the colors- even some glitter! It was very special and these folks are true professionals from intake to delivery.

Was so happy with the result of my parents birthday cakes. I had sent them images of what I had in mind, and they were able to make my vision come to life. In addition, they helped talk me through pricing options and how certain decorations would cost more/less money. While the cakes were expensive, they made sure I was comfortable with the price. SophistiCakes provided a cutting cake and cupcakes for my daughter and son-in-law’s April 2021 wedding. They were simply the best ever! So much so that, instead of asking to guests to please take cake home, we ran out of the cupcakes! People were devouring them - our bad! We should have known that no one can eat just one Soohisticakes cupcake!!

There are very few 5 star places. Sophisticakes is 5 stars. The prices are right. Every product is delicious. The service is incredible. There is literally nothing wrong with the place. This is the ONLY bakery well ever go to.

One of my favorite bakeries. Their pound cake and buttercream combo is so yummy. They have gluten free vanilla and chocolate cupcakes, just ask for them - they are housed in the back of the bakery.

By far the best bakery cake money can buy. I live in Baltimore MD & was celebrating my 1 year anniversary of my hair salon, Ive had cakes from Sophisticakes before (Its not far from my Moms house) and theyve always been amazing, but I wanted something special for my anniversary. Martina was so easy to deal with & we worked everything out over the phone or via email- she really ran with it & I loved the cake. I took the leftovers to the beach (there were 30 of us who went) and the ladies thought is was so good that were trying to figure out another event that we may need a cake for !!!! So happy I decided to get my cake there - it was a pound cake with buttercream frosting.

Things move so efficiently with the outdoor setup! And the cupcakes I got today were super tasty...as always!!! (Chocolate Chip Pound & Red Velvet 😋)

Hands down they have the best cakes! I had there cake for the first time at a birthday party and have been hooked since. I used to drive an hour away to north Philadelphia for cakes! No more. I now drive an hour here! There cakes are moist, and the icing is real butter cream! I Have had butter pound cake and a choc chip pound cake and I do agree a lot of the chocolates chips did settle ! But the cake was still amazing!

I was complaining to my girlfriend about getting cupcakes so far away. She said she loves them. I took one bite and boom, I see why she drove that far. Nice soft buttery cake, and I believe the icing is butter cream too. These cupcakes are by far the best in the tristate. Not you typical hard cake extremely sweet icing cupcake. They know how to make a fat guy smile.

Excellent desserts. You have to wait for excellence though so prepare to wait outside. It is worth it though.

We say sophisticakes for special occasions. Mostly birthdays. My daughter bought me a cake in February for my birthday it was beautiful I bought her a cake for her birthday in June it was amazing. She truly enjoyed it and we truly enjoyed dinner at Big Fish in Delaware. We brought the cake with us everybody admired it

I have been a customer since they opened. I first fell in love with their sticky buns ( Saturday and Sunday) but their cakes are my current favorite. They have slices of assorted cakes available everyday and they are the most delicious cakes I have ever gotten from a bakery. I am going there today to grab a couple slices. All staff are helpful and friendly. Mmmm. Cant wait for a piece of the triple chocolate cake. Out of this world!!!

I dont think I have ever tasted a better vanilla sheet cake. I was at a graduation party and I was told the sheet cake came from Sophisticakes. It was absolutely delicious! The cake was moist, had the best vanilla flavor and the icing could be eaten by spoonfuls. I hope to try more of their cakes and to visit their bakery.

Friendly and clean environment with prompt service. I sampled this place by purchasing 4 cupcakes - lemon, triple chocolate, salt caramel chocolate and carrot cake - the salty caramel was too salty. But the rest were delicious. The lemon cake has heavier and drier (crumbly) but the others were moist and light. I will go back to order a birthday cake.

First time visiting the store. Ive had their cake plenty of times. I treated myself to two birthday cupcakes, peanut butter and strawberry..so good. The front desk salesperson was also very nice and helpful. Ill definitely be back for my next event.

I am a native of the area in which this shop is located, I’ve lived here the entirety of my life. For many years have I shopped for my finest pastries and baked good here, and I have received nothing but positive service from this fine establishment. That was until a few years ago. There was a certain dish washer who called this bakery his place of employment. He didn’t show his face much in the front, but occasionally he would appear from the back with freshly washed plates and silverware for the front staff. The moment I saw his face, my heart skipped a few beats. He he had the most plush, loveable faces I’d ever seen. He just was such a fine young man. Sometimes I’d order a cake just to come in and see if he were there, maybe spark up a conversation about one of my many hobbies and interests like Profesional Foos ball leagues, Eastern Bulgarian History Textbooks, Papúa New Guinean Folk Music, and Shark Week. I never got that chance, every time I tried to he would just turn his head and walk away. When I asked one of the servers one day where he was, she said that he and the company had parted ways, and he had bought a seafood empire throughout the Delaware Valley. Good for him, good for him, I would say. I miss him, maybe one day our paths will cross again. I wish you the best of luck Timothy, please if you are reading this, let’s get a horchata sometime, maybe talk about your interests of parties and Seafood. God Bless You, and your loved ones. Neat cake place with a lot of different single-serving items for sale. Vanilla cheesecake and Red Velvet cake were great.

This place is great! The salted caramel chocolate cupcakes and, when in season, the rhubarb strawberry are amazing. The Christmas cookie tray is great, too. It saves me from baking. Try it. You wont be disappointed!

Ive been a customer for over 6 years. Something has changed recently. I ordered my son a chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream. The cake had chocolate chips however they are were all settled at what became the top of the cake. This made it almost crunchy. Then, I paid an up charge for the icing which is new. Overall, I dont feel the product is standing to the price. I gave 2 stars for appearance.

Got hooked on this bakery about 7 years ago when a Drug Rep brought the cupcakes to my office. Besides the fact that the customer service is SUPERB, the cakes are amazing! The inside setup is nice, The cakes, and icing taste like minwax polish. I wasnt a fan of the cake nor the cupcakes. I guess the days of going into a bakery, and smelling the sweet smell of. Eggs, Butter, and Milk are over. When I went into here it smelled like nothing. OVERATED.

Called on Wednesday 8/16/17 for gluten free cake for following Monday baker had left for the day. I was asked to call back Thursday around 8:30am. I was told the baker didnt have time to make a birthday cake gluten free by Monday! How much notice does this advertised gluten free bakery need.

Cakes are good but prices change from ordering on the phone and ordering in person! Tone change from my mixed Aunt ordering a cake (because she looks white) from me (because I look black) picking up the cake. Kathleen told me my cake was more after my Aunt was quoted a different price.

We went to Sophisticakes on a whim on Saturday because my son needed to go to the cake store. He saw this beautiful heart cake in the display box and needed to have it. The baker was so kind and stopped what she was doing and made the cake for us! She even incorporated my 3 year old and allowed him to tap the glitter on the cake. Amazing customer service and an amazingly delicious cake!
