I read some of the older, negative reviews and it made me sad to realize that people can be so mean and deceitful. Summer has always shown me the utmost in professionalism; she cuts an outstanding style and most importantly, I trust her. Summer is the new owner here and she’s always been my favorite stylish. I’ve been getting my hair done by her for almost 2 years and she never lets me down once. She’s been doing hair for many decades and really professional. She experts in both men and women hair. I took like 10 of my friends there already and they satisfy every time. Summer is the only hairstylist there right now and shes so sweet! I scheduled a last minute haircut the day before and fit me in. It was only a trim, but she made me feel comfortable since it was my first time. Other people might says theres roaches and rats but theyre just mad they cant get an appointment in. Shes the only girl left and Im so happy she could fit a quick cut in! Ill be coming definitely be coming back

I wanted to dye my hair platinum blonde with dark shadow root but the color comes out metallic Grey mixed with blonde. The worst part is the color still stick onto my skin. I felt like I was being rushed. The lady asked if I was satisfied and of course, I said no. She said my hair color will lighten up after a few days but I highly doubt that from the look of it. I paid 250 plus 50 tips so $300 for something I could do at home.I came here because of the good reviews but after my experience, I am not coming back.

Hands down one of the best salon I’ve ever been to. Located right next to Kungfu Tea Duluth and my stylist Summer was amazing. She’s knowledgeable of what she does and because I was being fraud before at a Korean salon I was skeptical about this place as well; therefore, I came in the day before to ask about pricing and such. Summer was upfront with her pricing and timing as well. I asked her last minute while she was doing my hair if she could cut my hair and she was happy to do it for me. The whole 3hrs I was there, Summer made my time worth while. She’s super funny and makes you feel at home. I highly highly recommend this place. Until next time!!! Peace

Clean and beautiful professional hair salon with very friendly staff. The owner exceeded my expectations! She gave me exactly I wanted. My hair got so much damage from the bleaching and was worried what if my hairs all burned out. She was excellent and my hair looks healthy and feels so much better now.

Don’t believe the comments saying Summers service is terrible or that there are cockroaches. I’ve been going to Summer for a long time now and not once has she been unprofessional or mean. These 1 star reviews that seem to conveniently all come at the exact same time are all untrue.

Go with Summer! She is very sweet and professional, I have really thick hair,so it’s always a hard work for hair stylist to do my hair. She did a great job cutting and straightening for me. Very satisfied and Highly recommend!

I LOVE this salon! I have been going to Emily J Aveda Salon in Duluth for about two years and have been impressed by the service and quality every time. They always offer a beverage while you wait and are very prompt with appointments! Louie has cut and styled my hair to perfection and has handled everything from bleaching and dying my hair purple to cutting several inches and styling my hair into long bobs and angled bobs. Louie is a phenomenal stylist and has even cut clip on extensions for me so that they’d blend better with my hair for my wedding. I don’t trust anyone else to do my hair! Highly recommend this salon and Louie especially for all of your hair styling needs! Hoping to be back soon for another drastic color change!

Terribly unprofessional! I called to make an appointment as a new client and requested a master or director level experienced stylist. They said OK we will put you with Louie who is a master stylist. I inquired about the price and she said he will go over all of that with you prior to starting any service. I show up on Saturday at 3:30 after planning my whole day around this appointment and they sit me down with someone who I immediately know is not Louie.After I ask, she tells me her name and that she is a designer level stylist. I also had to ask about the pricing because no one offered to tell me first. No one could explain to me why they changed my appointment with Louie and Louie was in the salon without a client. I politely explained I requested someone with master or director level experience and they ended up telling me I should reschedule with the director.If you are used to a professional salon I would not recommend going here.

I have been coming to Emily J since moving to Atlanta, and I can’t say enough good things about the service and quality of this salon. I highly recommend Ira. She has tried a couple new things on me (mostly color related), and I’ve never had so many compliments on my hair. I don’t bring any ideas to my appointments- I let her choose for me, and each change she’s made only gets better and better. Ira also makes the appointments fun and takes time to get to know her guests. Each time I see her she remembers what we talked about during the last appointment. Every member of the team here greets me warmly and makes me feel welcomed.

I had my haircut by a young man, sorry I cant remember his name!! He did a good job & it was more affordable than my usual salon. It did seem to take a lot longer than w/ my usual stylist. I showed him a picture of my last cut as an example but, he didnt get it as short as I wanted. I think he was nervous about cutting it too short or something because I kept telling him to go a bit shorter but, we never got quite there. He was very nice & I was happy w/ the cut for the price I paid!! On a side note, the salon has a weird smell but, I will say I have a very sensitive nose.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. THEY ARE EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE AF. If I could give them -10 stars, I would. My wedding was this past Saturday (2/4) and I booked Emily J to do my mother, my mother in law, and my sister in laws hair and make up. I was really horrified when I heard how badly they were treated.First of all, I called about 5 times to confirm my appointments and to make sure that they would have hair extensions available for the mothers. Each time they confirmed the time (12:00pm) and that they had hair extensions they could use for extra charge. The day before the appointment, I get a confirmation call from them and tell me theyll see my guests at 1:00pm. When I corrected them, they just said No, Im sorry, its at 1:00pm... Umm, okay. We had already planned a schedule for the day and we had to shuffle around transportation and everything because their incompetent receptionists and system had changed the time on us.Second of all, when they arrived, they made my sister in law wait 30 minutes when they told her it would only be 5 minutes. Do they not understand that on a wedding day, everything is time sensitive? She had to leave because she obviously had other things to do.When the mothers arrived, they told them that they didnt have any hair extensions and that they had to go out to buy them. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?? They have signs in the salon to ask for extensions because they have them available!!! NOT ONLY THAT, I CALLED TO CONFIRM!!! It was too late to find and book another salon, so they had to go and get their extensions, and Emily J had the audacity to charge them extra for them. My mother in law asked the make up artist to do her make up very lightly, but the lady completely ignored her multiple requests and just kept putting on more and more make up. When we met at the hotel, she was asking how she could remove some of the make up.I cant say this enough. THEY ARE UTTERLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE. I told everyone I know, and my mother told all of her friends to NEVER, NEVER set foot in this salon.

Extremely expensive for a low quality service. I am telling all my friends, Neighbbour and family not to go there. First the stylist kept in telling me how much extra each service is. I felt like I was in a car dealership. Nevertheless I was there so I agreed to all the additional charges. That was not the issue. The issue was that they completely damaged my hair and was left with lots of split ends and uneven strikes of highlights. When I called back they did offer to fix it. They wanted to cut it first which I did not want to do as I did not trust them anymore. They did a tone up which only turned my hair darker leaving with the same damaged hair. The owner did not even apologize but said. “Maybe Aveda is not a good product for your hair”. Well maybe she is right a $4 color box is a better product for my hair and most likely any cheaper Salon is a better salon for my hair. Don’t go there.

Beware, they offer money off if you give them 5 stars on Google or Yelp before you leave the salon. Thinking they were a really great salon and great stylist by the number of 5 star reviews, I went there to see Shann who practically ruined my hair. It cost $200 to get a mono tone dried out frizzy look and the absolutely hideous hair cut that was $50 of the $200! I came in for a consult but didnt think I was getting it done then. He said so are you ready and I questioned if he had the time to do it and he said yes. Then another girl came over and told him he needed to check his book because he was over booked. He rushed me through and pawned me off on someone else. It was so awful I went to another salon on Monday and had it completely redone for another $200 but it was worth every penny. On the haircut, two different stylist looked at it and said it was really jacked up and had to cut a lot off to look halfway good but it still couldnt be fixed because I would have had to have cut off most of the length. Dont waste you money! Look elsewhere!

Im very satisfied with my new haircut and style I had from Emily J. Soo took good care of me and suggested me a better style that fits my look. She is really nice and knowledgeable of hair health and styling. I could tell that she is very experienced and skilled from the way she handled customers with different needs. I would definitely go back whenever I want to change my hairstyle.

Probably one of the best salons Ive ever been to.I live in Savannah, Georgia, and I drive four hours to get to Emily J Aveda salon to get my haircuts, so that should say a lot. My hair designer, Soo, is extremely proficient in what she does. They used the UFO thingy for scalp cleansing, which feels really good. Great place.

Ive been to Emily J Aveda Salon a few times, most of the time with only a vague idea of what I want, and they always do a fantastic job. I saw another review on here that says they offer money off for good reviews, but Ive never experienced that. They do a great job, and theyve always been very friendly and accommodating.

Went to Emily J for a simple mens haircut and it was amazing. Soo took care of me and made me feel like I was in a spa. The Aveda products they used made my scalp feel incredible. Overall great experience, no other place compares
