I went with my friend because we heard the place was great but I was sort of disappointed. The drinks were great but were a bit overpriced. I ordered the raindrop cake and it was received in a container, not as fancy as they had shown it to be, but it was fine no big deal. The raindrop cake tasted like nothing but that’s what the syrup was for. I tried the syrup but I felt like the syrup was just pancake syrup, wasn’t that good. I also ordered the sesame seed latte, that was great! The place was pretty small but cute! The bad thing was just the atmosphere the cashier gives. She didn’t even greet us and she looked at us annoyed because my friend couldn’t decide what she wanted. She looked like she just wanted to our order and leave. She just gave an aggressive vibe. Next time she can perhaps greet customers with a smile, not look annoyed, speak nicely and ask people if they want their receipts. I won’t be coming back for sure.
I have been here 3 times and Everytime it has been DELICIOUS!!I first got the Ube float, then I tried the Thai Tea Golden Shogun soft-serve cone. I really wish both of these flavors were available year round and I really wish they had them available at both stores. They are my favorites!!!The 3rd time, I got a slice of Ive cake and a matcha chocolate chip cookie. Omggggg they melted in my mouth! 😍
I tried Matcha Maiko in Seattle once and loved it so so much. However, I tried the same thing here at Duluth and it didn’t quite meet my expectation.. Although everything looks almost exactly the same (even the texture of the soft serve), the matcha taste was just not as strong as the one I had it Seattle.. The staffs here are nice and friendly, this place surely has more things on their menus compared to the one in WA (matcha crepe cakes, ice cream pints, food and snacks, etc).
We went on a Saturday evening, and they werent busy luckily! Walked in with the smell of freshly baked ice cream cone. We decided to try their soft serves, one matcha/vanilla on a cone and one durian in a cup. Both options were delicious and satisfying. Service was friendly, but it took a few minutes before we were helped. We noticed later that they have a bell to grab the staffs attention. Theyre serving durian flavored soft serve until 8/12!
I came out of town to Atlanta for a dental appointment and decided while I was there to have something fun and interesting to eat. I never had Japanese style ice cream before, so I wanted to give this place a try. They had a lot of different choices on the menu, and I had a little issue finding where the flavors were listed. One of the girls that worked there kindly explained their offerings and showed me the list. I asked for the ube and matcha green tea, and I was given a generous portion of both. The service was quick and very friendly.I returned to my car excited to try the exotic flavors. I tried the green tea first and was pleasantly surprised by its complexity. I next tried the ube, and I found that it, while milder tasting than the green tea, was also very good. You could taste more of the base of the soft serve; it had the unmistakable classic soft serve vanilla flavor in the background that every American knows.Overall, it was a great experience, and I recommend it to anyone who loves soft serve and ice cream.
Ive been here recently and I gotta say its a great place to hang out with friends. Their crepe tasted very good and if I were you I would definitely give it a second, third, or a million more points for its taste. The atmosphere is cozy. The space is not that big but they have plenty of tables for such a small space so it gives you a sense of coziness. Definitely gonna come back with friend and try other items on their menu. 5 stars ❤️.
I found this lovely cafe on accident during a previous Georgia trip and cannot be happier that I stumbled across it. The inside is still closed due to Covid, but I can imagine it was a wonderful little place to sit and snack. The staff is always patient and friendly and the snacks spot on. The Matcha Ice Cream and Matcha Hot Tea are not very sweet and have a noticable matcha flavor. The Dango and Takoyaki are soft and savory with a hint of sweet. The Raindrop Cake is very similar to jello with a nice subtle sweetness and peanut flavor. The Taiyaki is my personal favorite - a warm, fluffy pastry with sweet red bean paste (similar to a mild chocolate flavor) filling. Perfect to snack on during these chilly days! Its always a go-to spot each time I pass through or visit Georgia and will definitely continue to be.
Bigger behind counter space than original location, which means they can fit more soft serve machines (and offer black sesame/ hojicha swirl which is only available at this one). Same amazing premium quality by my favorite brand/mini chain for all things matcha / hojicha in Atlanta. Same loyalty program and I got a free matcha chocolate cookie on my last visit! Parking is also easier at this one as its part of a larger strip mall and there are plenty of spots right in front of the shop.
I love their soft serve! I love their seasonal flavors! Nice atmosphere!
Cafe Maiko took over where Lattea used to be, the shop was super cozy anD nice decor. I’ve been here three times already and I was impressed every single time. Everyone that works here are very knowledgeable with the menu and super friendly with us. I always get the Maiko Special and hubby likes their soft served ice cream. Recommend this place!!!!!
It’s good, but not sure if it was worth the wait. Took almost 30min to place an order and to get the dessert. There was maybe 5 people in front of me and about 7 people who had already ordered. On top of that the ice cream stopped at the top of the cup and not at the lid.
I love it especially the dango i didn’t expect anything but it was so good👍🏻
The ube durian soft serve was recommended to me by the nice lady at the register... TING SCHLAPPED. Ty nice lady and bless you
Our favorite softserve ice cream place in/around Atlanta. The staple flavors are Matcha, and Vanilla, with Hojicha, with the newly added Ube as regulars. Other flavors rotate in and out on a bi-weekly basis including Black Sesame, Pumpkin Pie, Horchata, Jasmine Taro and many more. Always make sure to ask what special flavor is being served when you go.
One of the worst place I ever tried. Go waste your money if you like try new things lime me.
I love the Ube and Thai milk tea soft serve. It’s definitely worth a return trip to try their other soft serve flavors.
Compared to the one in Buford, this location needs improvement in terms of quantity given. Normally, I order the float at Buford. When duluth location was built, I gave it a shot AMD was SO disappointed in the portion of ice cream they gave me on top of my drink. It was so SMALL compared to Buford location.
Best matcha ice cream!
Interesting ice cream flavors.
The best ice cream! They have different flavors you rarely find at the stores.
My favorite drink is Matcha (authentic flavor) latte. Drinks there are not too sweet. Takoyaki (Octopus balls) is also tasty. Many choices of drinks and snacks. Love Matcha, explore Premium Matcha Café Maiko.
The soft serve and cheesecake are fantastic. Always friendly and quick service.
Its a good icecream place. If your staying theres these two spots to sit like in a criss cross way but you have to take off your shoes.
Love their products and did not like the other location so I traveled here for Green Tea Mille Crepe and the Matcha Soft Serve but the service was just as bad as the Doraville location. I really wish this was not true but so disappointing. The girl working the front was very unfriendly even when I had to initiate the first “Hi, how are you?” I can not justify paying for TERRIBLE service.
Absolutely amazing cafe!!!!! I stopped to try their soft serve and I absolutely loved their ube and white rabbit swirl. My Mother tried the matcha and vanilla swirl and really enjoyed how strong the green tea flavor is inside the ice cream! Their waffle cones are light and crispy, the ice cream so flavorful and pretty, and the service is great! The inside is currently closed but the service counter at the door unbelievably convenient and is very Covid-19 safe. Cant wait to come back and to try other seasonal flavors!!!
They dont have cheese foam (heads up bc jts on the menu). What they DO have is excellent hojicha and matcha, matcha bakery items, and even ice cream. They have ube ice cream as well but I havent tried it
Very fun little place. Super clean and inviting! And really good variety.
I am a matcha lover. I am always looking for new places that serve matcha. This place has a wide selection of matcha desserts. I got the matcha float and a matcha crepe cake. it was fresh and amazing.
Great place for specialty soft serve ice cream!
Love love love matcha. Ive been waiting for my dream to come true. And here it is ....I could cry 😂 from happiness
Best matcha and ice cream.
I am super happy that I get to enjoy matcha close by!! I feel nostalgia for my childhood and I would definitely come back here!! My favorite one is matcha soft cream! It comes with your favorite toppings and some matcha powder on the soft cream which is so delicious!!! 🤤
Always excited for their next seasonal flavors!
Love all their menu~if you love matcha, definitely go!
Long wait, but the tea has amazing depth of flavor!
Such a great and unique place to get dessert! Certainly more fun pre-COVID when you could sit down inside, but glad to support them and happy they are still open. I usually go for the matcha latte float. The soft serve matcha on a freshly baked waffle cone is equally amazing!
🤤🤤 ube and horchata !!
Really good soft serve. And they rotate seasonal flavors. My favorite is black sesame
So delicious
Love the ube soft serve
Terrible portion size compared to the one in Las Vegas. Can’t compare to Nana’s in Seattle at all.
Too pricey!!And greasy smell in the store.
It was okay, they served you at the entrance. They were out of half the things I wanted and are a little on the pricey side. The frappes I got were good.
They use real Japanese matcha.
Good loved it I will go back it did take a lil long. It wort it.
Customer service is always amazing they take their time to explain the menu. Every single item I’ve tried has been delicious. Would recommend to anyone who loves matcha
Great experience. Employees were very helpful with explaining the options and differences. Ordered the matcha soft serve and black sesame latte float. Both were delicious!
I love matcha, but have always been disappointed with matcha drinks in America after my time in Japan. However, this place is legit! Its real matcha and you can taste the difference. The staff were friendly, service was quick - very happy!
I was satisfied with my matcha soft-serve. Will return
Great tea shop chain for matcha. Visited due to the convenience. Smaller than their Doraville location. But has the same drink and the quality expected. The cashiers are always nice regardless of time and weather. Quite a big menu of snacks and sweets.
This matcha spot has converted me to a matcha junkie. On top of their delicious drinks, they have a kind and respectable staff. I try to frequent this place weekly! Thank you for your matcha! My favorite is the matcha tea float with matcha soft serve and Kokuto jelly. Yum!!!
This is our first time experience in this location. Is very nice, place is bigger than the other location . The owner is very nice and friendly, the desert is good. If you never come try it before, definitely need to try it.
Amazing Matcha Ice Cream !
Ive always wanted to try Maiko, ever since they had a booth set up at the International Night Market. I knew there was a location in Atlanta, but I live out in the East and dont really like traveling there. My good friend and I stumbled upon it after a dinner at Haru Ichiban which was in the same attached shopping center, and I was in disbelief when she said that there was a Maiko where Lattea used to be! So we went, and I have been going nearly every weekend since. Their matcha is high quality, and their lattes are made how they should be - not overly sweet like most places (Starbucks/Dunkin/Bubble Tea shops). Here, you can witness and taste the true bitter strength of matcha, where I find myself often adding a couple extra shots of matcha in my latte. They also have Hojicha and black sesame. Most of their items on their menu are very light, their soft serve is made daily, and they clean their machines nightly. The staff is friendly and the decor is adorable, albeit wishing there was a larger space, but its good its small.Anywho, I recommend Maiko to all Matcha lovers out there, this place is definitely the best specialty cafe around. They do not disappoint in their Matcha items. Also btw, they have Raindrop Cake, which is made from Agar Agar and served with syrup and a nutty powder to dip in. Definitely a first and very good!
A whole lotta matcha. The staff was super friendly, and my wife and I enjoyed our matcha treats that tasted superb.
So me and my friend came here for the first time. we were told that there was a promo that if you get anything on the menu it would also come with a side of a cake. when we got our orders i asked him if it came with that side he NOW says it doesn’t. also he didn’t give me the red beans/cornflakes on the side for my maiko special mix since i didn’t want it in my drink and he said he would put it on the side. i’d rather drive all the way to atlanta for better service
They soft serve pretty dope.
I was getting gasses
I love this place ♡♡
