I really wanted to give this place a chance. I ordered a iced mocha that tasted like a chocolate mudslide shake and iced latte that was just milk in a cup. Both drinks didn’t have any trace of coffee/espresso (that I could taste). It’s a nice little coffee shop with a upbeat vibe but the drinks are lacking. The pastry’s are good though and the employees are nice. I hope this helps the business, they have potential.

Great place but was receiving deliveries and was pressed for space inside. Seemed like delivery was having trouble just getting in the door. Service was good but server seemed bit stressed over delivery and from the sound of her responses was trying her hardest not to get upset. We sat outside and received our food which was great! I ordered the croissant with ham and cheese and was delicious! Aside from delivery and all it was worth it!

Had a great time at Black & Bitter because my Vanilla Chai was delicious! Plus, their is a curated selection of books that I enjoyed sifting through as my latte was being made.Service was quick and the guy that made my coffee to me about an poetry night that is once per month and other local events they host. The location is very nice because there are options for indoor and outdoor seating. Ill definitely be back.

I go to a lot of coffee shops and I have to say that Black & Bitter is my favorite one. The taste of the coffee is absolutely fantastic and is never overly sweet, and it’s never as crowded as other shops. The pastries are to die for. The patio is relaxing to be in when the weather allows. The owner is nice and attentive.5 stars.

What a cute and REFRESHING addition to this side of town! The menu has some really great options - hot and cold drinks (dulce de leche is my current favorite) and pastries (so good) and it seems like theyre always adding new varieties. Its pretty tiny inside BUT the outside patio area is expansive, and can accommodate quite a few people, even in covid19 social distancing times. highly recommend. I really wish they were open later!

Loved this place since it first was opened here. Great spot very cozy, welcoming staff. The drinks are great, the cinnamon rolls and croissants are good but Ive been a little disappointed as of recently. The few times Ive been able to go recently my coffee has been room temperature when I receive it and when I asked for peppermint mocha it just tasted like milk and not any peppermint, chocolate or coffee taste. :(

Black and Bitter has become my familys go-to spot. From monthly sister-brunch to mom and daughter coffee to First Fridays supporting local musicians and artisans, I cant imagine Duncanville without this community hub. HUGE PROPS to the business owner for pivoting to meet the needs of the community during COVID (everything from sourcing toilet paper to groceries and a delivery service) and for redesigning their set up to make transactions safe for the community.I also have to mention that they have been uber transparent on social media about how they are navigating the crisis, and this has made me trust the establishment even more.Protips:1) Plan to sit outside! Really lovely shaded outside area, which is dog friendly.2) DO splurge on the croissants, danishes, or any other pastries they have on hand. You wont regret it. :)3) Buy books here! If youre like me, youre looking for ways to purchase from small businesses in your community rather than Amazon/other big corp... check out their shelves! Other items (candles, coffee, merch, etc., all local) are also available - great for gifts.

I went in for the first time for a strong morning expresso. The peppermint mocha was full of flavor and smooth, delicious. Such a cute & welcoming vibe. Loved the variety of diverse books and the small sale options from other local businesses (candles etc.) This is my new local go to for coffee.

Good coffee, but $5.95 for a vanilla latte is way too much. Plus it automatically adds a tip. So I ended up paying $6.78 for a latte. It’s not THAT good, that’s crazy. Take off the automatic tip, if I want to tip, I will. Now I’ll never return.
