Super delicious!! We came here as a family while visiting Durango and we were so happy we stopped here for dinner! We tried the chicken strips, fish and chips, Bavarian pretzel, and some other things… all were super delicious!I was super pleased to see that they had Mocktails as well! The drinks were so yummy!! This is a place we would definitely return to if given the chance!!!
A fun place to eat at in downtown Denver! My family was looking down Main Street for a place to eat lunch at, and I’m glad we picked this cafe! Their food is classic diner food with modern twists. I had the avocado toast which was AMAZING! The ambiance is also fun! This is a great to place to either stop by for a quick lunch or to eat at with family!
Lived here for a year and visited for 15 years and never tried this, but went for a simple weeknight dinner with friends. The patio was perfectly quiet, relaxed and inviting. Our server was personable and professional. Food was served hot and delicious. Will return.
This was a great place to eat, no wait to get in, and my favorite food.We had a giant pretzel as an appetizer, it came with bavarian mustard and white queso. It just about disappeared before our food hit the table.I had a Verde burger with sweet potato fries, my wife had a Rodeo Burger with onion rings. The fries were good, nothing too special and definitely not bad. The onion rings were banging, they were hot, crispy, and flavorful. The green chile on my burger wasnt spicy at all but had a lot of flavor all the same. The guac was decently seasoned and there wasnt a trace of funk to be found. The sauce on the rodeo was pretty tasty, Id consider it next time. Both burgers were almost Scooby Doo-ish in proportion and I mean that in the best way possible. Youd better be hungry to order one because theyre large and tasty so its hard to stop eating. We ordered grilled cheese for the kids, didnt realize they were on Texas toast or Id have let them split one. It was a pair of face sandwiches, I laughed out loud when I saw the giant sandwich in front of my baby.Nothing was too expensive, all of the staff was friendly and helpful, the restaurant was clean even if the menu wasnt crisp and new.Didnt ask about sweets as cream bean berry is across the street and if youre in the area and looking for dessert, you go there.Id definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great lunch. Ill have to check them out next time Im in downtown Durango at night.
Good service. Menu changed since last time we were there, but good variety.
Chicken Nachos excellent. Great flavor and price. Grilled cheese could have been good, but cheese needed to be really melted to combine flavor and Pesto. Friendly staff
Ive been here a lot growing up, the food is always good and the service is always friendly! The only reason for 4 stars is the menu has gotten smaller, and they removed my favorite sandwich.(They brought it back 5 stars)This is due to the pandemic, which is totally understandable, so Ill probably be changing this to 5 stars in the future!
Great food and great atmosphere. Love all the old fashioned drugstore details. 10/10 recommend the Verde burger. 😋😋
80s music was sweet! Havent heard some of those songs in a long time. My favorite was the old school rap mixed in! The food was even better! Really neat atmosphere. Will go back next time Im in Durango!
Being with my WWII Veteran Grandfather and his favorite cap got us a comped meal by the owner and waitress!!! Super cool vibe. Thank you very much it made his night to see goodness in the world. A+ Awesome and get yourself a delicious big burger and enjoy the outdoor patio.
Negative first - we came here because the reviews said best Chicken Fried Steak! Well.....they dont serve it anymore. Be sure to check the menu on line before coming here.Burger was OK. Cajun Mac and Cheese not very cajun but cheesy. On the Positive side - they have Sweet Tea. And it is VERY sweet.
I have been eating here for years, however, due to Covid, I had not been in for well over a year. We were in town for a 3 on 3 soccer tournament and decided to stop by for lunch. I remember now why I love this place. The food was excellent as always (Try the Ruben). They were busy but our server did a fabulous job making sure we were well taken care of. It is sad to see that some of my favorite restaurants have struggled to come back, but not Old Tymers excellent as always.
After a stressful day . I found this restaurant with the best fish and chips served by nice servers especially one named Brooke. She made me feel right at home . I tried other restaurants like the one in the strater hotel.three words (FORGET ABOUT IT!!!). But the Olde timers Cafe A+++once again Thank You Brooke...
I was there with my Dad and Sister, nice place.I just had sweet ice tea, my sister had a cheese burger, my Dad had a burger, both said theirs were good. I had a couple bites of my sisters. My Dad had onion rings, made and battered right there in the kitchen. They were good. The waitress warned me the ice tea was sweet, she wasnt kidding.Nice little outside eating area out back.People there were nice.
Great service. Great food. Our server even made a special drink for our 3 year old. We came with a party of 8 and were accommodated quickly. Will be back for sure.
Ordered a Rueben sandwich, easy on the sauce. That request was ignored.Friend Ordered bowl of green chili stew. Tortilla was cold, and chili had too much cumin.Waiter said he would take it off the ticket. Didnt happen. So I called it to his attention. Finally on the third ticket it was taken off.The zucchini sticks, appetizer, were absolutely delicious.
The worst service and food service/quality. Spent a whole hour waiting on our food and yet our food wasnt great. Heavy in grease and our burgers werent fully cooked, raw in the middle so didnt even finish nor had the satisfactory of eating our meal all. The sweet tea was heavy on sugar. Would not eat here again!..was so disappointing. The only good thing out of it was the appetizer and it was the Nachos, which was awesome!... Other then that, everything else was a complete fail.
Family of four had great experience thanks to Erica and her pleasant attitude. Burgers huge and delicious, my kids enjoyed their chicken strips and burgers also. Highly recommend this for travelers on a budget!
My waitress was great but the management was rude. The customers keep this place alive. You would think they would treat their customers better.
Great food, made a Togo order when I made my regular order and the waitress put in my to go when she brought us our food to the table so it would be fresh which was greatly appreciated!
My husband and I were exploring Durango, CO today and we found this spot. We ordered an appetizer green chili chicken nachos and was advised by our server to wait to order our main entree because the nachos were huge. When the nachos arrived, he was right, the serving was huge, and very good! We did not have to order any more food as the nachos made 2 adults full and we took home the left overs. We will definitely go back!
Food is always good. Waiter needs some better communication skills! Best patio in town!
Great place with excellent food/burgers. Enjoyed the early evening on the back patio, not too crowded or over done. Great food. Great service. Beverage options. Will definitely be back!
Pretty small menu but the food was good. We ate outside, nice and cool. The staff was great and joked around with my kids making it much that more enjoyable.
Great place to go grab a burger and chill. Ive eaten here many times and the food is always yummy. They also have a cool little shaded courtyard back patio thats pretty awesome...1
I was given multiple suggestions as where to eat throughout the duration of my stay in Durango. Olde Tymers Cafe was hands down the best dining experience in which my large party of 7 had experienced. Even before entering you’re hit with the historic kitschy downtown vibe that they do so well In upholding. The service was fantastic and on point, the food was fresh and delicious. The pretzel in which they offer is a game changer.Thank you for the greatest dinner during our stay in Durango!
This place has been one of my favorites since a youngling! All of the food is delicious and worth every penny. Definitely give this place a try if youre downtown!
Food was okay, service was good. Atmosphere is cool though. Be warned- bathrooms are not accessible for people that cannot use stairs.
I’m from out of town and stopped at this place and I ordered Chicken tenders with fries. Half way through eating my first chicken tender I noticed the chicken was chewy so I ripped open the chicken tender and it was very raw. The waitress was nice and had the cook remake my food and they bring my food to me with the same ranch I used to dip my chicken in so. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant
Good burger joint. If you like green chile, youre gonna like it. They have a nice patio and service is very quick and friendly.
Love this place, been eating here for years. Today, canceled order and left. Waiter was disorganized and no personality at all, gave us medium or well done as our choices for burgers,u they were rare and his fly was unzipped. I was in food service for 40 plus years, you dont make excuses, you handle your problems. Pandemic or not no excuses.
Havent been here in years but the burgers are still great! Service is good and the atmosphere is nice.
First time here and tried their patty melt. It could be better with more seasoning but other than that, the fries were great and the atmosphere I side is really inviting!
Great place for a meal and drink very friendly wait staff and nice outdoor patio
Wish there was a zero rating. I am an old tymer and this was the worst dining experience ever. Rude greeting should have sent me away sad to say the only the water we were served was good. Burger crisp and hard on one side like the bun. Sweet potatoes thin and tasteless. Ranch dressing with overabundance of dill. Server was not attentive or happy. Never Again
A fun place to eat on Main Street Durango. The staff are fantastic and the food above excellent, what more can I say.
Excellent service. Great food. Wonderful atmosphere. I ate the scorpion and it is by far the best burger Ive ever had.
Great food. Service was a little slow but still friensly service
This is a quaint little Cafe. The food was delicious and the waitress handled all our needs. She made great suggestions. The little outside area was perfect for a little romantic getaway spot.
Very tasty burgers. I was going to try the dip but they ran out of bread. Need some extra bread for dinner guys :)
Outstanding burgers in an olde tyme downtown cafe type establishment. Staff did a great job! Prompt service, order and check were perfect. They say their burgers are the best in Durango fir some time, and I believe it! Cooked perfectly, just the right size. Great fries. Good drink menu. Reasonable ales and wines too. Big supporters of the SnowDown Festival.
Didnt finish my order, sandwich only meat and bread. If they resolve this issue I will gladly change this to a 3 star.
Excellent waitress & the food was delicious! Thank you for waiting on us. Definitely will be back. ❤
SLOW SERVICE!!!! We waited over an HOUR for our food (which was just all appetizers). My friends cajun mac and cheese was just Kraft mac and cheese with with tons of flour added that made it an oddly pastey consistency. Sat very heavy in her stomach. Also the bread pudding had no flavor. It was just plain blandness. No frosting on it, no cinnamon, no raisins, no vanilla. Also, our chicken tenders were 80 percent breading. Basically no actual chicken in it. Just God awful. Avoid at all costs.
Food is delicious, customer service top notch. Building is very historical/ educational. Will return again when we visit.
Really great burgers and fries. Very nice service.
I ordered a burger came out overcooked. This is a very thick burger it about 5 minutes! Fries reheated cold onion rings.
Great Burgers!! Classic and the Scorpion burgers did not disappoint! Very accommodating staff! A revisit when back in Durango.
They had some awesome food and services, but they are really slow and give you very small portions
The meal I has was wonderful, but what really made the experience special was being able to enjoy it on the shaded patio in the middle of a warm Spring day
Very good food. Courteous staff. Would recommend.
I love this place. Amazing food and great atmosphere
Well worth the wait for a table.... Staff was polite and accommodating. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was fun and energetic.
This place was probably the WORST place I’ve been to during the Pandemic. We understand that seating larger parties is difficult due to social distancing and capacity limitations, however, we waited for 46 minutes just to find out that we were skipped over multiple times. We were also told that they didn’t know when they’d be able to seat us. Had they just told us that in the beginning I would have taken my kids somewhere else to eat rather than making them wait for almost an hour just to be told “we don’t know when we can seat you.”
Extraordinarily poor service. Food was expensive and mediocre at best.
Great Bison burger! Downtown Durango....perfect! Walking distance from our Wyndham Resort!
Love the green chile stew, Cobb salad and burgers!! For many years, this has been our go to for tasty meals... extremely consistent.
Best burgers. Amazing green Chile hotdogs and onion rings with just the right crispy. The waitstaff was exceptional!
Nice patio. Good food.
Lively atmosphere, good burgers, lots of fries with your burger. Adherence to Covid protocols. Full bar for those that imbibe.
I had a great burger and fries. Comfortable atmosphere.
Food is only OK. Servers were good, but understaffed.
The food is delicious and Ive enjoyed every meal Ive head there. On my most recent visit, they asked if I preferred inside or outside. I wasnt picky, but the table they offered outside was in direct sunlight and the the temperature outside was nearing 90 degrees. Thankfully, hostess accommodated and cleaned off a table in the shade which I appreciated.Worth noting that bathrooms are not accessible due to when the building was built.
Honestly, it was OK. I gave it a 2 stars because the food tasted decent, but they screwed up more than once. I ordered a standard 1/2lb burger from the menu, the meat cooked to medium, add pepper jack cheese and regular fries. If you look at the pictures of the hamburger that I bit into, I got a well done burger, with sweet potato fries, and my cheese was provalone with onions under the cheese as well as on the side. I like sweet potato fries, so no big deal. I scraped the onions off, dealt with it not being cooked right and just tried to enjoy my lunch with my wife and child. Our server towards the end of the meal said I have to go pay a parking ticket, so Ill be back. If you need anything, just ask ___ and shell help you. Overall I wasnt impressed by this place. I usually never give bad reviews but I wasnt thrilled with my meal or service.
Chicken fried steak was absolutely perfect!! Loved the gravy so dang much. The staff was crazy fun to talk to. Definitely recommend this place 💖💯💯 Will come back every time Im out here.
The service is very slow and is very high pricedDo not recommend
Good food, ok service.
Make sure you check your bill, we had several issues!
Very good food, but they dont follow any covid regulations.
What a rude and disrespectful. Casher David was very horrible. had asked my aunt and i to leave, Because he need the table, while my aunt wasnt done eating her meal. That was a rude and disrespectful casher order taker. I would never come back because do to this issue.
You guys need a serious deep cleaning of the whole place. It is disgusting in there. Mostly talking about above where your cooks are. It looks like some chili exploded and hit the fan and is now on the walls/pictures. You can tell the owner doesnt care much bout this place
Fun people. Great food hamburger big enough to share
The food was really good! I had the burger special and it was wonderful. We sar at the bar, and Becca took great care of us. Wonderful beer selection and full bar. I will go back
Great food, amazing atmosphere, serve is always incredible. We always make an effort to come thru Old Tymers for lunch when we come back into town from Phoenix, AZ.
Mediocre food with high prices. You can find plenty of options elsewhere on Main Ave.
Great food and atmosphere..
Service is excellent. Very attentive for a Labor Day weekend. Steak sandwich and burger were excellent. Very high quality meat.
New owners, New menu. Kinda pricey.
Its a nice place to be to grab a quick bite, great food great drinks. Its one of my favorite places to go with my friends, and my husband. Never disappoints.
Had the pleasure of having lunch here today. Lynnell was our server and she was great. When you go in, ask for her, you wont be sorry. Shes very attentive and friendly. Our food was good too! Well definitely be back!!! You should go and ask for Lynnell!!
Great food and service!
Best chicken fried steak Ive ever had! Excellent service too.
Ahh! Man. I love burgers and thought New Mexico had good burgers? Its worth it to jump the state line and get a BETTER, JUICY, TASTY, STUPENDOUS meal. Everything from service and leaving out the door was wonderful. Thanks, Do what your doing. Marvelous consumer favors.
