Old classic style diner with sweet staff. My table mate Kristen didn’t ever get her sourdough, rather some normal toast and boy was she livid. The cure is fuggin amazing. The hot cakes wonderful but still not sure of the diff between hot cakes and pan cakes like is it a superiority thing? Hand is up for hot cake size comparison. Biscuits and gravy were a little chilly but staff was great about heating them back up. Very busy spot because it’s so good.
The place was crowded with not only people, but flies. This is a small, downtown diner so space is limited, tables are close together, and the environment is a bit cramped.The staff was friendly, the cost affordable (for downtown Durango), and the food edible. Aside from the fact that the pancake was very large, there was nothing special about the food. Neither good, nor bad.I hope this doesnt come across as a negative review. It wasnt meant as one. I was merely giving my experience. Truth is, IDK how anyone can make bacon and eggs extraordinary. If in Durango again, it is possible I might eat there again.
The Durango Diner is a MUST for breakfast or lunch! This stop is always at the top of my list when visiting Durango. The service is OUTSTANDING, and the food is ALWAYS FABULOUS!! Huge HUGE portions and well priced! I asked for 1/2 of an order of Biscuits and gravy and could not even come close to finishing this HALF order of yummy stuff! ALWAYS perfection at The Durango Diner and the staff is awesome!
Very friendly simple diner. The food was decent. Big homestyle portions. The server was very attentive, and on top of our table, even though it was a busy Sunday. They accidentally dropped my breakfast so it took longer to bring my food out and they were so gracious and put it on the house. Nice breakfast for our long drive back home.
Counter style diner. You can watch your food being made by a smooth working team of employees who seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs. The food was delicious with huge proportions and great prices. Its enjoyably busy and noisy and overall, very clean considering the level of industry taking place here. Solid choice!!
Be ready to walk a long way to work off this fabulous breakfast! The food is excellent with huge portions! The pancakes are wonderful (unless you are a teenage boy, 1 will fill you up), huevos rancheros and The Cure are outstanding. I am a green chili fan usually, both are great, but if you have a choice go for the red! We will eat here again before leaving Durango!!
Awesome breakfast and great diner atmosphere. Order with care because you are going to get an ENORMOUS amount of food. Btw, we learned that the original owner just sold the place to a former employee who we met and is an awesome cook. I hope the diner does well in his hands. The service is great! This place is the definition of diner. Great breakfast, friendly servers and most of the people seem to eat there every morning. The pancakes are huge and really good. Other breakfast portions are also large. Definitely the go-to place for breakfast in Durango.

Great old time feeling diner. Excellent food, if your hungry the Cure is the one to order. I was going to have chicken fried steak the special of the day today but they ran out of gravy! So I had a cheese burger instead. My wife had turkey club, her sandwich eclipsed my burger!
A true greasy spoon, quirky and ancient ambience and infrastructure and hearty eatery. I had the steak and eggs smothered with green chili and my wife had the house special, The Cure; the portions were large, the steak was surprisingly good and properly medium-rare, the green chili was good and the price was fair. This is the perfect place to follow up a grueling hike or long night of drinking.
This place, hands down, has the best omelette in town. The kitchen sink omelette be shmackin!

This Diner is the best place we have ever eaten at!! It’s was what we looked forward to every day and the best way to get your morning started. We was there 4 days and was at the diner every morning. The food is wonderful and the service was wonderful. You felt like you was home. We give it a 10 STARS.
We love this little diner on Main Street downtown. The services always wonderful and the food is great but they do serve tons of it so be careful. If you do order a pancake make sure its only one as it kills the whole plate. Thanks guys see you next year!

The food is delicious. They put their own spin on certain dishes which makes it more interesting to visit. They do have Hatch Green Chili if that is what you like. Great service!
We found this place by accident and it was fabulous! Even ordered a burrito for the road and that was great too! The bacon was so good I wanted to take that home and the eggs over easy were spot on. Will definitely be back!

Amazing food and service. Only giving it a 4 due to the small breakfast burrito(could have been a fluke) and the price, pretty steep for a dinner. Would be nice to have a locals discount as prices are expected to be higher in a resort town.
We have had breakfast 3 morning & the food has been amazing! We are from Texas & nowhere in Texas have we has such wonderful food! The servers were all very friendly & courteous. We will be eating here on our next visit

Hole in the wall treat for me. A true diner experience. Always dependable, good greasy food, while sitting at the counter with your best newest friends!! Nothing better for a morning belly bomb to start the day.
Highly disappointed 😞 staff was sweet & attentive. We sat at the counter my OCD & anxiety was through the roof. Constant cross contamination! Cooks repeatedly touched raw pork & then touched finished hashbrowns or finished plates. I didnt see a single staff member wash their hands or wipe them on anything but their dirty aprons. No Cooks wore gloves. We tried to stick it out & waited over an hour before we couldnt do it anymore. Left money on the counter to cover the food we never received. 😟I can appreciate the old fashion diner style, but theres got to be OSHA in place which I did not see anyone practicing.

Came in on a Wednesday for breakfast. We found this spot by searching for “Best breakfast in Durango”.Food was very good. Portions were big. Sarah - our server- took great care of us. She was the perfect combination of kind and efficient.You should eat here.
One of the best food stops on my trip by far.This diner is amazing they hand grade potatoes for the hashbrowns cook right in front of you and have some of the heartiest food around I give this place 5 stars because they deserve it. I am sad I only discovered this place on my last day In town. I will definitely visit Durango again and I will 100% stop by and eat here again. This is a Durango must visit spot
Arrived early on a Sunday morning. Greeted by a friendly staff and the smell of good food. Portions are large and cooked right in front of you. Very reasonable prices great atmosphere.

If Im in Durango you know Im swinging by the Durango Diner for breakfast or lunch. Classic old timey diner setting. Serving staff and cooks are very friendly and make it a fun atmosphere. Their green chili sauce is ridiculously good and I would certainly suggest getting The Cure for a breakfast option. During COVID-19 they are currently seating people 6 feet apart and limiting the amount of people inside.
They make their own corned beef hash, which should tell you everything you need to know.

I’ve been cured!I cannot speak highly enough about the Durango Diner. This place should be a national monument, or at least a historical site. If your wanting a non-Disney-fied look at America culture, stop by. My favorite spot is right behind the stovetop, because I can see where the magic happens.I’m looking forward to the day I bring my grandkids to Durango Diner, in about 50 years.
Waitress was nice and polite. The food however, was not that great. Ordered the bisquit and gravy, overwhelmed with pepper! Thats all it tasted like, pepper. Could not finish it. Hashbrowns were burnt & cooked on the outside, but the inside was not cooked all the way. Just ate the eggs and toast...honestly would not here again.
I’ve never had more fun at a diner! The Staff was so cheerful and fun and food was phenomenal with huge portions! I will be back for sure!

The food is quite good! Unfortunately, the service is sub-par. I write this giving them a little slack, however, the waitress was just plain rude. She tossed the silverware onto our table, and when my mother asked for a new fork, the lady threw up her hands and shook them around her head. She brought back a fork and then took the one my mother didnt use and quite literally laughed in her face. As someone who works in customer service I would NEVER.
If you visit Durango, you have to try the legendary Durango Diner! I ate here all the time when I lived here way back in the day. Its one of those old school diners that I remember as a kid. It is very small so you have to plan accordingly when its busy. I always have a meal there when I come back to visit.
Excellent server, unique atmosphere, but breakfast hash browns were tasteless. Not even salt would resurrect them

Amazing time. Food was served in massive portions and the pancakes were enormous! Leaving a five star review because not only was the food fantastic, but my group of three was served/helped by every member of the staff at least once. Will certainly return during my next trip to Durango!

Tried this place for the first time on vacay because they stated they had fresh green Chile and Im a Chile lover being from New Mexico and all. It was a small little diner downtown with about 10-12 tables and also with counter seating. I ordered the huevos ranchos of course with their green chile on the side in case I did not like it. This included beans and potatoes on top of a flour tortilla with sour cream, lettuce and tomato. The green Chile had a little kick but not what I am used to, and it lacked a lot of salt. For the most part the meal was ok but I probably wouldnt order this again. We also ordered the French toast and that was really good. The diner seems to keep their door open which lets in flies and it was a pain trying to eat and shoo them away. This would be another reason I probably will not return. Service was good and waitress was nice, as well as the price wasnt too bad. Your choice if you want to give it a try but I dont recommend. If you read my review please hit the like button. Thank you.

Seriously cant reccomend it enough! Its a small little space but the workers are like a well oiled machine, and along with efficiency, the staff was also overwhelmingly friendly. Ive never seen a restaurant where even the cooks were welcoming.Best hashbrowns Ive ever had. I got a ham and cheese omlette- also delicious. My mom got The Cure and loved it.Super strongly recommend the hashbrowns and the bacon. Portions make it well worth the price.

Easy read menu. Orders are taken and give out fast. Best biscuit i have had here in Durango. Staff is always friend and welcoming. Atmosphere is almost classic to pops style restaurants. Just one thing i find with the breakfast choice or biscuit and gracy, im almost positive with how friendly they are, they are most likely willing to adjust any orders taken, maybe little less pepper in the gravy.
It was open and very crowded. A 30 minute wait time would be needed to be served. We did not stay.Parking is metered during business hours; free in the evenings and on weekends. Its sidewalk parallel or around the corner.Serves breakfast and lunch only.
