There are no smiles and the place is small, but I have found giants inside that store. Excellent service and the best technical quality in the installation. They even helped me adjust the equipment to my needs! Before meeting them I have made some estimates (dash cam) and the most honest place has been here. Thank you forever!

Upgrade project: 1,000 watt, 5 ch amp, Kicker box package with 10 subwoofer, sub knob10/10 Got a new Jeep Cherokee latitude plus that had the premium head unit but factory speakers and no amp (by design). I spoke with the parts guy at Hillsborough Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler who shared Auto Acoustics used to be in Hillsborough and have done a lot of great after market projects for them over the years, explained theyd never sell me something I dont need and are just great guys to work with... so I went to check em out.Boy were they right! I walked in and told them I was looking for clean sound with full power (factory speakers come notoriously underpowered) and wanted to round out the bottom-end with a sub to take the load of my stock two-ways, but wasnt looking to blow out zippos or win any competitions just pure clean good sound. At the same time, I need to be able to pull the box if I need trunk space and they showed me a kicker box that can do precisely that!Week later and man Im blown away. I cant get over how clean and pure the sound is (like, full concert/club quality, full replication of original recording clean). They put in a sub knob that allows me to transition between two-way speaker bass and full sub bass (or hybrid), and even at low volume on xm or fm (let alone spotify) the sound quality is awesome. The full powered factory speakers really came to life with this amp and the sub blows me away without annoying everyone around me.Looking forward to driving out on the beach now with tunes and cruising around town. Thanks again guys, will absolutely be back for future projects!!

Wow great service! I called 2 other places before settling on them. They installed an amp and subwoofer. These guys know what their doing. They set my crossover and installed a bass level control so that I can adjust depending on the song. I listen to music all over the spectrum (deathmetal, classic rock, rap, pop, ect) and found the subwoofer that suited my needs. I tried a 10 and 12 and back to the 10 and settled on the 12. I dont know if their competitive with their pricing, as I didnt bother to shop around once I felt confident with their expertise. They only deal with the high end SKU products and equipment you cant get at Walmart. Im sure you can go to best buy and get it done cheaper, but you wont have the care and calibration these guys do....They want you to leave satisfied. Was looking at several different head unit options. Came in spent a good amount of time in the store and talking with everyone there. Worked out the head unit, accessories and install date in about 45 minutes.Prices are a little higher than the BigBox/bargain hunter/online only shops, but the service and follow through more than make up for it.Wiring is neat and tied off. No rats nest behind the head unit or by the battery terminal.Install was great, looks and sounds great. Apart from the new head unit, you cant tell these guys were there. They even cleaned up the wiring from the previous owner (bad H/U install, BT Adapter, radar detector and such).I had a small post install problem (defective USB port) and the team at Auto Acoustics was more than happy to find a time to take a look and swap out the bad part.

Excellent source. The owner/operator, Richard, is much more interested in helping you figure out what you want and need than pushing a sale. He is knowledgeable and friendly and willing to take however much time you need to find your best solution.

I read reviews about this business and wanted to see about getting them to do some work for me . I called location during business hours and didnt get an answer. Answering machine came on and i left the business a message notifying them i was interested in giving them some business. And to my dismay i never heard back from location. I am a firm believer in paying attention to signs because it speaks for what may be whats to come and not replying to customer tell me a lot from the jump how they handle business affairs. Until this very day no return call. Unsavory.

The guys at Auto Acoustics were very courteous and knowledgeable. I had them install an Alpine mini plug and play amp into my lexus. They did it at the price quoted and my system sounds so much better. I didnt even purchase the amp from them. Other businesses were trying to charge double the price AA installed it for. Some places were evening insisting that it could not be installed because my car had a factory amp or that the sound would not be noticeable. Im glad that I didnt listen and trusted the AA team. Called ahead before coming and spoke to Stan who was very helpful on the phone and dealt with Richard in person. Both fantastic. Had to replace both front speakers and Richard was attentive and asked what I mostly listened to - to which I replied podcasts, so vocal audio was most important to my situation - he showed me a set of speakers he suggested and after I gave them a listen we agreed they would be best. Came back at a time they werent busy, just a few hours later, and got both installed for a reasonable price and about an hour and a half wait. New speakers are volumes louder than my old ones and I couldnt be happier. Will come again if the need arises!

Its been about a year since I first stepped foot in Auto Acoustics, when I brought in my new WRX for a complete sound system overhaul, sound deadening, window tint, and some interior lighting effects. I honestly could not be happier with the quality of the work, the equipment, and the customer service at this place. When I first got my car, I debated saving some money by buying the equipment and installing it myself with the help of some friends, but I have no regrets about letting these professionals work their magic. The were able to complete the entire initial installation for me in a single day, and that includes all the little things like re-wiring the back-up camera and the steering wheel stereo controls. The prices are fair, especially for the quality of equipment and work you get. Ive had friends who know the ins and outs of installing this kind of equipment compliment on how clean the job is. These guys really know what they are doing and know all the details about the equipment they are selling, which is some of the best you can get. Since the initial installation, Ive been back a half dozen times to make small adjustments and try out some other subwoofers. Every time Ive gone back, theyve been able to accommodate my needs, and help me make tweaks to sound deadening to make the system sound even more amazing, often without charging me any extra. Its nearing the year anniversary, and everything still sounds and looks amazing -- not a single blemish in the window tint, not a single problem with the electronics and wiring. If you are looking for sound system upgrades, window tint, or a full overhaul like I got, definitely give this place a shot. Incredible service ... especially for this aging non-teckkie who didnt know how to fix (or even competently use) her fancy Pioneer aftermarket system. Not only did the Auto Acoustics guys identify the actual problem within minutes (an unplugged microphone wire behind the dashboard), they did not try to convince me - their totally impressionable client whom they could have told anything - that I had an expensive problem that they should fix. Instead, incredibly, they told me the truth and waived any fee since all that was needed was to push the mike plug into place. I will recommend them only for these types of services to anyone anywhere in the Triangle.

Got a Pioneer AVH-2300NEX installed here in November 2018. They did a great job on the install and everything has been working perfectly. All of the existing steering wheel controls work as well as the backup camera, so the transition was seamless. The whole process was painless and straightforward.

I had subwoofers installed by someone else a few years ago. A couple of weeks ago, my radio quit working completely. I took it to Auto Acoustics and they had everything diagnosed and fixed in an hour, and it only cost $60. I would highly recommend this place.

The gentleman behind the counter scheduled me for a Saturday, said it would take about 2 hours, and it was done in 2 hours.I simply upgraded my radio to a bluetooth radio. He didnt try to upsell me on anything. Gave great recommendations based on my needs. And even predicted that I would want to have my steering wheel controls remain working.Everything works great and I feel like Im in a new car. Will definitely use again if I ever need to.

I recently purchased a new car and it did not have tinted windows. I have had tinted windows since I started driving and could not stand them not being tinted. I looked at several locations around where I live but the prices were all to high, and the work that I had saw was not that good. I was talking to a friend and he suggested that I call Auto Acoustics and speak to Roger. I called Roger and told him what I wanted and he said that it wouldnt be a problem. I came and got my windows done and they look FANTASTIC!!! I will never take my cars anywhere else. Auto Acoustics had got my business permanently.

These guys went all-out in fixing a really difficult problem with our Mercedes wagons radio (one of those overly integrated CD/satellite players that arent trivial to replace). They helped locate a refurbished model to save us 70% of the cost of a new one and made multiple trips to the supplier (in Greensboro) when there was an issue with the parts and/or the firmware in the car. They were absolutely amazing. [We dont have any family/friend connection to this business-- just a great customer experience and wanted to post it.]

I left the lights on in my husbands car when parking at the airport. After the parking folks jump started the car for me, the radio was dead. I took my car to auto acoustics, and they had it fixed and back to me in 5 minutes! To top it off, they wouldnt let me pay them for the repair. Gino did and amazing job on the window tint on my car! Pricing was great and much lower than other places. I was able to get an appointment within a few days of calling and he was finished in about an hour an a half. Everyone at the shop is very friendly and didnt mind me waiting for my car to get finished. This being the first time Ive ever had window tint, Gino made sure I knew all the dos and donts associated with it. He also told me if I had any issues to call him back. I am very satisfied with my tint and have recommended him on several occasions.

I am reviewing this now even though its been close to a month since I asked for a quote. So I have a 2012 Elantra that had ripples in the back window tint that was applied by some other company. I called AA for a quote and they were going to charge 120 to remove the back tint and 120 to add new tint back on. I found out about the tint removal fee after I dropped my car off which was highly absurd. I obviously said no since that price seemed unrealistic. I left AA and went to Sport Durst who originally put on my tint in 2012 when I bought the car new. They said that it will cost 100 to remove and replace the back window film. I accepted then the tint guy recommended that I replace the tint on all windows since tint fades. They said it would be an additional 40 for removal and new tint. I obviously said yes. To recap, I got all new tint applied to my 4 windows and rear window for $140.Auto Acoustics 1. Was going to charge me $240 for ONLY my rear window 2. Didnt upsell me to buy tint for the other 4 windows to make sure it all looked even.Conclusion: Im glad I wasnt suckered into buying from Auto Acoustics. Maybe Sport Durst was trying to make me happy and if so, they did a good job.

I just have to say its very rarely that you find a place that really values their customers.My tint job and my customer service experience was one of the best I have ever had.The owner himself spoke to me and resolved my issue, right then and there which I was not expecting. I never even asked to speak to him and they care that much about their customers.I moved here from another state and wasnt sure where to go to have my windows tinted, but I can tell you that If your looking for somewhere to go that you can trust to do the right thing, and do a good job, this is it.My 2015 camaro looks great now!I was planning on adding some sound upgrades and this is definately the first place Ill go!

These people know their stuff, take their time and are completely customer service oriented. I can not express how well they treated me. Not only that, I get a little sad now when I pull in my drive way cause I dont want to get out of my car. They hooked me up. After having been spoiled with a bose system for years, my new car didnt have the sound quality system I was used to and I was not even enjoying having a new car. I sure do now. I thought Id need a lot more done than they had to do to get me where I wanted to be but they knew exactly what I was talking about when I told them something was missing in my music and fixed it with one additional piece of equipment and I am a happy, happy girl.!!!!

Like many other reviewers, our experience with the crew of Phelan (sales), Stan & Rob (mechanic) was very positive. We were able to make an appt., and Phelan was punctual & friendly in waiting on us. After hearing our basic needs for a combination audio & HVAC system, Phelan & Co. recommended a relatively affordable & yet functional unit. The unit was efficiently installed, we received a brief tutorial on it, and we were out-the-door on schedule.Soon afterwards, our cars climate-control system exhibited a problem with the drivers-side A/C, and I returned to AA to have them inspect their work and see if they could account for the problem. After thoroughly examining the system, Rob concluded that our car likely coincidentally developed a drivers side A/C problem, independent of their installation process. I subsequently had our mechanic check the car, and he confirmed both Robs suspicions and the problem being unrelated to AAs work. So, I applaud Robs efforts in standing behind AAs job for us, and properly directing us for our needed repairs. So far, both the audio and climate control systems are performing very well!

Had them swap out an old audio cable in my car. That repair resulted in my phone not charging. Came back to have them fix it and it took them over a hour. The whole time, the employee said, hes almost done when I asked if I should come back later. Wasted an hour and a half standing in their store. Customer service is lacking.

The guys are the best!!! The dealer installed an after market navigation and bluetooth system to my Honda CR-V. A year and a half later the touch screen didnt work. The dealer is 2 hours away and a local dealer wont touch it. I had Auto Acoustics replace the original cd/radio unit plus add a bluetooth and the cost was less than if I had the dealer JUST put the original unit back in. They made sure everything worked well and they did it quickly and courteously. I will ALWAYS go to them for any auto audio or tinting issues.

Wish Id gone here first!I have a mid-hi level system with two JL audio V2 slash amps, a JL 10w6v2 sub, and Hybrid Audio Technologies Clarus 6.5 components. Since my original installation by Circuit City in 2008, I have tolerated my 300/2 amp going into thermal protection at relatively high SPL and coming back on after about 3-5 seconds with somewhat distorted sound. I visited a reputable installer in Raleigh who said I needed to re-wire my whole system because it needed 0 gauge wire and I was only using 4 gauge. He quoted $850.00 for the job. Umm, not so much. I then went to another popular auto technology installer on Glenwood and without so much as even knowing the real problem I was quoted a $250.00 fix. So I waited over a year from the first quote and asked my AAA tire installer if he knew an HONEST car audio installer. He recommended auto acoustics.I made the call and had my car in the Durham shop a week later. Within ten minutes the owner emerged from the installation bay and showed me an inline fuse that was woefully under-rated and had melted plastic on the conductive element. He replaced the fuse and $50.00 later my stereo finally worked as designed.These guys are honest. They are competent. And they do not search for problems you dont have. Highest recommendation. Go here before you go anywhere else.

Had my passenger window tint come off for the second time today. Highly disappointed in the quality. You get what you pay for. Avoid this place if you are an avid car or truck enthusiast. They also cut my window rubber which i did not complain about after 1st re tint.
