I was in a tough situation, far from home and late to work. Gene, at Subaman, took the time to work through the issue and explain what he thought was happening with my Forester. Ultimately, I was able to drive home with a new battery. Unfortunately the issue was more than the battery and I had to get the alternator replaced to fully resolve the issue. I am fairly mechanical-natured and appreciated the detailed explanation that Gene offered. If Im ever in the area again I will definitely take my Subaru back to him. As a vendor, I stumbled upon Subaman back around 2014. At that time my 2012 Outback was still in warranty but I kept this guy in mind because he was so engaging. Received his mailers. I stopped by last week (June 2018) and Gene stopped his work and gave my brakes a quick assessment. I will be scheduling him next month for brakes and a 60K service. Thanks Gene!Update: Last week (Sept 2018) I returned my Outback w/70K miles to Gene to replace the exhaust header and a full brake service. I am pleased with the quieter exhaust and the brakes are better than new.

Gene and Karl are the the bomb dot com! They are truly experts when it comes to Subaru and are a hidden gem in NE Ohio for Subaru maintenance. They have done an amazing job with my headgaskets and the customer service is outstanding. That being said I won’t be trusting anyone else but Subaman with my 09’Forester.

Gene is an awesome dude and absolutely knows the quirks around Subarus, even down to which specific bolts can seize easily. For the price of doing just one front wheel bearing at a dealer, he replaced my wheel bearing+front calipers+rotors. Clearly explained everything, no bs. Ive had Gene do head gaskets and a throwout bearing before as well and each time the car comes back better. This guy knows his stuff. Wish I could bring him to Wisconsin!

This past Wednesday the 24th, Gene finished diagnosing my Check Engine warning light that also had the traction alert, with blinking Cruise, and blinking Brake alert lights on.Previously on Monday the 22nd, Karl and Gene were able to finally read the Check Engine actual code while the alert lighting was still on and active. It turned out to be a totally different code than what was initially determine. Which was pointing to a more expensive security issue with my ignition key.They let me know UP FRONT when I brought my Outback to them, that they would need 24 hours to diagnose my INTERMITTENT Check Engine Warning Light and other alters.They stayed true to their word and diagnosed what turned out to be an electrical issue and fixed this problem by just needing to reroute the existing wiring. They did not need to charge for any replace parts because this was not needed due to their through diagnosis and confirmation of eliminating this particular Check Engine issue.Gene also thoroughly explained how they found the problem and they also showed me where and how they fixed this issue. They also answered all my question during this entire process.If I had another problem and they indicated that they could take care of what was brought to them, I would definitely have them do the work on my Outback again. No Problem ! I would recommend them for their patience and expertise on resolving an issue for any Subaru owner.

Subaman correctly fixed a Forester fuel line problem I have had for three years that a different shop didnt fix on multiple tries. Nov. 2019 Edit:,Tthey replaced a rear wheel bearing without an overnight stay.

I ran over a nail and was five minutes away and I called and they got me in right away and patched up my tire without an appointment. Every time I come I get excellent service.
