The worst staff. Dont follow instructions, have a condescending tone while taking orders too. This B literally asked me if I want my omelette without eggs. Also the omelettes are in the online menu, but not on the boards in store. I asked the server what kind of omelettes they have and she made a face and said the regular one.I ordered an omelette with a toasted bagel and they gave me a bagel with egg inside. Bagels are fine but the staff could be better.

The place is clean. The staff is attentive. The bagels taste good too!!!. I ordered a bakers dozen and a steak, egg and cheese on a plain bagel. Very happy I stopped by and will be going back for more. I hope to be a regular.

Ordered a bakers dozen of bagels which included two tubs of cream cheese plus several other things for a total of $51.00Which was delivered by doordash. When items received I counted the bagels there were only 10 and no cream cheeseCalled up said they put it in the bag. Now I know the driver will not steal 3 bagels and two tubs of cream cheese. So they never included them.

Bagels are not good. I was happy to find this place near me and based on reviews, I was excited. But to my disappointment, bagels were no good. Will not prefer visiting again.

Full disclosure, Im the original owner of this franchise, opening March 31, 1998. I work in the area so i will go to the store every so often. I love the look, the cleanliness and for the most part, the service.The reason for the 3 is because I know the bagels have changed. When I was trained, we joked about other places that made bagels, but really they were just rolls with holes. The last few times Ive been to this store, that is exactly what I got, a roll with a hole. Either the production of the dough or the baking process has changed. They are no longer the quality they used to be and thats a shame. Im thinking it was a corporate change.

As soon as I walk in to MB, i’m hit with the aroma of freshly baked bagels and piping hot coffee. Manhattan Bagel is well deservedly the best bagel shop in Jersey and its no coincidence its named after the greatest city in the world.The staff are incredibly kind and courteous, making sure you leave happy and full. Regardless of what you order here, I guarantee you will leave happy and full.My recommendations: absolutely everything on the menu

I eat here regularly and the staff is a group of some of the most friendly people Ive ever met. To couple that with how good the food is, Ill be visiting this location for years to come.Other Manhattan bagel locations just dont exhibit the same quality of food and should follow this locations example.

Everything was average. Average service. Average food. Above average speed at which my order was placed. (There was no one in the store) didn’t get a single thank you from the manager/owner who took my order as well as the cashier who cashed me out. Also tipped 3 dollars right in front of counter person and didn’t get a thank you- I only bring this up because o think the store takes the tips in return for employee meals. Common practice in food industry. Everything could be improved. Bagel itself was pretty good, bacon and eggs were below average.

I have been going here for years but lately the quality is going downhill. Bagels should be FRESH. We all know the taste of a day old bagel from having bagels at home. When I go to a bagel shop they should be made that day no exceptions. I don’t want a bagel from yesterday because you made too many or were trying to get a head start for Sunday orders. Unacceptable. And when people say “ easy on the cream cheese” please follow that.

Horrible experience one way or another each and every time.1st— pick up your phone please because otherwise it’s useless to have one. Just specific to this location.1st time experience: on the menu it says avacado but they slap on some nasty guac which essentially ruins a good breakfast sandwich.Second time experience: I placed my order for pick up 30 mins prior and then went to pick up the order and they said it wasn’t ready, so after patiently waiting another 10 mins I asked again and I was told not ready. After 20 mins and watching every customer come and go, I asked if she could tell me how long it’ll be and then upon giving her the name and details I was advised the online orders weren’t coming in, something was down. As furious as I was, I said ok and wasted 40 mins picking up food.3rd time experience and our last:We have attempted to call for 5 times and literally no one answers, and it just happens so it’s this location because every other chain is very reasonable. So unless there’s something done in management we have decided to never get breakfast from there.

The bagels we ordered werent toasted they tasted like old bagels which should be a crime Ive never been to a bagel place that doesnt toast their bagels for sandwiches. They also didnt make one order with egg whites only when we specifically specified for egg whites on one.

I was grateful to find a coffee/quick breakfast spot that was open in the area before 7 AM. Knocking one star because the woman at the register was unnecessarily rude. I think some people dont understand customer service.

For 1 egg and 4 piece of bacon sandwich they charged me $8. When I called to tell them that they are charging too much and Im not satisfied with my food. They didnt apologize for making me a flimsy sandwich I purchased and didnt offer anything. I will never order from this place again. I didnt want to give them 1 star.

Nothing special. Ordered a rye bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese. The bagel was average. Some more cream cheese would have been great; in some areas there was barely any.

Amazing classic breakfast bagel, quick service, overall great quick experience.

This is a community place. I dont just see this place as a store or bagel store. They are kind and human, warm and welcoming. Yes, they can make mistakes with orders but its not intentional. They acknowledge it too. And when they do, they fix this on the spot or whenever you bring it to there attention. You can even choose who you want to make your sandwich. I have seen other bagel/ pastry stores but this one is different because of their kindness.

I been visiting family for the holidays I went to this bagel shop the BAGELS ARE AWESOME theres one guy there is so nice hes always happy, smiles all the time theres a lady wears glasses I havent seen her in a while shes so friendly and knows how to make a costumer feel welcome and her personality is awesome .last time I went there the cook Guy he had a little attitude when I ask him a question hes rude then he goes the those ladys and start talking hes not friendly at all ! hopefully when I go back n see those two they are awesome 😎

I have been coming to this Manhattan bagel for years ever since they first opened up and I have to say I am extremely disappointed with the quality of the food and quality of the staff it seems as if everything went downhill maybe there was New Management if thats the case theyre doing a terrible job this was my childhood spot to get bagels every morning but not anymore food is mediocre now years ago it was superb sad to see what happened to this place

Love this place! They open nice and early in the morning, great for breakfast and coffee! Service is quick, staff is friendly, plenty of parking spots. They make everything fresh and in front of you. My personal favourite is the Salted Bagel with Sausage, Egg and Cheese.

I was pleasantly surprised when I stopped in the Manhattan Bagel Saturday morning after my walk. I only had my discover card, driver’s license and a coupon tucked in my phone case. I ordered the value pack for a dozen bagels and pulled out my discover card to pay only to discover they don’t accept discover. I told the young lady I would have to come back because it was the only card I brought with me but she insisted I take the bagels and call her later because she recognized me from the other times I’d visited the store. I was so appreciative. And thankfully there’s a chase bank across the street so with my license I was able to withdraw cash from my account and pay for my bagels right away. I’m still amazed at the kindness of the young lady and impressed she actually recognized me as a frequent customer. Oh and the bagels of course are great!!

I know better than to expect anything different from this place so buyer beware. Your order will likely be wrong and the woman answering the phone will likely ‘forget’ that youre on hold. Ghetto, 1 star.

Be careful buying bagels by the dozen. It seems they like to short you on your purchase, make sure you count what you ordered before paying and leaving the store. Dont go with coupons, they really hate when you use them and they make sure you know it too.

This place has the best bagels in Metuchen. I always go here when I ride my bike. Freshly baked jalapeños bagel with cream cheese and the pure bliss of coffee.... Hmmmm..staff is super nice. Awesome place in all. If you are walking running on the bike trail in the morning... visit for breakfast you will not be disappointed.

This Manhattan bagel is great! The staff in the morning is extremely friendly, and customer focused. They go above and beyond their job to make sure that the customers are satisfied. Especially the one staff member named Dylan. He memorizes your order, makes it fresh, and is always in the best mood!I am never disappointed with the food or service. I ordered a couple of items for breakfast from Doordash at this location. Bagels, bacon egg and cheese sandwiches, and some orange juice. The quality of the sandwiches as well as the bagels were amazing.... but because of the carelessness of how the order was put together and false advertising... I cant justify giving it more than 2 stars. Even with specific instructions of which bagels I wanted, and paid service to have them cut, I recieved random flavors I did not ask for. Fresh squeezed orange juice is FALSELY advertised!!!! Clearly states on cup that it is just water with added orange concentrate. I was also given orange juice mixed with pineapple when I ordered just orange juice.Just my two cents. If you are out of stock on some items, kindly reach out to your customer and ask if theyd prefer having it replaced with xyz. It shows effort, and itll help give them something they actually want.

This location is a great place . The two men there : one with a beard and the other clean shaven and older are tremendous individuals and very polite and get the job done in great fashion. Negative issue is that the lady that is there is not pleasurable and always talking about other people and not focusing on her job. She also always is barking orders to the guy with the beard in front of customers. That is a no-no in the business world. She need to work on her customer service skills and worry about her own business

The frontline staff who made my bagel were amazing - friendly and helpful in making my decision and the bagel was great (Nova Lox). The manager/owner who eventually rang me up after counting pennies on the counter was rude and cold. He did not apologize for making me wait until he finished, and the only thing he said to me was the price and where to pay with my card. Will go back if in the area but wont go out of way to be treated so rudely again.

Passing through on our way into Brooklyn and stopped for breakfast. Fantastic bagels! I had the rye bagel with egg, cheese, and pork roll! I liked that they didnt over cook the pork roll and they loaded so much onto the sandwich!! It was so good!

I have been coming here since I was ten years old every Saturday and Sunday. The community oriented atmosphere is great. I could sit there and drink my coffee for hours. The young staff is always brightens up the days of guests with small talk and friendly service. The bagels and sandwhiches are delicious which keep me coming back to this day. Now, I will start by saying that I truly love the bagels at Manhattan Bagels. However, I don’t appreciate being taken for a fool. I ordered a Thintastic Bagel Avocado BLT please note the name that’s important comes with a tomato spread. The young man that made my sandwich took his time and this is not his fault at all. I did notice that there was no avocado in my sandwich as it was being made. I said where is my avocado and he said we use avocado spread ???? What ?, the picture shows avocado and it’s a $6.99 sandwich are you serious ? That is NOT what is described or advertised. This is not a cheap sandwich, extremely disappointing And false advertising

I asked for a steak, egg and cheese on the wrap around 8:00am in the morning as a breakfast, unfortunately they charged as a lunch meal with a side in which they didn’t give me the side. I asked for the receipt and they gave one receipt as 8.48$, I said that’s not what they charged me. They charged me more than that. They look it up again and now it was the exact receipt, which was charged 10.58 $ the receipt was for a Manhattan cheesesteak in which I looked up in their menu board and it stated that it came with a side. I’m writing this because this is not the first time it happened with me at this location and I believe it happens frequently.

Been coming here for 2 years now and found it good. I get my bagels for breakfast and its been good for most of the times and they do make small changes to your diet needs.

Bagels are great. I am a big fan of the Einstein bagels Jalapeno Salsa cream cheese, the one here is not as good as that but still tastes good.

I came in today and asked for two egg n cheese for sandwiches. And a bagel with butter and jelly .He almost dropped my egg on the floor. Instead the cheese fell so he out the egg back on the griddle and melted new cheese on it.I took it home and took one bite.It tasted really off and bad. I ended up throwing all of it out.2-3 hours later now... Im vomitting and have really bad stomach pains. I see the egg come out. And Im pretty sure I have food poising.Eat at your own risk.

I love these bagels! Sometimes I bring them to work for everyone and they always ask where did I get the bagels from because they love them!

Service here is lackluster at best. They get your order right 50% of the time. The other 50% it seems they just give you what they want to give you. On the flip side the coffee is pretty good but thats not enough for me to go back, at least while its under the same ownership.

Coffee and bagel selection is great. Couple that with friendly service and you have a good deal. My wife and i there almost every mornng.
