Just occurred to me I haven’t reviewed Backyard Bike Geeks. Cameron is a terrific young man, knowledgeable, helpful and ready to help. I decided to see if a 70 years old I could still ride a bike - it’s been over 20 years. Well, he put an old Trek together for me after listening to my needs. It worked I am riding and although I have moved to something a bit easier (8 speeds instead of 21) it was the Backyard Bike Geeks that helped me move forward. If you have any bike needs give these guys a call! You will be glad you did! I am!

Just moved to San Diego and wanted a bicycle for transportation. Went and saw Cameron at Backyard Bike Geeks and had a great experience. Cameron gave me the run down on what bicycle would fit my needs and although he did have a bike for me right then he said he would make some calls and check around. Got a text the next day from him and was on a bicycle by the end of the week. Strongly recommend that you go see this guy for all your bicycle needs!!!

I am new to bike riding and Cameron did a wonderful job of explaining to me all of the features I should look for. He set me up with a great bike that fit my needs without trying to oversell me on anything. The whole experience was fun and it felt like I was getting good advice from a friend and not a salesman trying to make a pitch. He is passionate about bikes and it shows in the work that he does!

Cameron is amazing! If you are in the area and looking for a new bike shop no need to look any further! This place is a hidden gem. I recently got a used bike and sent it in to get some work done. His communication skills are awesome, he is extremely nice.. while keeping it professional. He not only gave me amazing pricing but he also got my bike back to me days earlier than he said! Cameron went as far as cleaning my bike, talk about caring about your customers. He even replaced my handle grips free of charge... this was all in all the best experience I have had with a bike shop. I will be coming to Backyard Bike Geeks with all of my bike issues in the future, 10/10 recommended. Thank you Cameron!

This place is the best. Cameron was so very friendly. Had me bring in the bike, as I was having an issue with the front tire. He fixed it in no time. Identified the problem and let me know what to look out for in the future. Good knowledgeable people working hard, and friendly while doing it. I know where I am going for my bike needs. 👍

Awesome work....my kids need the brakes replaced and adjusted on 2 youth mountain bikes. The work was done well, and quickly. We recoewed the concerns, after a quick look over, 2 days later Inget a call saying all is repaired. Im chap, and stopped around and the Backyard Bike Geeks are worth the price (they were also cheaper then other vendors).

Cameron very good and knowledgeable. Took care of my needs at a fabulous price. No pressure at all.

I highly recommend this guy. He is nice, proffesional, and gives decent prices. No need to wait 2/3 weeks like some of the stores ask you to do so. You should give him a call.

Cameron was spot on with great customer service. He was very attentive in communicating with me about my bikes with honest and upfront pricing. My two beach cruisers needed a full work up after being garaged for over a year with multiple issues. He even offered pick up and drop off at low cost. My bikes were back in under the amount of time quoted. I’m very happy with the service and attention to detail. I will be contacting Backyard Bike Geeks for all my bike needs in the future!

I got a bike recently and was able to put it together mostly but felt like something was off and wanted to get it double checked before I started riding and something happened. I called a couple stores and no one was doing tune ups or bike checks so I did a google search and found this place. So happy I did. I would rather support small businesses and have someone local and more personal I can go to. I called on a Monday and dropped it off same day within 10 mins. Cameron quoted me a weeks time and a fair price. He was extremely nice and made me feel comfortable with good customer service. I live right up the street so I was super excited. Got the bike back in a week and they double checked everything and fixed the gears, the brakes, put air in the tires and just made sure it was good to go since I had gotten it delivered in a box and wasn’t quite sure how to do it properly. I would definitely and highly recommend them. Cameron even came and dropped it off for me. I live up about 15 stairs so it is hard to maneuver and get it up and down myself. Thank you!

Called Cameron today after finding this business on a google search. He answered right away, on a Sunday, and offered me a same day appointment, which I took. Cameron was extremely helpful and because the help I needed for my sons bike was not major, he was able to assist me while I waited. Good luck getting that from any other bike shop in a 200 mile radius! I will be recommending this business to anyone I know and all of the parents of my kids friends. Cameron is very nice and did an excellent job on my bike. He fixed my tire cause someone put it on backwards and tested them to make sure there wasnt any holes. My gears didnt work properly he fixed that cleaned chain/brakes and everything else. Im so excited and confident my bike was tuned up properly and I got my bike back in just a couple of days and am VERY happy with what it cost me. I recommend this to everybody.. Needed disc brake adjustment on bike. Service was fast and was shown I needed a new disc rotor (bent) and wheel truing. Nice that the shop was in the neighborhood. Arrangements made for another appointment to address remains problems.

I was having serious trouble trying to get the tube replace because the road tire that I had put on recently was super tight. Backyard Bike Geeks quickly replaced the tube and I was back on my bike in a day. And they cleaned my bike which was a unexpected surprise.

Did an awesome job repairing one bike and getting two others ready in a super fast time frame!! Very decently priced and friendly, willing to point the way to others to help you out if they cant do something for you!

These guys are awesome. They are available anytime I need them to drop off the bikes and they fix them up very well and take accountability for issues they didn’t even cause like a stripped gooseneck from Walmart.They even delivered the bikes back to my house! So far I’ve had them build three new bikes and refurb three bikes and they were awesome with each one of them. Thanks guys! Sorry it took a few weeks to do this review. I appreciate you.

I found this delightful little business while doing a Google search. I gave them a call and received a fast quote and appointment to drop off my sons bike for assembly. The estimated turn around was 4 days but I received a call that the bike was ready in two. Wow! When I picked it up my husband and I had a chance to speak to the 13 year old business owner and his father. Great family, great values, and excellent customer service. The elder son manages the calls and appointments over the phone. Very friendly, professional and responsive. Honestly, a wonderful experience. I will definitely be back.

Found this place doing a google search. Called and explained my issue with the bike I have to Cameron. He quoted me a fair price and a 7 day turn around. It was finished 3 days early! Great place and would recommend to anyone in need of your bike repair needs.

Cameron is amazing!!! He goes above and beyond and I would give him more stars if I could! My daughter’s brake handle broke. He had one in stock and was able it fix it while I waited. If you need anything bike related, he’s the guy!! Don’t go anywhere else!

Backyard Bike Geeks did a great job assembling a new tricycle that I purchased for my dad. They even did a pick up and drop off of the bike. They kept me informed through the process and were very professional. The quality of the their workmanship is superb and their fees are very reasonable. BYBG saved the day!! Just got a new bike in shipped to me and Cameron was super helpful getting it tuned up and ready for years of reliable riding! He gave me a couple pointers on how to adjust my derailer because the cable will stretch.Looks like I found a family bike mechanic!

Oh man, where to begin. Well, I ordered a bike on Amazon. Men’s schwinn wayfarer hybrid Bike. The bike came in a box. A very broken box. I called up Cameron at Backyard Bike Geeks, and he said to bring it over. I brought it over, took it out of the box, the bike was shot. Like un-ridable as is. It looked like someone took a sledge hammer to it, and maybe a disgruntled employee did, we’ll never know. In any case, Cameron said he could fix it, but needed some extra parts. Would obviously be more expensive than the very affordable quote to put it together. Long story short, I called Amazon to return it. Not even they wanted it. They let me keep the bike, and gave me a 100% refund. In the meantime, Cameron advised he has some other used bikes he worked on that I might be interested in. He has a backyard full of really nice bikes. If you are in the market for a used bike, go there and take a look first. A bunch of used bikes for a fair and reasonable price. I’m sure they have something for you. So I got a Diamondback Mountain Bike. That bike is in great shape. He did some work on it, rides great. When I told him about the junk bike from Amazon, he asked me what I wanted to do with that one? He advised he could fix it, but before he gave me a quote, wanted a fair deal for both he and I. He called me back and gave me the quote foe the Diamondback and to build the junk bike. Man, I can’t tell you how reasonable he was. You can tel he is looking out for the customers. If you want to go somewhere where you will feel comfortable with the price and the quality? Go here, 100% the best, he has a loyal customer for life. And you know why? Because when I went to pick up the junk bike, it was in picture perfect condition, but not after hours upon hours of work. The thing didn’t even come with pedals. The brakes were toast, the fender bent, part of the frame broken. He had to do some serious work on this thing, and you know who suggested paying more money? Me. I had to mention it to him, and even then, he said to just give him a small amount more. I never leave reviews, but I had to for these guys. They have a family owned and run business where they go above and beyond for their customers. I’ve already shared my experiences with my friends, and now I’m sharing with you. If you are anywhere in San Diego, it’s worth taking a ride over to see these guys. 5 stars no doubt. Thank you Cameron, both bikes are great, I’ll stop on by when they need some maintenance.

I bought an Chinese e-bike and the tires and inner tubes were low quality. Cameron helped me to replace both of those and install better quality items. He did a great job & a good communicator too.

You guys should check this guy out! He fixed all of our 3 bikes and not for a high price and didn’t take that long to fix them and he also gave my son a free repair of the back wheel he’s really nice I recommend him!

Very good job. For a kid his age, Im very impressed not only with the work I got in return, but the time it took. He is extremely good when it comes to repairing and if I had any questions when he was working, it did not take long at all. If anyone needs a quick fix on their bike, I highly recommend this place.
