Prices were nothing special. Hadnt checked it out in several years. Used to be known for good deals. Many items not priced.. no price checkers.. Left with nothing. Wont be back.

This big lots location is well stoked and easy to navigate the isles no clutter.The outdoor furniture selection is great and lots of back to school stuff.Staff is very helpful with the merchandise offered.Parking lot sometimes gets crowded.

This place was really nice and good prices,the cashier was really nice young lady as well.

We love the different things you can find here to buy its alit of fun.

The price is here used to be cheap but now everything is pretty much marked up so that its not much less than Walmart or target.. Not to mention the employees here are pretty rude and rerude and on top of it they cant manually type in a EB T card its really pointless to come here for me

The Big Lots in El Cajon must have had a run on everything this weekend. Hardly any kitchen equipment.The Big Lots on Lake Murray will NEVER see a dollar from my wallet again. I witnessed the outrageous prejudice action from one of the cashiers since 1964. That young moron should not be working with the public.

It is time to restock the shelves. There is no reason for the shelves to be so empty. The crazy hoarding people were doing at the beginning of the pandemic is over. If we are expected to live a certain way then things need to brought back to some sort of normalcy

You make it very difficult to redeem my points at checkout. It should be attached to my phone number when entered. I also dont like to have to say what my phone number is for the clerk to enter. I do spend a lot of money at your store and everyone is nice. Fix the problem please.

We bought daybed and paid off all when we came to pick it up the daybed we waited about 1 hr just to pick up our furniture. The agents were called through the radio to help us but they ignored. Worst experience ever.

Hey guys its been a while anyway the big lots in El Cajon is pretty decent store. I went in closer to closing time and the store was clean even though there were a lot of people inside. Unfortunately with the pandemic they could only allow so many people before they had to make people wait outside. but as soon as someone left out they let people in so not too long of a wait. Seems like big lots has changed over the years or should I say over the past year to two years just with the zoning of their items so if you havent been in a while be prepared to look for something if you dont feel like asking the staff happy shopping and happy holidays!

Found a mattress set for a great price!!! Martin was also a great help.

They have the items that I am looking for and the price is very good.

After being told that the El Cajon had the item and they didnt. Interior was dirty and run down in both stores the la Mesa and el Cajon.

I havent been in here for about 3 years! It was great though. One of the clerks was taking a break and she remembered me! Who would know? Their was hardly anyone in the store. Everyone was wearing a face mask. So, no problem with social distancing! They had a sale on Crystal Geyser Water!! 4 for $10! We then left and was not in the store for very long. The cashier was very friendly and nice!! That is great during these difficult times!!

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE

Im not around these parts of town, but today, i stopped at Big Lots Store, Main St., El Cajon, CA. The main entry was a bit disorganised as some displays needed fixing & restocking. I walked towards the middle of the store and did not find much of a sporting goods display that i was looking for. Looks a bit cluttered but possibly due to low staffing. I did find some grocery items which took a while to get through the check-outs as only one cashier was available. Must have been a hectic day for them, and i shall visit again soon to see if it has improved.

Things to get are hit and miss, but almost always I find some kind of bargain. The staff are the sweetest people around. They actually said they were worried I had gotten ill,because they hadnt seen me!

Its a Big lots. Its not messy or particularly spectacular. The staff is always friendly.

It looked like they recently moved the shelves and forgot to clean the floor.

Its a little sad inside? Lines are slow, but things are inexpensive and theres lots of good kitchen items. They even sell couches!

Went there as I do monthly and they had 3 shopping carts for the whole store. I usually spend close to 300$ and no way to carry my purchases. I have had this happen many times before and was told they got stolen. I guess they do not need my money unless I only buy 5 items or less. I asked them to at least sell some small carts to the public and was laughed at.

I was shopping for a mattress and laid on every one. The one Iiked had a sign on it tat said in stick... it was not. The 2nd one I liked was also not in stock. Went back today to get a cabinet that I saw yesterday and it was also not in stock and either was the one next to it. I am just wondering why they have s much furniture displayed that they dont have in and also not coming in on the next shipment. The sales associate tried to be helpful though.

They have a lot of hidden gems. Some items are priced really low like aisle food, make up, cleaning goods and health & beauty products but I noticed all the home stuff has gone up considerably. Not the same Big Lots like before they started selling furniture. This is for Big Lots in general not this particular store. Very clean, well organized & very friendly & helpful workers...

Outrageously long line. The woman in front of me in line paid for my small order so that she could do a favor for the 20 people in the slow moving line. The restrooms were locked as well. Thanks to the lady who purchased my order... Merry Christmas right back at her.

I went to Big Lots to go get some stuff for my puppies. Got these cute stuff animals for them from the Dog guy Cesar Millan for a great price. He has some good toys for puppies. And my puppies love them so I came back for some more. And you can also find training pads for them for a great price too.

The manager ‘Monica’ actually called the police on a woman of color trying to return a fan. So we all had to deal with the company of the El Cajon police while we are trying to buy holiday decorations. Montica’s complete disregard for the safety of her shoppers is disturbing. I call and spoke with her and the situation got much worse. If you are anything other than a cis white person stay away from this place.

I love Big Lots. Often they have items which you use everyday at infinitely better prices than in your favorite store. Its always worth a look.

Great prices sometimes service can stink but most of the time prices are great its where I used to do a lot of my holiday shopping

Arrived @ 8:45 PM, Sunday evening. Was able to find items on my list. My terminology of sliding in before closing. Have a lot of items a person may want, I was being frugal and smart. Impressed with pricing as well as quality. One Item I purchased was over the door hooks, I was happy to find this item.

The bathroom was not available, I had to leave to soon, I still had more shopping to do

Great store...l wanted some Arts and Crafts Construction paper, scotch tape, and some ink pens and they had everything!!! They were not going to have those items anymore but l got everything l needed!!! The cashiers directed me directly to it and they answered all my questions...truly a great experience in San Diego!!!

Went in looking for folding chair. Asked employee where they were or if they had any. She did not know! I finally looked around myself and found them. They were not marked. Had to wait at register for price check.

Cheap yet effecient

Every worker I talked to was very pleasant and helpful. They always have interesting things at the Big Lots for reasonable prices. I enjoy coming here because I find items for my household I wouldnt find anywhere else.

The customer service is terrible. I tried to talk to the manager, he yelled and said to wait. The wait to talk to the manager was 45 minutes and the line was 20 minutes. There was it one line open. The manager was also helping the same person for an hour. 😒

Well I love big lots but compared to the only other one Ive been to in Poway, I have to give this store 5 stars!!! ✋ down an awesome store it has furniture! I mean some of the stuff is cheap like Ikea but overall this store is well stocked generally, sometimes the personal care isle is empty like body wash etc but overall nice employees clean and good location easy to get in and out 👌

I love Big Lots it has great prices I bought my auntie sectional sofa with a huge ottoman from there and its so comfortable it was a great price plus I bought the nice wood coffee table with the two end tables great deal on that my drink called ice is $0.25 less then the 99 cent store lots of good things there I would give it five stars if it wasnt for the fact that is always so hot in that store and I cant wait to get out of there. I have MS and the heat is very painful for me and even the cashier said its always hot in there and that makes customers want to hurry up and go I would have shopped even longer if it wasnt so hot inside but a great store

I visit this store frequently as I now live nearby. The El Cajon store doesnt have the square footage of other Big Lots stores Ive visited in San Diego, Orange and L.A. Counties; but it can boast of its superior guest relations and customer service. (Superior by comparison to her sister Big Lots stores.)I am politely greeted as I enter; and am offered assistance without solicitation. It is very disappointing to see the EXTREMELY FAST TURN-OVER of Associates. Just after you find a competent, productive associate that you can trust, .......theyre gone before long.I will also add here that the selection of Goods at Big Lots is deteriorating. The tool selections and electronics selection is VERY LIMITED at best. I would question this management decision; as it appears to not be motivate by Income per Sq/Ft of shelf space. I also question the limited power given to its Local Store Managers. These men and women are inn the best position to know the community they serve. Yet, for some strange reason, The Store Managers authority is all but non existent.

I like this store. Got some DVDs for $5ea.

Sasa is an AMAZING, HARDWORKING WOMAN! I just purchased this couch on 05/02/2020 and man i was blown away with customer service! She called multiple locations to see if they had the couch i wanted. When it came to loading up the furniture, i was expecting atleast two men with a dolly to come out, it was Sasa. She came and loaded the heavy furniture in my truck. This strong woman did not complain, she loaded it up like the strong woman she is and i applaude her ! Sasa keep grinding and thank you for your OUTSTANDING service during these critical times!

There were too many employees, the last time I was there... However, not helpful enough... Usually its great... I didnt like that werent any more cards from American Greetings.... However, its usually good...The last time I was the which was like last week, there were no customers.... Furthermore, sometimes there are rude employees... Usually the night crew....

Its not so much the store but the employees I had the HONOR to meet a guy named jimmy or Jim I kinda didnt get the name right (sorry) hes an angel great man people like him are what keep stores like this running, he has a great attitude and I hope big lots would reward him with a higher position within the company. This guy made my whole week I really appreciate what he did for my family. I hope he reads this and I really wanna thank you so much.

I was disappointed when I when there tonight. Everything I went there for was either not there at all or stock was extremely limited. There was really nothing in the womens hair and beauty which was everything I was looking for and know big lots to have all the time. They seem to be more interested in getting stock out for Christmas .

If I could give them a 0 I would don’t waste your money buying cheap poor quality furniture at this place. I purchased a living room set last October it hasn’t even been a year and they’re all ripped. I purchased the 3 year protection plan and when I filed a claim they denied it. What a disappointment. I will never buy anything from this cheap place again.

I always liked this biglots because is big but is not crazy crowded you can shop calmly with no one rushing you and you can find a variety of stuff at cheap price you can even find furniture, I like decorations from here and I few things here and theres plenty space for parking.

The cleanliness of this store has slipped over the last few years.The staff is friendly but there are never enough checkers. The best time to visit here is evening a couple hrs before closing.
