I have been going here for years, and let me just say that Liz is an amazing person, mechanic and employee. She is very knowledgeable in her field and excels in customer service. Liz is an amazing person who takes the time with her customers and takes the time to fully engage in the best available prices, situation and next step procedures.This shop is a must to go to and i would highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for auto service. If there were more stars I would give it to them! First time using Coronado and always concerned about using any new place. Well, they have me for life. Liz is amazing, knowledgeable, personable and just knows her stuff. I came in to have my A/C blower replaced and to look at my battery and alternator.She kept me informed, gave me a fair price and actually did more diagnostic work than I expected to try to solve the problem. Her team was also kind to me.I asked about exhaust repair, she referred me to another shop. She then said let them know she sent me and if there was any problem to let her know she would handle it.In short, I felt safe, taken care of and all at a fair price.Well done Team Coronado!

Have been going here for about 10 years now. Liz is awesome and tells you what you need to take care of immediately as well as what can be put off for a little while. Straight upfront and reasonable pricing. They are very busy but if you get there early for an inspection of oil change you can usually get in and out. Ive serviced 5 different vehicles there and always appreciate their honesty and quality of work. If there is something that is beyond their scope they either find a consultant or refer you to someone else that is trusted and reasonably priced. Actually took a new vehicle there and they researched my issue and told me what it was before the dealership and their techs could figure it out.

After replacing a fuel pump and paying 640dls they left the car with the TCM (Transmission Control Module) not working. All dashboard lights are on, loss of power, vehicle doesnt go past 50mph, Parking assistant not working. And they cannot fix that issue because they dont know how to reboot the TCM. They may be able to do small repair jobs but DO NOT take your vehicle there for bigger jobs. They failed to trouble shoot correctly and had a limited knowledge on computer reprogramming and repair. Furthermore there was an additional unauthorized charge from them that they didnt know about and never got refunded for that. Unprofessional. Unknowledgeable. Take your vehicle elsewhere. Id give 0 stars if I could. Car came out worse than when it went in.

So killing 2 birds with one stone seems to be my motto this week. Took the kids to gymnastics open gym for $5 each kid at El Paso Gymnastics and realized after Im due for an oil change. The gym had my number on file and assured me my kids were being watched over by instructors and I made my way to the car.I usually go to Costco for my oil change but since theres only one in El Paso, the wait is usually horrendous. I saw that the gym faced a autobody shop (Coronado Autobody) and I walked there and asked the mechanics if they had time for an oil change. They explained I had to go around to the front office and ask the receptionist, so I did.Wow, what I witnessed was CARE: Liz the receptionist asked and remembered every single client that walked in and what state of repair or disrepair their car was in. I felt like I was in good hands and then I spied a BEST OF YELP 2008 certificate on their wall, and my decision was validated. I went up and asked about the oil change not sure if they would take me 20 mins before closing. She was going to ask, but the nice mechanic came in and told her they would take me.Their prices were fair $40 for a standard oil change and $60 for full synthetic. They got me in and out of there in 20 mins. and it wasnt bells and whistles but seeing repeat clients and how much they trusted them made me feel sure they took care of my car as well. I went to get my motorcycles inspection at this shop early in the morning to be the first one to get there. When I got to the registration place I find out that the man inputted the incorrect VIN number in the inspection. I come back to the shop to get it fixed, and the man was saying that he used the VIN number that was on my insurance which obviously he read incorrectly. I expected him to correct the inspection immediately and send me on my way due to the fact that it was his mistake, but instead he told me he couldnt do anything about it right now because he had to inspect 3 cars that got there before me.

Very very trust worthy place! I had my classic car checked for a harmonic balancer. The mechanic said the one it had on was in good condition and not the issue. The woman at the front fest was nice enough to refer me to a shop where I was able to call and get everything figured out. It was about a two hour wait to get my car in but we’ll worth the wait. They were nice enough not to charge me the infamous “diagnostic fee” that so many other shops brutally enforce. Thank you so much! Definitely my preferred mechanic shop.

Charlie Clark Nissan Multi-Point Inspection showed 3 months in a row that Brake Fluid “Requires Immediate Attention”, however, it had been replaced back in March 2020. I went back to talk to Liz at Coronado Auto Repairs and showed those the reports. She did 3 tests: bubble, moisture, and one more test to see the brake fluid is bad or not. The result showed nothing is wrong and fluid is VERY clear. I was amazed how much she did for me car! You can trust her and her shop a lot! I’ve been coming here almost last 4 years and I strongly recommend you its service and the MOST important things is “honesty”!!

We really like this place. They have taken really good care of our mechanical needs, and if they cant, they can refer you to other great businesses who can. They are busy almost all the time, so I recommend calling ahead if possible.

I am on a limited budget, more limited than most I assume especially during all of this. I needed front brakes and rotors, rear brakes, a serpentine belt, my rack and pinions tightened and motor mounts on our 2011 Buick Enclave. I told Liz my budget for repairs and she let me know what was most important and what could be done. There should be more people like Liz in this world. Half the cost of a major retail mechanic and ten times the service and efficiency.

When the lady that runs the show (Liz) knows just as much as the mechanics, then you know you got a great auto shop. I was impressed by her and the professionalism of the mechanics. Very friendly and accommodating shop. They even have refreshments, candy, a good selection of reading material, and a TV to entertain you while you wait. I think they can drive you home if you live close by, but you may have to ask though. They also have loner cars, or at least they did when I visited, because I had to get to work. Close to the freeway and easy to find. Its a convenient location with restaurants, convenient store, bank, and a Albertsons close to get food if you get hungry. I feel theyre honest business because I compared a lot before I visited them and they painted a good picture of my repairs and the price was good. They are efficient.Edit: just wanted to add that they do stand behind their work.

This shop is the best. If you need a good HONEST place to take your ride, go here. Always on point. My husband and I are always pleased with their work. These people dont waste time. They get you taken care of and back on the road. We have dealt with dishonest mechanics in the past. My husband used to work in a mechanic shop so he has experience with cars. Had an emergency where the skirt of my car on the right side was falling off and I had a meeting that I needed to go to and I rushed over to Coronado auto repair with a faint hope that they could help fix it soon. I drove over there and asked what they could do, and they helped immediately. Instructed me about the clips on the skirt and how they were broken but then offered me a quick and easy solution and they bolted down the skirt from underneath so that I wouldn’t have a bolt sticking out of the side. They were very thoughtful, helpful and were able to teach me some things about the car. I was in and out of there in less than ten minutes. They were fantastic.

Took my car to have radiator leak fixed. They charged me for a new radiator and a new coolant reservoir. It took them about 6 days to complete the work. Coolant leaked the next day. Took the car back to be fixed again. It took them another week to fix their own installation. Car leaked again for the third time, took it back once again and took over a week to repair. Received zero updates on what was happening. Bad customer service all around. Found more issues with my car after visiting this shop. Beware taking your own vehicle. High costs involved and very long wait times to get your vehicle back. Never got the leak fixed either. I do not recommend this shop at all.

I was driving from Austin, Tx to California when a wheel bearing started humming very loudly as I was passing through El Paso. At 1:00 I called Coronado and asked if they could work on my car. They got me in immediately, diagnosed and repaired it within 2 hrs, and the cost was very reasonable. They are life savers! Mil gracias Coronado!

I chose this place based on reviews and Im glad I did. I enjoyed my experience from beginning to end, and the prices are great. They are so good that they are always busy and sometimes hard to get through on the phone, but other than that they are awesome. They are my mechanic from now on!

Took my PT Cruiser in to get a power steering pump replaced and another gasket fixed. The next day, while their mechanic was test driving my car, it was hit by another vehicle. Neither Liz or or anyone from the shop called me to inform me my car had been damaged. Its now been 3 days, and still no call. If I could give minus stars on this I would. I should have been the first person called when this happened, or called the next morning. I dont know how they get so many good reviews, because to be honest they dont deserve it. Their repair work and knowledge is good, but overall professionalism is very poor. They leave vehicles sitting for days in the elements, and when you do get your car back its a mess. After this mess is straightened up with my insurance company Im finding another mechanic.

Cant say enough positive things about them. Honest, reasonable and very professional. They tell u what your car need now and what it may need in the future. They did a complete brake job (replace pads and rotors) for almost half what Brake Masters wanted to charge me and my car was in & out within hours. Ive used this shop for a long time and have had great service from them. Last year they ordered a $200 part for me, installed it, and it didnt solve the problem. They then found that actual cause was a small leak in a vacuum hose. So they put the original part back in and charged me only for the vacuum hose. I would never have known that the $200 fix was unnecessary, except that they were completely up-front and transparent about the whole thing.

Very unprofessional. I would give them less then one star if I could. They gave me a quote and when they couldnt find the parts for that price they didnt call me back with the info they just stopped answering my call and when they finally did answer they were upset about the price they quoted me and said it wasnt even enough from the get go. They gave me that quote I didnt make the quote up myself. If your taking your car here I would expect very unprofessional service, lies and a good amount of run around.

I had a transmission issue with leaking fluid. I had my vehicle towed there with the company they recommended ASAP Towing, they showed up within 30 min and were quick and easy to deal with. Once at the shop they said it would be a couple hours before they could look at it. I went home and they call with a diagnosis after about an hour. I felt very happy with their recommendations and prices. In and out all in the same day, I couldnt be happier. Great job folks. I found a new mechanic and I dont even mind thats its on the complete other side of town from where I live.

Great place when you can get ahold of them

My wife & I were traveling from Austin, TX to Los Angeles, CA. As we came into El Paso the power steering started leaking fluid, so we stopped for the night and looked on line for a shop where we could take the car. Turns out that Coronado was close by where we were staying & had the best on line ratings in town, so in the morning we drove over. On first impression of the shop was that they were very busy, all bays full, cars behind each bay & a parking lot full of cars. After explaining that we were on the road & needing to get to Los Angeles for my parents 70th wedding anniversary, they checked the car out and yes, it did need a new steering rack. With the number of vehicles around, I figured we needed to take it somewhere else, but when Liz said that they could have it ready the following morning & at a fair price I was ecstatic! I told them to replace the power steering hoses while they were at it. Next day the car was ready as promised and they only replaced one of the hoses because they other 2 hoses had already been replaced. Coronados could have padded their bill by putting on hoses that werent needed, but they didnt. They could have charged more because of the short lead time, but they didnt Too bad they are so far away from my home or I would have them do all my work....and I am a retired MECHANIC!! Hats off to a really great bunch of folks! Very highly recommended!!

I dont know how they have such great reviews. Both times I went there was no one at the front desk. There is no bell either. Waited until no one showed and just walked out. Called before I went in to get an estimate wait time. Was told to call back.

Our family usually looks to dealerships to service our vehicles, but we decided to take a leap of faith on a local option based purely on convenience.We initially brought in our vehicle to have the AC fixed and they were able to complete that job. However, we mistakenly thought that experience would carry over to them fixing a more serious repair our car needed.We brought in our car and after about a week of ordering parts and charging labor (hundreds of dollars), they called us and said our vehicle was ready. We picked it up and within 2 hours the car broke down (on the other side of town) and we barely made it back.They said they would continue to look into it and after 2-3 weeks, we finally decided to pull the vehicle out of the shop due to their lack of communication and inability to fix our car. The worst part about our experience at Coronado Auto Repair was that they refused to refund all the repairs and parts that they felt helped our car, but didnt fix the problem...They had multiple opportunities to make this horrible experience better, but instead made it worse every single time. Were now stuck paying for an incomplete job, didnt have our car for weeks and feel overall cheated.

They have too many customers and too few qualified mechanics. As a result, the quality of the work poor.if you take your car for repair they will keep it for days and days. When you do get it back, it still has the same problems you took it in for.its sad to see the enormous decline in service repair. They no longer care about theircustomers.

Came in to do my registration inspection into what seemed to be a super busy hour, but got taken care of within minutes. Great service.

A few weeks ago, I went to Coronado auto repair because there was a squeaking noise when driving my car. I didn’t know if it was the brake pads or the fan belt.What made my visit so amazing is that they fixed the squeaking noise for free. They told me the issue is not with the brake pads, but it is due to friction from rust from some rotor. They said my brake pads are still good. I wasnt charged anything and, when driving afterwards, I noticed the squeaking noise in my car is gone and that the driving performance of my car has improved.

Had the clutch on a car fixed a year ago here and was told if it blew out again within the next two years my repair would be free. The car has been there for four days over the weekend and has not been looked at. Not only that, they TEXT me after I had called repeatedly saying my repair will be $200 for labor. HORRIBLE PLACE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!!!!! Extremely unprofessional and absolutely does the worse job possible.

Would have been a better review, however we came in with an oil leak and they dyed it to find the leak. The said it was both valve covers on the right and there was an exhaust leak. $600 to repair and still leaks. Took it to the dealership and they showed me that the valve seals were not replaced just a type of silicone put over them and the exhaust still leaks.
