I chose this place because of the photos of the avocado toast. They’ve discontinued a lot of the fresh food since covid. As another reviewer mentioned, everything is premade and microwaved. The bakery goods are also not the freshest

SORRY STARBUCKS, BUT WE’RE OFFICIALLY BREAKING UP!! I happened to be staying in Manhattan Beach and I stumbled upon this gem of a coffee shop. At first, I was a bit confused about why I was waiting so long for a coffee, since I’m so accustomed to being herded in and out of my usual coffee shop as I rush to the next checklist item on my agenda for the day. But my experience at Philz Coffee reminded me that the best things in life truly are worth waiting for. I’ve never had a coffee that makes me think of a past vacation that I’ve had, but the coffee named “Dancing Water” with a hint of steamed Oat Milk was so smooth and mellow that it reminded me more of a, “Staying at a luxury resort on a calm tropical beach” coffee than a, “Driving into crazy LA morning rush hour traffic so I better get amped up” coffee.Lake was the name of my server and she was very kind. I loved the fact that she actually came around the counter to hand me my coffee and she asked me to taste it and let her know if it was to my liking. If not, she would be happy to remake it. Now THAT is what you call true craftsmanship and service. Thank you Philz Coffee. You guys really changed my morning and enhanced my view of what a great business that really cares about their customers really looks like. I will definitely be recommending you to all of my friends who visit the LA area.

The coffee was good but there was way too much mint in the mint mojito coffee and the sweet tea. Overall great atmosphere and clean patio.

I rarely write any reviews, But they have a staff who called Nick, He is EXTREMELY kind and sweet !!!!!I have some hard time to choose the coffee, But he really take his time to understand which flavor I like, And the coffee I get in the end, it feels like a Personal customization coffee, It really shocked me!!! 😆😆😆Thank you Nick ~To made my day ☺️☺️☺️

I went in for breakfast and it took 20 minutes because all food is microwaved and they only have 1 microwave and had several orders come in (being 930am).They had 4 people making coffee and finished all the coffee so it would be better if they buy 2 more microwaves and have the baristas be able to help out on food if needed.Finally, they make orders from paper tickets but they ran out of space so had to place them in a random order so my order was made behind several people who ordered after me.

The coffee is delicious. The beans are flavorful. But they need to get better at grinding bulk coffee.The latest sadness is they ground my beans waaaay too fine. Usually I check, but forgot this time. In general their grinding machine is very limited, they have a kind of coarse setting that works for french press but is too fine for cold press - even though some of their blends make a great cold press! And I dont think they have anything finer than espresso, so you cant try making Turkish coffee even though they have suitable blends. Invest in a machine with more settings!The real solution is I need to get my own coffee grinder, right now I just use a magic bullet.

I cannot believe this place calls themselves a coffee shop. They could sell better water than they could coffee! If you drink their coffee, your dead grandma will turn over in her grave!Also the hot chocolate was more water than chocolate. I could have made myself some hot water without having to pay $5. Do yourself a favor, stick with Starbucks.

Philz signature Iced Mint Mojito is the best. Just have it with their Coffee Muffin Cake, hella satisfying. The original coffee blends are awesome too. My favorites are TANTALIZING TURKISH and TESORA. Go try this place and enjoy the aroma of coffee.

I had the iced mint mojo to, which is pretty good! I’m a tea drinker and usually don’t like coffee, but this coffee I can drink. The staff is really nice. However, the wait can get pretty long. They have a sign that says the line moves fast, but it’s not true, at least when I was there.Pro tip: take advantage of the mobile order, so you don’t have to wait in line.

So, you have to order and pay through their app. I didnt know this but they still allowed me to place my order. Unfortunately their system was down and I dont carry cash with me. THEY GAVE ME MY DELICIOUS MINT MOJITO FOR FREE :) THANK YOU!

Local chain with tasty iced coffee options. The iced mint mojito (nonalcoholic ofc ;) )is a go-to classic and the rosé is nice for those who like floral flavors. The coffees are group together by light, medium, and dark so there’s options for everyone, including tea drinkers.There’s free parking available behind the store. There’s a small patio with a few tables to hang although when I was there on Sunday morning, it was packed. The Philz is located right next to Randy’s Doughnuts so you could grab a box to go with your coffee. Credit cards are accepted. After you pay, you wait until your name is called and get your napkins/drinks/tops at the side counter. It took about 10 min to get our drinks, which was pretty fast considering the amount of people there. Definitely a good spot to get your caffeine fix.

Coffee is good been coming here for about a yearJust watch out for the cups you get they start to leak and they are very flimsy dont know if its just this store. Third time i get a bad cup. Ask to double cup it.

Super friendly staffs. Istanbul Treat with medium honey + medium soy + extra mint = delicious! The coffee muffin cake is really good too!There is a nice outdoor patio for working. Free WiFi, and I had no problem getting a table. But note that there are only two outlets (one next to the sofa, the other near the table to the left when going out from the coffee shop).

The Mojito Cold Brew is phenomenal and a must try.

Undrinkable coffee in a bad office park... service was mechanical and borderline mean. Don’t see the appeal of Philz- consistently bad coffee. Light roast coffee totally burnt. If you’re looking for real coffee in this neighborhood look up Urth Caffe- 100% organic, in-house roasted.

Only thing I like is Jalapeño Cheddar Bagel. Worth the 25 minute wait even with app ordering. Their coffee isn’t worth the long wait.

Their mocha is on the milkier side and doesnt have a strong chocolatey taste. Smooth and mild taste. Good but not best.

I placed an order through the app and received a notification that my order was ready for pickup. When I went in to pick up my order, the barista hadnt even started on it. How was it that I received a notification that my order was ready when it was not?I ordered an iced gingersnap and an iced Ambrosia they both tasted very acidic, bland and left a weird sour aftertaste. The gingersnap coffee had an overpowering taste of cinnamon on top of the already sour coffee taste. It was not like how it shouldve tasted like, I couldnt bring myself to drink it anymore. It was better in the trash than in my stomach. Ive never had this issue with my coffee at any Philz locations. They usually have great service and coffee.The customer service at the El Segundo location was mediocre at best. I would not recommend coming to Philz coffee El Segundo, unless you prefered watered down coffee.

Coffee tastes pretty good, especially if youre a sugar and cream kind of person. The process of ordering at the counter and purchasing at the register is a little confusing to someone whos never been there. You need to order the coffee and then you kinda have the option to wait for the coffee or relay the order at the register to purchase. Youre left in sort a slight limbo of what do I do? before you eventually realize you need to go to the register. Ultimately its not a big deal once you go through with it so not too much of an issue.

This place is good but the wait time is outrageous, I think thats because theyre making everything by hand so they take their time but having to wait 30 40 minutes for a cup of coffee is just beyond me. Other than that its a good place.

A lot of choices, you will have to go several times to find the one you like. We had Tersora blend it was okay to me but bitter to my wife. Service was great. You just have to find your own bury treasure.

Delicious coffee and so many brews to choose from! The rosewater special is surprising and tasty. Cardamom is good too. These are not flavours but tones different beans have. Coffee is brewed in front of you and everything is available hot or cold, americano or latte, etc. Really worth a try!

Philz is great ! Unlike regular latte, cappuccino,etc, they actually have various flavors of coffee in 3 blends and they mix and match to deliver unique coffee. A MUST TRY.

We love Philz in the bay area and found this location. Coffee and brewed teas are great, but seating is all outdoors without heaters.

Very helpful staff and a large variety of coffee roasts. Coffee itself was good and they even sell the beans to make your own.

Ive been putting off trying out Philz, just because of the parking. Im so glad I was able to finally try this place out! There was a little line, but it moved fairly quickly. We mentioned it was our first time there and our barista made a few suggestions. I cannot remember the name, but my drink was delicious. We also wanted to try a plain coffee, because, well, we are at a coffee place, and if they brew a good cup of joe, chances are all their other fancy drinks are probably tasty as well. Our gal made sure to let us know to mention it was our first time there with the cashier. We were given baklava, which was pretty tasty as well. I will definitely be coming back.

Philz is a chain of coffee shops specializing in pour overs, so dont go in there to order a latte. They have a selection of Non-dairy options that they do not charge extra for (THANK YOU!). I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the food/drinks, interior, or staff that is anything but praise.The location, however, is a bit of a logistical nightmare. There are 70 parking spaces there for all of the very popular businesses in that location. There is an extremely popular donut shop next door as well as a couple restaurants that share the same lot, meaning it is impossible to find a spot. Theres no street parking, just huge structures, some of which are not for public use.

I didnt know about Philz until a few months ago... Tried their most famous mint mojito and loved it... Also tried Tesora and it was pretty good. Came back on July 5 and tried their iced hot chocolate and its the best yet I have tasted. I was just sad because they didnt have the bran muffins and oatmeal cookie when I came... I hope they serve it until night time...
