Great prices on home improvement items to fit whatever budget youre on.

This place is one of the top habitats but I’m giving it only 3 stars because some of the prices are ridiculous. Sure they have some good things in here every now and then for a decent price but some of the stuff is only 10% to 20% lower than the full price of the retail stores. Sometimes the prices are only a few dollars less when the retail stores have them on sale, not to mention it is brand new and I can return the item if for a full refund if I’m not happy.

This is a smaller store but you may find the furniture, door, window screen or electrical and plumbing thing youre looking for. I think with a little imagination and work you may find something, but much of their furniture is project ready not finished.

Very disappointed. They will NOT allow children under 16 inside. I actually got yelled at by the lady checking people out. This is a RESALE shop... NOT a high end designer shop. Very disappointed

Very friendly. Loaded dishwasher into my car for me. Found the best set of shelves for only 10 dollars. You can save so much money there.

Always a place for great home improvement deals and unique items.

This place is great for the artist looking for old things to use. Also, great for saving money on repairs by getting an item from here. There are some new items for sale cheap. There are cabinets for a full kitchen, doors of all kinds, windows, toilets, bath tubes, chandeliers, etc. You get the idea. People donate these things to I turn earn money to help the less fortunate such as veterans who need assistance fixing their home. It goes for a good cause so if youre working on a home project go check this place out and see what they might have... Happy hunting.

This is the place to be when you need to repair/rehab your property on a budget. I suggest any hone flippers to check them out first before heading to the big box stores.

This used to be my go to place for any project needs but it has gone drastically downhill. Nearly all of their items have become incredibly overpriced. The only items in a reasonable price range are very specific and mostly damaged to the point of not being functional.The furniture is littered with full price retail printouts from the manufacturer website and they basically just cut that price in half with no concept that no actual store sells the items for the full retail price. Not to mention the condition of the item is far less than new condition and comes with absolutely no warranty or return ability.Despite excessive damage to items the pricing still exceeds a reasonable cost, and many items violate their own POSTED rule that all discounts START at 50% off.Its a shame that the greed of some individual has undermined the purpose of this store. The items are donated not sold to this ReStore. They are also meant to raise money to help those in need, not to line the pockets of the manager and owner which was mentioned several times by an employee who also remembered when the store would offer a used item at a reasonable price instead of taking advantage of consumers and abandoning those in need. Another employee pointed out several items that were overpriced that have been at the store for several months due to the pricing manager refusing to make any adjustments. Again, greed and ego are taking the place of compassion and generosity.I hope that there is a chance that who ever is responsible for this location will reevaluate the structure and go back to offering items that will benefit those in need. Until then, I will no longer visit this location.

Found home repair stuff much cheaper than at most big hardware stores. Cheap furniture too.

Have good deals for remodelers on inexpensive merchandise

What a great store! There’s always a giant selection of home improvement items like flooring, plumbing fixtures, appliances, electrical products, lamps, doors and windows, lawn & garden and tools. The store also has new and used furniture, kitchen gadgets and more. This place is HUGE, about 40,000 square feet. What is in stock today might not be there tomorrow. If you see something you want buy it. Inventory is always turning over, you need to keep coming back.

They have a very good selection of items you may be looking for. Bought 2 serving cabinets, 2 coach lights, and a bathroom sink for what a new bathroom sink would have cost.

I love this place! My only criticism would be that some items are priced a little high.... others are a great bargain. I know they try to price new items at 50% of retail but often packaging or the item itself may have damage. Ive found a whole variety of items for repairs in my 100 yr old house and as accents. What is in stock today, wont necessarily still be there tomorrow. Your luck improves the times you visit. You never know what may come in next. Theyve also started a rewards program for those purchases over a certain amount and you can rack up points/cash toward future purchases. Have stuff you want to donate? Please do, its a great cause and tax-deductible.

Staff is helpful and I always find something interesting to buy

Been visiting this RS since it opened on the backside of the building where theyre located. It was pretty much was just a loading/delivery dock and very little floor space but always cool stuff. Needed a sink. . . took only 2 visits to find the perfect piece, needed a work table. . . they had 3x8.5 door blanks which were, again, perfect. Chemicals, paint, stuff for my work, even something as simple as a small roll of black & yellow reflective safety tape for $1 (retail: $6.99!?). I love resale/thrift shops anyway, but theyre selection has helped and continues to help us out in specific and uniquely unique ways. Oh, and never a problem with the staff or phone calls.

Habitat ReStore Elgin is my first stop before I start any project. I rarely walk out empty handed!! I love this store for new and used items, the prices are great and the selection is constantly changing. If you see something you love, you better grab it because the items go fast!!

Good place to find new and unusual home improvement items for a great price. The store gets donations from several major companies and probably local businesses too. You can also drop off reusable home improvement items so they can be resold and reused.

It was a good place to shop in the beginning, now I prefer to shop at Menards. there pricese have gone up big time workers and volunteer people save all the good stuff in the back. Customer should always go first.

Dont ever do community service here the guy who handles it LANCE obviously doesnt know what hes doing and also doesnt abide by all things legal as far as I saw when I was there but all the people doing service there are nice and its an okay ish place overall I guess but management is a joke

This is by far one of the best restores in northern illinois, ive loved it for quite sometime, its fantastic for a homeowner who has lots of ideas.

Great deals. They open at 9am (tues thru sat) and you will be hard pressed to find customer support in the morning from 9am to 10am.

No good they had the product more expensive than the stores the product is in there its the product. Companies donate or people from the community donate and they are checkadvantage and those prices which is I dont think the restore is our community store anymore like they used to be

Tons of junk, hit or miss. Staff is not rude, but not always helpful.

Fair pricing, and theres just as ton of cool old stuff to look at every time I go. Ive donated as much as Ive bought there.
