Ive been taking my cars to Kellenberger for 15 years. Excellent, quality service! Very responsive on the phone, they know you by name (like Cheers!). You get what you pay for in automotive world, so pay a little bit more for the best and get it done right the first time.

Had a brake job done on Honda Accord, They do not test drive the cars after they do work on them. I know that because the lug nuts fell off the front wheels. The shop owners did not even apologize, oh well that happens some time . This is safety issue pure and simple. I do not reomend that you risk your life by having this shop work on your car.

I have been getting my cars serviced and repaired at Kellenberger Auto Servic since 1985! I would never go anywhere else.

I was told over the phone that the tech would make a list of problems he found in the car and they would let me know to take care of it. When they called to tell me the diagnosis of my car they informed me of only one problem and didnt mention at all another issue related to what I wanted fixed. So in the end I would have to go back and pay for the labor and alignment again. What really made this a one star visit is the fact that they gave me my car back with a check engine light on and no mention whatsoever of it. I will not be returning and I highly suggest if you have a car you actually care about not to consider this shop to do your work either.

We finally found an honest, reliable mechanic! Peace of mind knowing they dont sell you things you dont need or try to upsell you on everything. They communicate exactly what the problem is, what it takes to fix it, and how much it costs. I wont take my cars anywhere else.Recently our car failed an emissions test. They explained that our specific model has a history of the computer going bad, causing 3 specific check engine codes we were getting. They said they could replace the computer to fix 2 codes, and it might also clear the code for the catalytic converter as well, but if not we would need to replace that too. They gave the cost of both jobs up front. We decided to replace the computer, which cleared 2 of the 3 codes. They kept it overnight (the computer had to be triggered after a cold start) and test drove it, no problems, and we picked it up. The next day the check engine light came on again, and it was something I dont remember now. They said we could replace the catalytic converter, or we could get an exemption form from the Sec. of State to get an additional year to pass an emissions test since we spent over $400 on it trying to get it to pass. I understand that sometimes several things might cause the emissions problem (11 years old, 240k miles), so I appreciate their honest and transparent communication and advice.

I have just moved into the area and bought a used car for pretty cheap, so it was expected I needed to get some work done. I had some issues with my break line, every time it rained, it would go low and the light would come on. My rear turn signal was out, I took it to a Firestone a few weeks ago and they just replaced the bulb and that night the bulb blew again. I also needed my exhaust looked at. I have been strapped for cash and these issues had finally gone on for too long, I needed a fix! I found this place out on a whim with awesome ratings.When I walked into the building, it was very calm. Instantly felt welcomed. I told them my issues and they kindly told me how the procedure was going to go, I were to receive a phone call in a few hours to see how much it would cost approximately. I got my phone call, very professional! They told me straight up my car would possibly have to stay overnight, which was no big deal for me. The cost approximations were very affordable.The next day I had received a text saying my car was ready for pickup. Easy and quick checkout. Im so satisfied. I didnt feel pressured to get more work done. Will definitely come back!

Definitely family owned and operated, right down to walking in to see them brewing fresh coffee and greeting you the moment you walk in! Can’t believe I’m just now finding out about them, but now I can’t imagine taking my car anywhere else!They even brought me back into the shop to show me an issue I didn’t know was going on with my car (due to the lack of severity in the issue I decided to wait on taking care of it), and just the fact that they wanted to show me what they were seeing was much appreciated. Originally went in for an oil change and even that wasn’t bad in price. I HIGHLY recommend this shop!

Had a bad experience at another auto place in Elgin, Caseys Automotive, who cost me $400 for a starter I didnt need because they could allegedly tell by the sound it was making. Brought car here to have another look. Kellenberger actually did tests and some research that they described to me and recommended I should take my car to Ford, even though it cost them business, because my problem should be be covered under an extended warranty. They were right, I took my car to Ford and it was covered under the extended warranty. Thank you, Kellenberger Auto.

They are honest. If youre handy, theyll give you a list so you can decide what to have them do, and what to do yourself. For example, You can probably do *this*, or we can do it on Wednesday for about $200, but we should probably do *this* in the shop.They wont do bandaid fixes.
