I have used KS Autocare for about 5 years. I like to do most of my car repairs myself but sometimes I dont have time or its a bigger repair than I can handle. Its hard enough to trust my vehicle with others, but to trust also that its going to come back better and not worse than it was before is something totally different. It didnt take long for me to trust Mike and Seth with my vehicles and I now consider them friends. Friends that my family relies on to have a safe and working vehicle to get us around. I brought my truck in with a request to fix a problem with my supercharger. They fixed something else they thought was the problem, charged me $300 for it, and it did not fix the problem. What a big waste of time and $!!. Why should I have to pay for a mechanics guesswork that is wrong and doesnt pan out???

Seth was eminently pleasant, friendly and knowledgable. The office is clean and organized. Mechanic reviewed the car in a timely, if not speedy fashion. Communication was clear. Would have liked to have been offered an alt option with pros and cons, but price was clearly explained, and there was no pressure to replace everything. Place is neither cheap nor expensive, but seemed fair and appropriate. I would recommend K&S.

In February 2019, I wanted a 2nd opinion on a car repair estimate I had received from another repair shop so I looked up reviews on auto repair shops near Elgin. KS Autocare was rated highly so I made an appointment. (I was told at the first auto repair place that unusual tire wear on my 2015 Toyota Corolla with 57K miles meant that I needed 2 rear struts for $1K.)At KS, the receipt said, “There were no codes stored and all monitors have run to completion.” Seth & Mike explained that the rear tires were chopped up and said it was possible that the rear shocks might be bad, but they didn’t think so because the shocks weren’t leaking and the car was not that old. They said it needed tires and an alignment. I ended up getting new tires and have not had any issues with the shocks.I believe that Seth & Mike at KS Autocare run a reputable, honest car repair business and have started bringing my car to them for service and would highly recommend.

We have had both of our kids cars worked on by Seth and Mike multiple times. I can do some things on my own, and they always tell me all the various issues they find and let me decide which ones I want them to do. They also are upfront about which repairs are critical and which ones can wait a bit.Very honest business. I would highly recommend them!

I recently had trouble starting my Honda Accord and didnt quite know what the cause was. One day it completely wouldnt start so, being new to the area, we went online to do some research of repair shops in the area. We read the positive reviews of K&S Automotive and are happy to add our own review as well. Mike was incredibly helpful from start to finish. He really did treat the car like it was his own! He got us back on the road even though it was Christmas Eve. K&S Automotive and their friendly staff can be trusted with all of your auto repair needs.

I was on my way from St.Charles to Rockford when suddenly my car shut down, had no idea why . Thankfully K&S Auto was listed on google so I had my car towed to his shop, thank god I did . Mike was alone in the shop, very busy and swamped with work however after listening to my situation he took time out of his busy schedule to take look at my car and get on the road as fast as he could . Terrible people! Tried taking advantage of my Female cousin when her Jeep broke down on her way back from Wisconsin to Michigan in Elgin. Insurance company was going to tow her there, they told her over $550.00 to replace a starter. What they didnt know is Im a retired Jeep dealer. The local Jeep dealer there quoted the same job under $350.00...and we all know dealers are always more. These guys tried to take advantage of a single woman in a desperate situation. Shame on you!

This place is horrible. They are liars and cheats. I was told one price on my auto repair and it ended up costing almost $400 more. Also, they do not guarantee their work. My car broke down a few weeks later and I was out of almost 2,000, with no car! Do not go here. They are SCAM ARTISTS!!!!

POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS BEWARE! Went to K&S Auto Care biased on the reviews here. What I thought would be a [FREE} estimate turned out to be a complete waste of my time and instead ended up costing me $85 bucks for a tow back home even though the car drove ok for the trip there the day before.RED FLAG #1 .. Shop gave me a partial incomplete Ballpark [G]estimate??RED FLAG #2.. Shop wanted lotsa money upfront to do any repairs [not heard of that one before]. When I told them I would need a day to consider the situationK&S Auto claimed they were uncomfortable with me driving the car & would ONLY release my car to a towing company in liew of doing any repair work.K&S Automotive Inc would be a good place to avoid and driving in to this company could in fact cost you more than you bargained for.
