I LOVE the staff at the Batteries + Bulbs in Elgin. They always do a little bit extra -- like setting the time on my analog watch after replacing the battery. And theyre so knowledgeable.Recently I went to have a car fob fixed using a kit I bought online 3 years ago and never got around to doing anything about. I didnt know they provided that service until I heard it mentioned on their on-hold phone message.And they fix phones too --Im sure Ill need that service at some point.

My car key fob was being temperamental and I thought I only needed a new battery. The technician not only replaced the battery, but he did some diagnostics and found a loose connection and repaired that as well, no additional charges. A very good experience. Very rude customer service I noticed other reviews have mentioned the same, now I know why from experiencing it. Besides that note, my issue was I had called over the phone to ask for availability on three different flashlights rechargeable. I was told that theyre in stock and they have them in store so I get there Im looking at the flashlight open the boxes all of the Chargers and other attachments were missing. I was not informed over the phone that these were not complete items I called to begin with so I wouldnt drive over there for nothing. I felt like he was a used cars salesman trying to sell me a car without an engine. Then when I get to the store an hour before closing hes hiding nowhere to be seen. Try to avoid customers and thats sad because I was willing to spend about for $500 in there. I left without buying the flashlights. Ive been to all the Battery Plus in my area this location is the worst one out of all of them. Battery plus, location that has the best customer service is the one in Mount Prospect. if I do decide to purchase these items I will be showing up to the Mount Prospect store give them the business. Sorry Battery Plus is for the bad review hopefully when you read this you can work on the rest of your locations and make them better.

Very helpful and after browsing the store I was enlighten as to how much Batteries Plus has to offer.Overall I was pleased. I had a smartphone battery replaced to see if that would help my older phone retain a charge. The only drawback was there was only one representative in the store at the time which meant customers and phone calls took priority. I would recommend customers who need repairs and/or battery replacement try not to go too early in the morning.

Very good service. I missed the intersection in Elgin and called Josh. He was very kind and offered to stay past closing time and he was there even though I was possbily a few min late.

An A for effort but an F for battery fitment. We had to jury rig the retaining bracket and the vent hose since the Duracell Battery was too short and had a square vent and not a round one. The technician tried his best but needed help from the buyer. He was extremely courteous and did his best to solve the two issues. a 15 minute battery install took almost 1.5 hours to accomplish. The price was right and the install was free otherwise.........

Went in over the weekend for new battery for a motorcycle. The associate was very friendly and helpful. Found exactly the right battery we needed and they had it in stock. After purchasing the battery and getting out to the car we realized that he had given us 15% off for customer appreciation without even saying anything. I bought a battery from batteries plus bulbs and I was very unhappy I feel this company sells an inferior product and they do not stand behind the products that they sell I do not recommend anybody buying a battery from this store or any franchise batteries plus bulb store.The reason why I say this is because I bought my first battery it lasted two months before it would no longer hold a charge. I bought a second battery it lasted one month before it would not hold a charge and when I went to replace it for a third time they no longer would not honor the warranty.

Every time I go to a batteries+. I get fantastic help, in the very rear change what I need is not there, they can always tell me where I can find it.

They were wonderful! I was in a panic. The battery in my phone was dying plus it was getting extreamly hot. Where do you go on a Sunday to get a battery & be repaired. They saved me. I would recommend them to everyone.

I was looking for a battery holder for a CR2032 for a project I was working on. I phoned the store to ask if they had this part, and the fellow who answered said they did. Great, I thought, so I replied Id probably stop by then. However, when I went there later that same day and asked, the kid at the counter hadnt a clue. He checked with the guy in the back room, who said that they didnt have any.Surprise, surprise.I was mad about the wasted trip. Who wants to run around any more than they have to, especially on a weekend? If they didnt have any, fine, but then why say you have it when you dont? That is not the way to win friends and influence people. Well, technically I suppose it does influence people but in a negative way, and believe me, guys, thats not what you want. I ended up ordering what I wanted online anyhow, stalling my project. Its probably cheaper online anyhow.Listen, guys, if you want to compete with online stores, you HAVE to beat them by providing 1) better service and 2) greater convenience. Sending people on wild goose chases is NOT the way to do it.

I’ve been looking for a battery for my Chevy and looked at AutoZone, O’Reilly’s auto-parts, and Advanced. I decided to look at batteries plus and sure enough they sold car batteries, I had no idea. But I got a great battery for a great price and the very nice gentleman working at the counter was more than happy enough to install it in my car on the spot. Great experience and I would recommend them to anybody looking for a car battery. My next trip there I will be getting some iPhone batteries replaced for the family. Much more cost-effective than buying a new iPhone.

From their website: Pull up in front of our store and well install your new car battery for you, rain or shine. Most vehicle batteries can be installed in 20-minutes or less, no appointment necessary. However, in winter under certain temperatures they will just decline to install a battery for you. Totally fair, but they should be more clear in their advertising before having customers drive out of their way to get a battery installed only to be turned away.

They have always been a 4 or 5 in terms of service in the past. That is however, when there are no specific issues to overcome.I have been buying my batteries there for several years and always ended up buying flashlights or portable power cell.I had one flashlight that stopped working (intermittently) but it has taken me some time to actually bring it back.I finally did, yesterday. I was asked for a receipt and of course I had none...who would?I stated that I always give my telephone number when I bought things. That should record all my purchases. However, the only record was of a battery I bought a couple weeks ago. All the data was missing from their records.I was sure they would just say, sorry, we updated our system and deleted all records. But no....I was flabbergasted that they would not resolve a $20 issue....losing a customer.Failed the test
